Patch 1.0.13 - Strife QoL Update



Thanks to the collective feedback of several community veterans, this patch should hopefully provide a significant Quality of Life improvement to Strife's small dedicated community with numerous bug fixes, gameplay & balance changes. General Updates

  • Added new visual & sound effects for all Heroes in the Hero Selection & Matchmaking Lobby screens.
  • Added new visual & sound effects for several Hero passives and abilities.
  • Added new cosmetic dyes for Minerva (Dharkstone) and Pal (Iron & Pink).
  • Added a new Hero gearset, Steelwing Blazer.

  • Krytos & Baldir now appear in fashionable pink.

Bastion


  • Breath of Oracles (Q):
    • Cooldown adjusted from 9 at all levels to 9/8.5/8/7.5 seconds.


  • The Chosen One (R):
    • Cooldown decreased from 115/105/95 to 110/100/90 seconds.




Blazer


  • Movement Speed increased from 340 to 345.

  • Ion Cannon (Q):
    • No longer applies a -20% movespeed slow to Blazer while channeling.


  • Hunter Mode (R):
    • Blazer now deals +100% Attack Damage when attacking from stealth.
    • Hunter Mode stealth now expires at the end of Blazer's attack animation rather than at the start, allowing players to cancel their attacks without losing stealth.




Bo


  • Bull Rush (R):
    • Cooldown decreased from 90/75/60 to 80/70/60 seconds.




Buford


  • Movement Speed increased from 330 to 345.

    • Activating the EMP after launching it no longer costs mana.

    • Reactivating the ability (to teleport to illusions) now costs 25 mana per activation.




Malph


  • Tunnel Bomb (Q):
    • Now seeks out enemy heroes if they are within 700 range, turning into a homing projectile with a decreased turn rate.




Midknight


  • Chains of Judgement (R):
    • Distance required to break the chain link between Midknight and enemy heroes increased from 800 to 1200.




Pal


  • Trip Beam (Q):
    • Stun & knockback duration reduced from 0.6 to 0.3 seconds.


  • Roll Out (W):
    • Now has an instant cast time (decreased from 0.8 seconds) & no longer interrupts movement.
    • Pal's turnrate is no longer decreased while Roll Out is active.
    • Pal gains 5/9/13/17% bonus movement speed while Roll Out is active.
    • Taking damage will apply a 70% tapering movespeed slow for 0.5 seconds (stacking).
    • Impact AoE radius increased from 100 to 150.


  • Infernal Core (E):
    • Manacost increased from 5 to 20 when activating Infernal Core.


  • Energy Reversal (R):
    • Increased the AoE damage travel speed by 100%. It should now reach its maximum range (700) in 0.4 seconds.
    • Cooldown adjusted from 80 at all levels to 80/70/60 seconds.
    • Each charge gained when taking damage now has a duration of 25 seconds, increased from 8.




Zaku


  • Mana Regeneration per level (1-15) increased from (2.11-2.72) to (2.29-2.94).

  • Mending Pod (E):
    • Manacost adjusted from 80 at all levels to 50/55/60/65.
    • Cooldown adjusted from 6 at all levels to 7/6.5/6/5.5 seconds.

Bounder



  • Quickness:
    • Increases Movespeed by 4%.


  • Frostbite:
    • When you attack, Bounder slows target by 20% for 3 seconds.
    • Cooldown decreased from 16 to 14 seconds..


  • Slide (F):
    • Dash 500 distance in target direction.
    • Cooldown decreased from 120 to 100 seconds.




Fiki



  • Deflection:
    • Reduces incoming creep damage by 11-32 (scales with hero level).


  • Rejuvenate:
    • When hero is below 75% HP, heals by 55-125 (scales with hero level).
    • 40 second cooldown.


  • Taunt (F):
    • Target an enemy creep to have Fiki taunt enemies in a 450 AoE for 15 seconds. Fiki has 2000-9000 health (scales with hero level) & receives bonus damage from towers.
    • Cooldown decreased from 110 to 90 seconds.
    • Damage taken from enemy towers increased from 500% to 1000%.




Fitz



  • On The Prowl:
    • Increases movespeed by 10% while out of combat.


  • Bounty:
    • Upon killing an enemy hero, grants 130 bonus gold.
    • Cooldown decreased from 60 to 40 seconds.


  • Shadow Stalk (F):
    • Target enemy to deal 118-300 damage over 6.5 seconds while granting vision.
    • Cooldown decreased from 150 to 120 seconds.




Luster



  • Luster Touch:
    • Increases gold from creeps by 3 (increased from 2).


  • Greed is Good:
    • If you miss a killing blow, Luster gets it for you.
    • 15 second cooldown.


  • Blast (F):
    • Deal 700-1008 damage to an enemy creep (scales with hero level).
    • Cooldown now correctly displays 75 seconds (instead of 80) on the tooltip.




Mystik



  • Spell Mastery:
    • Increases Magic Damage by 6%.


  • Dive Bomb:
    • When your abilities affect an enemy, Mystik deals 20-68 Pure Damage (scales with hero level & power).
    • 16 second cooldown.


  • Inspiration (F):
    • Regenerate 93-135 mana over 0.5 seconds (scales with hero level).
    • Cooldown decreased from 120 to 105 seconds.




Pincer



  • Defense:
    • Increases Resistance by 6-20 (scales with hero level).


  • Retaliate:
    • When an enemy attacks you, Pincer deals 30-100 Pure Damage (scales with hero level & power).
    • 20 second cooldown.


  • Breakout (F):
    • Activate to remove all stuns/slows & provide 50% stun/slow reduction for 2 seconds.
    • 100 second cooldown.




Plunder



  • Resilience:
    • Increases Resistance by 6-20 (scales with hero level).


  • Pillage:
    • Attacking an enemy hero or structure grants 20 gold (increased from 15).
    • Cooldown decreased from 30 to 18 seconds. Tooltip previously displayed an incorrect cooldown of 20 seconds.


  • Promote (F):
    • Grants 5 allied brawlers +35 attackspeed, +75% base damage & 300-1245 health (scales with hero level) for 15 seconds.
    • Players now gain 20 gold for each creep kill made by a buffed brawler.
    • Cooldown decreased from 180 to 105 seconds.




Razer



  • Savagery:
    • Increases attack damage by 2.7-9 (scales with hero level).


  • Carnivorous Bite:
    • Your next attack on a hero heals you for 26-96 Health (scales with hero level & power).
    • Cooldown decreased from 16 to 14 seconds.


  • Into the Shadows (F):
    • Your hero spawns an illusion & enters stealth for 2.25 seconds. Stealth breaks if the illusion dies.
    • Cooldown decreased from 120 to 110 seconds. Tooltip previously displayed an incorrect cooldown of 180 seconds.




Tink



  • Augmented Repairs:
    • Increases Out-Of-Combat Regeneration by 3 Health & 1.5 Mana/sec.


  • Brace for Impact:
    • When stunned or slowed, gain 50% stun/slow reduction for 3 seconds.
    • Cooldown decreased from 40 to 25 seconds.
    • Stun/slow reduction now correctly displays 50% (instead of 40%) on the tooltip.


  • Enhance Defenses (F):
    • Grant a friendly tower +50% damage, +100 resistance & +100% splash damage against enemy brawlers for 8 attacks. Kills earned by the tower will be credited to you.
    • Cooldown decreased from 180 to 115 seconds.

  • Unleashed:
    • Increases Power by 6.6-15 (scales with hero level).


  • Immolate:
    • Deals 50-120 Pure Damage over 5 seconds to enemy heroes within 300 range (scales with hero level & power).
    • 18 second cooldown.


  • Tremble (F):
    • Activate to apply a 70% tapering slow to nearby enemy heroes within 500 AoE for 2.25 seconds.
    • Cooldown decreased from 120 to 105 seconds.




Tortus



  • Vitality:
    • Increases Max Health by 15%.


  • Harden:
    • Blocks 36-106 Damage from a hero's basic attack (scales with hero level).
    • 12 second cooldown.


  • Rejuvenate (F):
    • Regenerate 118-300 Health over 0.5 seconds (scales with hero level).
    • Cooldown now correctly displays 120 seconds (instead of 160) on the tooltip.




Zen



  • Wisdom:
    • Increases Cooldown Reduction by 13%.
    • This ability has been reworked. It previously increased Mana Regeneration by 2.7 (scaling with hero level).


  • Revitalize:
    • Prevents you from losing Out-of-Combat Regeneration for 5 seconds the next time you enter combat.
    • Cooldown decreased from 18 to 12 seconds.


  • Knowledge (F):
    • Target a position up to 3500 range to scout it. Gains vision & reveals enemies in a 700 AoE for 8 seconds.
    • Cooldown decreased from 70 to 35 seconds.

    • Fixed a bug that caused the Warding Enchantment to trigger its 50% Magic Damage reduction from abilities/items that deal Pure Damage.

UI:

  • Pets
    • Fixed a bug that caused locked pets to display incorrect ability tooltips. These were their level 1 tooltips (prior to the removal of pet leveling), giving those pets the appearance of having much weaker skills than their unlocked counterparts.

    • Fixed a bug that caused Moxie's Mastery Account Icon to be unavailable after the most recent patch.

Clubs Minor Balance Changes - Fiki's reign of terror comes to an end.



Clubs have been added to Strife. Use the community tools associated with clubs to identify your account with a group. Clubs allow for text & voice chat and a meeting place to build parties, teams, and bolster social interactions within the Strife playerbase.

Pet Balance Changes


Fiki

  • Deflection:
    • Creep damage reduction decreased from (15-43) to (11-32).


  • Rejuvenate:
    • Cooldown increased from 24 to 40 seconds.


  • Taunt:
    • Can no longer target enemy buildings.
    • Cooldown increased from 45 to 110 seconds.
    • Fiki's Max Health now scales correctly from level 1-15 instead of maxing out at level 9.

New Heroes


Pal

  • Trip Beam (Q):
    • Target direction to create a beam of energy.
    • If an enemy touches this beam, it triggers - dealing 80/110/140/170 Magic Damage and pushing away all nearby enemies.


  • Roll Out (W):
    • Activate to transform, granting increasing movespeed at the cost of reduced turning.
    • If you contact an enemy, deals 80/100/120/140 Magic Damage and stuns them for 1.3 seconds.
    • Taking damage slows down your movement.


  • Infernal Core (E):
    • Activate to begin dealing 25/30/35/40 Magic Damage/sec to nearby enemies.
    • Also grants 8/12/16/20 bonus resistance while active.
    • Costs 20 mana/sec.


  • Energy Reversal (R):
    • Passively reduces incoming damage by 9/12/15%, charging this ability as you take damage.
    • Activate to release all stored charges, dealing up to 270/360/450 Magic Damage to enemies around you.




Malph
  • Tunnel Bomb (Q):
    • Target direction to fire an underground missile.
    • Upon contacting an enemy, deals 65/90/115/140 Magic Damage and applies a minor slow in an area around the target.


  • Healing Rations (W):
    • Target ally to grant them a buff which heals them for 140/180/220/260 Health over 6 seconds.
    • Provides 20/30/40/50 resistance for the duration.


  • Mud Field (E):
    • Target area to create a mud field.
    • Enemies caught inside are slowed by 25%, have their attack speed reduced by 10/20/30/40%, and take 10/20/30/40% bonus damage from you.


  • The Underground (R):
    • Target location to create a Mole Hole.
    • By right-clicking a Mole Hole, you will channel for 1.4 seconds - entering the underground upon completion.
    • While underground, you can then target near any Mole Hole to return above ground at that location.

  • Trident Charge (Q): Bonus magic damage increased from 15/25/35/45 to 20/30/40/50 per charge.

  • Murder of Crows (E): Attack speed boost from activating abilities reduced slightly.

Patch Notes 1.0.6

Patch 1.0.6 brings the start of Season 2 along with matchmaking changes a new hero Aemon.

==New Hero==

Aemon

Sarkis Aemon is a Paladin from Nestra on a crusade against the Dharkwave, the worshippers of Sheol, or anyone who blasphemes the gods of Astora. After serving as the founder and leader of the Order of the Golden Crescent for many years, he has decided to enter the Trials of Strife to face his enemies directly and spread the truth about the divine power of the Astoran Plane.


Consecration (Q): Consecrate an area. The area will grant vision and remain consecrated until Aemon travels too far away.

Passive: Aemon’s attacks deal damage to enemies within Consecration.

Hope (W): Aemon gains a powerful resistance buff for a short duration.

Passive: Aemon’s attacks heal ally heroes within Consecration.

Courage (E): Aemon gains a burst of movespeed. If activated within consecration, the duration extends to 3 seconds. Upon activation, Aemon’s next three attacks slow the target.

Justice (R): Aemon calls down a pillar of light on him and on his Consecration, dealing damage to enemies.

Passive: Aemon’s attacks grant a charge of Justice. Enemy attacks consume a charge of Justice and deals damage back to the attacker.


==Matchmaking==

The party size cap of 3 has been removed. Now you can group with 5 of your friends and enter the queue.


==Season 2==

Season 2 has begun! It is set to run until October 11th. Prizes will be similar to Season 1 but with different icons and prize pools.

Patch 1.0.4 brings us the most radical wave riding Heroes of Strife, Eanu along with an awesome new Jin She gearset Iron Claw JinShe, some dyes for Bandit.0, Iah and Rip and several balance/gameplay changes. Make sure you check out your surfing skills with Eanu!


==Gameplay Changes==

Hero Kills
Killing heroes through ganking has become less rewarding since the introduction of larger creep waves, so we wanted to bring back the incentive.
Hero kill bounty increased from 250-500 (capped at lvl 11) to 300-650 (no lvl cap).

Disconnects
Disconnected players gold is shared among their team after 1:30 instead of 2:00.

Leaver Penalties
We heard the complaints about rating loss with leavers and have made it more beneficial for everyone who stays.
Leavers on a Winning team no longer gain rating, their rating boost is divided to the remaining players.
Leavers on a Losing team lose the same rating as before, but rating lost by the remaining players is reduced (by 50% for 1 leaver and by 100% for 2 or more leavers).


==New Hero==

Eanu

Eanu is a water elemental from the Forgotten Kingdom, a society deep beneath the frozen surface of the icy side of Tempra. As the champion of the Forgotten Kingdom, he is confident that he will be the greatest hero in the Trials of Strife.

Trident Charge (Q): Charge Eanu's trident up to 3 times, causing his next attack to deal bonus damage and apply a tapering slow (per charge) and also gain 100 range. When used on a Wet target, the bonus damage will splash units in a small radius.

Geyser (W): Target location to emit a geyser from Eanu's chest piece, dealing damage and pushing enemies away. Enemies hit by Geyser become Wet for 5 seconds.

Tidal Flow (E): Eanu channels the tide Inward and Outward, alternating each cast. Inward Tide restores Mana and grants Resistance. Outward Tide reduces nearby enemy’s Resistance significantly. Enemies hit by Outward Tide become Wet for 5 seconds.

Breaking Wave (R): Target location to ride a massive wave, dealing damage and stunning all enemies hit by the crashing wave. Enemies touched by Breaking Wave become Wet for 5 seconds.

Towers/Generators/Crux
We’re liking the increased pacing of the game resulting from spells hitting towers. Now we’ll look to reduce some of the cheesy stuff. Backdooring is definitely a strategy we try to keep from becoming too strong, so we’ll ask you to bring a creep wave or stand in the line of fire yourself if you want to nuke towers.
-All buildings have 300 resistance unless enemy units are within tower attack range.


Buford
Exploding slugs gave Buford another powerful tool to add to his arsenal, but we think he needs toned down a bit.
-Poison Slug - Explosion damage reduced from 100/150/200/300 to 100/140/180/220.
-Poison Slug - CD increased by 3 seconds and damage reduced on ammo by 5.
-Fire Slug - Deals 50% damage to towers.
-The Buford Special - Reveals enemy targets.

The intent of Unstable Shard is to be high risk and high reward, so we’re going to try making the risk more consistent. Also, CDR made this item usable way too often, so thats no longer the case.
-Unstable Shard will deal its damage at end of any ongoing invulnerability states.
-Effective base cooldowns increased to 60 seconds, which starts AFTER the effect expires.

Patch Notes 1.0

Patch 1.0 introduces the ability to hit towers with spells, Rip, the stealthy swordsman from Gael, along with a new pet Zen, three incredibly powerful new items, balance changes and bug fixes. Be sure to test your skills with Rip and see how the new items affect the game!

==Game Mechanics==

Towers
Towers now take damage from abilities.
(We felt that abilities flying through towers didn’t really make much sense. I mean...why would a rocket hit a floating cat, but not a tower? This change should increase the pace of the game and give more fun interactions like Midknight being able to hook himself over to a tower.)

Resistance
Resistance can no longer go below zero.
(We’re pretty happy with how easy it is to kill a squishy target at 0 resistance, so we added a clamp.)

==New Hero==

Rip
Rip, swordsman of the wastes, hails from a mysterious tribe of Elves – the Kenar-Ahdam – that eek out an existence in the ruins of Strife where they have been effectively exiled to by the other races of Gael as a result of suspicions that they are half-Dharkwave/half-Elf. Rip, second son of Mhernad, ventured forth to join in the Trials of Strife in order to win himself a place within his tribe, and his tribe a place amongst the rest of the races of the planes.

Smoke Cloud (Q): Target area to create a smoke cloud, reducing enemy resistance and drastically lowering their vision. While inside the cloud, Rip is stealthed until you deal damage or use an ability.

Vanish (W): Target area to vanish for 1 second, then reappear at the target location. Upon reappearing, deal damage in the target area.

Dark Empowerment (E): (Passive Skill) Every 5th attack charges your blade. Once charged, your next attack deals bonus attack damage. Avoiding enemy vision instantly charges your blade.

Nether Strike (R): Target direction to dash, attacking all enemies you pass through. If you hit at least 1 enemy, you may cast this ability again for up to 6 seconds - up to a total of 3 times.

==New Pet==

Zen

Wisdom (Passive): Increases mana regeneration. (scales with hero level)

Revitalize (Passive-Active): Prevents going into combat for 5 seconds when out of combat.

Knowledge (Active): Target a position to send Zen flying over it revealing the area for 8 seconds.

Eye Of Tempra (5665)
10% Cooldown Reduction
10 Mana/sec.
Activate: Cast a frozen sphere at target location. Everything that is hit by or touches the sphere is frozen and unable to take damage. This includes everything except for Baldir, Cindara and Krytos.
Sundering +250 - Cast immediately at your location, radius increased.


Dark Bargain (6035)
+25 Attack Damage
Activate: Spend 400 gold to gain +25 Attack Damage for 8 seconds. No cooldown. Can be stacked. After the 8 seconds, you retain 5 attack damage permanently for each stack.
Diligence +500 - Increased duration by 2 seconds.
Restraint +0 - Spend 250 to gain +15 Attack Damage, but no permanent damage.


Unstable Shard (5665)
Each kill/assist grants a 15% reduction of current cooldowns.
Activate: Instantly regenerate 1000 mana and gain 500 additional max mana and 75% cd reduction for 9 seconds. On expiration, you take 1500 pure damage and deal 250 damage to nearby enemies.
Greed +1000 - Increased to 90% cd reduction, self damage increased by 750
Wisdom +750 - Refreshes all abilities on activation, and you will die no matter what.


Immortal Gaze (REWORK)
Grants 20% additional Max Health.
Passive-Active: Upon death, you will be revived with 15% Health and Mana. 180 second CD.

Patch 0.9.16

Patch 0.9.16 introduces us to Buford, the slug shooting swamp creature from Lyrie, along with balance changes and attack timing tweaks to make Strife even more fun no matter which hero you play. Utilize Buford’s ever changing fighting style to win no matter what situation you might find yourself in!

==New Hero==

Buford
Buford is an amphibious swamp creature from the backwoods of Lyrie. His interests include trappin’ critters, defending his property, befriending bugs, and polishing his shotgun. Normally content to spend his time in the bayou, Buford has set off to defend the freedom of Lyrie in the interplanar struggle that is the Trials of Strife.

Poison Slug (Q): Target location to launch a poison slug the upon impact creates a cloud of toxic fumes. Fumes slow all enemies and reduce their resistance. Buford now fires Toxic Ammo that cause his attacks to deal bonus damage. Only one Ammo type can be active.

Fire Slug (W): Target location to fire blazing fast fire slugs that create a trail of fire. Enemies take moderate damage per second while in the fire. Buford now fires Flame Ammo that cause his attacks to deal splash damage. Only one Ammo type can be active.

Leech (E): Buford throws leeches at target location, which attach to the closest enemy, stealing health in 3 waves. Buford now fires Leech Ammo that cause his attacks to lifesteal. Only one Ammo type can be active.

The Buford Special (R): Target enemy to launch a cage, dealing a small % of the target's max health and trapping the enemy for several seconds. The cage has health equal to 1/3 of Buford's and can be attacked by anyone.

==Hero Balance Changes==

-Auto attack speed increased by 100 ms.

Bastion
-The Chosen One (R): Damage reduced from 200,260,320 to 180,240,300.

-Fixed issue with it giving wrong amount of power.

-Lightning strikes every 5 attacks. No longer % chance based.
-Bounce range reduced by 50.

Iceforged Plate
-Resistance reduced from 30 to 15.
-Mitigation increased from 20 to 30.
-Attack speed slow reduced from 25% to 20%.

Golden Protector
-Resistance reduced from 15 to 10.
-Mitigation increased from 10 to 15.

Giant's Visage
-Resistance increased from 10 to 15.

Strife 0.9.11.6 Patch Notes

We have just patched Strife with a hotfix for the following issues:


  • Fixed an issue with the Brazilian Portuguese language that caused no text to show.
  • Fixed a crash during Caprice's Story and the Rescue Auros tutorials.

We have also added a bug-report forum to our Steam Community discussions. Please feel free to post any issues you come across.
