Well... I said there would be no more demo updates, but this was necessary because the in-game help was a bit broken after all the last changes I made. New features
Hi everyone! Here a new update of Planetary Life demo, and this time yes! This will be the last one unless I have to do some hot fixes related to bugs or balancing. No more new features, no more additions until the game gets released :-) In this new update you will find the following: New features

This is the last demo before the game gets released in Early Access! I will only do updates on this demo to fix big issues. This means... the release of the game is coming! However, the release date is still undefined, but we can start saying is coming soon! New features
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since the last update!
Over the past few months, I have been working on something totally new and unexpected.
This was out of the original scope of the game, but it was requested from some people and decided to add it.
It was more challenging than expected, specially in terms of gameplay.
I could have taken the usual approach of player controlling one cell in an arcade-style game. moving around the scenario, feeding, evading larger cells and eventually evolving into something bigger.
However, this didn't match with the original philosophy of the game, where you have full control of a planet and its ecosystem, therefore you are not just controlling one creature or specie, but everything!
So, this cell stage was designed as a kind of Petri dish, where you will find a variety of cells moving, reproducing and evolving.
As a player, you can influence them and and guide their evolution manually.
At some point, basic cells will evolve into multicellular life forms, and later, when those are enough evolved, you will be able to evolve one more time and create a macroscopic life form ending this stage.
The outcome could be a creature, a plant or a fungi with different properties based on the evolved multicellular properties.
Optionally, you can ignore this part and just create some basic life forms in the planet using a template. Although, these templates won't cover all the possibilities.
For now, this part won't be included in the current demo, but I hope everyone enjoys this new feature when the game is released.
Changes
I know it's been a while, I'm sorry!
But it's for a good reason... a new rendering system!
What that means? Well... I added a new camera to the game that allow players to walk and explore planet's surface!
Because of this, I needed to rebuild the whole rendering system of the game, and also redo many of the assets, because initially were designed for a top-down view but now you can watch them from any angle.
Also, I fully implement the vegetation system including allowing the players to evolve them and generate procedural plants and trees.
Along with this demo, there are many other changes and improvements, but I will summary them in the following release note.
I hope you enjoy this new version of the demo!
I promise that the next version will be released sooner!

The demo of Planetary Life is out now! You can already experience a small portion of the game and we're excited for you to try it out. It's important to know that this demo is from an early access game, so it stills requires polishing, bug fixing, game balancing and adding more features. We're committed to making improvements, and your feedback is incredibly important to us! Any bugs, aspects you dislike, or if you simply wish to share your enthusiasm about the game, feel free to do so in the discussion area or in our official Discord. Disclaimer! Please be aware that in addition to encountering bugs, this demo does not feature all the components planned for the final game. Not included features: - Simulation and evolution of plants (includes highly simplified version of the plants). - Several types of food that depended on plants: pollen, flowers and fruits. - The gases of the planet, although present, have no effect on the creatures for the moment. - This demo contains 58 different components to evolve creatures only. The final game will have much more. - The cell stage is not available in this demo. - The civilization stage is not available in this demo. - In this demo is not possible to Save/Load the game. I hope you enjoy this demo and we await your valuable feedback and your wishlist on Steam! Thank you for playing!
