Hello, Ballistic veteran, It's been three years since we suspended support for Ballistic Overkill, shutting down the official servers and suspending any official operation for the game, only keeping the game on Steam for a token fee and giving players the opportunity to host their own servers. Today, as we enter 2023 looking to the future, we've decided to delist Ballistic from the Steam catalog once and for all on February 13th, 2023. We're very proud of what we've achieved in the past, but it's time to move on. With that, we'd like to thank our fan base and players who have stayed true to the game throughout this time. We invite you to keep an eye on Aquiris next steps, which has other games in its portfolio. Thank you very much! We hope to see you later! Aquiris Game Studio
Hi Soldiers, As announced on December 4, today the Official Servers were shut down. While you can still keep playing in private servers, this means all the Leaderboards, Missions and all achievements related to those features do not exist anymore. This also means that the badges are now related to the player level, as follows: Level 700, //LEGEND Level 500, //OVERLORD Level 300, //REAPER Level 200, //DESTROYER Level 100, //PUNISHER Level 90, //DEMON Level 80, //GHOST Level 70, //ASSASSIN Level 60, //HUNTER Level 50, //MERCENARY Level 40, //VETERAN Level 30, //SURVIVOR Level 20, //NOTEWORTHY Level 10, //WANDERER Level 5, //FUGITIVE Level 0, //ASPIRANT Thank you for all the support and for all the kind messages weve received in the last few months regarding the end of the game support. Be sure weve read all of them and take great appreciation for everyone who has dedicated their time to playing Ballistic Overkill. Aquiris Team
Ballistic was born around 8 years ago.
Aquiris was a young development studio and wanted to deliver an arcade arena shooter suited for all FPS lovers, as we were and continue to be.
We foresaw a real opportunity to deliver something different and worked hard to develop an experience unlike anything available at the time remember, there were no names like Overwatch, Titanfall, or Rainbow Six Siege around.
Our game was meant to reach players who were looking for a pick-up and play shooter with simple gameplay that was intended to be social. To make sure that would happen, we chose the most disruptive and fittable platform available at the time: Facebook, who used to have a much bigger focus on games integrated in its core product.
Around a year later, for reasons both internal and external to Aquiris, we had to change our focus and take the game to a more hardcore platform. This proved to be the right decision at the time, and the move to Steam resulted in a much more complex gameplay. While revisiting the main mechanics, we had to question ourselves what could be improved to offer a better experience overall. The answer was to create a class-based FPS with a more sophisticated progression system.
Since we were leaving Facebook for Steam and changing much of our core gameplay, we decided a new brand was necessary. That is why in this process Ballistic became Ballistic Overkill, an identity more suited to its new focus and hardcore mechanics.
On Steam, we quickly reached a considerable number of consecutive players, in a way that was great and beyond our expectations. Unfortunately, supporting a game like this with frequent updates is no easy task, nor is it something cheap, especially for an independent studio like us. Even though we tried and availed multiple possibilities, we simply couldn't deliver a simple and efficient enough solution to offer the support you deserved and expected from us through 2019, and we apologize for that.
We knew we had to do something and couldn't leave the game at its current state. Something that didn't hurt even more your expectations and could reach ours.
Weve decided to end our official support for Ballistic Overkill, but will keep the game alive for our engaged community. Starting January 31 2020, well shut down our servers, Ballistic Protocols and online rankings. You'll still be able to play with your friends through the community servers, and the game will remain available on Steam.
Beginning today, Ballistic Overkill will adopt a symbolic price: US$ 1,99 for the base game, and the same amount will be charged for each DLC available. If you purchased the game beginning November 1st, you can get a full refund for your money. Just request a refund via Steam and well be sure to fulfill every one of them, regardless of the time you spent playing the game since then.
This was a tough decision to make. The toughest in the life of the game so far. We know some of you will be frustrated by this, but we are confident this is the best solution. Thanks for all the support you've shown us through the years. Even though we've reached "The End", it will always be an honour to have served with you in the field for all this time. We'll never forget our moments of fun together!
Aquiris Dev Team
Hey guys, as you may know, the game is having issues with the leaderboards, items and other instabilities. We're working on to fix this issue as soon as possible. This happened due to some issues with the communication between the game and the Steam services. All will be back to normal in a couple of days. We deeply sorry for the inconvenience. Hi, soldiers!
The Juggernaut update is here and comes with a new game mode weve wanted to put in the game since time immemorial. Plus, it brings awesome new costumes for Shadow and Wraith, and some performance improvements.
Juggernaut Mode
Juggernaut is a new way to play Ballistic Overkill. In Juggernaut matches, a golden Chainsaw lies on the ground waiting to be picked up. The player who picks the weapon turns into the Juggernaut a special class with tons of health, The Juggernaut will score points for every moment they are alive and yet more points for every player elimination. The other players must try to kill the Juggernaut, and they will score points proportional to the amount of damage dealt to them. The Juggernaut may seem OP, but all players know their location, This should add an interesting dynamic to Juggernaut games that you wont see anywhere else. Weve wanted to have this mode in the game for several years now, so we hope you like it as much as we do, we will be on the Steam comunity looking at any and all feddback you have.
Juggernaut Missions
Six new missions have been added to the game, these revolve around the new Juggernaut game mode! Head to the servers that with Juggernaut game mode with haste to complete these new missions and earn your rewards.
New Female Skins
We're bringing the female versions of the Berserker and Marksman classes. Now all classes have one female skin available to everyone for free.
DLC: Guerrilla and La Muerte
Two new skins have arrived! Get ready for ambush, sabotage and hit-and-run tactics with the Guerrilla version of Shadow. And La Muerte is a festive costume for the female Wraith that puts you in the right mood for reaping. Shadow Guerrilla Wraith La Muerte
General changes
- Increased amount of life of Grenadier from 200 to 230.
- Improvements on general performance.
- Cached character voices at start of game. This should reduce the amount of time to load a game map.
- Fixed DirectX 12 graphics API. If you have Windows 10, try the command -force-d3d12 for better performance!

The next time you enter the game, you will see the first of your daily missions on the right-hand side. These missions will feature challenges for you to complete such as, Eliminate 10 opponents or Win 3 King of the Hill matches there are currently 90+ different missions covering a range of key elements with plenty of variety. There are 3 mission difficulties easy, medium and hard. Whenever you complete these missions you will receive a reward of either 2, 3 or 4 scrap(s), that you can redeem for crates. You will receive a new mission every day and can have up to a maximum of three active at any given time. You will need to ensure to complete your missions in a timely fashion as when you have three active missions, the oldest one will be replaced when a new mission arrives. We expect Daily Missions to make the game more fun and diverse, and if you like it we may expand it in the future with cool new stuff. Take note: Daily missions are only able to be completed on the Official servers and through Play Now in the main menu. In addition to daily missions, you will also receive special missions, the first of which will be appearing in the next few days. These Special Missions will reward you with a Mission Crate. Currently, the crates awarded will be the Halloween skin crates: with guaranteed Elite or Legendary loot! Your first Special Mission will be appearing very soon, and the next ones will be further down the line.
Increased Cooldown for Crates
Along with the new daily missions, were changing the drop rate of crates from 48h to 72h. While youre still able to receive crates passively, active players that engage with Daily Missions will receive more crates per month including 2 guaranteed Mission Crates with elite and legendary loot. With that, we expect to see more players competing on the servers while they are actively making progress on their missions.

Hey Soldiers! Just a quick notice: We're upgrading and testing new server configurations today and you may experience some instability in the next hours. Our intention is to normalize the servers until the end of the day. Please, feel free to report any connection problem you may have in this thread. Thanks for your comprehension and stay safe in the battlefield!
Hey Soldiers! Following community feedback, we are launching a small hotfix for our last update (Bloodlust). This update improves the player in-game experience when playing the Rounds Mode.
Fixes:
- Round stats were not visible - now is visible
- We’ve lowered the requirements for a valid match when playing in Rounds Mode. Due to the nature of this game mode, the playtime is lower than other game modes;
- UI’s footer information in the Leaderboards Tab screen now displays the Rounds matches played correctly;
Known issue:
Linux 32 bits still crashing after Title screen. Please, use the 64 bits version while we are investigating this issue. See you in the battlefield!
Hey Soldiers!
Back on the 1 August, we released the beta version of the Rounds update. Since then, we have taken onboard the loads of player feedback we received, added in a number of additional improvements of our own and have come up with the all new Bloodlust update.
You told us that the Rounds update was too passive. Well no longer - only the brave will succeed and the weak beaten.
The earlier you score a kill, the higher the points awarded will be.
With multi-kills at a premium, they now score double.
The Rounds game mode now features on the Leaderboards.
For a full breakdown of what has been included in the 'Bloodlust' update, read on....
- Added Rounds to Leaderboards - you must complete 5 ‘Rounds’ matches each month to get ranked into Monthly Leaderboards.
- Added Rounds to Week Leaderboards (Same rules as other modes).
- Rounds warm-up time reduced from 34 to 26 seconds.
- Fixed a bug in Rounds where the enemy becomes visible on the radar when nearby to enemy base.
- Fixed bug on Reinstate map that allowed the Smoke team to access the map early.
- Fixed the 'Killed By' message bug in the Rounds mode.
- Added status of match to KillCam, so you can track your teammates progress while they are playing the current round.
- Added 'Bloodlust' system to the Rounds mode. We want to encourage combat and aggressive playing, so the faster you eliminate an opponent at the start of the game the higher the points you get (aside from 15 points, you get one point for every 2 seconds until the round ends, max 35). For example on the 1min 30 sec round count down, scoring could as follows: kill at 1:00 45 points kill at 0:42 36 points kill at 0:18 24 points and so on…
- Double, Triple and Overkill scores are double in Rounds.
- In rounds mode, players receive the same points for both a 'kill' and a 'kill assist.
Balance Changes
- Berserker weapons: Thumper: Fire rate slightly lowered
- Vanguard weapons: Jackhammer: Reload duration slightly increased and magazine size reduced from 8 to 7 bullets. Widower: Reduced damage slightly
- Tank Weapons: Mongoose: Increased slightly damage and fire rate Rhino: Increased slightly reload duration Rampart: Reduced number of bullets per shot from 17 to 15
Performance
Core .net runtime was upgraded from 2.0 to 4.0 (This should reduce stuttering on low-end machines). Stay safe on the battlefield!
First we told you that a new game mode was coming.
Then we told you that the game mode was called Rounds.
Today we can tell you that the BETA version of the Rounds game mode is LIVE!
For a full break down of what you can expect from this new exciting game mode read on...

- players can join but they will have to wait until the next round begins.
- There are no team shields in this game mode.
- There is a cap of no more than 2 of the same class per team.
- When a player dies, they will enter Spectator Mode (there is no free view camera; players will only able to spectate players from their team).
- Once all players on a team have been eliminated the opposing team will win the round.
- If a round ends without all players dying, the team with the most players alive wins. The first team to (win?) 4 rounds wins.
- Each round has a maximum duration of 90 seconds.
- If the same amount of players are alive on each team when the round ends, the round will result in a draw with neither team secure a round win point.
- Balance changes - The Grenadier's life was dropped from 250 to 200.

Hey everyone! A new patch is available for you to download and its a big one!
This patch adds significant improvements to the game, so read on and learn more
Team Deathmatch Rework (BETA)
Team DeathMatch is receiving some large balance and game play changes focused on improving the gameplay experience for all players. There will no longer be dedicated spawn areas as this was in some cases causing issues with spawn camping and other negative gameplay experiences. You will now spawn in dynamic locations around the map similar to the Free For All mode. You will always respawn away from enemy locations and, when possible, close to your teammates. Given just how big this change is, you will have the option of either playing Team Deathmatch in a beta game mode or the previous Team Deathmatch option. Your Team Deathmatch score for the leaderboard will be calculated using both of the Deathmatch game modes. If you wish to provide feedback on the beta game mode please do so as this will impact the development of this game mode. If it gains enough popularity this will in time phase out the current Team Deathmatch game mode and ultimately replace it.
Workshop Integration (BETA)
As you may have already seen, weve been working on integrating Steam Workshop support for Ballistic Overkill, enabling players to create their own maps. This feature is NOW LIVE and there are some community members working on their maps already. If you want to participate and create your own map, please join us on our Discord server. and visit the #map-editors channel where you can find more information on how to get started. Whenever you attempt to join a match the uses a custom map, a screen prompt will appear asking you to download the community created maps. Once you download them you can play and experience some great community made content!

Hey everyone! A new patch is now live. Read below to learn more about the latest changes!
Team Deathmatch Rework (BETA)
The TDM game mode is being reworked to improve some bad aspects of this mode. By removing spawn blockers and spawning players across the map, now problems like “shield hugging” and “base camping” should be gone, leading us to more balanced and active matches. The game mode works similar to Free For All, except that you have a team and the objective is to kill more players than the enemy team before the time runs out. You will always respawn far away from enemies and, when possible, close to your teammates. We acknowledge this is a big change, so we’ve decided to add this rework as a new beta game mode. This means you can still play the old TDM, but the beta TDM is also part of the map rotation and it's running on official servers. Both the scores you make on the old and new TDM will be added to the same game mode when calculating your score for the Leaderboards. So you can already play the reworked/new TDM to rank up. Please, let us know how you feel about this rework, your feedback will be very important for us to decide if it will stay or not! In case it stays, it will completely replace how the current/old Team Deathmatch works.
Workshop Integration (BETA)
As you may have already seen, we’ve been working on integrating the Workshop with Ballistic Overkill so players can create their own maps! This feature is finally live and there are some community members working on their maps already. If you want to participate and create your own map, please join us on our Discord server (discord.gg/ballisticoverkill). There’s a channel named #map-editors where you can get more informations on how to get started. Whenever you try to join a match with a custom map in-game, a screen will pop up asking you to download the server owner maps. Download them and have fun!

Hello everyone!
Update 1.4.1 is now available on our test branch! A big feature was introduced and now you can compete with other players for the best positions on global leaderboards! Read full details below.
The Public Test Branch
As some of you already know and participated in the past, this is our testing environment. We test updates here so we can fix bugs before sending them to the live version. Everyone can try it and if you're playing on the test branch you will level up and drop boxes normally while having access to new features and content! It’s simple to participate: right-click Ballistic Overkill on your Steam’s library > Properties > BETAS > add this code: beta141branch. Then a download will start and you’ll be ready to play once it’s finished! If anything goes wrong on the test branch, you can switch back to live version on BETAS tab again. Please, make sure you read these test branch guidelines before you start playing it: http://steamcommunity.com/app/296300/discussions/7/1457328392115991625/ PS: Number of servers are limited on test branch. It will be easier to find a match through community servers tab instead of play now.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards are now available to be tested and you can check them in-game through a new UI icon, just beside the inventory icon! Your performance within every match is now represented by skill points and tiers. You gain or lose skill points after completing a match according to your performance. At the end of every month and week you will receive rewards based on your skill points and tier! If you want to know exactly how these systems work, please check this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/296300/discussions/1/1496741765142899649/
New Season - Third Strike
Even though you’ll see the UI for the new season while playing the test branch, it’s not here just yet! It will only be available when the update is live, so you'll still drop Second Wave boxes. However, enjoy the new season spoilers! :P

Hi everyone!
First of all, a warm welcome to all new players! We hope you guys enjoyed the weekend deal on Ballistic Overkill. =)
Today we’d like to share more detailed info on the update we’ve been working on (no ETA yet) that will bring a brand new feature: leaderboards! This update will add skill rating to all players. Skill rating is adjusted according to your score and performance within every valid* match. You can already preview your skill rating on Steam’s performance ladder screen, but note that we’re still working on it and we’ll let you know exactly how SR gain and loss works when the feature is release (we’re currently only testing it). There are 16 ranks you can climb through, each requiring a higher amount of skill rating to be reached. At the end of every month players will be rewarded according to their rank! The top 100 players on leaderboards will also receive monthly rewards. And there are also weekly rewards for the top 30 players on each class based leaderboard! Rewards go from regular scraps to golden lockboxes containing golden weapon skins! There is also a new item, the golden scrap, used to craft golden lockboxes. As long as you’re an active player, you will be rewarded! And rewards increase as you climb ranks and stay closer to the top 10 best players. We’re excited to see how this new feature will play and hope you enjoyed this preview! You can check more leaderboard UI preview here.
*You will only gain or lose SR on valid matches, which are official dedicated servers matches that you’ve played for more than 4 spawned minutes with more than 8 players in it.
Additionally we’re pushing a small hotfix update to improve matchmaking algorithms to better fit the current active player base. Community dedicated servers will now be searched through “play now” button and you can toggle it off on settings menu.
On Linux we're experimenting a 64 bits version! You can try it when launching the game and let us know if it works great. There are also some balance changes you can check out below:

Hello everyone! Today we’re releasing a small hotfix patch to fix some reported bugs (specially the error joining match one) and apply a few balance changes. Ninja was a skill that left no room for counterplay so we’ve completely changed it. We’ve also buffed some of Wraith’s unpopular weapons to make them more competitive and increased Tank's and Vanguard's movement speed a little. You can read full patch details below!
Balance Changes
Shadow
- Skills
- Swiftness movement speed reduced from 15% to 12%.
- Ninja reworked
- Shadow loses the ability to become invisible. In return, this soldier gains +15% damage resistance, +25% melee damage and his footsteps volume is reduced by 100%.
Wraith
- Weapons
- Hydra clip size increased from 16 to 20
- Demon and Firebrand damage increased (2 points)
Tank
- General
- Tank and all LMGs movement speed increased
Vanguard
- General
- Vanguard and Slayer movement speed increased
Fixes
- We’ve made changes to fix the “error joining match” issue. After leaving a match, wait a few seconds before joining another match to avoid this issue.
- Awareness (Marksman trait and skill) now properly detects Shadow and has a skill icon feedback.
- Fixed an issue with Wonderdome health packs not respawning.
- Fixed some elements missing on Hollow’s (map) sky.
- Fixed loadouts breaking after leveling up and equipping new skills between matches.
- Fixed duplicated player connected/disconnected messages on killfeed.
- Refined matchmaking algorithms.
Hello guys! This week we’ve been monitoring the new matchmaking system and reading your feedback and we’ve decided to add our official servers back to server browse. We’ve pushed some updates that improved the algorithms of the new matchmaking system and we will keep the “play now” button as we believe it’s a great tool for new players. But now, according to the veteran community feedback, you can also choose and join an official server through community servers list. The autobalance after every match will still happen on official servers. We hope your gaming experience with Ballistic Overkill will be better with this small update!
Hey guys!
Update 1.4.0 is now live! On this update we’ve worked to improve the player matchmaking experience, assuring that with a single click the game will take you to the best match according to your region and latency. As you know, the game usually had many servers with none or very few players, and a few servers almost full, that made it hard for new players to start new servers. Now with the new system, the players are placed in the servers in a more balanced way, distributing them more equitative and scalable way. It may take a bit longer for you to enter a new game, but the final experience should be better in terms of lag and stability. If the game hasn't found the best server in 2 minutes, then it will place you in a more crowded server with an empty place and with the best conditions in terms of ping and occupancy.
We’ve also made a few balance changes to address Berserker’s dominance and Shadow’s underperformance. Read the full details below!
Play Now and Community Servers
Prior to 1.4.0 all servers were listed on a server browser, allowing you to choose any server among official and community made ones. Now we’re separating official servers from community ones. While Community Servers can still be browsed (and joined with a double click), official servers are no longer visible to players. Instead, they are accessible through the new “Play Now” button, that will take you to the best match according to your latency and will avoid putting you on a full match as spectator. We’ve added an option on the game’s settings to uncheck regions you don’t want to be put in by the Play Now button. Note, however, that you will be stuck searching for a match if there aren’t any players playing on the checked servers at that moment.
Autobalance is back!
Now when a match ends, the game will split teams according to player’s previous match scores to make sure the MVPs will play against each other rather than stay on the same team. Because of this, you will no longer be able to choose teams. You can still join your friend’s matches through the home menu interface, but playing on their same team will not always be possible in order to maintain a fast and fair matchmaking running.
Balance Changes
Berserker
- Skills
- Go Ballistic base damage bonus reduced from 10% to 5%
- Bloodlust fire rate per stack reduced from 5% to 3%
- Guts damage resistance reduced from 15% to 10%
- Hide in Plain sight now reduces 100% footstep volume during Fury Mode
Shadow
- Weapons
- All Machine Pistols movement speed increased
- Skills
- The instant invisibility effect is now a trait and Shadow Walker only adds +15% damage. Additionally Shadow Walker and Assassin had their names and icons switched.
Marksman
- Skills
- Consistency accuracy reduced from 40% to 30%

Fixes
- The “I see dead people” achievement is now working again

Hello soldiers!
Meet “Second Wave”, the second drop season of Ballistic Overkill! This new season contains 5 rarity tier skins collections: Urban (common), rest of the Jungle skins (advanced), White Tiger (special), Rose (elite) and the legendary Seaquake skins!
There are also 4 new accessories. You can unlock the Cat Backpack, the Frog Shoes, the Paw Shoes and the Samurai Helmet by collecting this season’s skins!
Here’s how the lockbox drop system works if you’re wondering.
The 13th weapons are here!
Recently Tank received his 13th weapon, and now it’s time for all soldiers to get theirs! They're the last unlock. Spectre: Berserker’s silenced SMG is back (it was available during early access)! Slayer: An assault rifle with iron sight that rewards headshots for Vanguard. Demon: Wraith’s second LMG, with more balanced attributes compared to Firebrand. Hammer: Grenadier’s shotgun. Slower than Terminator, but more powerful. Devil: High mobility and accuracy SMG for Shadow. Hunter: A silenced assault rifle with scope for Marksman. A lot of ammo. Have fun and best of luck with this new drop season!
Hello everyone! Today’s update is focused on stability improvements! We’ve been testing this build during the last days and hopefully you will see FPS improvements if you used to have performance issues. We’ve also fixed some issues and added a few balance changes. You can read detailed info below! Please, if you’re still having performance issues and general issues/bugs when you join a match, use our Steam forums to report them to us. Your feedback is really important! Here’s a guideline for reporting: http://steamcommunity.com/app/296300/discussions/3/487870763299866063/
Balance Changes
Vanguard
In the past we gave a quality of life buff to all pistols to make them more comfortable to use and macro-proof. We missed Vanguard’s pistols, so here they are!
- Weapons
- Switchblade and Agent are now full automatic
Marksman
To continue the sniper damage adjustments, now we’re increasing Custodian’s power so it can double tap Grenadier in most cases too.
- Weapons
- Custodian
- Damage increased from 110 to 130
- Custodian
Grenadier
Once again - to make Grenadier less dominant with SMGs and MPs loadouts - we’re removing Firearms Expert from his skills pool. We’re adding Pyromaniac in its place, a skill focused on explosives. PS: This change will reset your Grenadier loadouts.
- Skills
- Firearms Expert removed
- Pyromaniac added
- Grenadier gains +15% explosive damage (affects both grenades and GLs)
Fixes
- Several stability and queue system improvements.
- Fixed Magistrate and Curator damage to properly deal 200 damage on Guts Berserker.
- You can no longer cancel reload animation with shooting with Tormentor, Mohawk and Piledriver (causing an “infinite” ammo effect). They are now automatic and have had their reload speed adjusted to maintain a similar balance they had before this fix.
- Pistols no longer bypass draw animations. This was done to refrain macro usage.
- Fixed some Assault Rifle’s GLs doing less damage than intended.
Hey everyone! Today’s patch contains some bug fixes, improvements to the queue system and some balance changes. We hope you like it! Also, stay tuned! A new season is coming soon. =)
Balance Changes
Berserker
Felon is Berserker’s longest range weapon and we’re reducing its fire power a bit as it often felt too strong. Supernova is also a very strong option because of its great hip fire accuracy, so we’re taking some of its range away.
- Weapons
- Felon
- Damage per bullet decreased from 38 to 34
- Supernova
- Minimum range decreased from 15 to 11 meters (i.e. after 11 meters this weapon’s damage starts to fall off).
- Felon
Wraith
Wraith’s snipers have some sort of “damage tier”, where’s Ironveil does the lowest damage and Interdiction does the highest damage. Magistrate’s damage was in a tier it didn’t give the player a real advantage, so we’re adjusting its damage specially to deal with Berserkers. Additionally, we’re adding Curator to this damage tier and adjusting Judge to be able to deal with other 150 HP classes.
- Weapons
- Magistrate
- Damage increased from 225 to 235
- Curator
- Damage increased from 205 to 235
- Judge
- Damage increased from 130 to 150
- Magistrate
Grenadier
Grenadier has been underperforming for a while and increasing his HP on a previous patch (sorry about not mentioning it) was something we wanted to give him to make Grenadier feel more viable, especially when using his GLs. We believe he’s feeling great with his new HP pool, but he’s also feeling too strong when using his Machine Pistols (which were always reliable picks even before his HP buff). This patch we’re nerfing Rattlesnake, Serpent and reducing some bonus movement speed from Last Laugh skill. An aggressive playstyle combining these weapons + Last Laugh should be less dominant now.
- Weapons
- Rattlesnake
- Minimum range decreased from 10 meters to 8 meters.
- Spread increased.
- Serpent
- Minimum range decreased from 10 meters to 8 meters.
- Spread increased.
- Damage reduced slightly.
- Rattlesnake
- Skills
- Last Laugh
- Bonus movement speed reduced from 25% to 20%.
- Last Laugh
Tank
Recently we’ve added Tank’s first melee weapon, the Sledgehammer, and it’s nice to see players having a lot of fun with this weapon! However, Raging Bull (which was previously buffed to be an overall better skill option) was feeling a little too strong, especially when combined with his new weapon. We like how Raging Bull works and its synergy with Tank’s close range weapons, but we’re tuning it down a little on this patch.
- Skills
- Raging Bull
- Damage reduction decreased from 50% to 40%.
- Raging Bull
Marksman
With Grenadier’s HP buff, we believe it’s safe to adjust Marksman’s snipers to deal with 200 HP classes, directly countering Berserker or another Marksman player.
- Weapons
- Drone and Warden
- Damage increased from 195 to 205
- Drone and Warden
Bug Fixes
- Several improvements to the queue system and spectator mode. Please let us know if you’re still facing issues with these systems
- Fixed an issue with Shadow Walker skill making Shadow permanently visible
- Headshot numbers are red again
- Fixed frozen 3rd person animations
Hello Folks! The last update changed some fundamental parts of game to introduce many new features. That cause problems to many users and like we discussed over Discord and foruns, we are working as fast as we can to make it stable again. This update should fix most of these problems. Others can take a little longer and may be fixed in a next update.
Game doesn't open
Ballistic now saves all user preferences in local files, which is great because you won't lose your graphic or control settings each time the game updates. For some reason, some systems were not able to write the correct resolution and fullscreen settings for the first time, making the game display just a black screen. We pushed this detection a little further to avoid problems. If you still can't run the game, try to edit BallisticConfiguration files in the instalation folder. Editing the file outside the game with Notepad should now have a more consistent behaviour as well. For Linux Users: If you're still having problems to launch the game, add this command to your Steam launch options. -screen-fullscreen 0
Wrong loadouts in Soldier Screen
By introducing the Sledgehammer, the unlock order of all Tank weapons changed. That caused the Soldier screen to display completely wrong loadouts. We were forced to reset everybody's loadouts to fix this problem. Don't worry, your player progression is unchanged.
Performance regression
Detect performance regressions can be tricky sometimes and we may never be done optimizing the game. A few things that would help: For design and performance reasons you will now see your teammates identified by an arrow instead of their outlines in the distance. This is not just a cleaner solution but prevent the characters to be rendered all the time. Since your resolution was reset to your monitor's maximum resolution by default, you may have to revisit the settings screen and decrease the resolution to something more suitable to you video card. We belive there are still possible optimizations. Let us now if your game is still slower compared to version 1.3.5
Bug fixes
We fixed lots of bugs related to the queue system and spectator mode. All the flow should be smoother now. We will keep you informed of new bug fixes and improvements. Thanks for playing Ballistic Overkill!
The first post-game launch update arrives with lots of improvements on the match selection system and server configuration, making life easier for those who want to play with friends and create teams.
This is the first of many planned updates that will enhance the experience of creating teams and interacting with other players. We keep, as always, doing game balancing, bug fixing and content additions alongside these main improvements.
Find Your Friends on Home Screen
This new feature allows you to see, on the game home screen, which of your friends are playing Ballistic Overkill, allowing you to immediately join to the same server that they are playing. This feature will be the foundation of the clan system, that will be available in the future. In order to make this system the best possible, we rewrote a considerable part of the code that connects players into matches, you can learn more about these changes below.
New Queue System
It is now possible to enter in any server you want, even if that server is full. Doing so will make you a spectator in your friend’s match until a vacant position on your team becomes available. This way, newcomers will enter in a queue, joining the match in an organized way. It will be much easier to organize teams then. Game lobby screen and private matches no longer exist, players can now organize their teams from inside a match. We still offer the ability to create password-protected servers for those who want to play with big groups of friends.
Team Selection
Players are asked to choose a team before their first spawn instead of being automatically placed in the team with less members. We still enforce a minimal difference in team sizes to avoid unbalanced teams. When this happens, you have to wait in the queue until the teams are balanced again. Different from what happened before, however, you will never be blocked from changing teams (with the only excepting of when the match is nearing its end). This change is crucial for the new game modes that are coming.
Spectator Mode Changes
Spectator Mode was remade to let both players and spectators join matches by the same method. Spectator mode is more accessible from the respawn screen, behaving as if it were a soldier class. You can join a match as a spectator at any time, but if you want to join a team to play you’ll be placed in a queue just the same.
Teammate Outlines
We changed characters outlines to allow players to see their teammates through walls, encouraging even better teamplay.
Gold Badges
All classes with level 100 or more will have a golden badge instead of a silver one. Be extra careful when finding one of these in the enemy team!
New Weapon: Sledgehammer
The tank can now unlock a brand new weapon, one that greatly helps him in close quarters combat. The Sledgehammer is a melee weapon with a slow fire-rate, but massive damage. Unaware Shadows may have an unpleasant surprise when getting close to a Tank.
New Melee Animations
Melee weapons received new animations for sequential attacks.
New Weapon Stats Screen
The weapon Information Screen on the Soldiers Tab was redesigned to make it easier to find your available skins to equip.
New Antialiasing Modes
We’re aiming to give more flexibility on game graphics configuration options. Advanced users who want to can now access them through a text file in the Ballistic Overkill installation folder. On top of an improved version for the standard FXAA, we added the possibility of switching to MSAA, of 2x, 4x or 8x. It's possible to combine both modes, for those who want to take the game graphics to the next level: - FXAA - MSAA2X - MSAA4X - MSAA8X - MSAA2X + FXAA - MSAA4X + FXAA - MSAA8X + FXAA See the comparison: https://s3.amazonaws.com/ballistic-marketing/ballistic-patch-notes/136/antialiasing_comparison.jpg
Custom Server Commands
We added a few commands to help those who create their own servers manage them with ease. If you are a server host you can type these in the chat anytime during a match.
- ./list Lists in numeric order, all players in the match.
- ./kick [player number from the list] Kicks the player identified by that number.
- ./blacklist [player number from the list] Permanently kick and ban the player identified by that number in this server.
- ./prioritylist [player number from the list] Includes the player in the priority list. This will give him priority in any future queue in this server.
Vulkan and Metal Support
Linux and MacOS users can celebrate! It is now possible to choose the Ballistic Overkill graphic API through a launch command in Steam properties. Vulkan API is relatively new and may have some bugs. The available APIs are: -force-d3d9 -force-d3d11 -force-vulkan -force-metal -force-glcore You can check out which graphic API is running by looking at the bottom left corner in the home screen, next to the game’s version.
Balance Changes
Melee Weapon Changes
One thing that made melee weapons tough to get right was their ability to kill anyone instantly with a backstab. This was done automatically, regardless of the weapon damage or the target’s health. We’re changing this system to allows us to balance the backstab itself via a multiplier so we can have more variance to it. On top of that, we changed the valid angle of attack of melee weapons by reducing it across the board to avoid situations where hits seemed unfair or too easy to aim.
- Backstab Multiplier added
- Melee weapons won’t kill instantly on backstabs. Backstabs are now considered critical hits (similar to a headshot from a regular weapon). This means that each weapon has it’s own multiplier, allowing for extra variety in that weapon class.
- You can check the actual values of Backstab Multipliers in the character sections below.
- Melee Strike angle reduced slightly on all melee weapons
Tank
We felt that Tank needed an extra option of “fast moving sidearm”. The current only weapon that fits this description is the Blackhawk. We hope that Tanks who want to be a swifter than normal will find the Sledgehammer as a suitable choice. It allows the Tank to serve Shadow some of that sweet melee action he seems to love.
- Weapons
- Sledgehammer added
- Unlocks
- Sledgehammer added as the new level 2 unlock
- All other weapons pushed up in the progression
- Rampart and Brigand unlock position switched
- Raging Bull and Last Stand unlock position switched
- Sledgehammer added as the new level 2 unlock
- Skills
- Raging Bull damage reduction increased from 30% to 50%
Shadow
Shadow has been very dominant in the current meta. More specifically, a certain kind of Shadow... We hope some of the changes introduced will help players counter this strategy, while still keeping it a viable choice.
- Weapons
- Xian
- 150% Backstab Damage Multiplier added instead of an instakill.
- Ninjaken
- Attack Speed increased from 100 to 120
- 200% Backstab Multiplier added instead of an instakill.
- Shinobi
- Movement speed reduced
- 50% Backstab Multiplier added instead of an instakill.
- Unlocks
- Vampire and Shadow Walker unlock position switched
- Xian
Marksman
Marksman received the current version of Awareness as an extra trait while the skill itself was buffed. We hope this helps differentiate the class from others, while also making the skill itself more reliable.
- Skills
- Trait buffed
- All enemies are revealed on the map for 1 second every 5 seconds. This ability reveals even invisible opponents.
- Awareness
- Time to activate reduced from 5 to 2 seconds.
- Trait buffed
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed a bug that eventually freezes the free camera from the Spectator Mode.
- Fixed a series of validation errors on weapons skins.
- Reduced the overall memory usage.
- Hungarian language added.
- Fixed a bug that made the camera shake in a wrong intensity when the player gets hit by certain weapons.
- Fixed an audio bug that tied voice commands volume to general sound effects volume
- Fixed a problem that makes the Reset Statistics Button reset achievements too.
- Fixed a bug that makes the glass breaking noises too loud.
- Fixed a bug on Lone Wolf skill (Wraith) that allows allies positions to interfere with the skill’s effect.
Ballistic Overkill is Now Available on Steam!
Ballistic Overkill is a fast paced PvP shooter. Select one of 7 classes, each with their own skills and weapons. Make multiple loadouts with each, creating different builds within the same character. No wimpy support classes, in Ballistic everyone is a killer!
Hello everyone! We are proud to announce that tomorrow Ballistic Overkill will no longer be in Early Access!
Which doesn't mean the game will no longer be updated and improved. There are major upcoming features still in development. We see this more as a great opportunity to promote the game and increase our community. This update is also packed with new content.
First Blood Season
The very first season of Ballistic Overkill. It features more than 180 weapon skins, now divided in 5 rarity tiers: common, advanced, special, elite and legendary. Remember, from now on each new season brings entirely new drops and replaces the previous season ones, know the value of the skins in your inventory as they won't be dropping again in future seasons. Players will also be rewarded with 4 new accessories based on their weapon skin collection. By the way, it is now possible to inspect unlocked accessories in your inventory screen. This will help you to decide which ones you want to pursue.
Shadow Female Skin
You are wrong if you think first person shooters are only for dudes. The girls on our community will have nice female characters to play as well, starting with the shadow class. Skins for other classes will come in the future.
Costume Skins as DLCs
8 more exclusive character costumes are now available to purchase as DLCs. They don't just alter character models as some of them also change the entire voice pack. Time to show off to your friends!
Balance Changes
Grenadier
Grenadier's GL's have a mechanic that makes projectiles consider your movement direction to influence their trajectory. While some players use this to their advantage to hit targets, we’re experimenting turning it off to check how it affects players overall experience, if it improves or not. We’ll keep a close look on this change. We also increased the number of bullets per shot on all shotguns to make their damage feel more consistent, while maintaining their original DPS almost the same.
- Grenade Launchers
- Removed character movement influence on projectile direction
- Shotguns
- Increased number of bullets per shot
- Reduced damage per bullet (max damage per shot either remains the same or is slightly higher)
Vanguard
The last patch reduced the clip size of all Vanguard’s ARs to balance out his power, but we feel Executioner was hurt too much from that nerf, so we’re reverting it.
- Executioner
- Clip size increased from 25 to 30
Wraith
This patch, Lone Hunter is seeing a reload speed buff to match with the other skills’ power. His pistols are also getting quality of life buffs to become more viable.
- Skill - Lone Hunter buffed
- Reload speed increased from 20% to 30%
- Weapon - Persuader and Machete are now automatic
- Recoil reduced slightly
- This is a quality of life change. Overall balance remains the same
Shadow
Assassin and Fast as Lightning were modified so Shadow’s skills feel they have more specific purposes. Shinobi is getting a small nerf that highlights its purpose as a slow, but very powerful sword.
- Skill - Assassin modified
- While moving, Shadow gains +50% accuracy and +50% recoil reduction.
- Skill - Fast as Lightning modified
- Shadow gains +10% rate of fire and +25% reload speed.
- Weapon - Shinobi
- Attack speed (rate of fire) decreased slightly
Tank
A vast part of the community agrees Tank’s close range LMGs are weaker than they should be, so we’re tunning them up.
- Weapon - Brute
- Accuracy, damage and reload speed increased
- Range increased slightly
- Weapon - Chainsaw
- Damage increased
- Range increased slightly
Bug Fixes
- Silenced and unsilenced weapon tags revised.
- Fixed an issue with not being able to disassemble some weapon skins.
- In-game chat improvements.
- Fixed melee attacks ignoring damage reduction.
- Fixed camouflage bugs when changing the game quality during a match.
- Fixed "This is Ballistic" achievement award detection.
Hi everyone! Thanks for the quick feedback on the last update. Here is a patch to fix some of the problems introduced in 1.3.4 and other requested features.
Move while using the Voice Wheel
You can now walk, run, jump and use the voice command wheel at the same time.
Voice Volume Slider
Instead of just turn voices on or off, now you can adjust their volume.
Exclusive Fullscreen
This was requested mostly by streamers to facilitate their transmissions. Ballistic Overkill used to run fullscreen in a mode called "borderless window". In "exclusive mode" the framebuffer is sent directly to the display and may decrease the input lag. It also allows better syncronization options like G-sync and Freesync.
End Match Music
The classic Ballistic F2P music was added to end match screens.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Shadow smoke and sound remaining after his death.
- Fixed Berserker's Bloodlust UI feedback stacking above limits.
- Revised some automatic voice probabilities to play less often.
- Fixed "Use Mouse Wheel" option to save consistently.

Hi Friends! Have you ever wondered how your favorite soldier sound like? Now you can hear for yourself. We recorded voice commands and other useful speeches for all characters over the past months! This update also brings an important gameplay improvement, the "Skills Feedback".
Voice Commands
More than 1400 voice recordings were added to the game. Divided in 6 specific commands, and other automatic messages triggered in many situations. All unique to each character. If you still prefer muted soldiers, you can turn the voice commands Off in the settings menu.
Skills Feedback
Now you will be able to tell when a skill becomes active with visual feedback on your HUD. Some skills also have a stacked effect, or timed buffs. All that will be visible in real time. Making skill mechanics much clearer to everyone.
Mouse Sensitivity
Responding to some feedback, we divided mouse sensitivity setup in 3 different sliders, completely independent from each other. One for default sensitivity, another only for aiming, and the third one only for telescopic sights. This will help players comming from other games keep the same feel they are already used to.
Always Run
If you like to run, you can now enable the "Always Run" option in the settings menu. This will make you run automatically by pressing forward, while holding the run key will make you walk. This can be slightly more comfortable for players who run constantly, but you will still make a lot of noise and get revealed in the radar, don't forget!
Credits Screen
After all these years, It's nice to present the people behind Ballistic Overkill. More importantly, we have highlighted community members that helped us make the game so far, by giving constructive feedbacks or translating the game.
Other Fixes and Improvements
- Added "Polish" language.
- Added a subtle feedback on the mini-map when you are revealed in the enemy radars.
- Added an error message when the game is unable to connect to Steam platform.
- Improved achievement detection for Sneaky Beaky, Force of Nature, Nostalgia and MVP.
- Fixed a bug in Soldiers screen that caused it to not update loadouts properly.
- Fixed a bug in Blackfield map that kills the player randomly.
- Fixed Last Stand not giving 10% extra life.
Hey Folks! Today we are proud to present Ballistic's 10th map, the Reinstate Factory. This map was designed to explore the abilities of all classes. It is of a considerable size compared to others, which in turn rewards a more tactical pacing, but also offers various spots where closed range classes can benefit from.
We're also releasing several other features that were developed or improved:
Steam Achievements
Now Ballistic Overkill has dozens of achievements to pursue. Some of them are just easy and fun, and some were made only for pro-like players to conquer.
Password Protected Servers
You can now create your own password protected matches. This is great to organize parties with your friends without having to invite everybody over Steam invite.
Enemy Area
Staying on the "Enemy Area" now reveals you in the radar, with any class. This new feature will give a clear advantage to spawning players and help to prevent spawn camping.
Russian Language
Welcome russian friends, the game is available in your language now!
New servers in China
Our community in China is growing fast. The new servers will improve a lot the experience in many asian countries.
Multi-Thread Improvements
Some fundamental parts of code were reviewed to make a better use of multiple cores. We hope to see less frame drops, specially in maps such as Wonderdome. This optimization was only on the CPU side, if you are limited by the GPU, your performance should remain the same.

Dedicated Server Banner
If you access Library/Tools in your Steam, you will see the Ballistic Overkill Dedicated Server. It allows you to create your own server with some custom options in a fairly low bandwidth and CPU cost. Now you are also able to setup an image and a link to promote your channels. This is part of many dedicated server customizations we plan to do in the near future. Hope you like it. See you soon!
Hey guys!

Hey guys! You might've noticed that Ballistic updated a few times last week. That's because we've been doing some fixes here and there to improve the overall experience. Below is a list of all those fixes, including the ones released today.
- Locked weapons level requirement visible on Soldiers screen
- Average as default server filter
- Now when searching servers, the default filter is "Average" instead of "All". This means that matches that are not created in your continent/region or have a ping higher than 200 won't show. Our goal is to incentivize players to pick better matches.
- If you have trouble finding matches, just change the option to "Bad". This will make so all matches are shown again.
- Secondary function improvements
- Fixed a bug where players would be able to use the Secondary Function twice, making so they would be kicked from the match
- Secondary Function is now cancelable by grenades, melee and weapon swaps
- Some servers now have ping limit
- As you might have noticed, some servers name now includes a ping limit. Those servers will kick players that are, on average, above this limit. We've limited those servers to just a few per region, so players that can't play on those matches still have other matches available.
- This system was improved during the week. At first, it was much more rigid, kicking several players. Now it's more forgiving, while still kicking players that are above the limit consistently. If you've joined one of those servers and have been kicked, we encourage you to try again and see if that is still the case.
- Character interpolation improved
- Character movements online should be smoother overall both in regular matches and in spectator mode.
- Some internal optimizations
- We've revised several small things in the code. You can expect a slight framerate improvement.
- A few progression related bugs fixed
- Some localization errors fixed

Hello everyone! 1.3 patch is live!
Now you can enjoy Ballistic Overkill’s progression system and drop some skins for your weapons!
Completing matches will now randomly drop lockboxes while also rewarding you with experience to level up your characters and account. Lockboxes contain random weapon skins but you can also buy more lockboxes or skins from other players using the Steam Marketplace! Additionally, completing your skin collections will unlock vanity accessories. You can also sell your skins and lockboxes or even disassemble undesired weapon skins to collect scrap metal, used to forge another lockbox.
Check out the full patch notes below. Have fun!
Main Improvements
- Progression System
- Completing matches will now reward you with experience. Experience will level your characters and account up.
- Level up your characters to unlock weapons, skills and loadouts
- Level up your account to earn new portrait. Bragging rights!
- This is the first version of the progression system so issues are expected.
- We have no plans to reset your progression in a near future, but be aware that this is a testing version of this system and a reset could be necessary to deal with issues. Your weapon skins and inventory are safe from resets, however!
- First Drop Season (Early Access Season)
- Lockboxes will randomly drop after completing a match.
- Lockboxes are separated by class. Items in a lockbox will always be of the same class or a random legendary.
- The boxes will drop a random weapon skin based on the current season.
- Skins are saved in your in-game and Steam inventory after dropped. In order to equip a skin you must have unlocked its equivalent weapon first, but they’ll stay in your inventory even if you don’t have its weapon yet.
- Early Access Season is introducing three skin collections:
- Volunteer (common)
- Veteran (special)
- Honored (legendary)
- Regular Seasons (coming later, after Early Access one ends) will drop skins from every rarity tier: common, advanced, special, elite and legendary
- You can expect 2-4 lockboxes drops per week
- Meeting certain requirements, such as collecting 3 veteran skins and 1 honored for example, will unlock vanity accessories that can be equipped by any character and will be available as long as the requirements are met.
- Undesired weapon skins can be disassembled in exchange of scrap metals. After collecting 10 scrap metals you’ll be able to get a new lockbox!
- Ballistic Overkill is now integrated with Steam’s marketplace. This means you can buy weapon skins from the community by using the market, and trade or sell your skins too.

Hey guys!
Remember about the vanity accessories we mentioned earlier? They're coming in the next update! A small list of details below.
- Accessories are global, so they can be used by all characters
- Like weapon skins, accessories are only cosmetic and don't affect gameplay in any way
- Each accessory has its own requirements. For example:
- Having 10 different skins from a specific collection
- Reach a certain account level
- If you lose items required for an already unlocked accessory, either by trading or dismounting, you lose access to that accessory until you meet it's requirements again
- New accessories will be added over time, probably a couple per season
Hello everyone!
As you may already know, in the next update we'll be introducing Ballistic Overkill's very first weapon skins drop season! It's gonna be a special Early Access season that will drop only exclusive skins!
Skins will have five rarity tiers:
Common, Advanced, Special, Elite and Legendary.
*During this first season, however, only three tiers will be introduced (common, special and legendary).
These are samples of the early access exclusive skins! Every weapon is getting one of the skins above, totalizing 7 legendaries, 28 specials and 52 commons. Collecting them will unlock a exclusive vanity accessory that we'll share more info about soon!
We're still working on the 1.3 update and hope to deliever is as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and support and hope you liked the new skins look!
Hello everyone!

In this devlog we’d like to share further information about the update 1.3, which will contain Ballistic Overkill’s progression system and first drop season!

Known Bugs
This segment lists a few bugs which we are already aware of and will fix as soon as possible.
- Sometimes when creating a match, players trying to join in become stuck in lobby
- This is a bug caused by the unification of the lobby and match system. We’re currently investigating the cause. For the time being, even though it is possible to create and play matches normally, we suggest playing on the dedicated servers. On those servers, this kind of bug is impossible.
- Intruder 3rd person sounds aren’t silenced
- One of the Marksman’s weapons, the Intruder, has normal sound for other players. This doesn’t affect it’s silenced ability (shooting won’t reveal you on the map).
Hello, everyone!
As we mentioned in the last patch notes, we're now implementing the new in-game UI into Ballistic and also working on Marksman class for the next update. The 1.2.0 update will still take a while to arrive, so today we'd like to share further information about this update and future plans.
You can check the new UI Flow Chart here.
*Please keep in mind that these are mock-ups
This is an initial version of how the game's UI flow should look like. As you can see, a lot of screens are already in-game, but there are a lot of new ones coming soon, such as the respawn, settings, scoreboard and specially progression!
This flowchart already gives you an idea of how things gonna work. You have a character progression bar that will unlock skills, weapons and loadouts (all of which are currently pre unlocked in-game). Skins will be droppable items, in a similar fashion to TF2, Dota2 and CS:GO. The progression and skin systems will come in later patches and will not be part of the 1.2.0 update.
Thanks everyone for your patience and support. We hope this little development update left you excited for our next steps in Ballistic Overkill!
Hello, guys! Today’s update is about improvements to game modes, a few class balance changes and some cool new weapons! We hope you enjoy it! We’d also like to share with that we’ve started to implement the new in-game UI! This means our dev build will be a little unstable for a while and the next update (if it includes the new UI) will take some time to arrive. We’d appreciate your feedback on this update. Have fun!

Hey guys! Firstly I'd like to thank you for all the feedback we've been receiving on this patch. It's really appreciated. This was a huge one for us and we're glad to see things are (mostly) working as intended. We'll keep working on it and fix problems as fast as we can. Thank you! First a couple of fixes that we already made:
- Team Deathmatch score system was broken in the first minutes of the patch. This is now fixed and should work as intended.
- Capture point was ending REALLY fast for the first few hours of the patch. We also fixed that and it should be a better experience. *In both cases, if you are still having problems, try closing the game and letting Steam update the game (it's a really small one, so it should be almost instant).
- Grenades now regenerates automaticaly every 30 seconds, except for Grenadier, which regenerates every 8 seconds. This will be shown in the new UI when it hits.
- Chat changing and mute
- The option to mute chat is now working
- When in game, you can press Esc to open the in-game menu. In the top left corner, there's a speech bubble that represents your chat mute options.
- If the chat below is not showing, it means that you have chat muted and won't be able to see and/or post on chat.
- To change your chat settings simple click on the speech bubble.
- Once you see the chat in the in-game menu, you should be able to go back to the game and chat normally
- Some Vanguard weapons are available as both primary and secondary because of the default loadouts
- The weapon stats UI is not updated for a few weapons
Hey guys! Firstly, we’re sorry about the delays on this update. We changed several things internally that could potentially break the game, so we had to take some extra time to test things out. Even with our efforts, though, you guys will most likely find bugs that slip through. If that’s the case, you can report bugs either here on steam or in our community forums. With that said, let's get to the good part.
Main Improvements
- Health Packs
- Health stations are gone. Instead, we now have health packs scattered around the stages. When you pass through a health pack (if you’re not full health) you’ll pick it up and heal yourself instantly. The amount healed depends on the kind of health pack (big or small). After being pick-up, there will be a 10 seconds cooldown until the next pack appears in that station.
- Infinite Reserve Ammo
- You’ll still need to reload your gun constantly, but your reserve ammo will never end. That change was made for two reasons. The first is that we believe that most players didn’t need to worry about ammo anyway. There was plenty of reserve ammo and you recovered ammo when healing yourself in the health station. Only in very specific cases players would be without ammo. The second reason is that without healing stations, there’s no way to recover ammo anymore. We didn’t like the idea of ammo packs because we already have health packs. Having this extra kind of pack could cause clutter in small stages.
- Weapon secondary function reworked
- Weapon secondary functions are now called weapon skills. Pressing the weapon skill button now changes the weapon, shoots and then changes back to the original weapon. In addition, weapon skills don’t spend any ammo. To compensate for that, weapon skills have a cooldown of 6 seconds. In the current version, there’s no UI to inform if the skill is on cooldown or not, but that will certainly be featured in the new UI.
- The default button for weapon skills was changed to E (was V)
- Map Voting System Changed
- Now players can choose between 4 random maps, with each map representing a different game mode.
- Some shotguns right button is now a melee attack shortcut
- We feel that leaving the right mouse button with a “less than ideal” function is not the way to go. Aiming with shotguns added no extra precision, so it was mostly useless. A melee strike is more fitting to the close quarters, run and gun style of most shotguns. We intend to make more of this kind of changes in the future, reinforcing the playstyle and differences of each gun.
- Shotguns included in the change: Anakonda, Thumper, Bonebreaker, Terminator, Mammoth and Rhino.
- The other shotguns now receive a small precision boost while aiming.
- Shotguns rebalance
- All Shotguns rate of fire and damage decreased. Range and recoil increased.
- The idea here is to make each shotgun shot more effective, while also not making shotguns overpowered.
Berserker
- Class Traits and Skills
- Skill - Hide in Plain Sight
- While selected, Berserker loses his damage resistance trait.
- Skill - Reliable Firearms
- Renamed to Shotgun Expert
- Berserker gains +2 [strike]+4[/strike] meters to the range of all weapons and +25% [strike]15%[/strike] reload speed.
- Renamed to Shotgun Expert
- Skill - Hide in Plain Sight
- Weapon Balance
- Gremlin removed
- Thumper added
- Anakonda reload time decreased
- Anakonda reload can’t be interrupted by shooting anymore
Vanguard

- Piledriver and Jackhammer are now primary weapons
- Coyote and Stalker are now secondary weapons
- Stalker accuracy while aiming increased slightly

- Skill - Pyromaniac
- Grenadier gains +15% explosive damage and +10% damage resistance.

- Viper recoil reduced
Tank
- Weapon Balance
- All LMGs clip size reduced
- Agent damage reduced
- Rhino and Mammoth range increased, but damage decreased
- Rhino is now automatic
- Rhino reload time increased
Fixes
- Settings not saving bug fixed
- Several shortcuts added to the Soldiers Screen
- You can now quickly select a class and loadout by pressing W, S, Up Arrow, Down Arrow, 1, 2 and 3. The numbers change the loadout, while the other shortcuts change the current class.
- You can now quickly join the selected Server by pressing “Enter” in the Server Browser Menu.
- Mouse wheel now changes weapons
- Pressing the sprint button will immediately end crouch when using crouch on toggle
- Damage numbers from shotgun shots now add up into one number
- Tank’s Last Stand kill being stolen or denied by other players fixed

Hello everyone! Ballistic Overkill is getting a new update today. The highlights are new skills for every class, capture the point game mode and performance upgrades that should make the game more stable and have less hiccups. As always, thank you for your support and feedback. If you have any issues regarding this new update, please share with us via e-mail (support@aquiris.com.br) or forum (http://forum.aquiris.com.br/index.php?board=6.0). Enjoy the update and take a read at the release notes below!
Main Improvements
- Performance upgrade
- The game should be more stable now and have less or even no hiccups during a match. Please let us know in the forums if you have any problems running Ballistic Overkill in a machine that reaches (or exceeds) the minimum requirements.
- Resupply stations repositioning
- This is a test and isn’t final. We’re analysing the changes in the flow of the game with this new resupply distribution on the map. Are players camping? Are players feeling afraid of leaving the spawn point? This is the kind of things the we want to know. Further changes in this mechanics will happen in the future.
- New Mode - Capture Point
Berserker
- Class Traits and Skills
- New Skill - Hide in Plain Sight
- While sprinting, Berserker is invisible on the map.
- Skill - Bloodlust
- Damage amount stack increased from 3% to 4%
- New Skill - Hide in Plain Sight
Vanguard
In this patch, we’re nerfing the Vanguard a bit. He already has a very strong trait with his “on kill regeneration”. We feel that having Scavenger as well was one of the factors placing him above the other classes. We’re removing Scavenger as a trait and adding it as a Skill instead. That, coupled with a few other changes in his skills, should help bringing him to the same tier as other classes.
- Class Traits and Skills
- Trait - Scavenger removed
- New Skill - Scavenger
- When walking over a dead body, Vanguard recovers +50% of his max ammo and +1 grenade. Additionally, Vanguard gains +10% damage resistance.
- Skill - Carelessness removed
- New Skill - Modified DNA
- Vanguard gains +15% max health.
- Trait - Regeneration
- Life per second nerfed from 2.5% to 2.0%.
- Skill - Weapons Expert
- +5% damage resistance added
- Skill - Action Hero
- Accuracy while moving increased to 40% and damage resistance against explosions reduced to 30%.
- Weapon Balance
- Heavy Metal rate of fire and damage reduced slightly
Wraith
The main change in Wraith comes in the form of a nerf to the Lethal skill. We feel that the skill was too complete, allowing for players to pick it up without thinking. We removed the extra range from this skill and added it to a new skill. This should help creating different Wraith builds allowing more diversity.
- Class Traits and Skills
- New Skill - Combat Wraith
- Wraith gains +15% damage resistance, +10 meters to the range of all weapons and 5% sprinting speed.
- Skill - Lethal
- +10 meters to range of all weapons removed
- Skill - Elite Shooter
- Reload speed and rate of fire per kill increased to 10% (was 9%) and 5% (was 4%).
- New Skill - Combat Wraith
Shadow
- Class Traits and Skills
- New Skill - Vampire
- Shadow recovers +10% health with each melee strike. Additionally, backstabs recover 100% health.
- New Skill - Vampire
- Weapon Balance
- Switchblade rate of fire reduced slightly
Grenadier
While we feel that Grenadier should have more grenades than other classes, the extra grandes trait was facilitating grenade spam too much. To avoid this, we’ve changed it to a grenade regeneration trait. Grenadier also received a lot of indirect changes because of adjustments in his grenade launchers. Again, the goal with those changes is to make the grenadier not so spam friendly, and, at the same time, effective.
- Class Traits and Skills
- Trait - Trait - +2 Grenades removed
- Trait - Grenade Regeneration added
- When out of grenades, Grenadier recovers +1 grenade after 8 seconds. (Grenadier can never have more than 1 grenade at a time)
- New Skill - Restraint
- Grenadier gains +50% explosive damage, but loses -75% explosive range with grenades and grenade launchers.
- Weapon Balance
- Grenade launchers max damage reduced slightly, min damage increased and range decreased
- The max damage being reduced is not as bad as it sounds because of the direct hit fix (you can read more about that under Fixes). Overall, direct hits and close hits will be better than before, while medium range hits are drastically nerfed.
- Grenade launchers max damage reduced slightly, min damage increased and range decreased
Tank
- New Skill - Last Stand
- Tank resists death for 5 seconds.
Fixes
- All loadouts have been reset
- Some players were using weapons that they weren’t suppose to. To fix this (and avoid bugs related to the new skills) we’ve decided to reset the loadouts of all players on the first time they open the game.
- Server list now shows the ping in dedicated servers
- The reason that we don’t show ping for player created matches as well is that Steam doesn’t deliver precise information in this case. In player matches we show the country and region instead.
- Grenade launcher projectiles now deal max damage in direct hits
- Until now, grenade damage was calculated by the distance between the player and the explosion. The problem with this system is that the origin of a player is somewhere between his feet. That means that hitting a grenade in the head of a player would deal less damage than hitting close to that player’s feet. This is now solved and grenades deal max damage on direct hits. To compensate for that, the balance of grenade launchers was changed.
- Loadouts can now be reset without exiting the game
- Warning: there will be a big hiccup when doing this, but, as far as we know, there are no other setbacks.
- Projectiles from Grenade Launchers now deal damage even if the player that shot it is dead
- Grenades dealing damage to former teammates when switching teams fixed
- Several skill icons updated
- Capturable Point UI color fixed
- Server list now defaults to number of players
Hey guys! Today we're launching a new update to Ballistic Overkill. This one is mostly focused on Linux support. The importance of this, and the reason why we choose to make this a priority, is that most dedicated servers run on linux. As far as we tested, linux players can play with mac and windows users without issues (yay!). This is an important step forward for betters servers in the future. In addition, we've also solved a few issues and made some small balance changes. You can check all of the changes below.
Main Improvements
- Linux compatibility added in both client and server side
- Ballistic Overkill is now 100% compatible with Linux. You can play normally and even create dedicated servers. Welcome Linux users!
- Having Linux support will make the creation of dedicated servers significantly easier in the future, be it via official or third party servers.
- Recoil System Overhaul
- In order to fix a very old bug in the recoil of automatic weapons, the recoil system was reworked. The bug in question made so automatic weapons would swing down when you stopped firing. While good for burst fire, that kind of mechanic was unintuitive and annoying for regular automatic fire. This is now fixed
- Recoil reduction skills were also fixed, and now work as intended. Until now, Recoil reduction was working only for regular recoil, ignoring up recoil (which is the most relevant part of our recoil system).
Fixes
- Aiming Sensitivity Slider now affects only scoped weapons
- Shotguns FOV change when returning from aiming smoothed out
Balance Changes
- All shotguns range increased
- Switchblade damage reduced slightly
Berserker
Berserker became a bit overshadowed by the other classes in the last update with the removal of his map invisibility while sprinting. In this update, we’re also removing his extra speed trait, but in return, we’re adding a new trait.
- Class Traits and Skills
- [strike]Trait - Extra Sprinting Speed[/strike] removed
- New Trait - Endurance
- 30% damage reduction while sprinting
- Weapon Distribution
- Tormentor added as a secondary weapon
- A fast shotgun, similar to Terminator and Bonebreaker
- Tormentor added as a secondary weapon
- Weapon Balance
- Anakonda and Gremlin recoil reduced
Grenadier
Until now, it was almost impossible to land a perfect shot with Grenade Launchers. We want GLs to be rewarding. With a slightly lower damage decay, it should be a bit easier to land great shots. To compensate, GLs max damage was reduced slightly.
- Weapon Balance
- Grenade Launchers max damage and damage decay decreased
- Destructor projectiles now explode on any hit
- Terminator recoil increased
Tank
Tank just arrived in the last patch and, while we feel he’s mostly in a good spot, his LMGs have been underperforming. We made a few changes to improve diversity and effectiveness.
- Class Traits and Skills
- Skills - Blitzkrieg and Unstoppable Force
- Fixed bugs related to both of this skills. They now work as intended and are much more effective.
- Skills - Blitzkrieg and Unstoppable Force
- Weapon Balance
- All LMGs headshot damage increased
- Brute accuracy and damage increased, but rate of fire decreased
- Chainsaw accuracy increased slightly
- Bruiser rate of fire and accuracy increased, but damage decreased
Shadow
Shadow is overall in a pretty good spot. However, we feel that, outside of the great movement speed and backstabs, Swords are not that much of a threat. To fix that, the damage of all Swords was increased as well as the damage bonus from Swiftblade.
- Class Traits and Skills
- Skill - Swiftblade
- Melee damage bonus increased from [strike]15%[/strike] to 20%
- Skill - Swiftblade
- Weapon Balance
- All Swords damage increased
Fixes and Changes
- Performance stats added to the Home Screen
- From now on, you look at some stats and check your performance at the Home Screen in the Main Menu. This screen is not final, so let us know what stats you’d like to see in the future.
- Damage Numbers added
- While definitely not in it’s final form yet, damage numbers are back! Keeping track of damage dealt will be way easier.
- All weapons (except Sniper Rifles and Pistols) headshot damage increased
- All shotguns range increased slightly
- In-game chat messages not deleting fixed
- Sometimes, if players talk non-stop or spam the in-game chat, the game would slow down and cause frame drops. That was due to a bug in which messages weren’t being deleted as they should. This is now fixed and shouldn’t happen anymore.
- Weapon icons on kill width to height ratio fixed
- In-game settings menu removed temporarily
- This menu became bugged in the last update with the addition of new features to the outside game settings. This menu will return with the new HUD in the future, but for now, you can only change your settings outside of a match.
New Class - Tank
Tank is our survival expert. He can take hits like no one else. Without further ado, here’s the breakdown of his traits, skills and weapons.
Class Traits and Skills
- Trait - Regeneration and resistance
- Huge health
- Recovers 1% of max health per second
- Skill - Well prepared
- Tank receives +10% damage resistance, +15% headshot damage resistance and +20% explosive damage resistance.
- Skill - Toughness
- Tank gains +10% max health and +20% reload speed.
- Skill - Provoke
- When hit by enemy fire or grenades, Tank gains +15% damage and +30% accuracy for 5 seconds. Being hit while under the effect of Provoke refreshes the duration.
- Skill - Blitzkrieg
- While shooting, Tank gains +15% damage resistance and -10% movement speed. While not shooting, Tank gains +10% movement speed. This skill only works while using primary weapons.
- Skill - Unstoppable Force
- Tank gains +4% damage and +4% damage resistance. Additionally, Tank gains another stack of these buffs per kill. Caps at 3 kills (max 16% reload speed and 16% rate of fire).
- Trait - Regeneration and resistance
Available Weapons
- Primary
- Commando (Assault Rifle)
- Bruiser (LMG)
- Brute (LMG)
- Prybar (LMG)
- Chainsaw (LMG)
- Mongoose (Shotgun)
- Secondary
- Blackhawk (Pistol)
- Mammoth (Shotgun Pistol)
- Rhino (Shotgun Pistol)
- Agent (Pistol)
- Primary
Berserker
Berserker is a legit rusher with his high damage and movement speed (and we like it). However, we feel that his map invisibility might be a bit too much. To compensate for his lost trait, Berserker gains a few weapons, securing him the most varied arsenal in the game.
- Class Changes
- Trait - Map invisibility when running removed
- Weapon Distribution
- Felon added as a primary weapon
- Assault Rifle with higher DPS and movement speed, but lower range compared to other ARs
- Whirlwind added as a secondary weapon
- Felon added as a primary weapon
- Weapon Balance
- Anakonda recoil reduced
- Supernova hip-fire accuracy drastically increased and damage reduced
- Whirlwind and Quickfix movement speed reduced
- Whirlwind and Quickfix clip size and reserve ammo increased
Vanguard
Vanguard is probably the most powerful class of Ballistic Overkill right now. While he’s designed to be an all around class, his healing abilities are being nerfed in this patch.
- Class Changes
- Trait - Health Regeneration on Kill
- Vanguard doesn’t recover 10% health instantly on kill anymore. Instead, every time you kill an enemy, Vanguard recovers 2.5% health per second for 4 seconds. Killing another enemy while this effect is active adds 4 more seconds to the duration
- Skill - Regeneration
- Makes Vanguard’s health regeneration trait become always active
- Weapon Distribution
- Executioner as a primary weapon
- Average AR with good hip fire accuracy
- Stalker as a primary weapon
- Good accuracy + grenade launcher secondary function
- Heavy Metal as a secondary weapon
- Substituting the other pistols he’s losing. Very similar to Switchblade in terms of balance.
- Commando, Blackhawk and Switchblade removed
- Executioner as a primary weapon
- Weapon Balance
- Bonebreaker recoil reduced
- Widower recoil when aiming reduced slightly
Wraith
Wraith has been performing his ranged stealth assassin role very well, specially with his new powerful skills from the new system. In this patch we’re slightly reducing his survivability because we feel we is performing a bit too well in close range.
- Class Changes
- HP reduced to 150
- Weapon Balance
- All Sniper Rifles aiming sensitivity increased slightly
- Twister and Agitator damage reduced slightly
- Twister and Agitator movement speed while aiming reduce slightly
- Hydra damage and range increased
- Hydra recoil decreased
- Deadeye and Judge rate of fire increased
- Judge hip-fire accuracy increased
Shadow
Shadow has been in a decent place since his arrival. However, there’s a few things that we don’t like. He’s a bit too squishy and Scorpion seems to be dominating too much in the primary weapon category. To make things more competitive in this slot, all of his other primary weapons received small buffs, while Scorpion received a very small damage nerf.
- Class Changes
- HP increased to 160
- Weapon Distribution
- Switchblade added as a primary weapon
- Whirlwind removed
- Weapon Balance
- Cyclone and Hurricane clip size and reserve ammo increased
- Typhoon damage increased slightly
- Scorpion damage decreased slightly
- Switchblade and Persuader max ammo increased
Grenadier
Grenadier’s arrival was a bit scary and resulted in lots of grenades spamming on small maps. After rebalancing his GLs and prioritizing on-hit explosions, the spamming reduced by a lot and he has found a better (while smaller) place in the game. In this patch we’re improving his skills to match his design and adjusting his GLs to make it a little more comfortable to play with him.
- Class Changes
- Trait - Explosion Resistance added
- +50% explosions resistance
- Skill - Firearms Expert reworked
- +10% damage, +10% rate of fire and +5 meters to range of all weapons
- Weapon Balance
- All Grenade Launchers reload time decreased
- All Grenade Launchers reload time decreased
- Destructor explosion range and projectile force increased slightly
- One Shot damage on direct hits reduced
- Terminator recoil increased
- Sawblade hip-fire accuracy increased
Fixes and Changes
- FOV and Aiming Sensitivity Sliders added to the Options Menu
- Reset Loadouts button added to the Options Menu
- Restarting the game is necessary for changes to take place
- Aiming improved in both Toggle and Hold mode
- Toggle now works instantly with semi-automatic rifles, even if the shooting animation is still running
- Hold received several upgrades and is much more responsive.
- All pistols crosshair changed
- Reload blend animation fixed
- With some weapons, the sprinting and reloading animations didn’t blend well into each other.
- Voting for the same map that was last played disabled
- We intend to test more with map drafts in the future, but, for now, this should encourage more map diversity.
Patch 1.1.3 - Release Notes Weapon Distribution Changes:
- Persuader changed to Shadow’s primary
- Blackhawk and Switchblade changed to Vanguard’s secondary
- Hydra changed to Wraith’s secondary

Hello, guys! How’s everyone new year? Hope you’re all doing well! As you can see, we’re back from holidays and ready to roll! This year, however, we’re focusing on bigger updates, like the new UI update from December. To be more specific, right now we’re working on a brand new skill tree system that will replace the current one. This new system should simplify things both for new players and veterans, giving them more clear and substantial skills options. This also means we’re working to bring the other classes back to the game! You can read more about this new system on our forums: http://forum.aquiris.com.br/index.php?topic=856.0 So, you’ll probably no longer see one update every week, but rest assured we’re still working very hard to make Ballistic Overkill the best game for you! Also, we’re still very active around both Aquiris, Steam forums and social media, so keep sending us bug reports, suggestions and general feedback, it helps a lot! Thanks everyone for your support and have a wonderful year!
Hello, guys! As we bring you this last update of 2015, we’d like to go back and think about how exciting this year has been for all of us here at Aquiris Game Studio. We’re really happy with how things are coming along with Ballistic Overkill and we want to thank you all for your support, enthusiasm and feedback during these first 3 months of Early Access development. We accomplished our main goals for this year, having implemented the Dedicated Servers feature and part of the New UI in the game, but we still have a lot of ground to cover in 2016. Our plans are to tackle classes, skill tree rework and a new HUD early next year, so stay tuned to our Trello boards and forums! And now for the release notes!

Again, thank you all for the amazing support! Our team wishes you happy holidays and a wonderful new year, see you again in 2016!
Thank you for all the quick feedback we received after this major update. We made some extra effort this weekend to make the game stable again and fix serious issues in the last build. Everyone should be able to play without so many crashes: - Improved overall stability. Play several matches in a row should not be a problem anymore. - Fixed resolution problems. If you had performance issues in the last build, you can now decrease your fullscreen resolution and the interface will remain in place. - MacOS version is also a lot more stable. Mac users can join the fight once again! We will keep testing to make sure everything run smoothly this time. Thank you for the support!

That way the community will know your server or even your clan's server :) We'll be posting a tutorial on the forums on how to setup your dedicated server. If you should have any questions, please ask us in the thread. Game features
Select a role from one of the unique game characters, each with their own skill tree and weapon arsenal. On the full game you’ll be able to level up to unlock additional loadouts and weapon skins to show off your experience with it. Mercenaries are designed to compliment each other’s skills, but each is fully capable of delivering insane frags on the battlefield: no wimpy support classes, in Ballistic everyone is a killer!Early Access Classes

- The Berserker – a deadly close combat specialist with vicious skills that enable him to engage his prey on his own terms.
- The Wraith – a master infiltrator that rarely misses their mark with the deadliest sniper rifles that can turn invisible with limited mobility.
Future Classes
- The Tank – a towering machine-gun totting bulwark of a mercenary, draw all the attention to you and live through it to tell your story.
- The Grenadier – the bane of the campers and master of ordnance, carrying enough grenades to gib out entire teams.
- The Shadow – master of speed and stealth, the silent blade can easily dodge bullets and make your enemies cry in frustration whenever you get them from behind.
- The Engineer – with his powerful exoskeleton, the engineer can carry the heaviest weaponry and a drone that can deploy as a guardian turret.
- The Medic – with his next-gen field medical gauntlet, the medic can boost nearby teammates and quickly revive them amidst a firefight.
- The Huntress – the master of stealth and silent kills, the huntress utilizes a custom-fitted arsenal of bows and arrows to stalk and take down their prey undetected.
Fully loaded arsenal
Starting with an arsenal of 24 unique weapons on our Early Access, we’ll quickly expand ranging from state of the art modern assault rifles, light machine guns, sub-machine guns, machine-pistols, shotguns, sniper rifles and sidearms to more specialized ones like grenade launchers and ninja swords. There is ever a new way to kill your enemies in Ballistic.
Tactical skills
Each character has two unique skill-trees designed to allow you great strategic and tactical advantages over your opponents: each has many options so make sure to try and come up with a build that fits your playstyle: Do you prefer to run and gun with extra damage for sprinting? Or take a more strategic approach and reveal enemies on the minimap for you and your friends?
Unique locations
Each level is crafted to deliver a unique atmosphere and allowing four gameplay modes. Starting from the 3 maps available at the start of the Early Access, we already have 9 maps to be released.

- Overhead: a compact warehouse filled with containers and moving platforms sets the tone for intense close-combat firefights.
- Hollow: a close-quarters focused map set in the bowels of a secret facility under construction.
- Nox Museum: a mix of long and multi-layered corridors and close quarters adjacent rooms makes this contemporary art museum an exciting battleground.

Game Universe
A new form of energy was discovered 15 years ago. Clean, safe and abundant, it changed the course of civilization. It’s 2035 and a secret war surfaces for the first time...
It happened faster than anyone could have predicted. Scientists found a bacterial moss living in the most extreme and remote places of the world that could do a strange form of photosynthesis, releasing Hydrogen in gaseous form as a byproduct. By means of artificial cultivation in large scale, H2 burning would fuel the world into a new era of clean energy with pure water as a byproduct. Seeing how their grasp on power would soon end, oil mega-corporations seized what control they had on global politics and made sure that this breakthrough be maintained under tight control.
The MFA has claimed a monopoly on this technology, regulating distribution, production and further research, claiming that this is the best way to provide everyone with access to it. Many other private parties do not agree with the terms of this monopoly, their opinion that only the free market can truly defend people's interest without the rampant corruption that runs in political organizations.
The war begun when mysterious mercenary strikes were launched on several MFA facilities across the globe, all related with MFA governmental activities. The MFA itself doesn’t want much information about their actions being divulged, so decided to fight back hiring their own mercenary forces who could neutralize the threat as soon as possible. These mercenaries are highly trained mysterious fighters from across the globe. They have no loyalty but to their current contract, no interests but to accomplish their missions as both sides are fighting this war in secrecy from the public attention.
Long term development
Ballistic has been in the making for a few years. What started out as a purely F2P browser game developed for a publisher has evolved to be our passionate self-published game. After bringing it to the market with a publishing partner, we are now assuming full control of the product, and we feel there is an audience that will enjoy the game with no microtransactions and a complete overhaul. We have worked hard on the foundation of Ballistic Overkill and will start as an Early Access game so our player community can give us feedback from the very start, helping us shape what this new Ballistic will be.
The game will receive constant updates and extra content. You can expect new weapon packs, characters, game modes and levels that are already in the works as well as weapon and character skin vanity DLC to show-off on the battlefield. You can check our plans and track our development on our forums and public task board, voting on what features you want in the game first. We hope you like it and take your time to participate in the game’s development, it is being made by us for you, so help us make it even better! We are committed to bringing this vision to reality and your support is very much appreciated. See you in-game!
