Hello SpaceSloggers! It's that time again and we have released another demo for everyone to play for the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest here on Steam. You can grab it below! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3148980/SpaceSlog_Demo/
Hey everyone,
Our last demo was released back in September where we received some really good feedback. Since then we have been working on improving the game and making changes based on that feedback given.
We will be releasing our next demo for the City Builder & Colony Sim fest here on Steam which kicks off on the 24th March. We hope many of you will give the game another go and continue to report back any information you have when playing, be it good or bad.
A few highlights for the next build include a new improved combat system. This however is currently just melee with ranged combat coming later. We have added a new health system, which again will continue to be improved throughout the life of the product.
Lots of improvements have been made to all aspects of the game. Aeroponics and growing being one of these which should now prove to be a reliable source of nutrition.
Menus have also seen some love and polish.
One of such improvements from feedback is a way to see aggroed creatures. Any creatures (or humans) that are attacking your crew will now show a red indicator above them, making it much easier to see them, even from afar.
For the new combat we have added various new weapons. (Again please note, ranged combat will come later)
There's also been many more improvements and still much more to come, so please make sure to follow our socials, wishlist the game if you have not done so already and join our discord to keep up to date.
- Marcus
Hello space farers! We will be leaving the demo up until Monday 16th, which only gives you a few more days to play. We don't plan on releasing another demo for quite a few months now so you should try and explore the universe of SpaceSlog whilst you still can. Don't forget to leave your suggestions and feedback if you want to help guide development. Only a few people so far has left any feedback so I can only assume we are doing an absolutely amazing job, which I find hard to believe! Those that have, I have been constantly updating the demo to try and address issues and bugs reported. If you have already played, you may want to give it another go since a lot of updates have been made to the game. I will list the full changelog below of changes/fixes that have been made since the demo has been live. v 0.8.3.3
Hello everyone. Today i have released a playtest of SpaceSlog here on Steam. If you would like to help test the game then please feel free to go over the store page and request access. I will be adding more people periodically over the course of the next week. The playtest will run until next Monday 2nd September, at which point i will be releasing a demo. Please keep in mind that this is to help test and offer feedback on the current progress and state of the game, so please only apply if you wish to help test and report issues. If you only want to try the game then please wait for us to release a demo.
Hey everyone. Today we released our announcement trailer for SpaceSlog. Please let us know what you think. [previewyoutube=bMqEFdiGyHY;full][/previewyoutube]
Whilst working on the atmosphere and gas systems I thought I should balance how I expect a small ship to look like, what components it would have and how much power and air it would need to be a fully functioning space ship.
Here is a ship with a generator, console, transponder, life support system, thruster and then all the cables, ducting and vents required for everything to work and keep the crew safe. I suspect these items will need to support at least 3 crew members but will be fairly inefficient once you start to build larger ships, meaning you will need to build different components and plan out how you will lay your cables, ducting and ventilation as your ship grows. This will be especially important when you consider things like maintenance and combat situations.
Don't forget you can head over to the discussions section of the game if you have any questions.
In this dev video we briefly ramble on about the atmosphere systems in SpaceSlog, amongst other things. [previewyoutube=2YRLu0Qe94I;full][/previewyoutube] The atmosphere systems are now mostly done and our focus has been turned to Ai.
In this months development video we discuss upgrading to Godot 4, a few new features in the game and how many wishlists we have acquired over the last couple of weeks. You can view the video below over on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_FjULyDGOM
Yesterday our Steam page went live for our first indie game project SpaceSlog. Scavenge for supplies, build your spaceship, nurture your crew and explore a procedurally generated universe.
