Patch Notes 1.0.2.4



After some intense testing and some wonderful collaboration with community members we have a new bug fix patch release. There are a few new things snuck in, but mostly we targeted multiplayer stability and fixes. There are a couple of major changes and fixes that took place. Some of the major changes include a fix for jumpy behavior at low frame rates, client side world chunk caching, and localized player position updates. The full patch notes are included below.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to all of you who have supported our launch! Of course, launching the game is only the first step. There is still a lot to do! Spoxel Released!



Spoxel has been released!
What a long strange trip it has been! After 7 years, two rewrites, and more hours and bug fixes than I would like to count Spoxel is now release on Steam. I made Spoxel in part because games like Terraria didn't cut it for me. I wanted a game where I could design spells or make custom gear and that didn't exist at the time. In that time I've gotten married, changed jobs, moved cities, and had two amazing kids. As I've grown so too has Spoxel. I don't think I can point to a single part of it that hasn't been rewritten or revamped since I started this project. Just because we have released doesn't mean that the journey is over! We still have a lot of free content patches in the pipe!

The new spell crafting changes are here! There was a bit of delay due to some personal issues, but we are quickly getting back on track. There are lots of major changes to this build so we expect some breakage. Most of the spell system has been changed but there are still some effects not reimplemented yet. The Location rune has been modified to "persistent aoe effects" which will apply any children effects every tick for so many seconds. You can define the area in the same way as instant aoe.
The projectile rune has been reconfigured so you can now set the start location as well as it's travel direction
The strike rune has been removed since it's functionality has been moved into instant aoe and persistent aoe
The starfall rune has been removed since it's functionality can be replicated with a normal projectile rune

Patch Notes 0.6.8.4 - Questing Begins



This update has taken a little longer to get out since I changed the graphics back end to lwjgl3. There are still some bugs and edge cases we are working through so be sure to me know on discord if you run into any problems. The questing tab has been added to this build and the first few quests have been added to the game. There is a lot of work to be done in this area but, as always, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

If you have some time and can take a quick two quest survey... please be sure to go here and fill it out. I'm looking into changes to how spells are built as well as future content development.

It is finally here! After the poll we ran on discord it became very obvious on what the most requested feature for Spoxel was... the map! I've also made some pretty drastic changes in the back end of Spoxel to improve performance. As always, be sure to hop on Discord if you run into any issues.

You read that right! Perhaps one of the most requested features I've had is Steam multiplayer support and it has bow been added! This is beta, so I expect plenty of bugs, but it is now ready for testing.

Spoxel Updates

Advanced Crafting Update

Advanced crafting has been revamped to have allow for way more customization. Now you can completely control the look of the weapons and armor you create. Join us on our discord for more info!

• Changed the sound of mining platforms and tables to the wood hit
• Bug: Quickslot spells now refresh their hotkeys correctly
