[previewyoutube=OSLxcxVm7DU;full][/previewyoutube] 4 years ago No One Lives Under The Lighthouse was released on Steam. I can't believe time goes so fast. I would like to thank all of our fellow lighthouse keepers and wish them a pleasant peaceful day on the sea shore! For those who haven't tried the game yet, to celebrate this anniversary we are offering a 60% discount for the next 5 days for the game and its original soundtrack - the highest discount we had to this day. If you know someone who has postponed their playthrough until now - it's the best time to try it. Also, thanks to Youge) the game is now available to Japanese players in their native language with a high-quality translation.
Hey there! After some long silence, I would like to inform you that No one lives under the lighthouse Director's cut is currently having its biggest discount since its release more than 2.5 years ago. Oh, it seems like we were developing the game just yesterday. And that's because we were - in this spooky time of year, we can't resist a bit of honest lighthouse keeper job. During last weeks we've updated many small things you probably won't even notice - stuff that doesn't matter really that much for those who have already finished NOLUL DC, but may help creating a bit better impression for those who haven't played the game yet. [previewyoutube=TpUah2fpxik;full][/previewyoutube] I can't give you any kind of changelog, as that would ruin the mystery - so I'll just say we've updated some cutscenes, added bits of level design and improved some encounters, and made some really small updates to the island (during some of the days). Tweaked the difficulty in a way. Fixed some bugs and user experience issues. Remade some 3D props. Added more seagulls. Made one achievement a bit easier to achieve (guess which one). It's fun to come back to your creation after a while. During those weeks of work, we've made the overall experience a little bit smoother, even though this doesn't bring big changes (sorry, but if you don't love DC, you won't love it now). Though there are some big things - No one lives under the lighthouse Director's cut is now available in Turkish and German translations. Huge thanks to R. Eralp een (original game translation) and Yusuf Ylgr (Director's cut & Steam page translation) for Turkish language support, and to Sina Dehkalani (@frauenname) for the German translation. They've done incredible job! We've also updated the game splash logo (that you see after launching the exe), as almost half a year ago we changed from Sowoke Entertainment Bureau to Marevo Collective since our team has grown and changed as well. Hope you have some good time in the game and spend the spooky season with fun!
Recently we've added a French localization and forgot to announce it; today we've added small fixes to it so here we are. Huge thanks to Tho Arbogast for a high-quality translation! I've also added new images for unlocked achievements, related to the Tarot cards they represent. Bonne chance. Ne laissez pas l'isolement vous faire perdre l'esprit.
Hey people! Another update for you, featuring: - Updates for two chase cutscenes - We hope we've finally fixed the fall-through-the-ground bug, but we're never sure about this one - Minor update for ammo bag - Mouse sensitivity slider in Settings got fixed so it's always seen - Hopefully, we've fixed the crash when you launch the game for the first time - Item switch setting added - Localization fix - Some other minor bugfixes Enjoy the game! Fear the spooks! Have a great Halloween!
Read its description here if you've missed it. Shortly: 2 endings are remade (both related to exiting the church), achievements are trackable in main menu, minor new models, new main menu UI sounds. New translations + discord and twitter links. If somehow you still won't find an exe after update downloads, try re-installing the game, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Or at least I pray for it not to happen isaac
Sorry, we'll try to fix that asap. Right now I backed to the previous version of the game that is stable and definitely should have an .exe file

- Updates to 2 of 3 endings - Updates to Lamp, Oiler and Shovel models - In-game achievements menu that, as I think, looks better than all other UI in-game but I'm too tired (and I'm working on a new project) to make other UI look as good as this one - Main menu UI sounds a bit different and more PSX'y - Small rain update, which makes it way less heavy for your PC; by the way, it looks a little bit different from the old rain and if you insist or threaten us we'll bring old rain back alright calm down put the weapon down - We fixed some bugs in the stealth section which was very hard to complete without a gun - Added translations to Italian, Polish and Hungarian, thanks to Luca Cassinelli, Krzysztof Gmyr, and Brechler "lostprophet" Zsolt

Spooktober Update
The most interesting one! Tomorrow, after the EEK3, a new small No one lives under the lighthouse update will go live. Featuring: - Updates to 2 of 3 endings
as I think they are kinda disappointing and don't tell much about the storyline
- Updates to Lamp, Oiler and Shovel models
as I think I can't stop improving the game and am doomed to do it for the rest of my life; also, previous models were a bit high poly. You won't see the difference in the Shovel model though, but THERE IS
- In-game achievements menu that, as I think, looks better than all other UI in-game but I'm too tired (and I'm working on a new project) to make other UI look as good as this one - Main menu UI sounds a bit different and more PSX'y - Small rain update, which makes it way less heavy for your PC; by the way, it looks a little bit different from the old rain and if you insist or threaten us we'll bring old rain back alright calm down put the weapon down - We fixed some bugs in the stealth section which was very hard to complete without a gun - Added translations to Italian, Polish and Hungarian, thanks to Luca Cassinelli, Krzysztof Gmyr, and Brechler "lostprophet" Zsolt And we also have one more surprise for you tomorrow. So, see you then! Stay spooked!
Director's Cut update, read more here
Free update is available to download for all game owners. The features list is below. If you want to support us please consider purchasing freshly released OST. Also please leave a review for the game if you didn't yet - that helps a lot, that's basically our most efficient marketing tool
as our marketing budget is $0
. Features: - Mac and Linux versions - Controller support - New settings (mouse inversion, key mapping, mouse sensitivity) - Level selection from the menu - Almost half of the game (second half, to be clear) is remade, including all of the endings; - Some of the first half of the game scenes are updated too; - 2 challenging (but not too challenging, I guess) boss fights; - Some of the game's scenes that frustrate people more than the others are now skippable - Changed more than half of achievements. Sadly, that means you've lost their old versions - Storyline is updated to express the original ideas; - More seagulls; - As it was promised a year ago, sandbags are now 3D model Maybe we'll also add stuff like Steam Trading Cards, Emoticons, Badges, and Profile Backgrounds soon, but I'm not sure and can't promise that. We love you isaac Have fun and leave your feedback here.
Many people haven't heard anything from us in a while - I'm sorry, developing the update took much longer than I expected. The Isolated Year Update - that we've decided to call Director's cut for simplicity and marketing purpose (everyone knows what Director's cut is) - is coming out tomorrow, 12.09.2021. [previewyoutube=2PatRUhX-z0;full][/previewyoutube] I'll publish a full list of updated things tomorrow, but right now I may give you a shorter one: half of the game remade, achievements changed, endings changed (maybe it will be a disappointing change for someone), the storyline makes more sense and closer to the original idea even though you may not think so from the first time you play, 2 BOSSFIGHTS in a walking sim with actual challenging gameplay holy crap; better settings, level selection (no new game for achievement farming), controller support, Mac and Linux versions, a sexy intro with our company logo and an OST release. Everything is for free (well, not OST) and included as a part of the base game, as I hate DLC's. Though if you want to support us you may purchase the OST, it also releases tomorrow. Oh yeah, if you liked the old labyrinth level it's your last day to enjoy it. P.S. I'm sorry for folks who lost their achievements without any warning from our side - I was sure the achievement update is not public yet, as I haven't pressed "Publish" button for it in Steam developer dashboard. Also, I'm sorry for many questions being unanswered in discussions. I always thought I should get a notification if there are new discussions, and thought there are none - obviously, I was wrong. Follow us on Twitter if you want to see more unexpected name changes for free updates https://twitter.com/sowokegames
Hello, previous lighthouse keepers! Long time no see, eh? Hope you haven't disappeared. TL;DR - We announced a free update with a new ending, a remake of late-game content, some updates to early-game content, updated settings (control inversion, key mapping, gamepad support). It will be included in the base game version and will be free for all game owners, but will raise the price of a game. You can view it as a release from Early Access (however we've never planned to ship the game as EA). Also, the current -30% will be the last sale before the update release, so I can say if you won't get the game now, you won't get it this cheap until the end of 2021, at least (there will be discounts, but the price will be higher, so rickweeks ). Sorry for the long silence, 2020 was a mess, I've burned out from my daily (non-related to gamedev job), then quit it, then had some time to rest to get myself together. And, in march 2021, I and my team finally started updating the No one lives under the lighthouse game to the point we think is a good product we've originally intended to ship without any rush. And yesterday we've publicly announced this update, named "Isolated Year Expansion". [previewyoutube=pbIO5uTFa38;full][/previewyoutube] So what is "a good product" point I'm talking about? - We know that current late-game content kinda sucks. Most of the reviews pointing out the side of the game that is "below average" are pointing into
the maze, monster model, the whole tempo of late-game that turns from unease slow-burn exploration with small puzzles into Scooby-Doo corridor run
and to be honest we kinda expected it, as this parts of the game were really rushed by ourselves (we wanted to release the game without moving the dates). So we, members of Sowoke Entertainment Bureau, all agree it should be remade to match the feel of other parts of the game. - Current game settings don't have all features that were pointed out by many players - control inversion, mouse sensitivity, key remapping, and some other UX tweaks as, for example, level selection. Also - gamepad support. - Some of the early-game parts, such as
chases
, for example, deserve to have a little upgrade to make it possible to proceed for people who have troubles with this kind of gameplay or simply don't like it. Also, we know a few points in-game where we can spice up the mood, so why don't do it? - Also, we think that one of the current game endings has a lot of less playtime and joy, so we want to make it better for players that accidentally go to this root at their first playthrough. -
3D models of sand sacks, for god sake
- My biggest pardon for all Mac / Linux players, as we still don't know if we'll make those versions. As it was said a year ago - we'll try and that's the only promise I can get to you. This update will be included in the base game as a regular update, but when the update will be released, we will raise the game's price by about +25-30%. So it's free for people who bought it before the update but will cost a dollar or two more for folks who haven't. We plan to release this update in late May or June. Again, sorry for the long silence; I've originally expected us to make this update in summer/autumn 2020. Though I'm just a regular guy and couldn't keep my original promise, I don't want to leave things unfinished. --- If you want to read less important work-in-progress updates from us, subscribe to our Twitter. Also, if you like, you can check our newly announced projects, Kargo and Herr Palmister. Both are not horror games, as we want to try a bit of other genres. Wishlist if you like them! Btw, we've announced those two but our highest priority right now is Isolated Year, so don't worry, we won't move those update to 2022 dip Stay safe and do your vaccines! Vitalii, the guy from Sowoke Entertainment Bureau
Updates: - Now you don't scream after getting away from chases - Also for the chases - now you can't run forever - The Tower and The Sun achievements seem to be fixed. I can't be sure in any of our achievements anymore tbh rickweeks - Minor cutscenes fixes - You don't hear seagulls after digging. Damn those seagulls! - Seagull sounds added to the top of the lighthouse for your joy to balance seagull sounds removal from digging - You will lose the hammer when the time comes - You won't see parts of the house looking at you from the house walls outside - Everyone seems to miss one screamer so we made it a bit more eye-catching - If you launch the lighthouse mechanism and begone to do other business sacks should be much lower as you come back - You sail faster - We've moved briefcase a bit - A ladder in the basement of the lighthouse for you to get out of it easier - Wooden planks texture fix - You shouldn't fall underground after going out of the lighthouse/house/anywhere else - You can skip the credits by hitting Esc To be done: - Linux and Mac versions test - There's still a tricky way to fall down in the temple. We'll fix it - Old guy seems to come back to the island after you exit the shed on Day 1 - I feel like not all achievements work properly - New settings - mouse sensitivity, control inversion, key mapping - Gamepad support - Another way to get 3rd ending - Maze, cave and temple rework - Lots of moths attacking the lighthouse scene rework - Some small animations - I think we need more seagulls. No one complained about seagulls number but I have this feeling since the release - Mothman rework?! - Sandbags on a rope 3D model
as a DLC
The first-day patch is done! Updates: - We've fixed colliders in
Temple
level. Now you shouldn't fall. - But even if you somehow do, Restart in the menu should now restart this exact level. Not sure if it works at all levels, but it definitely works in
Temple
level. - Bridge on the beach now shouldn't lock you inside. You're free, my friend! - Fixed the water level on some parts of Day 5 - Now you can't see the opened chest from the behind of the house - And if you forgot your briefcase no one will steal it (yep, that one wasn't intended) - High priestess achievement now works fine. - Other minor fixes we can't remember Next plans: - Less common bugs - Sound from the game playing in pause menu fix - Wooden planks texture fix - We'll check the player spawns once again. At least two people have fallen through the ground after exiting a building or going down the stairs. We can't reproduce it, but we'll do our best to find out the reason. - Will add a ladder under the lighthouse probably - New settings - change mouse sensitivity and invert controls - We're discussing a small rework of
Temple
level, adding a bit more of a puzzle element to it. I love hove it looks, however, I'm not sure I love how it feels. - Another way to get 3rd ending - Controller support - Sacks! Maybe: - Achievement guide - We thought once about hints for the game, as some of the quests may be unclear, but most seem to complete the game without big issues or at max stuck at something but making it out in few mins. I'm still not sure about if it's actually needed or not. I think it's better to do it. -- Thanks for everyone who bought the game, shared feedback, reported bugs, or left a review! Each review helps us a lot! Bug reports also do that! Ask your questions in community hub - I try to answer each one of you as soon as I can while I'm not busy at my regular work (I'm not a full-time developer lol)! <3 Also: Bring your ideas and suggestions here Report any issue that seems like it's not intended here
We are sorry to say that, but we can't release the game today. It works almost fine, definitely can be called playable, but we need to handle critical bugs and polish some parts of it. We estimate the game to be finished by Tuesday, April 21. Currently, we're getting our coffee done and prepare for the weekend journey full of fixes and updates. You can never make it perfect, but it's always worth trying. tragedian

No one lives under the lighthouse Linux [438.21 M]
While browsing them, one of the PC games you found there attracts your attention. You don’t remember this game being here. You neither remember buying or playing it.
It seems really old, something from the early '00s. The title says “No one lives under the lighthouse”.
The game description on the backside of the box seems to be poorly translated from some other language:
"You arrive at the old lighthouse on a small island near the coast of the United States. After the previous keeper has gone missing, you need to take over his duties and watch after the light. The member of the Establishment told you they'll get you an assistant after a week or two, but right now you're on your own.
Featuring:
- Island exploration
- Enjoy the loneliness and ultra-modern graphics
- Look after the lighthouse, light the lamp at the sunset
- Listen what seagulls speak to you
- No words said
- Don't open the door that leads to the basement under the lighthouse
- No one lives under the lighthouse
This sounds weird and disturbing. Game screenshots on the box look a bit uncanny. If this game wasn't so old you've probably decided it's another pretentious walking sim with horror elements.
You need to check it. The box with other CDs stays in the corridor. You spent at least an hour looking for your old laptop, as your current PC doesn't even have the CD port.
Install wizard completes and closes automatically in less than a minute. A text document named "Instructions.txt" opens immediately after that.
Instructions.txt:
- The keeper is responsible for the care and management of the light, and for the station in general.
- The keeper is responsible for the careful management and expenditure of stores and supplies.
- A lighthouse must never be left wholly unattended.
- Keepers must be courteous and polite to all visitors who conform to the regulations.
- The lighthouse basement should be locked up tight and not visited not by the keeper, nor anyone else.
- Lights must be lighted punctually at sunset and must be kept burning at full intensity until sunrise.
- All preparations must be made early, that there may be no delay in lightning.
- The lens and the glass of the lantern must be cleaned daily and always kept in the best possible condition.
- The keeper and his assistance, if he has any, should live in a house near the lighthouse. No one lives under the lighthouse.
"This doesn't sound like proper instructions for a PC game", you think. So you don't bother closing the document and finally launch the game .exe file.
What could go wrong?
Game features:
- From 1 to 2 hours of playtime for single walkthrough
- A slow burn low-jumpscare-rated horror mystery with multiple interpretations
- Retro aesthetics
- 3 endings
- Achievements
- Full controller support
Director's cut:
Director's cut (also known previously as Isolated Year Update) introduces a remake of most of the late-game content, completely changing the 2nd hour of the game and also adding some new things to the earlier part of the game. Also all of game's endings were remade and some of them became much harder to achieve than the others. Also, many achievements were remade according to the new content.
