Achievement Update

I've made it so that you only need to get one badge (in-game) to get the steam Badge Achievement so hopefully it's easier to complete all achievements after one playthrough :D
- Version number now visible on the start screen
- Made font more readable in most of the heavy-text menus
Notes:
- May disable Mac and Linux builds in the future due to lack of test devices / support

I still always try to check the forums for anyone encountering issues. I appreciate people trying out the game regardless of its quirks ^^

[Cross Promotion] New Game Pixel Petkeeper Coming Soon

My new game Pixel Petkeeper will be available for a little while for playtest, if it seems interesting to you maybe try it out :) It's an autobattle/light RPG pet-collecting game of sorts. A survey is available for the end of the playtest and I hope to get some useful information to help me find out some issues I might have missed in the game.

I hope to do some light updates on Pixel Shopkeeper once I've cleared out major issues and gotten at a good spot with the new game. In any case, thank you for your interest and participation :)

Update 1.32.3

Fullscreen toggle on Start now on Main branch
- Colored chests - red has 100% chance for ingredients & blue has 100% chance of equipment
- Some tutorial and text fixes/additional info
- Cheaper pricing changes on ingredients in restaurant
- Collector achievement if you have at least 60 unique items at one time after obtaining a new one
- New "Ingredients" tab for inventory
- Preliminary "Sort by Price" option
- Autostock now always stocks highest priced items
- Other minor tweaks and fixes


About Beta Updates
Note that playing on Beta branch accesses new features but is potentially less stable than main

(Beta) Update 1.31.1 - Profitability Gradient


The x86_64 branch has a new feature, the profitability gradient, once requested in the forums. To activate it, click the gear on the bottom right, go to options and then check the "Guides On/Off". If it's on, a new "Refresh Guides" button will show up on the lower left, so that you can update the guides if you make changes to your shop



A yellowish gradient should show up on your shop if your discount is pretty high (maybe around 150% of its original price) - if it's green it means it's REALLY high, like over 250% of its base price.


To turn it off, swtich the Guides Off. It will also by default go away during Sell Phase. The feature will be on the beta branch for a few days for testing and will be rolled out to main afterwards. Feel free to try it out, and report any issues you might encounter. Save files shouldn't be affected, but you can make a copy of your SaveData in case.

Missed Mini-things

Some stuff that got added that weren't announced (info for older players - for newer players, it won't be very interesting since it was part of the game already, lol)

A few new hairstyles (available from the start) and some new craftable items that should be available after the Credits/Chapter 3.

Other Issues

Incidentally, I've seen a few people playing the game and the text is hard to read/resolution is blurry. In the same options tab, try setting a non-fullscreen resolution and set it back to fullscreen. That should fix the blurriness.

If you also get the "Error Initializing" bug at start up, or any other crash issues let me know and I may need an output log and/or your SaveData folder (or Save File & folder number) to fix the issue quickly. Thanks so much!

Patch 1.30.7: Crashing | About Early Previews

If anyone is still experiencing a crash at any point in gameplay, try running the game on the Beta branch by going to the Beta tab in your Steam library and choosing x86_64

If you are still crashing, please send your Save File (with the folder #) or your zipped SaveData folder and your ouput_log.txt (found in Your Steam directorysteamappscommonPixel ShopkeeperPixelShopkeeper_Data) to info@pixelprototype.com with a note on when/how you are getting the crash. I'll look into it ASAP!

Update 6/22 4:23: If you were experiencing a crash previously, a fix should be in the 1.30.8 update

New Content Previews

The Beta branch x86_64 usually gets newer content while being tested before it goes to the main branch. Anyone is free to try it out and it should not affect Save files, but there is a risk of encountering minor game issues. You can make a copy of your SaveData folder before switching to be safe.

Update 1.30.1 - Now on Beta Branch

Current update is now on the Beta branch and will be rolled out to public in a few weeks after some testing.

To check it out, go to the BETAS tab in your Steam program and switch to branch x86_64. Your save files should not be affected going back and forth, but if you can also make a copy of your save folder to be safe


The main change is a new resolution system to fix some issues with users clicks not being accurate, and some bug fixes. One tweak was the point system for contests, which has been lowered.

The next major update will be coming in a couple of weeks and will feature some newer content.

- Doors should no longer reset

- Removed recipes you can buy from the merchant from the dungeons - higher chance now of getting locked recipes
- People reallllyyy hate dust - I made it even slooower, let me know if it STILL bugs you xD

Patch 1.20.7

Main Addition:
- Allows you to keep leveling up your Str & Def stats (25% chance for each stat, and using consumables still applies for bonus exp) up to your character level for a cost even when you've hit max level; HP will stay the same though - this may be changed later on but as of now people are experiencing difficulty with the story arc and this is the least code-intrusive way of alleviating that at the moment
Other:
- Fixed a possible expansion crash bug
- Pirate costume get at over 50 affinity
- Manager text is more consolidated (repeating items are listed w/ their values)
- Shows if max upgraded from storage
- Esc to close windows in shop mode

Minor text cut-off fix
- Badge panel minor fix
- The dirty tables -- some ppl still had issues, I put in a fix but if you still notice something let me know!
- Those who can't use Pirate managers should be able to now
- Warning before entering a dungeon before a payment deadline
- Added a Game Over popup explanation from shop mode (sorry for another popup! >.<)
- A couple of polish fixes I might have missed

Update Version 1.20.3

Patches

- Fixed Park bug
- Changed a couple of manager skills
- Overprice tolerance in Chill: max 30; Challenge: max 20
- Some merchant store price adjustments (end game items)
- New potions nerfed by a little bit (end game)
- Dust window bug

Updates

- Long and Longer dungeon - you might want to bring a ninja for his Escape skill!
- Endless bag, where if you fill up the entire center, everything warps to your inventory. Ideal for use with the Long dungeons

Next up:

- Focus on the shop features (inc quality of life fixes)
- Fixing display issues on all platforms

July 28 Update

Patch for Version 1.12.12

Just a small ninja patch for some progression bugs people are facing!

- Training freeze bug at higher levels should be fixed
- Slower scrolling image at startup
- Your Save File shows your current Mode
- Updated an issue with harvest yield - you might be getting more now

Features
- Connected Hidden Achievements
- Initial "Tutorials Off" mode - find it in Settings (use at your own risk for now)

Also looking into (aside from already known issues & Updates):
- Fighter buff skill
- Cap of the managed store (though I think this is working as intended until I get some user data Save Files)
- Resolution issues
- Mac & Linux builds (waiting for some borrowed testing equip, so it's taking a bit, sorry)

I might be missing something but I'll have a bigger announcement and list for the next major update. Thanks for everyone's support with the game! One more day of the sale :)

Weekend Update - Part 1


First, loan information is now on the menu screen


For now, be able to set ALL items by setting one item. I will make this even more user-friendly later on, I also made the increase/decrease less sensitive


Some people want huuuuuuge shops? Is this huge enough for now? D:

Feedback is appreciated! If there's something you don't like let me know and please keep posting bugs on the forums so I can fix them when I can.

- Loading issue for some people fixed, but please let me know if its still not working
- Bug-wise, I'm still figuring out Linux/Mac issues so bear with me on that as there are still other fixes that need to go in.

Mac/Linux Issues

There seem to be some issues with Mac input & Linux graphics sorting input at the moment so I might disable those builds if I can't get a fix in for the next update. In the meantime, that and some issues that were pointed out to me will be a priority. Sorry for the trouble!
