The nominations for the Steam awards have just started, and we would like to ask you to vote for V: Rings of Saturn in the Sit back and Relax category.
V: Rings of Saturn captures the essence of the "Sit Back and Relax" category effortlessly. With its soothing soundtrack and captivating gameplay, it transports players to the tranquil beauty of Saturn's rings.
It's a game that invites you to sit back, take a deep breath, and immerse yourself in a world where worries fade away (well, unless you meet pirates...).
Thank you for your unwavering support!
In our most recent vote, we received a remarkable total of 1800 votes, marking a significant increase of over 600% compared to the previous vote. This surge in participation is primarily attributed to the inclusion of the Steam community, and we are truly grateful for the enthusiastic response from all our players.
What's particularly fascinating is that despite this substantial increase in the number of votes and the expansion to the Steam platform, the choices made by you, the players, remain remarkably consistent. Your collective voice has spoken, and it's clear that certain aspects of the game resonate strongly with the entire community.
Based on the results, we've organized the development priorities into three groups:
This month vote is here to figure out the development priorities as we move towards 2.0. Things you don't vote for will still be done, just a bit later. Vote for things you want to see sooner! Remember, you can vote for more than one thing. Or all the things. Or none of the things. Let us know all the areas where you think we need to push forward!
The original soundtrack of V: Rings of Saturn has been expanded with two brand new tracks! These tracks, previously featured in the Cinematic and Gameplay trailers, are now part of the our Original Soundtrack DLC. This incredible music has been composed by Evader. This is a free update for everyone who owns the soundtrack, and comes with both .mp3 and .flac versions of the files. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127590/V_Rings_of_Saturn__Original_Soundtrack/
At the heart of our development philosophy lies the strong belief that the best games are created in collaboration with the community that plays them. As such, we are incredibly grateful for the dedicated and passionate community that has formed around V. To ensure that the changes and updates to the game align with your expectations, we have been conducting player votes on our Discord server. Your votes have been invaluable in shaping the future of our asteroid mining simulator, and we are excited to present the top priorities that came up as a result of the first post-1.0 vote:
Today marks a monumental moment for our cosmic adventure as we proudly release version 1.0 of V: Rings of Saturn. It has been an extraordinary journey, with the game flourishing during its Early Access phase and growing beyond our wildest expectations. The amount of content contained has expanded by over 300% of what I initially planned, a testament to the dedication of our team and the invaluable feedback from our passionate players.
During the Early Access phase alone, we squashed 1728 bugs, polished 1131 aspects of the game, and introduced 942 new features. With 3227 experimental releases and 353 stable releases, we've strived to ensure constant progress and improvements. On average, we've launched a new stable version every four days.
You can now enjoy your on-rings journey with high-quality, loseless audio that's out of this world! Don't let static or distortion ruin your space vibes, immerse yourself in the game's epic soundtrack like never before. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127590/V_Rings_of_Saturn__Original_Soundtrack/ Already have our soundtrack? Your files will upgrade automatically, for free! So plug in those headphones, buckle up, and prepare for dive - it's time to rock out to some otherworldly tunes.
Starting today, V: Rings of Saturn is entering the feature freeze stage of the development process. What does that mean for you? In the past year, you experienced a steady torrent of releases, all of them including new, exciting features, most often ones that were not really planned. While this kind of development process is really enjoyable both for me, getting excited to add the next shiny thing, and you, getting to play with new toys, it did push away the planned 1.0 release date by months. Feature freeze is a protocol designed to bring order to that process. It means that new features will not be considered for the 1.0 release anymore. In feature freeze, I focus solely on adding things that are already planned and fixing any bugs that come out. 1.0 is an important milestone in any software development, but it doesnt mark the end of progress. Its only meant to signify a version that we feel is complete enough for the general audience - and we feel we are really close to that point. Here is what is going to happen next:
Get ready for a blast from the past with the new update featuring a classic asteroids aesthetic coming out soon to V: Rings of Saturn.

V: Rings of Saturn doesn't use a classic roadmap, where the developer outlines the list of things they think they'll be doing next. We just found that these don't work, as new ideas come in daily and the actual work drifts further and further away from the initial post. This is why we opted to expose our internal working documents - the Kanban boards - so you can see in real-time what we work on.

Let me tell all yall, this asteroid mining gig is no rose garden. You got your giant ice rocks wanting to crush you, pirates that want your ore and an old rust bucket that someone called a nuclear thermal rocket, held together with wishes and scotch tape. But what Im supposed to do? These ores aint gonna mine themselves.
Do you play on a big monitor with plenty of resolution? Do you have a lot of video RAM to spare? Prepare for our new free DLC: 4K texture pack!
This is a very special update. In a time of a global crisis, there are causes that need your contributions more than we do. Today Im lifting all the restrictions of the demo version, making it essentially a full game. Instead of buying V, spend your money on something important and help someone in need. You can get the full version of V when we have peace again. [previewyoutube=lp4G_w_cXPk;full][/previewyoutube]

Another year of Early Access just passed. Let us look back on what happened with V: Rings of Saturn in 2021.
Labor of Love award is for games that are out for a while, but devs still continue to nurture and support their creation. V: Rings of Saturn entered Early Access over two years ago. Since then we squashed 1859 bugs, added 714 new features (many of which were suggested by our players on our discord.gg/dv), released 2164 bleeding edge and 281 new stable versions. We came a long way and we still aim to improve at a steady pace. Nominate us!

Some of you playing V: Rings of Saturn on AMD Radeon graphics cards have reported a persistent performance issue. Executing some actions in-game (such as entering the Dealer menu) will cause significant performance degradation. I have investigated this issue for the past week, and here are my findings. The root cause is a video memory leak in some OpenGL drivers for AMD Radeon cards, causing the VRAM usage to spike from the usual 1.2GB to over 4GB. Using up all of the VRAM causes excessive texture streaming and ultimately huge performance drops - with some reported cases of going from steady 60 FPS to single digits. I am confident that the bug is in AMD Radeon drivers themselves. During tests, we see this problem emerge on FX570 with driver versions 20.11.2 on Windows 10, but not on the same hardware running the Linux version of the drivers. If you are affected by this bug, please consider upgrading your drivers - we have numerous reports this fixes all performance issues. I have tried multiple workarounds, but I can only do so much to mitigate a faulty driver. If you are thinking about buying V and are unsure if you would be affected by this problem - please try the demo. The demo is indistinguishable from the full game, and your saves will carry over, so it is a perfect way of checking if the games performance is satisfactory. https://store.steampowered.com/app/949730/V_Rings_of_Saturn/

This is a bugfix patch, fixing up couple of bugs you discovered in the latest release. Bugs fixed:
Today I present you a combined content and bugfix patch. I feel that it's important for Early Access title to address all the known bugs as fast as possible, but I think it's equally important to add some new content, so players who didn't hit the bugs will get something out of it.
Pierson's Puppeteers, Riker Maneuver or Epstein Drive (who didn't kill himself) - science fiction is full of discoveries named after someone who made it. And now you can have your own! In both of our internal testings and player reports performance improved from 200% to over 300%.
This release combines a critical bugfixes with extra features and upgrades. Most important for most players - I found and fixes an encounter that caused consistent crashes when diving in the rings. Fixing that will hopefully resolve all the recently reported in-flight crashes. But there is more! We have new upgrade slot and new upgrades - 6 to be exact. Those are auxiliary power options, for these ships that just need extra juce to power their systems. We also have some extra tuning options requested by our community, Full changelog:

This is a polishing / bugfix release, patching up all the problems discovered since last content updates. The highlight of this release are stability upgrades - I found a couple of ways you could crash the game and patched, hopefully, all of them. I managed to slip in a new upgrade: the guiding recon drone, which allows you to input targets manually to your autonomous drone systems. Detailed changelog:
This is an enhancement release, expanding game mechanics, ships and story interactions. We had a community vote over our discord.gg/dv where we asked you about the direction of development - and you decided I should split my time equally between adding game elements and expanding the story. This is the first release that does so. By popular demand, we took a close look at pirates and added ways you can interact with them peacefully. There are now options for intimidation and bribery.
This is a enhancement release, adding new upgrades. Changelog:

To help with that, we are hosting a special Stay-At-The-Cockpit sale. A unique opportunity to get V for half of the price.
This is a polishing release, expanding tooltips and explanations in the game. Changelog:
Fixing bugs is important, but adding features is where the fun is. This release adds a bunch of new visuals and hardware you can fit on your ships. The Eagle Prospector radiators got a visual update. Eagle uses moving belt radiators - a track of high-specific-heat material that physically moves in and out of the reactor chamber to physically remove the heat. This design can remove much more heat than normal radiator, and the graphics of the Prospector now reflects that. But why does it need to remove more heat? Eagle Prospector boasts a Yama SSR-16 40GW molten-uranium-core reactor to power it's twin main thrusters - and now you will be able to mount such molten-core reactors to all ships. They utilize rapidly spinning drums to keep the molten uranium at bay and a direct exchange of heat from fuel to reactive mass - a feat that keeps them both compact and powerful. But what use is all this extra heat? You can now mount a plasma-thrower on your ship. It will take up to 18GW of super-heated plasma directly form your reactor and blast if forward to melt any asteroids directly in front of your ship. EINAT "Kzinti Lesson" Mk2 plasma thrower is definitely Not A (hastily retro-fitted) Thruster. Not feeling like using plasma torches? Check out our new railgun. Compact and simple design is capable of both rapid fire and high muzzle velocities - but wears out faster than coilguns, and needs much more energy to deliver same hit. Good choice for a miner on the budget. We are also thrilled to announce yet another community-supplied translation: Radek Polek was kind enough to translate entire game to Czech! Detailed changelog:
One of the paradigms we have for V's development is "fix bugs first". We try to fix every bug we know of before adding new features. This should ensure that you get a polished and bug-free game at all times, even in Early Access stage. There are, of course, bugs that slip past us - either we don't find them soon enough, or the fixes we apply are not so effective as we thought. This why you get frequent bug-fixing releases, like this one. This release addresses the issues we found over the weekend, but still manages to sneak in one autopilot improvement. We had reports that some players find the autopilot behaviour imperfect. When coasting through the rings and using the mouse to lock on rocks and ore, autopilot would attempt to put you to relative stop after each click. Many players found that disruptive, so we changed this behaviour. Clicking on an item will now preserve the relative velocity that you had. Full changelog for this release:
In the beginning, space was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of quantum fluctuations. And then came the inflation, and the inflation was superluminal. In last few days we worked to improve the performance of V: Rings of Saturn. Some of you reported that the game worked too slow for you and we heard your concerns. We ported the game to recently version of the game engine - Godot 3.2 - which yields significant performance and stability boost. We have reports of game running more than 400% faster on some machines. [previewyoutube=ZknOIS7Oo0U;full][/previewyoutube] There were a lot of changes required in order to make the game working with new version of the engine, but most of them were hidden from general public. Our testers seen myriad of quirks we had to iron out before release. Even so, we managed to sneak in some improvements. Changelog:
This is a re-balancing release. It changes the way kinetic damage is dealt to the ship, making the mass-drivers a valid option for ship-to-ship combat. Breached reactor core will now have lower critical temperature, and this in turn makes it a lot easier to cause ship explosion with kinetic damage. The upgrade and tuning screens got an face-lift. They are more readable, and the charts you see as part of simulation will now display exact values. You also get a warning now if your ship is not able to handle an upgrade. This release also contains multiple stability bugfixes, physics performance improvements and many miscellaneous features. Full changelog:
A new year dawns, and with it a new release. Our fist responsibility when making the game - even in early access - is to fix all the bugs and polish up everything first, before implementing new features, so you players get a complete, polished experience. This release attempts to do just that, patching up all the bugs we know about and polishing existing aspects of the game. The pirate AI got a fine-tune, making them bit less hostile and much easier to scare away. There are now additional accessibility features, and I tried to fix all the bugs I was aware of. There are also new performance improvements and optimizations. Changelog:
This is an AI enhancement release, introducing new ways the engine of the game handles things. You'll see the AI and pilots being smarter, multiple bugs fixed and some new features added. Changelog:
December marks the beginning of a new month with a new focus; but it also marks the last phases of development before we reach version 1.0, closing up all loose threads, completing all the game mechanics and getting something that can be called complete. We still have a way to go, and I doubt we will be able to wrap it up in 2019, but Im confident we are just a few months away. We leave November with new events, such as the Phage-class in-ring refueling station, with new crew system and crew capabilities. Our instruments were refined, Enceladus itself got an overhaul In total we added 85 new features and polished up 77 details. And bugs, so many bugs. Over 109 bugs have been reported and fixed. Our diligent community has helped out, submitting logs and savegames that exhibit unusual behavior as a starting point for tracking them down.

Skilled in navigating the space, orbital mechanics and rings, an astrogator will keep a log of places of interests you discover, enable you to plot out-of-the-plane courses to get there quickly, and his keen understanding of how things move in space will enable him to highlight unusual contacts on your LIDAR. [previewyoutube=Ru_Q3ZCf2CA;full][/previewyoutube] Changelog:
This is a hotfix release fixing all the bugs that came out with 0.137.1. It fixes over 40 stability issues discovered with our players and testers since.
V: Rings of Saturn has come a long way since its release in Early Access back in August. We got an overwhelming response from our fanbase, which drove us to release a total of 173 new versions of the game over these 65 days. Weve averaged almost 3 releases per day - each and every one of them fixing some bugs, improving some aspect of the game and adding new features.
Many of the changes are the result of our community participating in the development of the game. We set up a feature voting system at discord.gg/dv - a way for players to suggest new features, discuss and vote on them. I did my best to add as many of them to the game as I could. Some of these were small improvements, like upgrade suggestions and a new dialog-based tutorial. Some were huge, game-altering changes.
Our first big player-contributed feature was the addition of the dialog system. A way to directly communicate with other ships was not an intended feature, but it was a very popular request. The comms system allows you now to listen and respond to other ships you encounter in the rings. This gave us the opportunity to flesh out the story and present players with additional, unique quest opportunities.
The mineral market got a complete overhaul. There are now realistic, long-term price fluctuations. With the addition of geologist predictions, playing the market is a valid way to get (or lose!) funds for your company.
Our latest large addition is the ability to hire a crew. This fleshes out your company and also gives you additional options on how to run your company. You can hire pilots that will assist you with flying, mechanics that will keep your ship going and geologists that will help you make money from your enterprise.
Not all of the changes are huge. Some were just ideas for new upgrades, or ways to tune your ship. We now have a total of 62 upgrades, ranging from additional mining lasers, new reaction control systems, and even drones you can fit on your ship. There were also many small visual polishes - from the way the asteroids fracture under seismic stress, to how camera loses focus if you make sudden zoom, to the way a nuclear exhaust plume interacts with and melts the asteroids. We also got Korean and Norwegian translations of the game.
We never abandoned our dedication to good, hard science-fiction. With the help of our science-savvy fans, we were able to find and iron out everything that was not up to our standard. Whether it was the plume shape of a thruster not looking realistic enough, or one of the engines breaking conservation of energy, we found all of that and polished it to stand up to the hardest science-fiction standard. And we did get an award to prove that.
With the help of our beta-testers and players, we found and squashed literally hundreds of bugs and made dozens of performance optimizations. There are new options for the game allowing you to play on systems that I never expected. The recent addition of fully automated soak tests allowed me to run the game automatically for hours, pinpointing many stability problems that emerge seldom enough to not be apparent in usual testing sessions. As a result, the game is now faster and more stable than ever.
Our usual release notes contain a detailed changelog, and this one will be no different. If you just wanted to know what changed since 0.132.3, here is the detailed list of changes:
This is performance release. I have rewritten the resource model of the game to handle multi-threaded rendering, which tremendously increases performance on multi-core system. [previewyoutube=K8sCSMoAGEU;full][/previewyoutube] Changelog:
This is a content patch, bringing new thrusters to equip, new drone system and couple of bugfixes. Changelog:
This is a content patch release: introducing new ship, AI improvements and additional tuning modes. The big edition is soon-to-be-playable Mitsubishi-Airbus Eagle Prospector: [previewyoutube=OcGvPtwJhxQ;full][/previewyoutube] With twin MPD torches, powerful asteroid grinder and a huge cargo hold, this dedicated mining ship is able to carry much more output that any retro-fitted K37. Changelog:
This release introduces new main drives that you can fit into your ship, together with adequate power upgrades for your reactor. I took the opportunity to take a good look on all the rocket science in the game and fixed some values that were not realistic enough. Finally, the conservation of energy constrain is now in effect in whole game, so it can no-longer inadvertently break that. That required some ship redesign to give them enough power and cooling capacity to handle the new environment. [previewyoutube=FfAA1cmYdq8;full]https://youtu.be/FfAA1cmYdq8[/previewyoutube] Changelog:
This is a content expansion release. It adds whole new type of upgrades - the Mineral Processing Units, which are able to break-up your cargo when in-ring, store them efficiently and reclaim remass for deeper dives. The effects of explosions and asteroid fragmentation got complete overhaul. You will see much more dust from seismic impacts, and high-energy kinetic strike don't look like balls of fire anymore. As a welcome side-effect, performance increase was reported on many machines. Changelog:
This is a polishing release, improving some aspects of the game and fixing a bunch of bugs. Changes:
This release adds new category of upgrades - the disposable nanodrone systems. You can outfit your system with fabricator of laser-powered swarms of palm sized devices that will autonomously perform various tasks. Disposable nanodrone is a palm-sized disposable device consisting of exchangeable tool-head and ablative laser propulsion system, powered remotely by ship-mounted laser. Drones are mass-produced and their propulsion system is destroyed during burns - they were never meant to come back to the ship. They achieve their tasks by virtue of launching in large, inexpensive swarms. [previewyoutube=pJkDixADlxc;full][/previewyoutube] The on-board drone fabricator unit mounts correct tool-heads, launches drones, tracks and powers them remotely with infrared laser array. Average lifetime of a launched drone never exceeds dozens of seconds. Changelog:

This is a polishing release. Changes:
This is a polishing release, fixing up some small, annoying bugs. Changelog:
This release brings two important changes. Most significantly, it replaces the engine which runs the game to a custom version with important upgrades to stability. It should get rid of crashes to desktop. While compiling a own version of the engine was quite straightforward, the challenge came from making version for all the platforms game is released on. I aim to have first-class support for both Linux and MacOS users, and that meant I needed same, native code working for everyone. Second important change is the expansion of comms system. Now you can have full RPG-sque dialog trees. You will find some of the dialogs already in this version, and more will follow in future patches. Changelog:
September changes were all about on-boarding new players. I released 6 new versions (and numerous patched) that added new comms/dialog system, expanded tutorials and captain's logs to aid new players. We also featured a combat review, new camera modes and other quality-of-life improvements.
Since new players got so much attention in September, it's only fair to focus October on our long-time fans.
This release aims to improve combat experience. It improves Smart Camera, and combat AI, introduces a new option to disable the smart camera, tweaks in the AI (both for combat and conversations) and extends the degrees of freedom for your camera movement. This should allow better tactical overview in combat, make it easier to spot enemies and either combat and avoid them. Changelog:
This is a bugfix release. Bugs fixed:
This is an enhancement release, adding a preview of basic comms system to the game. Ships will now send messages to you, giving you better idea on what they are about. You will not be able to respond yet, but full dialog system should come up this month. Changelog:
This is a patch release, fixing up some bugs and polishing multiple aspects of the game. Changes:
This is an enhancement release. Changes:
This is an enchantment release, bringing Logs to the game. Now you can see a history of all of your dives, travels, trading and upgrades. A essential tool to catch-up with the game after a pause - but also a good measure of your progress.
Changelog:
Making games is not hard, but its complex. You hardly ever find one big, challenging problem in the development - but you are flooded with multitude of interconnected easy ones. Lets put this into perspective with numbers: since I begun working on V: Rings of Saturn I added 187 features, fixed 226 bugs and polished up 153 issues.
Since the beginning of Early Access we had 11 public releases, both adding content and patching bugs - and a dozen more for the opt-in beta branch. Thats a new patch every second day on the average.
Where will we go from here? My internal roadmap is similarly detailed - I have 217 issues pending right now, and while they are an excellent help for me, they are far too detailed to show you as general direction game is taking. Thats why I written this roadmap summary of September.
This is a bugfix release. Bugs fixed:
This is a bugfix release. One of worst bugs to find and fix is one that happens only occasionally. A report like "Game crashes every few hours" is really hard to replicate, locate and fix. I came up with an idea to rig our own in-game AI to player ship, allowing us to run the game semi-autonomously for extended periods. This allowed us to find and eliminate all (hopefully) the remaining causes of crashes.
This is a hotfix release. It contains small, but important fixes:
This is a bugfix and polish release, focused on improving stability and gameplay experience. Changes:
This is another bugfix and polishing release. Changelog:
Following the "fix bug first" paradigm I'm releasing yet another bugfix release. Bugs fixed:
This release combines tuning of the AI with bugfixes. Changes:
This is a storytelling enchantment release. A storyteller module of V is the part that keeps the story going - the pirate attacks, the anomalies in the game, bounty hunters patrolling. It was a bit harsh on a new players, and it's tuned now to be more relaxed. Changes:
Some players argued that V is brutal and hard on the start. This update aims to help with that. It adds an insurance to cover your initial losses when you learn the ropes of the game, and it completely overhauls how the autopilot works. None of the underlying physics and simulation changed - it's just that some of the on-board system are smarter now. Changes:
You might have noticed that the game comes in three flavors, selectable from your Steam client. Here is what they are all about:
With the release of Early Access you played more game-hours of the game in a single day than our entire betatesting team is able to do in a month. You did find some bugs and some crashes, and this is a first release addressing that. It's really challenging to find a bug when all I have to work with is "game crashes" - I'm flying blind. I did take a long careful look at the codebase and managed to find some potential issues. Since I had no reliable way to check it, I cannot be sure it helped your case - but I certainly hope they did. Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you experience any more bugs. I'l do my best to patch them all up shortly. Changes:

This is a polishing release. Changelog:
This release adds credits roll and fixes bugs. Changelog:

This is a bugfix release. A memory leak is a insidious type of error. You won't notice anything at start, but longer you play the more memory game will take. It will eventually crash, but for V it took between two to six hours, dependent on player's hardware. Tracing it was quite an adventure, in the end i managed to patch it up.
This is rebalance release. Changes:
This is a feature release. Changes:
This is a community release. Changes:
This is a bugfix release. Bugs fixed:
This is a bugfix release. Bugs fixed:
This is a re-balance release. One of our awesome players carefully checked all the parameters of our mass drivers and found that their projectiles are much too slow. This was a bug easy to fix, but it required adding additional visual effects and re-balancing the game. Today I present you mass drivers which do as much impact as they should in first place. Changelog:

With amazing support from our backers during the Early Crowd campaign I am able to devote more time to the project and prepare a second content release today. Changelog:
Hardcore sci-fi fans might have noticed that propellant consumption of the K37 Nuclear Thermal Rocket was not really realistic - not given the description of the ships reactor, it's temperature and physics. In recent days we worked, with significant help from our players, on fixing that - but maintaining good gameplay experience at the same time.
Today I can present you the fruit of this: Re-balanced Boosted Nuclear Thermal Rocket. This version changes exhaust velocities, power consumption and propellant tank sizes - and a required a significant improvement in the autopilot. It's now much smarter, able to assess ship's inertia and uses thrusters only when required to conserve your propellant. It's also much better at aiming now.
The re-balance introduced new, interesting gameplay element. Your ship will now behave differently as your propellant tanks empty. As your total mass reduces the ship will get agile and speedy - unless you manage to fill up the cargo hold. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.
Savegame compatibility note: This version includes new, bigger, propellant tanks that will not be compatible with your old save. You might use that save, but you will need to buy propellant tank to get the ship running.
Changelog:
This is quality-of-life release, with features that are not essential to the game, but make playing it comfortable. Changelog:
This is a first release implementing features requested by players during "Early Crowd" crowdfunding campaign. Changelog:
This is another bugfix release fueled by rapid feedback loop from our dedicated players participating in "Early Crowd" crowdfunding campaign. Changelog:
This release fixes next batch of bugs found by our players during "Early Crowd" crowdfunding campaign and adds additional visual effects. Changelog:
With public access to game builds in our "Early Crowd" crowdfunding campaign we got multiple new bug reports from our dedicated players. This release focuses on fixing all the reported bugs:
This update brings in new upgrades for the ships and improves stability of the game. Changelog:
This upgrade expands the tutorial and clarifies some concepts. Changelog:
This upgrade adds new items to upgrade shop. This includes a new weapon, upgrades for ultracapacitor, kinetic ammo magazine, turbines and more. Changelog:
This release brings long-anticipated upgrade shop into Enceladus Prime station. Now you can spend your hard-earned enceladolars to get new tech for your ship. The inventory is bit thin right now, new merchandise will come in with each subsequent upgrade. List of changes:
This release adjusts repair menu on Enceladus Prime station:
Development of every commercial game consists not only of making the game itself, but also many assorted tasks, that are not directly visible to you players. Things like negotiating agreements, securing financing, handling marketing and other boring yet required stuff. They took over the recent month, but it's now time to get actual game update. 0.63.3 is a fix/re-balance release. Changelog:
This release adds new autopilot control scheme for mouse + keyboard control. You can now precisely set velocity for the autopilot with mouse and set velocity in relation to any object floating in the rings. This new feature requires Autopilot Mk2, which is pre-installed on your default ship.
This release adds the very first modding opportunity to V. Now your ship can have a custom paint job (also in beta!). Changelog:
A few versions back I accidentally removed the time limit of the demo version of the game. Since there was no ill effect of this, I might as well make it official - there is no artificial time limit in the demo version now. This release includes some additional fixes:

Version 0.42.2 adds ship repair menu to Enceladus Prime station. You can now inspect ship damage and fix or replace broken parts. Replacement costs much more, but takes less time and completely fixes the broken system, while fixing sacrifices additional time and quality for lower price. Changelog:
Fist post-Christmas release comes with visual improvement and further expansion of Enceladus Prime station. Changes:
Version 0.40.0 further expands Enceladus Prime station, but also improves few aspects of the demo. Changelog:
Version 0.39.0 brings additional ways in which you can damage - and fix - your ship. Changes include:
Version 0.38.1 upgrades the game engine to latest version. This should improve performance on some systems and allowed more precise fine-tuning of the lighting, bloom and auto-exposure effects.

V: Rings of Saturn v0.23.1 just got released. Features:
Demo version of V: Rings of Saturn is now available for everyone! You can now try V first-hand to check what kind of game it is. You can expect full space-flight mechanics and introductory story elements. The demo version does not support saves and will end once you complete your first ring dive or manage to destroy your ship. Game is still under active development, and while I could not find any bugs on release, there sure can be some lurking in there. If you stumble upon one be sure to let me know, so I can fix it! I will keep the demo in-sync with all the development made on the full game, so while it shows only a part of the game, you can be sure that it shows the most current version. Thank you for your patience and have fun! I hope you'll like the game!
Originally I intended release of ΔV in Q3 2018. Today I took some time to reflect on our development progress and while it’s looking solid, with new features and bug fixes every day, it does not look like we will make it in 2018 - not unless we push it really hard.
“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo
Another important factor is our game engine. ΔV runs on Godot Engine 3.1, which is now in alpha testing stage. It still has bugs. It should reach the stable state in 2018, but I will still need some time to iron out all kinks and quirks that come with every change.
I want to have ΔV released as a complete, polished experience, with all the story elements, all the ships, upgrades and mechanics in place. I don’t want to push a rushed game.
That’s why we decided to reschedule release of ΔV: Rings of Saturn’s rescheduled to Q1 2019.
