Now its getting ready to crawl onto Steam on May 3rd (PDT) / May 4th (AEST)! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2211730/KILLBUG/ (See how crawl worked as a bug joke and a baby joke? There are layers here, people.) [previewyoutube=oMi3ry2pQpE;full][/previewyoutube] KILLBUG is a fast-paced, first-person movement shooter set in an endless arena. Slash and shoot your way through hordes of ravenous insects, mastering fluid aerial movement mechanics as you fight for glory on the leaderboards.

Screencheat Publishing + Soundtrack Update

Hey everybody! Were happy to announce that Screencheat is now fully self-published by Samurai Punk, allowing us to finally declare this game to be 100% indie AF. To celebrate, our talented musician Psilatron (formerly ana_mana) has graced us with a slew of hot new tracks to update the Screencheat soundtrack! These five bonus tracks were inspired by the sounds and vibes of the Nintendo 64-era, particularly Goldeneye 64 which were told was pretty popular. Theres also dope new cover artwork.

  • Made bots better with Hobby Horse and Bear Bomb
  • Updated old assets in Garden
  • Added Ivy asset to Temple to help diversify the sides of the green path
  • Re-arranged paintings on Manor to help distinguish vague areas
  • Increased the resolution of some level textures

  • As a result of the new shader lighting quality and resolution has been improved slightly on all maps
  • Trappeur bolts now have a small amount of vertical velocity when fired to give them a slightly parabolic path
  • Added coloured lightning effect to Trappeur’s laser
  • Improved Trappeurs bending to clip through walls less
  • Changed wall_Hacker laser sight to be a dotted line to help distinguish it as non-lethal
  • Tweaked godrays to improve CPU performance

  • Improvements to AI movement, especially while jumping or using jump pads
  • Significantly improved static UI efficiency for better performance

Known Issues
  • Some players may have issues connecting a mix of X-Input and Direct Input controllers

  • Creating and leaving a LAN room may prevent players from being able to create or join LAN or online games until they close and re-open the game
Thanks for your help reporting and tracking these problems down. Happy screencheating! Much Love, Samurai Punk <3

3.0.0 Anniversary Update

Screencheat Anniversary Update We launched Screencheat a year ago and what better way to celebrate than with another major update including some of the dream features on our wishlist! Headlining this update is the localisation of the game into six languages. Now you can cheat in French, German, Spanish, Russian, Dutch or Portuguese as well as English. We’ve also added AI bots into Screencheat. This will give you someone to play against while you wait for your friends to come online and to allow small playgroups to experience larger games. And for experienced Screencheaters, you’ll be able to find a serious challenge with the Dreamcrusher AI difficulty. The AI are able to be mixed in with online and local players and will be replaced when players join mid game. We hope you enjoy them! Rounding out the major additions are LAN play for all you competitive players out there and a new map, bringing the total to eleven. Museum II brings some of the familiar design elements from the original Museum across whilst giving it a more vertical and competitive feel to make the map great for new players as well as screencheating veterans. We can’t quite believe how fast this year has gone and how far the game has come from the initial version we launched. Additions

  • AI Bots for online and offline play, with three difficulty levels. Bots settings can be modified in the lobby. Individual bots can be selected and tweaked in the lobby.
  • Added localisation for German, French, Spanish, Russian, Dutch and Portuguese

  • New map: Museum II
  • 4 Ragdolls including the Cat/Snake/Duck/Mannequin unlocked at levels 3/12/17/22
  • New mutators: SlowMo Kills, Ice Skates

  • Added support for Steam Controllers REQUIRES STEAM BETA CLIENT (For the best experience play in Big Picture)
  • Added Legacy and Legacy Southpaw control schemes for controllers
  • Added latency/ping indicator in scoreboard and end-game screen
Fixes and Improvements
  • Steeple visuals have been tweaked slightly and are now slightly nicer and more optimised.
  • Garden visuals have been cleaned up removing some visible seams and adding some better materials.
  • Emir now has railings to help stop players from falling to their deaths so much in some areas.
  • Fix “Press (X) to drop” prompt not appearing properly
  • Raised the maximum score cap on Juggernaut to 50
  • Fixed issue where editing profile name with WASD keys could navigate the menu
  • Updated Chefolet crosshair to animate showing charge progress

3.0.0 Anniversary Update

Screencheat Anniversary Update We launched Screencheat a year ago and what better way to celebrate than with another major update including some of the dream features on our wishlist! Headlining this update is the localisation of the game into six languages. Now you can cheat in French, German, Spanish, Russian, Dutch or Portuguese as well as English. Weve also added AI bots into Screencheat. This will give you someone to play against while you wait for your friends to come online and to allow small playgroups to experience larger games. 2.1.7 Patch - XInput and Custom Controllers

Hi everyone! We’ve added XInput support (enabled by default) which will now allow for rumble on XInput devices and should support more controllers out of the box. This will also fix the issues with Xbox One controllers on Windows 10. Players who used custom controller bindings will need to disable XInput in the game settings menu, as they are not supported by XInput. Please let us know if you guys have any issues going forward with controllers or binding. Also, we’d like to apologise for the frequency of patches recently and for accidentally giving, then removing, the Deluxe Edition DLC from users who did not own it previously. This was due to a mistake we made and should now be resolved. Users who own the Deluxe Edition should still have the soundtrack so let us know if you don’t see it. As thanks to everyone who has put up with our $#*& over the last week, we’ve made you a cool new Revolver Rifle skin! [img=http://samuraipunk.info/files/capture_1024.png] We really appreciate your continued support and feedback on the game. You’ve all been incredibly helpful in helping us to improve the game and give you the best possible experience. Thank you! :) Bugfixes and Improvements (Including 2.1.6 hotfixes)

  • Controller rumble added to all weapons and to certain player actions. If you don’t enjoy the rumble, you can disable it by turning off Screen Shake in the game options. (There’ll be a separate option in a future patch.)
  • Xbox One controllers now use XInput and will not drift to the left in menus on Windows 10. Note that this drifting will reoccur if you disable XInput.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes slow down or crash after startup
  • Fixed an issue where training dummies would spawn at strange angles on some maps
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when a player left during during game start or restart. This showed as all players seeing the preview camera overlaid with the in game GUI.
  • Fixed an issue where Windows 10 users weren’t loading their profiles from the Steam Cloud, or having any other Steam functionality. This may have made some players think they had lost their profiles, but no such loss occurred.
  • Steam Achievements now appear in the Steam Overlay immediately upon unlocking them.
Known Issues:
  • Xbox One controllers in XInput mode show Xbox 360 style controller button icons

Screencheat Update 2.0 - The Omega

Hello everyone! Welcome to another huge Screencheat update. We've added new maps, a weapon, a game mode, team modes for everything, and heaps more!

2 New Maps Added

Temple - A beautiful zen temple featuring jump pads, vent shortcuts and super high vantage points. Loop - A gravity defying map with a track running around the outside which the players follow all the way until the map flips and loops around back to the top, all set to a serene starlit vista.

New Weapon Added - The wall_Hacker

This new gun fires through walls as the name implies with a near infinite range. It can be either blindfired or charged to show a laser sight which can easily pin-point other players on their screens. The wall_Hacker is a precision weapon with a long reload time so aim your shots carefully.

New Game Mode - Gold Rush

Gold Rush pits players against each other in short rounds where the map is filled with gold coins. Players must collect as many coins as they can within the time limit to win. If you’re killed holding any coins you will drop half of them, allowing other players to rush in and claim your stash!

Support for up to 8 players Locally and Online

Lobbies can be created for 8 players, or switched into 8 player mode under the Lobby Settings menu. Local Lobbies now contain the Lobby Settings tab to support this.

Team Variant of All Modes (ex. Juggernaut)

All modes (excluding Juggernaut) now have team variants which allow for 2-4 teams to play against each other. These can be customised and saved as custom modes just like standard modes.

Mutators

We’ve added 13 crazy Mutators which can be applied to any mode via the GameMode settings menu in the Lobby.

Online Improvements

Kick Voting - Players can now vote to kick each other from servers. They will be kicked if a majority votes for a single player to be kicked. Switching Host - The host is able to select any remote player in their lobby and assign them as host.

We Just Rolled Out An Update!

On Monday we released an update that adds in a brand new map, and a new game mode, along with several fixes and tweaks. Those on Steam will have already experienced the madness of Steeple, a map that has jump pads, death, and moving platforms to keep pro Screencheaters on their toes. DRM-free versions of the game will be receiving the update in the next 7 days as we continue to balance it before the final upload to other portals. We also introduce players to a brand new game mode, Elimination. It's essentially a last person standing mode, which can create some tense moments when playing with friends.

PAX Australia Video

A bunch of you guys came by the Indie Showcase section and the Xbox booth at PAX Australia to see Screencheat, so we captured some of your guys playing the game. Thanks to everyone who came out to play the game, we can't wait to see the rest of you at other conventions in 2015! http://youtu.be/SmbaKFVgBtM

Community Hub

Just a quick note on the community hub - we are in the process of building a brand new centralised community hub which should be ready in early 2015. Until then, please share your thoughts with us on the Steam Community Hub.

Game Nights

Leading up to December 25th we are going to be organising a bunch of community game nights for AU, US and UK time zones. This is a chance to meet with fellow Screencheaters online, including some of the Samurai Punk and Surprise Attack Games team to have some fun! Keep an eye on the Steam Community hub for the sticky thread with event times and other cool info. Until next time, keep CHEESECAKING your friends! Steve - Community Manager

  • Screencheat is the ridiculous split-screen shooter where everyone is invisible so you have to “screencheat” (Screencheat - verb: to look at your opponent’s screens. “Stop screencheating you cheater!”). Master a wide variety of one-hit kill weapons including a blunderbuss, a car engine that shoots bouncing plasma balls and a teddy bear loaded with explosives. Train your skills in the solo time trials then engage in fast and frantic combat with up to eight players locally on the couch or online. With colourful maps, unique modes and a huge number of customisation options including wacky mutators, Screencheat is the ultimate party FPS.

Ranging from the dependable Blunderbuss to the heroic Hobby Horse to the completely crazy Chefolet; a car engine that fires ricocheting energy balls, all are designed to deliver deadly satisfaction. Each weapon comes with its own unique advantages and disadvantages, encouraging wildly different play styles. These include not only the way a weapon shoots but also the 'tells' the weapon leaves such as the smoke from the blunderbuss or the trail of fire behind the Hobby Horse.

From traditional favourites such as Deathmatch to the completely unique Murder Mystery that challenges you to find and frag your specific target with a specific weapon. Play in teams or all against all. Challenge up to seven of your mates on the couch or online or a combination of both, the game is always split screen whether you are on or offline. When your friends aren't around, train your skills and learn the maps in the solo time trials or play against AI bots.

In the spirit of the best arena shooters you’ll spend time traversing 11 maps via air vents and trampolines until you’ve acquired your target and fragged them accordingly. Each map is designed with colour-coded areas as well as plentiful landmarks such as statues, paintings and furniture that allow you to quickly locate other players without being able to actually see them.

Inspired by games like Towerfall we've provided players with a highly granular level of customisation to play the game the way they want to. Choose which weapons you'll allow, how and when they can be swapped or reloaded, apply time limits, adjust the victory conditions, penalties and more. To really mix it up stack on some Mutators such as slow mode, low gravity or flappy jump.
