I hope everyone who has picked up Rocket has enjoyed it so far! I truly believe that the gameplay loop for the game is perfect for those short periods you just want to unwind and knock down some enemy ships and asteroids. That is why I am officially putting us up for the "Sit Back and Relax" award nomination. If you have enjoyed my game, please consider giving it a nomination!

The issue involving Controllers not always working has now been fixed. Occasionally when starting up the game it would not recognize the controller, but it would if you turned it on after you launched the game. The game originally had Steam Input opted into for the various controllers. This has been turned off and fixed the issue. If you are still having issues, please make sure that Steam Input is not turned on. If you have any suggestions, bugs or issues - feel free to reach out via the Steam Forums or on Discord.

A minor update, but an important one when it comes to the music. The game's soundtrack has been updated with new music! This includes a new Adventure style music while exploring The Wild Open and a new gameplay piece for playing any of the main game modes. Along with this new music, the game has gotten a few performance changes to help improve the game in various spots so that it performs better. This should help provide a smoother experience for all! Speaking of the Soundtrack, on June 27th, the official "Rocket! Soundtrack" will be released on Steam. You can wishlist it now in advance if you want to purchase it. Check out the link below! Rocket! Soundtrack
The next big update for Rocket is now here! With version 1.3.0, you can find a brand new game mode called Survive - a challenging mode where you start out with limited rockets & health points and must do whatever you can to survive. Each new level will give you an upgrade choose, so choose wisely. This new update adds a whole bunch of new additions and changes to the game:
Can you believe it's now been one month since Rocket launched on Steam? I've been very happy with the results so far and wanted to help highlight all the recent additions to the game. Since Rocket launched on February 19th, the game has gotten the following new features and updates:
A new update is now here! This update adds 2 new Weapons to the game as well as giving Controller users the ability to remap their Controller config with a new Controller Setup option popup. Want to use the d-pad to fire weapons? Want to switch which button slows down your ship or which fires the Bombs? You can now fully do it!
The first new weapon is called Dual Rockets, which actually once existed in the game during the early Playtest version of the game before being replaced by the Bubble Blaster. This new version fires multiple rockets in dual pairs. As you apply extra Dual Rocket upgrades to your ship, your rockets will multiply and become more powerful.
The second new weapon is a new bomb type called Rocket Bomb. As the name suggested, when this goes off it will shoot off a bunch of rockets all around it. Similar to the other two bomb types, this bomb can be upgraded and will become more powerful sending off more rockets in all directions.
Lastly, with these new weapons comes a new change to the Space Station where you upgrade your ship. You are only allowed 4 weapons and 2 bombs at a time. On the left side of the screen you can change which weapon / bomb you would like equipped. Any weapon that is equipped but not actually upgraded on the right side will be greyed out to help visualize that you won't be able to use it. The same will apply for the right side if a weapon is upgraded but you didn't actually equip it on the left side. So choose wisely which weapons and bombs you would like to use!
The next big update for Rocket is now available! This update introduces the new Arcade Mode to the game. Unlike the other 3 game modes (Classic, Cadet, Galactic Hero), you will start with no upgrades each new play session. With just sing shot rockets at your disposal, you will need to survive in the deadly vastness of space. As you start shooting down asteroids and enemies, Upgrade pop ups will appear in the game allowing you to power up instantly. Each new playthrough will be completely random and chaotic and should bring about a lot of fun. This new update also adds 3 brand new Achievements to the game. Each of the new Achievements is related to playing the new game mode. I'm looking forward to everyone unlocking these new achievements and playing the game.
This new update brings about some minor adjustment and additions to the game, including:
Thank you to everyone who bought and played Rocket within the last week. I am excited to see how people feel about the game going forward and all that it brings. I have gotten pretty good feedback and spent the week updating the game. Here are all the changes added:
