Bug fixes:
- fixed a bug where players in EU could not Astral Project to the Frost Trials
- fixed a bug where scoring a high score in frost trials could remove your gauntlet score, and vice versa. Restored any scores we know of that were lost this way
- Fixed several small bugs with the Frost Trials
- Nerfed ring of alchemy at high waves of minigames. In its old state, it was possible to do infinite scores in Frost Trials. this should be less noticeable in the Gauntlet but it will be a nerf there as well.

Hi Wanderers, The Frost Trials minigame is now live and available to play! Compete with your fellow wanderers to secure the mysterious keystones - all in the name of Science. Will you make a name for yourself and secure a spot on the global leaderboards? The Frost Trials are held deep inside the Water Domain. To access the Frost Trials now, use the portal (Astral Projector) located in the Gauntlet lobby. It will open up a map - click on the portal icon on the map to be teleported to the new Frost Trials lobby! Note - you must have defeated the order boss already in order to access the Portal. Hi Wanderers, This was a big week for the community as we witnessed new all-time highs scores in the Gauntlet. It seems like that the water biome with its unique gear and infusion potential is very powerful. On our side, we have been working hard to test and prepare the brand new minigame Frost Trials for release! Here are some details about Frost Trials and a few bugfixes. Frost Trials
The Frost Trials minigame is set to launch this Thursday! This will be an update to Mythic Origins and will be accessible to all players for free. We've had a lot of fun testing it internally and can't wait for you all to try it out. Get ready for Mythic's first multiplayer minigame where you must traverse an increasingly dangerous ice terrain - for the good of the realm! Here's a sneak peak at the Frost Trials lobby in-game:

Bugfixes
- Added detailed info to the Mortal Blade tooltip. Now you can tell what its max damage is when you're at 1 health.
- Fixed a game-breaking bug that occurred when you get logged out for inactivity while on the death screen and try to log back in.
Gauntlet - Global Leaderboards
Once again, players pushed the boundaries with brand new all-time highs in both NA and EU. Here are the current standings for the NA server: Ozymandias continues their reign with 65 waves survived. Yours truly (PoroTime) rises from 7th to 3rd place All-Time, now tied with Raokar.

Here are the current standings for the EU server: Wain leads globally with 66 waves survived, a new high. Pantherus rises from 5th to 3rd place All-Time.

Hi Wanderers, We hope you've been enjoying the new Water Domain room! I've been struggling to find a Winter's Bite these past few days but I'm sure I'll get lucky (with my divine infused Treasure Hunter's Flask). We have been working on the water biome recently, especially the new minigame we announced The Frost Trials - we can't wait to share more details with you the closer we get to its launch next week! I want to try something new today and share a bit more of what goes on behind-the-scenes - specifically some of our work designing the Water Domain - let me know what you think! Recolors
One of the challenges we faced early on while developing Mythic was creating a color palette for each of the unique biomes in order to create a distinct aesthetic for each. Specifically, finding a color that matches both the feel that we are going for in the biome as well as the designs of the unique mob/boss - and the need to achieve this without clashing with the existing mobs' color palette. After a lot of trial-and-error in GIMP, we finally found a color palette for the tiles that we liked, though this did result in us changing the colors for the slime mob (slightly). We're really happy with how the tiles ended up - here's a comparison of how the Water Domain looked like pre-recolor (you can also see a lot of the pre-recolor mobs, too) vs how it looks now: Tiles then:

Water boss
The water boss is the Avatar of the Water Domain and will be part of our full release. We can't wait for all of you to experience fighting (and dying to) this boss - we had a lot of fun designing it. For all the domains, we modeled the boss to be a bigger, scarier, and more powerful version of a mob present in that domain. (Find any similarities between the fire wisp and the fire boss? Take a second look!) Our initial designs of the water boss had legs - we quickly removed these to be more consistent with the slime mob. There's also another small (but important) tweak we did in the face design between the old and the new one, see if you can find it below! Water boss before:

Gauntlet - Global Leaderboards
Another exciting week in the Gauntlet as we have players pushing the boundaries with brand new all-time highs in both NA and EU. Here are the current standings for the NA server: Ozymandias secured a new best score, but Raokar quickly matched.

Hey Wanderers, This week we have been working hard on - you guessed it - the Water Biome! Since we had to delay our launch, we want to make up for that by providing what content is ready as early as possible for Origins players. Please find detailed notes below on today's major update.
Water Domain
We have added the first room of the Water Domain - this is one of the major elemental biomes in Mythic. You can access the Water Domain by travelling west. Here are some of the new things you'll find:
- Ice puzzle - navigate the slippery terrain to access powerful rewards!
- Infuser - new upgrading station (similar to the Forge) that will upgrade the rarity of an item.
- Slime - unique mob to the Water Domain. Beware the bounce!
- A brand new npc, a new quest, powerful new items, and much more

The Frost Trials
We are also working on a Water Domain minigame that is going to be added to Origins in around 2 weeks. We're really excited for you guys to try this out! This new minigame, called the Frost Trials, will also feature a global leaderboard, similar to the Gauntlet minigame. In an effort to bring Mythic in front of new audiences and increase visibility, we're also going to be launching the minigame with it's own Steam page, too.
Minor Balance and Bug Fixes
- Damage reflect now occurs after taking damage yourself, not before.
- Damage reflect on the fire set reduced by half.
- Low level mites nerfed
- Key room mobs nerfed. Should be easier picking up a key for new players.
- Load times upon game launch should be much faster.

Hi Wanderers, We have an important announcement today about the launch of our full game, Mythic: We have been working 12+ hour days every day to try to get everything ready in time for release. There's nothing more important to us than delivering what we promise. But it's become clear to us that we have to choose between not delivering when we wanted to and not delivering what we wanted to. We've made the difficult decision to delay the release (originally set for Aug 24th) rather than release something on time that isn't ready. Our new launch date for Mythic will be Thursday, September 29th. Were sorry to make you guys wait but we promise its going to be worth it. An update on what we're working on: For the past 2.5 weeks, we've been working on networking. The good news is we've made huge progress, and large parts of the game are now playable even with 500+ ping. The bad news is, some parts are still not finished. We need to spend a little bit more time on this before we're happy with the result. For now, we're going to take a little break from working on networking and focus on finishing up the water biome. Mostly this means implementing animations, sounds, and quests. We also have some ideas about a minigame we'd like to add to the water biome, so we'll spend some time on that. We think all this should take about a week. Once we're done, the first room of the water biome will open up, and Origins players will have access to some new gear and a new crafting station! After that we'll get back to networking for (hopefully) another week. Finally we'll spend a week localizing the game into all the other languages and finishing controller support. Hi Wanderers, It's been a really busy few weeks for the two of us here as we near the launch of Mythic! In the past few weeks we have been working on a number of big changes, some of which we have pushed out already. We've also shared current leaderboard standings for NA and EU at the bottom of this post! First for the updates: Here are the updates:
UI Updates
We had complaints that the text in-game was too small or blurry - sometimes we were using different fonts in different places for no good reason, and this made the game harder to get into, especially for new players.
- Following this update, the text should be very easy to read on any screen/window size.
- We also made a number of improvements to menus. They should now resize smoothly, without forcing elements on top of each other. Scrollable elements should be scrollable by mousing over them (you won't have to click inside first like before).
Map Updates
- We have implemented a World View on the map - this is something we had planned for a while.
- There's now a button at the bottom-right of the map that lets you switch to this view. The World View shows a zoomed out view where you can see all the domains explored.
- In Mythic Origins, this world view will be somewhat empty, as players will have access to a maximum of only two domains.
- In the full game Mythic, this World View will be very helpful (and frankly necessary) as you can explore an infinite number of domains.
- Also added a 'friend is here' icon to the map legend.

Bugfixes
Fixed in recent weeks:
- Fixed a bug where holding down movement keys and opening a menu would keep you moving even while in the menu
- Fixed a bug where 'enter the gauntlet' objective would show up briefly even after you entered the gauntlet and then died
- Fixed a bug where the blood pact could prevent players from opening inventory to unequip
Future Plans
We are working hard on networking to improve hit and collision registration and responsiveness - and will continue to work on this until it feels great for all players. We're also putting the finishing touches on the elemental biomes. Our work is cut out for us till launch, which is just 9 days away! Hi Wanderers, We have a wealth of new updates to share for Mythic Origins! First we'd like to thank everyone again for downloading and trying the game out. It brings us immense joy to see people in-game, doing quests, and competing for the leaderboards every day. =] We've also shared current leaderboard standings for NA and EU at the bottom of this post! First for the updates:
Features
- We have completely overhauled the instancing and loot system in-game. To summarize:
- If no one has entered a room for 10-15 minutes, the room will now hard reset, meaning it will be procedurally generated again from scratch and will have brand new chest loot.
- Rarity is now a feature of a room instead of being a feature of a chest, as it was previously.
- Rooms have a chance to spawn as COMMON, UNCOMMON, or RARE.
- Looting a room lowers its rarity rating: if it is RARE it is immediately lowered to UNCOMMON, if it is UNCOMMON it can be looted 50 times before being lowered to COMMON. Each chest looted in a room contributes towards this number.
- Certain factors can increase base rarity when receiving an item, including using a Treasure Hunter's Flask and/or a chest being gold (this can stack).
- The rarity of a room will not reset just because the room resets
- The rarity of a room will always upgrade once per day, from COMMON > UNCOMMON or UNCOMMON > RARE. This upgrade will never bring the rarity of the room higher than the original room rarity when it spawned.
- Added brand new death screen. Now, upon death, there will be a pop-up detailing what killed you as well as a relevant gameplay tip.

- Added customizable keybinds to the settings menu.

- Added a checkpoint in the gauntlet lobby. This will now be visible to people who have killed the first boss.
- Added automated crash reporting. Crash logs will now be sent to us automatically instead of us needing to ask for them.
Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug where checkpoint icon wouldn't show up in the map
- Fixed a visual bug with the lever puzzle
- Fixed a bug where champion's mail could permalock players in the boss room

Hi Wanderers, Thank you to everyone who has downloaded and played Mythic Origins so far! It has been amazing and a bit overwhelming to see so many people enjoy something the two of us here have worked years on. Our small Discord community has also grown over 50% since launch, too! We have received a lot of useful feedback that we are jotting down and working on implementing by our full game Mythic's launch. If you play Mythic Origins and have some feedback or would like to report a bug, there are multiple ways to reach out to us:
- Use the 'Leave Feedback' button from the main menu of Mythic Origins
- Join our Discord and leave feedback in the #beta-feedback channel
- Leave a comment in the Steam Discussions forum
- On launch day, we released a day 1 patch with a number of bugfixes, a buff to the rampage ring, and the ability to choose your server (NA or EU) the first time you launch the game.
- To change your server after you have already picked one, here are the steps (we are going to make this easier in a future update):
- find your saved settings (usually under something like C:/Users/YourName/.prefs/mythic_saved_data
- open that and delete the line that has the server address, and relaunch the game
- it will now ask you to choose a server again
- We have deployed another update since that should improve performance when 'lag compensation' setting is set to 'ON'. We are going to continue improving both lag compensation and responsiveness in-game and will keep you updated.
- We will typically do a server refresh every day at around midnight Eastern Time - during this time the server will be down for around 10 - 15 minutes. There will be a warning in-game as well as in the main menu letting players know when server maintenance will begin.
- After every server refresh, chests will reset with brand new items. Happy looting!

Mythic Origins is out now! This is a free, content-limited version of Mythic. Mythic Origins is an action-packed experience filled with enemies, loot, a cool boss fight, and a gauntlet minigame with a global leaderboard.
