Went back in time to fix some remaining bugs: - fixed bug where running steam in offline mode while subscribed to mods would lock the game on the loading screen - fixed bug with incorrect screen fit on very large aspect ratios (e.g. 21:9) - fixed bug where no more than 30 mods could be active at the same time (After restart) Also, in case you didn't already now, Door Kickers 2 exists now!

Hey folks, we just released Door Kickers 2 in Early Access! Took us a long time, but we finally summoned up the courage to show it and we hope you'll like it. New theme, new tools, new tech that will allow us to eventually go much further in breadth and depth than DK1 has allowed us to. The game is currently in Early Access, so it's a bit more limited in content than DK1, but we need your help to be able to make something great out of it! PS: We currently have a fidelity discount available for previous Door Kickers users, which will only last for two weeks, up to November 18th. This week we've launched our pixelated, not so serious spin-off from the Door Kickers Franchise - Action Squad. https://store.steampowered.com/app/686200/Door_Kickers_Action_Squad/ And you Door Kickers owners can take advantage of our War on Doors bundle to get the new game at a special price ;) https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/5400/War_On_Doors_Collection/ What is Action Squad? I suppose this trailer will explain better: https://youtu.be/ZEo-J4eA9WU In other news, Door Kickers 2 (aka Task Force North) is still in production, but not out yet. On the other hand, Frozen Synapse 2 is out today, and it includes a very promising dynamic campaign. Give it a look, it might scratch that tactics itch until DK2 ;) https://store.steampowered.com/app/445020/Frozen_Synapse_2/

What's more to say? Door Kickers now has Cooperative Multiplayer. Oh look, a button with "Nominate for THE LABOR OF LOVE award" on the store page, interesting! Complete changelist follows after this awesome trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHEUuhfI86c -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.1.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Features: - Online cooperative mode (Steam version only) - Changed the way grenades are thrown: clicking on the UI item automatically "sticks" the grenade to the mouse pointer and is released when clicking again. - Optimizations for slower CPUs - Reduced HDD and RAM consumption by using better compression for sound files - Can now use language-specific characters to edit trooper names. Fixes: - Fixed grenades taking a different trajectory than shown (hitting walls when they shouldn't). - Fixed some mods not showing up in the Mods menu except when selecting their specific tag. - Fixed troopers sometimes not waiting for gocodes before doing an action. - Fixed being unable to use language-specific characters when editing trooper names. - Fixed breaching charges sometimes blowing up in the wrong direction. - Fixed bad line breaks in Doctrine texts.

Features: - Japanese localization added. - Improved FPS for very low-spec hardware. - Tablet mode: can now create "strafe" waypoints by double-tapping on the "look this way" waypoints. Fixes: - Fixed some mods not showing up in the Mods menu and/or not working (specifically for maps created with the in-game editor). - Fixed officers getting stuck on evidence that had been previously destroyed. - Fixed crash when clicking on "News" without Internet access. - Fixed not showing all available localized languages in the Options menu.

[CLARIFICATION] JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOLS' JOKE
It’s the right time for our first player unit reveal from Task Force North – The Ranger Pointman Class.
Highly trained in the use of worn-out government-issued handguns, the Pointman dominates Close Range space without ever needing melee weapons or even holsters.
Once properly upgraded, he gains access to dual handguns and becomes the Akimbo Ranger, the ultimate pure CQB death dealer in Door Kickers metaverse as well as in a few others. Moreover, the handguns are now equipped with silencers, which obviously makes them completely silent and reliable.
Once a kill is achieved, the Akimbo Ranger automatically assumes specific celebration poses meant to demoralize all enemies within sight, as well as realism purists reading this text.
And what better and tactically sound way to celebrate Victory, than turning your back defiantly to the enemy? We’ll call this one, totally random, the “Over The Shoulder” pose.

The sequel to the critic and public-acclaimed Door Kickers moves the action to the Middle East and puts the player in control of military Special Operations Teams fighting an elusive Terrorist Network.
Gone are the SWAT shields and tazers, enter the beltfeds and frag grenades. Door Kickers 2 casts the player as leader of the eponymous Task Force, handling units such as the US Rangers and assets like drones to respond to threats, solve crises and hunt the enemy on his own turf.
Once the Tactics Phase starts, things are meatier and deadlier. Extraction and Insertion now become equally critical, but so does telling the bad guys from bystanders and innocents.
They say that great responsibility should actually come with greater power, so players can now take advantage of nighttime, darkness or even good old sneaking to surprise the enemy. New trooper classes, weapons, tools and gadgets open up the tactical options, but one thing does not change: You’ll live and you’ll die by your tactics.
And then you’ll hit Restart and try again.
To help with the challenge, Door Kickers 2 adds Cooperative Multiplayer to the existing mix of Single Player Missions and Campaign. And since you can never have too much content, the game comes with complete modding support, improved mission editor and partial source code access. Yes, we can; it’s our own custom built 3D engine. We’re cool, crazy, or most likely both.
(Special note for our fans and Doggy: Adversarial Multiplayer is still in the books but will make the subject of a separate announcement later this year)
[url=http://inthekillhouse.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/dk2_early_wip.jpg]
Key points to Door Kickers 2 - Task Force North:
- Choose which unit to deploy for each mission and adjust your tactics accordingly Surgical Operations or Overwhelming Firepower - anything is possible.
- Use Night Vision, Drone reconnaissance and other realistic gadgets
- True freeform tactics taken to the next level: Turn off the lights and hide in the dark. Break windows and jump over ledges.
- Go fast to the target or slow and methodical. And if you make a mistake, adapt and overcome.
- Face new threats such as suicide bombers, booby traps and RPG launchers.
- Use new Tactical Abilities. Group your troopers for easier movement.Establish Rules of Engagement - you name it and … we’ll talk :)
- Lots of hush hush stuff we’ll announce along the way. And take that literally ;)

Hello, friends!
-In the last year, we have seen Door Kickers being released on mobile platforms, with iPads, Android tablets and phablets getting full attention from us. We designed a new interface taking into account touch based interaction, fingers covering the screen and all the issues related to how people hold tablets in their hands. And we’ve made it easy to import your PC saves on to handhelds and back, to continue your strategizing wherever you are.
We must have done a pretty good job as Pocket Tactics named us runner-up to strategy game of the year 2015 – just in time for New Year’s Eve Champagne!
Since you guys are the greatest fans in the world, we made sure we delivered back – so all our direct customers got the game on Android, as an extra freebie. We also worked with modder extraordinaire Red Panda to get the first mods on to the handhelds, which is not often seen on those platforms.
Based on your feedback, we’ve also translated Door Kickers to popular languages. You can now play the game in English, French, German, Polish, Russian and Spanish, with other languages in-progress over at the Steam Workshop.
Last, but not least, Door Kickers has been picked up by publisher UIEG.DE. Expect the game to hit retail shelves in February.
As 2015 has come to an end, it’s time to talk about the future, and the future is Door Kickers 2 … and more. DK2 brings the step to 3D: environments, characters – but keeps the clear and easy-to-use top down perspective and hardcore, unforgiving action. It keeps the real life action but moves it to a new and exciting setting. And it changes … everything. Oh, are we being a little vague? Yes, we are. On Sunday, January the 17th of 2016 you will know more. In case you wonder, that’s exactly 3 years after we let the first news out on Door Kickers.
So stay tuned, and have a Happy New Year! Your Dev Team @ KillHouse Games

Small update today - you can now play Door Kickers in French and German language.
As before, you can help us by reporting any translation issues here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/248610/discussions/1/ or via email (devteam AT inthekillhouse.com)
There's a free steam key waiting for anyone that correctly reports a translation issue that we're able to verify and improve the game with

Hello, KHG crowd!
First of all, the game has been updated to include localization support. For the moment this includes Spanish, Russian and Polish, with more languages to follow. Help us out by reporting any translation issues in any of the new forums:
On Steam Forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/248610/discussions/1/
Or via email:devteam@inthekillhouse.com (Pro-tip: write in english for best results, we hardly understand more than Romanian/English/French).
What about other languages?
More are coming but let us know your needs and preferences. Translation mods will now be supported to work directly in the game and we will work with mod makers to help them achieve that.
If you weren't aware, the game is now available also on Android for tablets and large phones: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.khg.doorkickers&hl=en
Now, for the full patch content list:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Features:
- 4 new maps
- 4 new weapons.
- Localization support. Added translations into Russian, Spanish and Polish. More coming.
- Video exporting of replays is now much faster.
- Decreased memory requirements for the game, should no longer cause problems on systems with 2GB RAM.
- Increased font size in several places.
Fixes:
- Stinger grenades will no longer explode through walls.
- Several crashes related to older mods.
- Campaigns page not being displayed correctly in some cases.
- Fixed several bugs related to AI.
Have fun :)

Today we celebrate the launch of Door Kickers on iPads, which is a big milestone for us and a project we had in mind for a long time. But since you are reading this announcement you obviously are a PC player and want to know how this affects you. Here are the quick facts:
- Door Kickers iPad is the exact same hardcore game you know and love, but has the interface adapted for smaller screens and touch controls
- The game supports cross platform saves compatibility. This means that you can game on the PC when at home… or at work, export the save and continue playing on your iPad! No need to start from scratch on the new platform, you will use your elite squad from the PC.
- The iPad release brings a new campaign and 2 new weapons. These have also been added to the PC version via patch 1.08.
- One of the new weapons is the suppressed Six 12 shotgun, available to both breachers and Stealth troopers. It should open up some interesting tactical options.
- Using the iPad you can show your awesome tactical skills to your buddies.
- Most importantly, development on the PC continues.
- New campaign.
- Two new shotguns.
- Tablet mode: activate the new GUI and control scheme optimized for touchscreen displays and trackpads.
- Added import/export save-games capability, to share progress between different platforms (PC-Mac-Linux-iOS).
- Improved path-drawing smoothness on some maps.
- Increased maximum zoom-in distance.
- Saved plan no longer randomly resetting when restarting a mission.
- Fixed incorrect window size when sometimes running in Windows 8.1 (high-dpi scaling).
- Fixed crash under certain conditions in the deploy screen.
- Music is now looping after winning a mission.
- Various fixes and improvements for many maps.
- Issue where troopers could go through doors.
- Bug where gocodes would get canceled.
- Trackpad right-click emulation changed to Z (though now you should activate the Tablet mode option).
- Various other improvements and fixes regarding GUI and gameplay.
- Music is now streamed instead of keeping it whole in memory, which should fix some crashes on 2GB systems.
- Fixed starting resolution on Windows high-dpi devices.

Update: Since April the 1st is now far in the past, I'm adding this clarification for the late readers: DoorKickerZ doesn't really exist. There are no zombies in Door Kickers. This was all just an April's 1st Joke :)
You guys have constantly asked us about the next update. Now, after years of silent and selfless work, we are ready to reveal it - the Door KickerZ is real!!!
It’s been 2 months since the conclusion of the “Terror at Sea” campaign, and a sinister sub-plot comes to light. The police have failed to locate and disarm a deadly nerve agent dispenser hidden in the belly of the Luigi Balauro, and it has contaminated the waters of Nowhere City Harbor.
Now, the fruits of your bad performance come to life - the deadly Zombies attack!
Note: If you have actually disarmed the device during your play of “Terror at Sea”, you will be unable to run Door KickerZ. It just wouldn’t make any historical sense, would it? We’re sorry for any inconvenience. No refunds.
New Features:
- 4 new enemy types: Basic Zombie, Covert Zombie, Ghillie Zombie and Chalk Outline Zombie
- dynamic zombie generation based on realistic simulation of a made up nerve agent
- “Are you mad?” confirmation screen when pressing ESC by accident on the Mission Failed Screen.
- Bonus: All Zombie requests will be deleted from the forum
- 6 new weapons including fan favorite Mac-10 and Armor Piercing Mp9.
- Whatever bullshit armor the Juggernauts were wearing.
- 3 new gear pieces including the often requested Live Chicken Decoy!
Door KickerZ is the official sequel to the critically acclaimed and highly successful SWAT command game Door Kickers (with an s). Coming to Win / Mac / PC in mid 2015.

- New scenario type: Robbery in Progress.
- 9 new weapons.
- 1 new enemy type.

- Added 16 new Steam Achievements (entry-level ones).
Fixes:
- Replays sometimes getting desynchronized (bug introduced in 1.0.3).
- Saved plan sometimes being deleted.
- Campaign Won screen showing when losing all troopers.
- Troopers sometimes going through doors without triggering any action.
- Crash related to some mods.

Hello, friends!
When this year started, we found ourselves on PC Gamer’s list as “one of the best/most promising strategy games of 2014”. As it ends, we’re Rock Paper Shotgun’s “best tactics game of the year”.
What’s most important, we’ve delivered to you and got the game out, and we are currently enjoying a steam user rating of Overwhelmingly Positive. It’s not uncommon to see happy users with 50+ or even 100+ hours of gaming time, and all this confirms we must be doing something right :)
The workshop and modding scene are very active, and the release of the improved mission editor makes creating maps from scratch completely possible.
What’s next for KillHouse Games? We’re obviously not done with Door Kickers and Update 1.06 is almost ready for full release. But even after that, we have new features in mind, new campaigns to write and new threats or tools to throw at you.
Bigger things are also coming. Bringing multiplayer to Door Kickers, porting Door Kickers to other platforms, as you requested, and even moving Door Kickers to other places in the world. Nowhere City is a homely home, but we’re wondering how they call their double taps in, say, Russian? And who knows Mp5s better – the Germans or the Brits?
Those of you that follow our interviews also know we do have some plans for Door Kickers 2, and even another project. Decisions and plans are to me made but you’re probably going to see more than just Door Kickers stuff from KillHouse Games, next year.
So here’s to 2015 and here’s to you – our awesome community. You took us from 3 guys with a fun prototype to a solid team with the best tactical game on the market.
So thank you, and have a Happy New Year!
Your Dev Team @ KillHouse Games

Hey there Door Kickers,
As you know, there was a big Winter update planned for this December. Don't worry, it's still coming!
Since there is a lot of new content, we decided to split it in two updates in order to gain more time to deliver high quality stuff.
So here's Part 1 of the Winter Update:
Features:
- Can now paint floors in the editor + several other editor improvements.
- Added shortcut for stealth Fire button (F).
- New mod: Winter Games (example for implementing weapons with projectiles and custom map music).
- Improved loading speed.
Fixes:
- One single-mission map was missing on Linux and Mac.
- Broken Mac OSX scroll for magic mouse and trackpad.
- Re-added Right-Click keyboard shortcut useful for trackpads (now C, instead of Shift).
- Pointmen not being able to switch weapon from tazer to pistol.
- Incorrect reload time stats for cyclic reload weapons (shotguns, revolvers).
- Sniper hud disappearing from multi-storey maps.
- Showing campaign success screen even when losing all missions.
- Crash related to mods and picking locks.
- Crash when enabling and disabling certain mods.
- Enemies not shooting back after recovering from a tazer shock.
- Pre-planning more than 1 breaching charge not working.
- A bug with failing final campaign map, restarting it and still finishing campaign.
- Sometimes campaign would not finish even when all troopers were dead.
- Hostages not always following you when changing floors.
- Trooper switching to primary weapon after detonating a door while pistol was equipped.
Modding:
- Weapons can now shoot with projectiles, check out the two examples in equipment_patch_4.xml (Grenade Launcher and Bow) and the "Winter Games" mod.
- Can now set custom music for a map. Check the "Winter Games" mod for an example.
- Added "ejectShells" option for firearms (revolvers no longer eject shells).
Coming up in Part2:
- new campaign (longest yet)
- new single missions
- new weapons
- new scenario type
- new enemies
In the meantime, let's see those maps made with the new editor, we feel a contest coming up!

Analyze the situation, plan team routes, choose equipment and breach points and coordinate multiple troopers to reach the hostage room before the bad guys get to press that trigger.
It may sound daunting, and like real world CQB combat, it sure is. But most levels can be completed in minutes and on the fly improvisation works. Achieving the perfect planning, getting the mission done with no false steps, that’s a skill harder to master.
Quick Points:
- 2D, Top Down for optimal tactical analysis
- Real Time With Free Pause
- No turns, no hexes, no action points or awkward interfaces
- Realistic but action packed
- Non-linear levels, freeform gameplay
- Mission editor and modability
- Unlimited gameplay via mission generator and level editor
- Single Player (but MP might come later)
