In the Dead of Night

The day and night cycle has always been at the heart of our franchise, and we want players to fear going out once the suns set. The nights in Villedor are not just darker but also scarier, thanks to the Volatiles that now roam the streets. These apex predators were part of what made the nighttime so dangerous in Dying Light, and we know players wanted this sense of dread to return with Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Before this update, the nights were never safe, but they felt manageable Now, you'll be lucky to make it to sunrise.

Give It a Good Run

Sometimes the only way to survive is to run away. We've further improved the parkour by adding new animations, increased control in the air, and more momentum between movements.

While parkour is the highlight of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, some experienced players wanted it to be more challenging. We responded to this feedback by introducing a new parkour style, Physical Parkour, specifically designed to cater to these wishes. Now, you can select in the Settings menu whether youd like to have more control over your movement, for a grounded and intense journey, or go with the assisted gameplay.

New Color Grading Options and More

Weve also added two new color grading options: Harran Sunset and Darker Nights, and extra graphics options for those playing on Ultra settings. Additionally, youll now be able to throw weapons and retrieve them later. And finally, we have introduced some UI modifications and added more transmog options.

The Summer of Horrors

In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, the next few months will be full of events, crossovers, and updates, as we celebrate the Summer of Horrors. Our next event will be Bloody Nights, where youll be tasked with looting valuables dotted around Villedor, all while trying to hide from and escape those pesky Volatiles! Throughout the event, they will grow in both power and number, so you will need to keep your wits about you! For your efforts, youll be duly rewarded with some must-have items, including Hakons Crossbow and The Pricks Outfit. Bloody Nights will be available until 16:00 CEST on July 13.

Make children in Harran happy by collecting as many presents as you can and delivering them to quartermasters. Youll find lost gifts in airdrops, Rais supply stashes, and quarantine zones, but some got stolen by mischievous Bolters. These scoundrels will make a run for it as soon as they see you.

On the other hand, Tiny Goblin Zombies chase you on sight. They might look cute in their little green jackets, but youll quickly learn they are mean! By chance, youve found yourself with quite an opportunity. The eccentric engineer twins, Tolga and Fatin, have decided to get really inspired with their inventions.Whether youre a high roller at the casino or a sharpshooter in the streets, the Pocket 7s will give anyone, or anything, a run for their money. Will you roll the dice and see what effect you end up with?

To obtain such a finely crafted weapon, youll have to hunt down and kill seven different types of enemies: Goon, Demolisher, Viral, Biter, Toad, Gas Tank, and a Volatile. Oh, and look, lucky you! Theres a few extra perks with the job. Low gravity and Super Crane have been activated to help you make sure you really can get creative and deal with all the monsters. But your streak doesnt end thereyour ammo will be auto-restored in every Save Zone too. We wouldnt want you to run out of that, now would we? Once youve completed your mission and obtained your Pocket 7s, youll roll for one of seven different effects every time you reload: electric bullets, poison bullets, freeze bullets, explosive bullets, super zombie grenade bullets, ballet grenade bullets, and statis bullets.
Theres one thing thats always constant thoughyou landing on your feet.

In the early 20th century, as Volkan Machines, they didnt have much time to lounge about either, producing a variety of arms for the best of soldiers. Now, having been found years later, the weapons unique design and deadly effects will support your cause as well.

From all the relics we found, one is like nothing youve fought with before. Make room for the Gut Render, your new chainsaw! Cutting through armor like a hot knife through butter, its deadliness hasnt withered one bit since its heyday. Gut Render comes with a bleeding effect and an increased critical damage chance too, allowing you to throw a truly bloody spectacle for your foes. Though, if youd rather tune it down a little, take a look at the Flesh Ripper. A bit more subtle, it combines all the finesse of a blade with the lethality of a saw and a moderate bleeding effect.

But there are times when you might want to keep your hands clean(-er), and for all these moments, theres the Greaser. Pick it up to add a little vintage twist to your act, and grease zombies like a regular with this old-school SMG. Now all you need is an appropriate outfit and something to drive around with all those weapons, right? Put on the Punk'd Beret set to match your arsenal, and jump into the new Rugged Roadster buggy! (Psst! Youll save on fuel with its unique, economical perk!)

Just as we thought we had this mess under control The GRE have deemed our battle a lost causewere an exclusion zone now. No more airdrops, no more supplies. Were on our own here. But if theres one thing we dont do in Harran, its giving up. We cant. Weve been holding on for so long, and well hold on until the end.

Spike can get some of the remaining survivors out of the city, but they wont make it without resources. Scarce as they are now, the airdrops are their only chance to escape. Collect them, and bring them to Spike, so he could start the preparations. But be quick! No GRE supplies means no more medications, and Virals are growing in numbers really fast. Even the protection suits dont seem to be enough to stop the infection now. Spike will help you with all he has, upgrading your weapon first into the Spark Plug with an electricity mode, and then into the Alternatoran even stronger variantthough its you who must face the hell out there. You must give it your best, one more time.

Rais has fallen, but its not the end of our problems with the bandits. Quite the contrary, to be honest. With their leader gone, they are flooding Harran, all loose and frenzied, ravaging whatever stands in their way. Their strike on a survivors shelter exposed those hiding inside to the infection, bringing on a host of freshly-turned Virals to deal with. As if we hadnt had enough of them already

But not alls lost. Spikes organizing a safe zone for the survivors who managed to escape. There are still many who need help getting there, though, and it will take some real grit and extraordinary skill to brave the storm and bring them to safety. You are their only hope now. Camden wanted to equip them with his special suits, but unfortunately, only some of them managed to get them. As few as they are, they might prove really useful, so keep your eyes peeled! Oh, and as for the zombie situationthink Spike already has an idea on how to deal with it. Just follow his instructions, and we might stand a chance.

Use your Super Cranes powers to wipe those carved smiles off their pumpkin faces, and dont forget to collect their trick-or-treat potions. Warning: Use with caution! Their effects can be surprising.

The community will want to collect as many of these as possible, so help them, and youll definitely be rewarded. And dont forget to get rid of the Goons, Virals, and Volatiles! They disguised themselves, but dont be fooled. Theyre no trick-or-treaters. Finish the bounties, though, and youll see theres something nice waiting for you in return.

Once youre done having fun with that, grab the V-23 Eraser, a rifle shooting laser bullets with a dazzling effect, which can set your enemies on fire. With this one, youre sure to eradicate anyone and anything on your way. Things got personal and you got trouble deciding how you want your foes served? Poisoned, burned, or shocked? Slash the Infected with the V-27 Shifter and youll have all of these covered, as your machete changes its deadly effect after consecutive hits. And in Harran, you must always choose you. Fortunately, youve got just enough of too long, tangled cables that have been waiting all those years to finally come in useful and colourful LED lights (because we all know everythings better backlit) to turn your hardware into deadly and stylish weapons. Well, more than that. Gaming weapons! That instantly makes them better, right?

Now, its time to show the infected your new gear! Chain at least three hits with the new one-handed axeRGB AXE-Padto apply shock damage! Or, if youd rather use something heavier, smash them with the Next-Gen Maul hammer. Use a charged attack to let its power flow through the circuit and shock your enemies. The Chicken Ninja is back in town, which means we can get the annual Harran Egg Hunt rolling. As the name of the event suggests, the objective is to collect special Easter eggs the more, the better. You will find them among the usual loot in various containers, but as you explore the city, youll also notice little zombies dressed in white. Those might not exactly be the cute Easter Bunnies we all deserve, but theyre what weve got nevertheless. If you catch and kill one, you get an egg too. In case you wonder why the eggs look like decorated grenades its because thats what they are. They come in four different types and can be used in combat to poison the enemies, freeze them, set them on fire, or knock them out.

When the community reaches the global goal, everyone will receive three gold weapon dockets. There are also two rewards for completing personal bounties a gold weapon and the Cock-A-Doodle-Do Outfit (the legendary Chicken Ninja apparel). The event ends on Wednesday (April 7, 19:00 CEST). Thanks to you, Hothead Joe is finally gone, but that's not the end of trouble. Another freak of nature terrorizes Harran and the GRE has no choice but to ask for your help once again.


Excavator Mike is another one of the undead GRE agents we've managed to pin down. Big and strong, he's trying to finish what Joe starteddestroy both the city and its survivors. He also happens to be carrying a recipe for the GRE potion responsible for his mutations. Luckily for you, you're very much alive and able to use the ""GREcipe"" to your advantage. Kill him to get a blueprint for the special mixture. For a short time, it will grant you infinite stamina and boost some of your stats. With its help, you'll hunt the infected down even more efficiently. While looking for Mike, you might spot some of the supply drops the GRE distributed in an effort to mitigate the damage done by the mutants. Help other players retrieve enough of them and get a King Mod as a thank-you!

The zombies refuse to give up; in fact, their numbers are rising as we speak. With the situation in Harran getting worse by the hour, were left with no other choice but to send a Harran Tactical Unit into the city. Become one of these elite officers and give the infected a taste of what happens when professionals enter the scene. Which youll do at roaring speed in your new buggy, the Four-Wheeler. By the time zombies see your lights flashing, it will be too late for them to retreat. Clear your way with a special HTU hammer thatll send your enemies flying with its permanent hypermode effect. Then, open fire before they rally and pick them off with your new rifle or shotgun. Do whatevers necessary, but remember: the operation must not fail.

Although were celebrating, the citizens of Harran are still in grave danger. A while ago, the GRE sent their agents into the field, equipping them with special boost potionsthe GREcipe. Unfortunately, the mission didnt go off as planned and the operatives died. Now, they walk around Harran as undead, terrorizing the city and wreaking havoc among survivors. And thats not all. Since the GREcipe caused mutations in their bodies, they are not just some regular undead, but tough and strong freaks of nature. Its going to take skill and wit to hunt them down, but the bounty is generous.


First, find and pacify Hothead Joe, an undead HTU officer. Youll recognize him by his size and the HTU helmet. Defeat him, and youll be free to loot his HyperArgument hammer as well as other higher-level items. Being a special goon, he'll also grant you a significant XP boost each time you kill him! When on your way, make sure to also help the survivors scattered around Harran. Assist them, and if the community reaches the goal, you'll be rewarded with a gold weapon! Youve got one week to deal with Joe and save the survivors, as another freak of nature is already approaching, and he'll be here soon.

It kept coming back, until the villagers learned it was terrified of loud noises, fire, and the color red. That is how the bright and loud Chinese New Year festivities were bornfrom the villagers efforts to ward off the beast.

Lets welcome the Year of the Ox with a bang to make sure Nin keeps away from Harran. Dress for the occasion with the free Ox Warrior bundle, stuff your pockets full of trap bombs (weve increased their damage for the duration of the Lunar Event) and go make some noise in the streets by blowing zombies to pieces. Dont worry if you cant craft your own trap bombs the Quartermasters will supply you daily with 3 pieces of each variant (exploding, shrapnel, toxic). While youre at it, be sure to pick up some fireworks as well. Available only during the event, these special items will lure monsters like regular firecrackers, then set them aflame as they go off and illuminate the sky with dazzling pyrotechnics. Talk about mixing pleasure with business!

Kill enough zombies with trap bombs and fireworks to complete your personal bounty and claim the gold Leaping Tiger Dao as a reward forged especially for the occasion. Land at least 3 consecutive hits with this beautiful sword, and its blade will light up with ancient power that grants you a damage boost. Dont stop there, though, because partying hard will really pay off. If the community reaches its goal, everyone who contributed will earn 3 King Mods. Hows that for kicking off the new lunar year?

Those weapons you got used to in Harran had to go to, but dont worry, youll get yourselves some new ones in Baals Towers torch-lit corridors and chambers. The DLC comes with its own progression system and as you improve your Hellraid rank, youll gain access to new swords, axes, and hammers. Good news is that you can also wield these completely new weapons outside of the hellish realm, as long as you pay for them with coins awarded for making runs through the dungeon. Of course, you can enjoy a co-op mode for up to 4 players.

Over five years after the release, Dying Light is getting an exciting DLC thats bound to refresh your experience with the game. Get ready for an entirely new game mode based on our unreleased first-person dark fantasy slasher Hellraid. Thats right dark fantasy!

You might wonder how we tied the DLCs significantly different setting to Dying Lights post-apocalyptic reality. The answer to that question is a strange device found in the Towers basement after an odd power outage. It looks like an arcade machine but in fact its a portal between worlds. Use it and youll emerge in a grim fortress overrun by Hells minions.

Each run through the dungeon will reward you with coins that you can spend to proudly wield Hellraid weapons in Harran. The Chicken Ninja is back in town, which means we can get the annual Harran Egg Hunt rolling. As the name of the event suggests, the objective is to collect special Easter eggs the more, the better. You will find them among the usual loot in various containers, but as you explore the city, youll also notice little zombies dressed in white. Those might not exactly be the cute Easter Bunnies we all deserve, but theyre what weve got nevertheless. If you catch and kill one, you get an egg too. In case you wonder why the eggs look like decorated grenades its because thats what they are. They come in four different types and can be used in combat to poison the enemies, freeze them, set them on fire, or knock them out.

When the community reaches the global goal, everyone will receive three gold weapon dockets. Theres one more thing we want to share with you. The latest Dying Light update introduces a new difficulty level intended for those whod like to focus on the story and exploration without worrying too much about survival. Story Mode features a number of tweaks which make the game significantly easier: you're stronger and tougher, the Infected are less dangerous, nights are shorter, etc. Now everyone can enjoy their stay in Harran regardless of their skill level and experience with action games.

The undead are trying to ruin Christmas, but fear not, because Super-Crane is back to save the day! Make children in Harran happy by collecting as many presents as you can and delivering them to quartermasters. Youll find lost gifts in airdrops, Rais supply stashes, and quarantine zones, but some got stolen by mischievous Bolters. These scoundrels will make a run for it as soon as they see you (and damn, theyre fast!) but thats when Super-Cranes enhanced grappling hook comes in handy.

Tiny Goblin Zombies on the other hand chase you on sight. They might look cute in their little green jackets and striped pants, but youll quickly learn they are mean! Just like thieving Bolters, theyre more numerous in Old Town than the Slums, but instead of presents they drop Christmas Snacks that grant you various short-lasting buffs. You can consume those treats right away or you can use them to make Grandmas Eggnog that temporarily boosts your stamina, armor, and speed. To be able to do that, youll need to complete your personal bounty, as it rewards you with blueprints for Grandmas Eggnog, Snowball (a throwable that freezes enemies in place), and the Santas Helper outfit. If the community collects enough presents before the event ends at 19:00 CET on January 2, you will also receive a docket for the Candy Cane weapon blueprint.

Together with the Hypermode Weapon Event we released a new update to the game - patch 1.22.
We made a few improvements to the PC version of Dying Light:

• Borderless Window Option - you can now play Dying Light in borderless mode. You will find this option in Options -> Video -> Turn Off Full Screen -> Borderless Window
  
• We fixed crash on drop attack on Linux and Mac
  
• We improved the overall stability of the game
  

HyperMode is back with a twist!
The highly popular gameplay tweak returns, but this time were shaking things up by giving you baseball and cricket bats with that HyperMode oomph you enjoy. It means one swing is enough to send an enemy flying like a rag doll. Moreover, weve doubled the damage dealt by all bats for the duration of the event (Nov 26 19:00 CET Dec 3 19:00 CET).
Youll find plenty of random bats in airdrops, and completing your personal challenge will earn you a Gold Baseball Bat.

The real treat of the HyperMode Weapons event is the exclusive piece of gear weve designed as the community bounty reward. Behold the Spectral Baseball Bat! Its ghastly glow changes color from pink in the daylight to blue in the darkness, but the best thing about this formidable weapon is that it retains its HyperMode kick after the event ends!

All Hallows Eve is upon us, so go to bed in a safehouse and when you wake up, hurry out into the streets of Harran with your candy bag ready.

To set an eerie mood, weve conjured up stormy weather that drowns out the sounds of approaching horrors with heavy rain and thunder. The infected put their costumes on pumpkin heads, wizard hats, and skeleton masks and carry special Drunken Pumpkin potions that you can loot and drink. Remember, Volatiles drop the most powerful one.
The trick is, those potions are not necessarily a treat, as they can either enhance your abilities (e.g. grant you infinite stamina) or make your life harder (try to freerun with your controls reversed!). How do you know which one is which? You dont! You have to drink the potion to find out its effect, but hey, chugging a suspicious concoction never hurt anyone, right?

On top of all that you can earn an exclusive Halloween outfit and three King weapon upgrade dockets as rewards for completing challenges.

The event ends at 7 pm CET (10 am PST) on November 4th. Happy trick-or-treating, Survivors!

Dying Light stealth has just been redefined!

Equip your pistols with the silencer and don’t worry about noise anymore. Now your gunshots won’t attract the enemies, which creates completely new stealth opportunities - especially at night.

How to get it:

• Your character needs to be at least level 12;
  
• Talk to the Quartermaster to get the blueprint;
  
• Find required parts;
  
• Craft one of the two pistols with the silencer attached;

A very light knife made of jade. It fits the hand so well and weights so little that it allows the runner to reach their maximum speed. Simply string parkour moves together to get an incremental speed boost.

New Revolver – Last Wish

Bounty: Ace in the Hole

What makes the Last Wish special is her final shot mechanic. Land consecutive headshots to increase the firepower of your bullets. Score five headshots in a row for a massive 6th shot.

Continuing the year-long support for Dying Light in 2016, we have just expanded the Dying Light Dev Tools. Players now have the ability to use all-terrain buggies featured in Dying Light: The Following on custom maps, even if you only own the base game. With that new addition comes also the option to freely modify the driving system and use the buggies in PvP scenarios.

To coincide with the latest update, Techland and Razer announced the special ‘Buggy Madness’ contest. Anyone can compete by creating a buggy-based custom map using Dying Light Developers Tools (available for free on Steam) and submitting it at the official contest website.

The contest runs from May 19th to June 19th 2016 and aims to select the most creative, enjoyable, and high-quality maps.

You can enable co-op and PvP on your maps by using quest phase ‘pvp’, controlled with a script in datascriptschallengesCoopChallengesParams.scr. There is an example in the file under ‘auto_pvp’.

Fixes:

1. Fixed tall grass disappearing when using brushes.
2. Improved terrain texture blending.
3. Fixed forcing time and weather in the level attributes – parameters m_ForceDaytimeLook and m_ForceWeather

When we announced Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition earlier this month, we reveled the game would be enhanced with additional content and new features – one of them were Legendary Levels. Today we published a special highlight video explaining how the levels will work. Take a look!

Legendary Levels are one of the ways how we’re making our post-game content more meaty. With 250 additional levels, you’ll be able to keep on developing your character while unlocking new weapons, outfits, emblems, and skills.

Legendary Levels will be a part of Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition, which launches February 9, 2016. If you already have the base version of the game, you will get the new feature as part of the free improvement update that we will distribute at the same time.

Dear Dying Light fans,

We are happy to announce that the expansion pack Dying Light: The Following will launch worldwide on February 9th, 2016. Among many new features, the expansion is bringing drivable all-terrain buggies, a new storyline for protagonist Kyle Crane, and a new explorable region that is larger than all areas of the original game combined.

Also from February 9th, players will have the option to enjoy the definitive zombie experience thanks to Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition, which will include an enhanced version of the main game, the Dying Light: The Following expansion, the Be the Zombie mode, the Cuisine&Cargo challenge missions, the Ultimate Survivor Bundle, The Bozak Horde mode, and all content updates released to date.

To give players the widest choice possible, Dying Light: The Following will be available separately as downloadable content, as part of the Season Pass, and as part of the Enhanced Edition. All Dying Light players will be able to download the enhancements to the original game for free.
