Surprise! We have a big bug fix update for you all.
This is pretty substantial, so were going to put this on a beta branch for you all to check out before we push it out to the live version.

We've added a new Performance setting in Settings called Dynamic Asset Loading. It saves memory by loading certain data as needed, and unloading it when its not used for a while. Like most optimizations theres a trade-off - while the dynamic loading decreases memory usage significantly it also means the game has to load assets in the background - depending on your hardware this may be noticeable. The game needs a restart for any change to the asset loading to take effect.
A great big thank you to everyone who participated during our Early Access period. The Dont Starve community is one of the best to interact with, so full of passion and enthusiasm for all things in the Constant. We have thoroughly enjoyed the journey with you, dropping Wilson and his friends into this world of civilized pigs and dangerous jungles.
As we come out of Early Access, all of the features tested in the beta branch will of course go live for everybody, including player craftable doors, the new Ancient Hulk giant, Wheeler and Wagstaff. The beta branch will still be accessible for a while, but we wont be updating it anymore.
As a special thank you to all of the Dont Starve players and fans, Wagstaff has been made available to everyone who has the base game and is not exclusive to the Hamlet DLC.
Now that early access has finished, there are no plans for new features to Hamlet yet, but we will still be putting out updates of bug fixes as they are made. After you have mastered the mountain top plateau, if you are looking for further Dont Starve challenges, please check in with Dont Starve Together as there are some old faces being re-made as well some altogether new ones showing up.
Greetings Survivors! Were close to releasing Hamlet from Early Access. As we said in a recent roadmap post, we have been working on two new characters plus a new giant to battle with. Actually, we would like to have those tested a bit. So, once more, we invite you to the interior beta branch, this time to meet the newest guests of the Constant: Wagstaff and Wheeler. But with light comes shadow. An ancient and terrible metal hulk lies waiting to be discovered. A lonely sentinel still stuck in a long forgotten war. A big thank you to everyone who has tried out the beta branch so far. As always youve been tremendously helpful. There are still some issues with the interiors, particularly when used in worlds other than Hamlet, and we will be working to fix those up before we move everything to the main branch. Latest patch here with an invitation to beta test some new features. Weve been working on improving performance and have a few changes that should make things better. This should particularly help with severe lag in interiors. But some of the backend changes are larger than we are comfortable to just deploy. We have set up a beta branch that people can go to and help us test out the changes. An added benefit of some of the changes, is that the interior system has opened up to the other worlds, not just Hamlet worlds. So if you bring the Key to the City, you can build a pig city in the forest or even on a tropical island. Im sure theres some interactions with all this stuff we havent predicted yet, so having some more people playing with it will be helpful. Weve also put player craftable doors in the home decor tab. Once youve build a door in your house, you can use a Construction Permit on it to create an attached room. To access the beta branch:

The Character Update is now live! This update focuses on making our new Hamlet characters more interesting for you to play, particularly when playing outside of the Hamlet world.
Wilba has inherited one of her father's more colourful characteristics, namely, she now carries the same curse that inflicts all of her father's family with dreaded werepigism. Also, all of pigkind from Hamlet's town pigs to those of ROG will now recognize her as the king's daughter, and pay her tribute in the form of gifts.
We weren't very happy with how Warbucks was working out. While trying to find ways to make him work, we decided that he just wasn't as interesting as we would like, and so we've made the decision to start from scratch. You can still continue your Warbucks saves as his files will not be removed from the game, but he will no longer be in the official lineup of starting characters.
Instead, we would like to introduce to you our new character, Wormwood! Who knows where this creature of nature came from, but he'll likely grow on you.

We start the new year with an update that brings several nice and fun features from Don't Starve Together to regular Don't Starve. These additions were added to the base game and all DLCs.

The Aporkalypse is here. The pre modern pigs saw it coming, did the math and put the date on a calendar. Oh look, its this year. What can be done!
Theres also a couple of other fun stuff added to the world. Pigs now have a place they can do some money exchange, and a new magic recipe that captures the energies of the Pugalisk has been discovered.
The new content will be best experienced with a new world as there are some world gen changes for them. So we recommend starting a fresh world to experience them.
Whats Next
In a recent update we noted that we wanted to continue the Early Access until we felt the bugs and performance were improved. There have been several improvements to the performance, but there are still some areas we are investigating to help that. We continue to work through the bug reports both on the forums and submitted through the game.
We have also decided there are a few more updates of things wed like to put out before were done. So Early Access will be continuing until about April of 2019. The next is an improvement in the Quality of Life for DS players. We will focus on bringing a bunch of the improvements that have gone into DST over to single player. Watch for the QOL update on Dec 20th.

Were still busy here squashing bugs (Hamlet has a lot of insects afterall) and summoning up the Aporkalypse. We still have some balance changes and a bit more new content we want to get together before we feel the game is ready to leave Early Access. To that end, we feel that Dec 6th will be too soon for us to have had a good chance to tune the performance and make sure everything is in and ready for launch. The Aporkalypse will still be arriving on Dec. 6th, but we have some things we want to get done before were ready to leave Early Access. If you are waiting for launch to play to have the most stable experience, we thank you for your patience and ask for a little bit more. We will make another announcement when we have a more final launch date.

While Don't Starve Together was still just a twinkle in Wilson's eye, our friends at Capy have been quietly plugging away at Shipwrecked with us for quite some time now. We’re all excited for you to come aboard; but first we wanted give you some quick details. We've decided to release Shipwrecked in Early-Access because similar to the Reign of Giants expansion before it; Shipwrecked is a substantial amount of content. In fact, much larger. With new characters, biomes, items, creatures,recipes and water exploration; just about everything in Don't Starve Shipwrecked is new. However, we still have a little further to go; but first, we want to get your feedback about the game. Like Don't Starve, Reign of Giants and Don't Starve Together, it's important for us to really get a feel for what you think so we can adjust and adapt to your feedback. You should have a good, solid game in it’s current state; a great experience on it’s own. Not everything is quite sea-worthy yet. As mentioned, the game is fully playable and nearly complete, but the new playable characters are still to come, as well as the "boss encounters” and some other cool things we have planned. Since we need to get a better sense of balance and feedback, we want to get everything in a good place before we get those in for official launch. As many of you know, originally Don't Starve: Shipwrecked was originally being designed a standalone DLC completely separate from Don't Starve and players would not be able to move between Shipwrecked and the original game. Due to community response we have since changed course and we are now steering the ship toward integrating the experience so that you may move between worlds! This is still in the works and will not be immediately available and will likely be in a version closer to launch. We are certainly going to want to test this before the final launch version, so expect integration to come a few updates before final version sets sail. This is going to take a bit of time though, so we will need to tread water for a little while as we get that in order, but we'll let you know the progress on this before we pull up anchor. We're not going to give an official date for the final launch of the game at this time. Frankly we tend to add in more new cool stuff that we didn't consider before your feedback, and since our priority is always having the best launch-ready game possible; we often choose to add more stuff rather than push things out just to hit a deadline. We are aiming for Spring 2016; but, that's mostly so we have something to aim for. In the end it's really just going to be when it's ready. We're going to try; but we care about delivering what we promised much more than hitting a date. We don’t consider a game ready when it’s “done”; we consider it “done” when it’s ready. If you don't enjoy sailing into the uncharted territory of early-access, you might want to consider waiting until we launch the game fully before you dive in. No. However, the final release of the game will be available for the standalone client. Can I play Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked at the same time? Yes, but not during early access.
