2.9 Update!!! Improved Practice and FunTime mode + Huge balancing!

Hello everyone! We're back to regular updates for the game, which means there's a ton of new content for you all to look forward to! Let's get right into it!

[h2]Improved Fun Time mode[/h2]
Ever wanted to play online with no cooldowns? 100x the damage? Only 20% HP, or even 200%?



Say less, we got you covered! You can now adjust these settings when playing the Fun Time mode both offline or online!

[h2]Practice Mode Options[/h2]
For those of you wanting to test all of the game's parameters, you can now adjust them when fighting in the standard Practice Battle!



This should make testing your strategies easier than ever before!

[h2]Re-Balanced Attacks and Characters[/h2]
After our last tournament, we went all out on patching the game and it's strats. Here are a few highlights of the changes:



Most objects now have their health reduced to 300. This should enable you to finally get rid of pesky road-blocks your opponent places to protect themselves!



We adjusted Fin a little bit. With the powerful strategies displayed by our devoted fan Herkura, it was near impossible to make a dent in his overheal stall strat. Now you will notice that Fin has significantly slower Ultra gain and the Ultra does not refill his cooldowns any longer. Fin is still a powerful tank to be aware of, but now you should be able to deal with him before the time expires!



New sand panels! They now slow down cooldowns and entities standing on top of them! This should encourage their use a little more, as they are definitely a stronger presence to be aware of!

      * Lv2 IceCube: Reduced Health from 600 to 300
      * Lv3 Anthem: Reduced Health from 350 to 300, removed stun
      * Lv4 Generator: Reduced Health from 400 to 300
      * Lv4 Bomboyage: Reduced Health from 500 to 300
    * Characters:

      * Fin: Reduced Hyperactive speed buff from 35% to 20%; Reduced Ultra gain from getting crushed / damaged; Removed Ultra VOC refilling gauges
      * Fossil Fuel: Ultra now falls slower
      * Tri-Wing: Increased Fuel system recharge speed 6 -> 5 seconds
    * Styles:

      * Lv0 Flip: Now decreases VOC Power/Healing by 25% and increases crush by 25%
      * Tempo Lv0 -> Lv1
      * Impact Lv0 -> Lv1
      * Lv1 Float: Reduced duration 6 -> 5 seconds
      * Lv1 Magnet: Increased duration 2 -> 2.5 seconds
      * Lv1 Repel: Increased duration 2 -> 4 seconds

We're back from Gamescom y'all!

And we're super excited to jump back into VS updates - especially with our September Tournament coming up this weekend!

With this update we're introducing two exciting new additions to your arsenal!

[h2]NEW PANEL TYPE: HOLY[/h2]

For the first time since launch we're introducing a new panel type:
Holy!



While standing on this panel you will take 25% less damage from enemy attacks, making for a great way to boost your defensive packs!


[h2]NEW VOC: LAST HOPE
[/h2]

You're on your last leg, the opponent clearly has the upper hand and you see no way out?
Then it's time for LAST HOPE our very first LVL X Type VOC.



Using this VOC immediately puts you into an "Determination" state for 6 seconds - re-filling all your VOCs and granting you one last chance at victory. Botch this chance though and... you lose.
USE THIS VOC WITH CAUTION!

With that all that's left are the many balancing changes we've included after seeing your tier lists and shoveling through your feedback!

Greed's new Ultra let's it grow and attack with small "Greedlings"!



Farmadile's new ultra "LEMON TREE" creates a vicious LEMON TURRET!

HUGE BIRTHDAY UPDATE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!

One year ago EndCycle VS finally launched after over 8 years of development!

ROLLBACK NETCODE

Rollback Netcode has finally been implemented!

It has been a long and difficult process but thanks to your support and patience during our community-playtests we were able to implement a completely new netcode which allows players with slower internet connections to enjoy EndCycle VS the same way as everyone else!

2022 is almost over!

What a year it has been for EndCycle!
So many tournaments, mods and of course fan-art has been created this year that it's hard to keep track!

Santa may be coming, but EndCycle VS 2.3 is already here!!!

Happy Holiday season everyone!

[h2]The year is almost over so what better way to close it off than with our last VOC-Pass entries! The VOC-Pass was our gift to our loyal fans and something of a challenge to Gal and myself - we promised you 2 updates and at least 4 new VOCs per month, and I'm proud to say that we've achieved just that!

With EndCycle VS 2.3 we've released 4 updates, 2 new Styles and 9 exciting new VOCs since the beginning of the Pass back in October! Try to top that Santa![/h2]

2.3 is our farewell update to the VOC Pass but we'll of course still update EndCycle VS regularly especially after our December tournament! We made sure to make this the best update yet so you'll have a lot to play with before our next update drops!

Let's get to it

[h2]VOCS[/h2]

[h3] SNACKER [/h3]



Who doesn't love a good turret?
With this devious addition to your arsenal you'll spawn a SNACKER-object which keeps firing until its HP run out!



Here's a fun idea for ya:

Flip the SNACKER to give yourself several HP boosts!
This stacks really well with Fins new ability "Hyperactive"!



[h3]MAGNADE [/h3]



Is your opponent playing too many objects for your taste?
Make them your enemies downfall with MAGNADE!
Magnade gives your opponent the MAGNET ailment which attracts all objects around them!



Pro tip:

Use Magnade to give misplaced cubes a second chance at glory!



[h2]STYLES[/h2]

[h3]MAGNET[/h3]

This Style grants the targeted entity the "MAGNET" ailment!
Use this to your advantage - take your turret on the go for instance!



[h3]REPEL
[/h3]

This Style grants the targeted entity the "REPEL" ailment!
Push away unwanted entities and objects!
"SENPAI" now grants you this ailment automatically!



[h2]CHARAKTERS[/h2]

Several charakters have received new abilities and/or have gotten their abilities revised!
This will make for some interactions during our next tournament on December 11th


[h3]YVEN[/h3]

Yvens ultra is now much easier to land!
His shards now attach themselves to himself instead of the entity he hits!
This makes it much easier to put the desired effect on his Ultra-VOC!



Additionally we gave him the "Overheal" ability so stacking up green shards really pays off now!
Wait a second... Overheal? Isn't that Fins ability?

[h3]FIN[/h3]

Fin has evolved as a fighter!
Our favorite healing specialist learned a new ability which compliments his already fanastic tanky build:
[b]HYPERACTIVE
![/b]



With this new ability every time Fin get's healed by a VOC he receives a short speed boost!
So far so good! Wait that reminds me...

[h3]SOFA SOGOOD[/h3]

Sofas backstabbing ability had to go.
How often were you able to attck your enemies from the back anyway?
We replaced with something better!
RISER let's the popular furniture Noise float above any potential ground-floor danger!



After using a VOC Sofa will gain the "Float" ailment for a couple of seconds!

Yes... we're deep into November.


Time for a new EndCycle VS update!

[h3]Kali[/h3]



Inspired by the Hindu goddess of the same name this VOC will keep anyone from healing themselves!
As soon as she detects someones HP going up she'll hunt them down - take away all of their healed HP and deal some extra damage to boot!



Kali always moves vertically towards its target first before honing in horizontally!
You can use this to your advantage!



Here's a fun trick:

Apply a "FLIP" Style on Kali to prepare a back-up heal support in case you get hurt!



[h3]Sandstorm[/h3]

yesterday we held our monthly EndCycle VS tournament and I'm pleased to say that we have a newcomer amongst the ranks of Voxel Champs!

The spooky season might be over but that doesn't mean we can't have an after-party!

Another two weeks have passed so let's show you our two newest VOCs:

TUGGER and SENPAI

Tugger is a Lv3 Effect VOC that allows you to grab enemies - even if they're around the corner!



With the LV1 Protect VOC Senpai you can push anyone that comes near you away with ease!



You can combine these two VOCs for some excellent combos!



ShotCorn received an upgrade after your feedback! Its kernels now drop on the enemy's current panel !

Additionally we've added an intro sequence to the game which get's us properly pumped everytime we boot EndCycle VS!

Hello everyone!

[h2]EndCycle 2.0 and the VOC - Pass[/h2]

With EndCycle VS 2.0 we're introducing the VOC-Pass!
Every two weeks we will bring you two brand new VOCs to try out!
We're starting off the VOC-Pass with:


ShotCorn



This nifty little LV1. Nature-VOC hurts your enemy and spills kernels of corn.
When the kernels are hit by electricity or fire they pop dealing additional damage!

H2-Go



This LV4. Water-VOC pushes enemies away from you and then freezes them!

Here is the entire change-log:

+ Added VOC tease and changelog display for updates onto title screen
* Spawned objects can no longer stay alive on broken panels
* VOCs:
+ Lv1 ShotCorn: Shoots corn that falls to ground and explodes when hit with fire / elec or lava panel!

Hello everyone and welcome to another EndCycle VS Modding Jam!

What is a modding jam? Well...

"You can create your own attacks, characters and more all without a single line of code using the in-game Toolbox!"

Your task is to create the funniest EndCycle VS Meme Mod possible in under 2 weeks!

First time creating custom mods and content in EndCycle using the toolbox?
No problem! There is an in-game tutorial on how to do so which you can start by simply opening the toolbox in the Mods menu (or pressing F1)!

Low-quality shitpost? A character consisting of only one sprite? Game-breaking VOC that only people from the EndCycle discord will understand?

New panels, reworked VOCs and balancing changes: 1.5 update just released!

[h2]What's up EndCycle players![/h2]
We're back with another fun new update for all of you! This one primarily focuses on new panel interactions, as well as balancing changes to make the game more fun for everyone!
Let's take a look at all the changes in this newest version:

  • Rebalanced Noise Leaks and Mini-boss events in Adventure Mode! We heard you, the new events were too simply too tough, so we eased them up a lot. As a developer it is hard to balance the game so it's fair to new players as well!

[h3]Characters[/h3]
  • Increased movement speed of characters with Glide skill! Tankitty and Greed players rejoice!
  • Reworked Bella passive: Powers up every 4th VOC! Stacks reset when using a non Lv1-3 VOC!

[h3]Panels[/h3]
  • Reworked Grass panels: Attacks activated while on top of a grass panel now regenerate health on hit! When hitting it with a fire attack, the entity now also only takes 25% extra damage instead of 50%!

  • Reworked Metal panels: Now can only be removed by turning them into "Normal" panels first! We reduced damage bonus that electric attacks get on it to 25% from 50% as well!

[h3]VOCs[/h3]
  • Lv2 BioHeart: Heal 120 -> 140
  • Lv2 ChronoRip: 75% Slowdown -> 60% Slowdown
  • Lv3 Regen: Heal 50 -> 80, Regen duration 15 seconds -> 10 seconds
  • Lv4 ElecShift, FireShift, WaterShift, NatureShift rebalanced to ElecDrive, FireDrive, WaterDrive, NatureDrive! These VOCs now speed you up additionally to their original effect of changing your element and buffing same-element VOCs!

That was it for the patch notes on 1.5! To test it out, we also just had another EndCycle VS tournament! The long-standing champion LDDestroier was dethroned by the new EndCycle VS champion: Disc-Oh!

The strategies shown in this newest tournament were unlike any we have seen so far! This tournament was dominated by strategies relying on the new "Counter-style", which players made use of by countering their own attacks!

Take a look at the tournament-deciding combo by Disc-Oh, where he used his own HotMagic to counter a ColdRush attack, which he could then combo into Freezing-Meteors to make the enemy stuck on the panel, unable to dodge them! The mastery shown in hitting every single of the three meteors just shows how much time Disc-Oh devoted to learning the ins and outs of his combos!

We certainly are as we're preparing for our vacations
But not before giving you guys another update!

AND what better way to celebrate all the improvements to EndCycle VS since launch than with a grand tournament!

We've listened to your feedback and spiced up Adventure Mode quite a bit with new events and better ways to improve your roguelike experience!

+ New Mini-boss event that allows you to fight noises and obtain powerful passive-skills as rewards!
+ Noise Leak events where Noises will ambush you in groups!



+ Mysterious tablets can be found all over Anikka now...
+ New dialogues when playing as Yven
+ Made it possible to rearrange VOCs!
+ Noise battles drop specific VOCs now that are indicated by their coloring on the map
+ Noise battles drop element VOCs dependent on their own element.
+ Punks / Agents will now randomly attack or befriend independents instead of being passive towards them

We still have quite a few ideas for Adventure Mode that you'll see soon but for now we hope you'll enjoy this much improved roguelike experience!

Now for some balancing changes:

* Balanced campaign star rating to be more forgiving
* Fixed requirements to obtain 5 stars on a lot of campaign missions
* Stacking Tempo/Impact style with pre-existing buffs now increases duration instead of intensity

* Lv2 Caffeine: Increased speed buff duration to default
* Lv4 Generator: Made HP visible, Power 120 -> 110, Crush 16% -> 14%, Max hits 6 -> 4
* Lv4 Gigantree: Shows remaining health

Styles:
* Lv0 Infuse: Reworked to now grant Berserk to user in exchange for health
* Lv0 Mindgame: Fixed panels getting changed through cursor with certain attacks

We can't believe how much the community has grown since then, thank you so much everyone!
After receiving TONS of new feedback we've already updated the game THRICE since launch.

(Resolved) Launch Delay

Hi everyone!

Today is launch day!
We are beyond excited. Although we were planning on releasing the game at 3PM GMT we are currently waiting on Steam to fix some internal issue so the game can finally go live.

Thank you for your patience we hope this gets resolved ASAP so we can all go an finally play EndCycle VS together.

UPDATE:
Early Access owners of EndCycle VS are now also unable to play the game. We have reported this to Valve and are awaiting a response.

UPDATE 2:
ALL ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED! THE GAME CAN BE PURCHASED NOW! We hope you all enjoy EndCycle VS to its fullest.

Huge Update! New character, VOCs, Ultras, Styles and more!

Hi everyone!

We hope that you're having a great weekend!
Today is the day! Our first major update ever since the end of Early Access has arrived!

Let's get straight to it!

[h2] Introducing... YVEN[/h2]


Yven is the second in command at Azure Shield. Del's right hand man and what many see as the strongest man in Anikka. Shrouded in mystery his abilities heavily differ from any other power previously seen in this world. His mighty crystals serve only one purpose:
Let Del re-awaken the Godi in order to destroy them for good.


His ability and his ultra VOC work together in tandem.
Yvens ability lets him carry 3 shards with him that he shares with any entity that gets hit by one of his attacks.

His Ultra VOC spawns a crystal that affects anyone carrying these shards - depending on the number of shards the effect gets stronger or weaker.

The effect of the crystal is determined by the last VOC-Type Yven used.

Two of these maps incorporate Noises into their design for the first time ever in EndCycle VS!

We have polished ALL in-game fonts and added speech bubbles to give each interaction in the game more flair!

Thorughout your adventures you'll now be able to stumble upon special events that are character-specific and give you additional advantages/challenges throughout your entire run!



We've also included new enemy formations and re-balanced all encounters to properly scale with your progress creating an immensily improved flow!

EndCycle VS Sale-Stop And Road To The Future!

Hello everyone!

We have decided that it is time for the EndCycle VS Early Access phase to officially end! This means the next chapter in EndCycle VS development is starting right now as we begin work ahead of full release!

We would like to thank everyone who bought EndCycle VS and has supported us so far.
During Early Access, your feedback has been invaluable.

Over the last few years, EndCycle VS has grown so much and we honestly believe it is mainly thanks to you guys.

Whether youve joined our tournaments or created awesome mods, you've always made us proud of the game we are making and the community we are building.

This was EndCycle VS only 3 years ago:



And this is the same game today:



What a glow up.

But theres still plenty of work weve got to do before EndCycle VS launches and so much more we want to add. Thats where this phase comes into play.

In order to properly prepare the game for its full release, we need to temporarily stop selling the game to new players until launch day.

This means that until the day of our full release, EndCycle VS will not be purchasable by people who don't already own it.

If you already own the game there is no need to worry! You can still play EndCycle VS with all its features intact! And you will of course have access to all the new things we'll add on launch.

As thanks for your loyalty over the years, we will give everybody who has bought a copy of EndCycle VS a special reward on launch day, so stay tuned!

Regarding you, the community, we will still continue to interact, chat and play with you.
Our weekly streams will remain intact and we are going to keep our modding jams and tournaments going!

Our biggest update yet: New Toolbox, new campaign, major overhaul of all modes!

Happy Holidays everyone!

We've been quite busy over the last few months, working on this update which kept increasing in size until well... it became the biggest update we've ever released (yet again lol).

With this update we're making it easier than ever for YOU to create your own unique EndCycle experiences. Put whatever characters and sprites into the game that YOU want to see, create your own characters using our new and nifty tutorials and share them with your friends!

Now all of this is easier than ever with "Copy+Paste", "Undo+Redo", "SAVE ALL", "TEST", "PREVIEW" features that make the new Toolbox the best it's ever been!




On the story-front we've added a completely new campaign!
"Crimson Force" follows the story of the final days of Cress, Rozu,Spark and the Crimson Punks as the Crimson Force we've known and loved up until now.



Many new gameplay elements await you and the canonical end of the EndCycle VS storyline.
Yet we have one final campaign in line for you...

Hello friends!

We are back after working on this update for 3 weeks instead of 2.
It's a little experiment of ours, which allows us to experiment a bit more between updates.
Tell us how we did!

This updates major focus is the Toolbox!
We made it a lot more user friendly and changed the design so it'll become much easier to read.
The best part? Drag & Drop integration. That is a huge deal believe us or not.
Now if you mess up the sequencing of an AI you can easily rearange it in seconds!

Also Fin is now part of the Toolbox helping out players by explaining all the parts of the Toolbox one by one.



We hope this'll make the Toolbox a lot more fun to use and we can't wait to see what you'll create with it.

Oh and we've also rebalanced a bunch of Vocs and added 3 new ones we deemed necessary.

We're excited to finally bring you a new Noise after all this time: Farmadile!
This speedy tank creates Grass panels when it attacks!
Its Ultra-Voc "HolzWalz" launches a huge log barrage from said Grass Panels!

Team.01: An amazing new Local Multiplayer and Team Deathmatch experience!

Hello again everyone!

Another 2 weeks have passed, so another update is out! This time we're calling it Team.01!

[h2]Why Team.01?[/h2]
Well we reworked our entire design philosophy when it comes to Team Deathmatch maps! We added 5 new maps for you to play on, and they now feature a completely new panel type which makes the entire battle feel much more connected than our old teleporter-based approach!

[h2]Better CPUs![/h2]
CPUs also became much harder as they're now able to use ultra VOCs against you, so Team Deathmatches with only CPUs fighting against you will now REALLY test your skills!

[h2]Reworked Local Multiplayer Experience[/h2]
We also completely revamped the Versus screen! Through this screen, you can play offline matches with your buddies in local multiplayer or customize offline battles the same way you would with online multiplayer matches!

2 weeks have passed, so say hello to our newest update: Help.02!

Did we mention we're now pushing out an update every two weeks? We didn't? Well now we did!

While not huge, these updates still add a whole bunch of new things to the mix. Just check out this amazing changelog:

Do you or your relatives experience the following: Playing Adventure mode and accidentally betraying your friends all the time? No problem! Your progress in an Adventure Mode run is now saved after each zone you clear, so you can easily continue with only a slight setback if you get killed! No more retracing your steps and entering the exact same seed again!


[h2]Improved Game-feel and Team Deathmatch experience[/h2]
Our highly trained engineers (Gal) analyzed the game feel and thought there is still room for improvement. After years of theorizing and experiments here is the result: The camera now zooms in ever so slightly when YOU hit an enemy. This makes the game have that crispy hitmarker feel, yet not get in the way of visual clarity.

We also improved the visual effects for our team deathmatch mode. It now feels much clearer and more fun to play!

It's Friday! Time for a brand-new update!

Today we're focusing on adding Tutorials to the game as well as several QOL improvements.
This way new players will quickly be able to take part in our online multiplayer and pose as formidable foes for all you EndCycle VS Pros in the future!

Furthermore we've tinkered with the Inventory menu, adding the option to customize recipes you've bought and improving the overall deck building flow.

Hello there!

This Sunday we're finally moving EndCycle's new and improved online multiplayer out of its beta stage and giving it a full release!

Online Multiplayer Update: How far we are and general progress?

Hello everyone, Gal Axis here! I am the project lead and programmer of EndCycle VS!

I just created a little update vlog on the state of the online multiplayer of the game here:

As you might know, we have been reworking the online multiplayer systems of the game since early January. As such, the official servers have been offline a lot of the time.
We apologize for this inconvenience. We are working diligently and as fast as we can on bringing out the new multiplayer experience.

So the question on your minds must be how the new online multiplayer is coming along.

After looking at the systems in place, I decided to keep the lobby system intact as it worked well until now.

On the flipside however, I have started a complete rework of the old online battle code.
Before the rework, it was extremely hard to maintain and it took a lot of resources to adapt it to changes and additions to the game, such as the ultra attacks.
I have now made it possible for the battles to automatically transfer their entirety over the network and load it with barely any adaptations to the netcode to work.
This change also makes it possible for modded battles to work online. However, this ended up being a mistake, as battles would perform very poorly in terms of FPS and the amount of data transferred.

At the beginning my goal was to make the systems so automatized that it would need no further input from me or developers of mods to create online multiplayer content. Unfortunately, while I was testing these systems, it became apparent that complete automation was not possible. In a battle run situation, the game simply transferred too much data and ran very slowly trying to copy the state of all objects to the clients. I exhausted almost every possible optimization measure possible while still keeping it all automated. I kept insisting on this solution so that developers of mods would have an easy life, however it ended up costing me a lot of development time.

I have now decided to rework this automatic systems and introduce some manual networking definitions that modders will also have to use in order to keep the data transfer low and the FPS high! What this means, is that I now need another go at reworking the online multiplayer to transfer events instead of the data itself! This change will minimize the amount of data transfer and make it not impact the performance of the game. This change is quite the big amount of work, so it will take some more time before the new online multiplayer is ready to be played.

I hope you now have a clearer grasp at where the online multiplayer update is and hope you look forward to playing it.

Rollback Netcode incoming!

Hello everyone!

As part of the final touches on the game, we're now adding rollback multiplayer!
What this means is that the online multiplayer experience will be polished to a degree, where you won't even feel like you're playing online any longer!

As part of this overhaul, we'll also be adding support for the custom scripts you make when modding to be transferrable via the network. This means you'll be able to play online with all of your custom content, even with elements you coded yourself. Cool huh?

Unfortunately, there have been issues with our online multiplayer as of late. And due to us having only one programmer (Gal), we have to dedicate our time and resources towards creating the new overhauled experience. As such the current online servers for the game will be under maintenance a lot and suffer outages.

We hope that this next update will stabilize and enhance your online experience! We're trying to make it as fun as we can!

The Future Of EndCycle VS

Hello everyone, Gal Axis the project lead / developer of the game here!

As some of you know, I have just finished moving to Norway and will be staying there for 10 months as part of my bachelor studies. While this will not affect the state and goals of the project, the amount of updates and the development speed might drop somewhat. EndCycle VS has always been a passion project of mine, that I had the joy of being able to pursue professionally since we released it on Steam in Early Access.
Since release, the game has come incredibly far. With today's version of EndCycle VS having been almost entirely redesigned, the project has morphed, changed and grown so so much. I want to take a moment and thank you all for your support so far. Your kind steam reviews, discord messages and tweets have meant the world to me and the team. Seeing how much you all love our work has been shocking in the best kind of way to say the least. <3

Now let's get into the meat of things: If I had to say, the secret dev-version of the project is just about 95% complete! If you are not up-to-speed with all the new additions, I recommend you look through our twitter and check our most-recent posts for a recap of things that will be added with the next update! Here is a short roadmap of the things we will still be adding...
Next update: "Ultra"


  • Unique Ultra Attacks for each of the characters
  • New reworked roguelike-mode
  • 2 new playable characters
  • Full Steam Workshop integration
  • Achievements on both Steam and Android
  • 4 new attacks and 1 new style
  • Tons of balancing changes and sprite reworks

And here are our planned features in the last few updates before we release the game in full capacity:

We started looking for a game publisher! In order to bring EndCycle VS to as many people as we can, we want to market the game in a much more professional scope than we have so far. We will ensure that the publisher we will partner up with will not affect our planned features, the monetization or availability of the game on Steam. The publisher will provide us with the necessary skills / reach to bring the game to players all around the world and will also help us with localizing it into different languages! REVO Scripting update

A brand new EndCycle VS!

Hello everyone, I'm Gal Axis the project lead / programmer of the game here to share very exciting news with you all!

First of all, as you might have noticed already: The game's logo is now updated and different! This look is closer to what EndCycle VS stands for: A fast paced pixel-art fighting game that is yours for the making!



Revo Scripting is now in the game!

Using the new Revo Engine you can create your own cross-platform scripts to code your own game modes, battle systems attack patterns, and anything else you want to create.

We're still working on a lot of guides that document just how you can utilize this new feature properly, so stay tuned for Steam guides that will be popping up soon.
If you have any questions, come join our Discord server (https://discord.gg/zS33UCb) and chat with other mod creators which are already working on mods with the Revo engine!

Mods are not the only new thing however! This update has a lot more in store for you...

Joining the fray is a new character: Fossil Fuel


This behemoth of a noise is able to consume lava panels in order to boost the magnitude of attacks to their limit!!!



With its large HP pool and power, it will be a challenge to take down in online multiplayer. Just make sure to steer clear of water and slowing attacks!

New VOCs
There is a bunch of new attacks for you to play with!


  • Lv1 UpBlade and Lv1 Downblade VOCs combined with the newly reduced sword ending lag will make it posible to combo your enemies out of this world!

  • Lv3 PotatoBomb will stick to your enemies and explode in an X radius around them with a powerful explosion! You can get really creative with setups due to the delay!

  • Rain down the Lv1 Droplet VOC on your enemies and freeze them solid! Due to its low cooldown, it's easy to overwhelm your enemy and trap them in a cool situation!
  • Absorb your enemies' hits and turn them into HP with the new Lv2 PainCrave! Combining this with Fin's new "Overheal" ability will result in an explosive amount of HP!



UI Overhaul

A bunch of the UI was overhauled to be more simple, accessible and quick to use. We also made fonts more legible by removing a lot of the outlines which cluttered the visuals. Check it out!





Character shop

Characters can now also be bought in the shop instead of having to unlock them through specific game modes! This way, you can now focus on the modes which are the most fun to you!

Punk Update!!!

Happy new lunar year!

We have been working hard to bring you all the newest EndCycle VS content. Here is all the new stuff you can look forward to...

[h2]New Main Menu and UI feel[/h2]
As we have added a lot of features to EndCycle VS, we thought it might be time to update our main menu to accommodate all of them. So, we present to you: EndCycle's New Main Menu:

You will find the features much more easily accessible than before. We also polished UI feel here and there. We hope you enjoy the soothing UI animations we created.

[h2]New VOCs[/h2]
This time around we added two new VOCs: PanelBack and AreaForce! The former reverts back an enemy panel in front of you and shoots a powerful energy orb towards your enemy! The latter forcefully takes back the closest row from your enemy and is only level 3, but it hurts you slightly in exchange!

Have fun experimenting with these new VOCs!
Oh, there's also a new Style: Neutral! With this style, you revert the closest stolen panel in front of you back to a neutral party. Use this style wisely...

[h2]Recipe Hub[/h2]
You can now upload your recipes online and share them with the world! Simply go into the inventory and press the "upload" button in the recipes menu. You can of course also download recipes from all over the world! Get inspired by other people's decks and make your own spin-offs and variations of them!


[h2]Local Lan Server[/h2]
In the Online Multiplayer menu you will now find a new "Host Server" option! Clicking this will open up your own private lobby which is hosted through your computer! Doing so enables you to host a lan lobby for yourself and your friends (or even an online one if you have port-forwarded the ports 17778 and 17779)! Have fun playing with your friends even without connecting to the internet!

[h2]Save linking[/h2]
You can now connect your save file between Android and Steam! Simply visit the "Save" section under the settings and initiate a Host and Client pair-up between your phone and your PC! Once you do this, you will be able to take your adventures on the go without any further hassle!

Just be careful not to play on both devices at once, as you may lose progress otherwise...

Hey!
I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween season.

Finally Cress - the leader of Crimson Force- arrives to EndCycle VS!
She's a really brave fighter so her ability focuses on close-combat!
We hope you'll enjoy playing as her!

We've also added the possibility to add CPU enemies.
Creating their AI was a lot of work, you can use them to train or just to sparr for fun, in case you can't find other players to fight against.

A bunch of new Vocs also await you.
All in all another huge update.

Crimson Update!

What. It. Do. EndCycle Fans.

We're excited to bring you another big update! To try it out, simply switch to the beta branch, by right-clicking the game in your steam inventory, and pressing properties. From there, simply select the beta option as shown here:


The focus this time lies on bringing you more tools and attacks to make battles even more exciting than before!

Let's first talk about all the new ailments that are possible with this update:

+ Blind: Limits your vision to a 3x3 area
+ Haste: Speeds up your VOC cooldown speed
+ Brake: Slows down your VOC cooldown speed
+ Berserk: Boosts your attack power for a small duration
+ Meak: Reduces your attack power for a small duration
+ Floating: Makes you float, making you unaffected by panels
+ Frozen: Freezes you into place, making you unable to move

Now unto the VOCs that utilize those ailments and more:

+ Lv3 BackFlash - Counters with blinding attack!
+ Lv3 Companion - Places cube that slides towards attacker!
+ Lv2 BoulderBack - Counter by dropping a boulder on enemy!
+ Lv2 Virus - Counters with poisonous explosion when hit!
+ Lv2 CoffeeBean - Throws bean that speeds up cooldowns!
+ Lv2 PanelLance - Hits 2x1 area with panel changing slash!
+ Lv2 ShowStopper - Slows down enemy gauge when hit!
+ Lv3 FrontFlare - Blinds 3 panels ahead!
+ Lv1 SpikeTrap - Lays spikes that impale enemy!

* Froster and Humidity now freeze enemies
* Caffeine now grants haste
* Reworked StunWave and ToxicWave

Of course there are a bunch of new Styles as well:

In fact, this update is just the first half of the huge Crimson-Update, which was getting bigger and bigger the longer we worked on it.
We decided it was getting too big for a single update and didn't want to keep you waiting any longer for a lot of stuff we could just bring you early.

The next update will bring you 3 new campaigns, which further explore the world of Anikka. One of those revolves around Cress - the brave leader of Crimson Force, while another one is about Del - the calculating chief of Azure Shield! As for the third one... You'll just have to wait and see!

Design the game with us!



Hey y'all hope you're having a wonderful summer.

We are currently trying out some new things with the combat system to make it faster and more fun!

Open up the beta branch of EndCycle VS by right clicking on EndCycle VS in your library, going under properties and then selecting the "Betas" submenu. Select the beta, and then open up EndCycle VS to try out the new combat system.

It definitely takes some getting used to, but we are convinced that this new system will make for a much better experience.

But please let us know what you think!
The great thing about Early Access is that we can react to your feedback, and make the game the best it can be together with YOU.

Azure Update



Hi!
Took my sweet time writing this but....better late than never!

Hopefully you already got to play the new Azure update.

If not then look at all this new stuff:

+ Single-player campaign!
Finally you can explore the world of EndCycle VS.
Get a glimpse at the lives of several of our main characters, by fighting your way through several missions!
Maybe you can even unlock some cool stuff along the way....

Delicia and the Azure Agents enter the stage. What is their plan?
Also several hidden SP characters appear out of nowhere...can you find all of them?

Change the clothes of your favorite character!
Gender neutral characters even allow you to change their skin color and hair length to allow you to self-insert yourself into the exciting online battles!

April Update!

Hey everyone hope you're having a wonderful spring so far!

We took the nice weather, as a chance to shut the windows, sit down in front of our PCs and create this new update!

Here's what you can expect:

+ Added in-game Mod manager
Now it's easier than ever to put anything you like into the game!

+ Added Mod browser to up- and download mods in-game
Do you want to share your mod with the community, without actually having to leave the game?
Now you can!

+ Game now automatically synchronizes mods with server
Join a server that has a mod running, and the game will automatically install that mod for ya, so you can enjoy and share all the wonderful possibilities of modding!

+ Reworked Tutorial and Tips menu
We gave this one an overhaul so new player can get the hang of the game more quickly, and veterans can see neat tips and tricks to enhance their playstyle!

+ Reworked entity HP/Crush gauge
It looks prettier now.


We hope you enjoy this update, which clearly has a modding focus.

To all the none-modders out there:
We're already working on the next update which brings new content to the base-game.
You can look forward to exciting gameplay-enhancements!

Small update on what we are currently working on

At the beginning of April you can expect a small- yet exciting update, which let's you finally upload your mods, and also search for new ones inside of EndCycle VS very own mod-browser.

You can also run your own custom server with any mod you like!
Players that join will automatically get the mods installed and enabled so you won't have to worry about mod compatibility!

Once we are finished with this update, we'll let you know about the bigger things to come. We can't wait to see what you'll do with the modding tools!

March Toolbox Update!

Hello lovely Cyclists!

With this new update we're introducing you to ONE NEW BACKGROUND!
...but more importantly we've updated the in-game modding tools now allowing you to modify EndCycle VS to a greater extent!

What is also new, is that you can stack up multiple mods at once, and integrate up to 1000 of your own characters into the game!!!



If you haven't gotten into modding yet here is what you can do in EndCycle VS:


  • Add new playable characters (sprite, stats & abilities) to the Roster
  • Create your own battlefields
  • Create enemies and define their AI however you want
  • You can of course create you own background as well
  • Add your music to fights
  • Change the sound effects of the game
  • Heck if you want to you can change any sprite so you can even remove our beautiful logo
  • Use every possible variable to create unique attacks

Here's some ideas of what you can do with these variables:

  • Change the attack range and trajectory!
  • Chain multiple individual attacks together to form a combo!!
  • Make the attack transform and interact with the battlefield!
  • Add custom sound effects!
  • Change its element, power and level!
  • And much much more!

And all of the modding can be done through the toolbox UI! No coding necessary!


On the content side of things, here are some extra things we included with this update:

  • "On Sale" tab in shop
  • Power/Crush display when looking at VOCs
  • New VOC icons
  • Overhauled shop UI

ANOTHER MONTH ANOTHER HUGE UPDATE

This month we are proud to finally unveil the identity of the cute fellow who has been all over out promo-material: It's Rozu the Noise-Hunter!

And a special guest visits our growing roster: Tri-Wing!!!

Characters now have unique abilities, to make battles even more diverse.

A bunch of new Voc's and Styles also have been added!
We can't wait to see how you'll use them.

+ Lv2 Telepunch

(Normal) Materializes a giant fist, which can be activated on your chosen lane

+ Lv1 ElectroRay

(Elec) Charges up for a beat, and then starts shooting a lazer ahead which damages entities multiple times and stuns them. Depletes VSG bar and keeps damaging as long as the button is held

+ Lv1 Meteors

(Fire) Creates giant meteors falling unto the battlefield. The longer you activate this Voc the more meteors will fall.

+ Lv0 ChargeFlame

(Fire)Charges up while the button is held, when the button is released a Flame Shot is shot ahead of the player if the attack was fully charged, otherwise the charge resets

+ Lv2 HotMagic

(Fire) Creates a mantle of fire right onto the user which makes all projectiles in the panel in front disappear instantly and that causes slight damage

+ Lv1 LogLaunch

(Nature) Shoots a log ahead which rolls along the ground. If the shoot button is pressed more often, the VOC spawns more logs at the cost of one bar per log

+ Lv2 Plantrap

(Nature) Sprouts vines directly in front of the user, healing the user and damaging the enemy as often as the attack button is pressed, reducing the VSG bar slightly every time.


+ Lv1 Caffeine

(Normal) Pulls the user three panels ahead.

+ Lv2 WideSword

(Normal) Slices a 1x3 area in front of the user

+ Lv0 Push

(Normal) Pushes any object one panel in front with a big fist back by one panel, dealing slight damage

+ Lv3 ChronoRip

(Special) If hit within a short time span the time slows down for a short moment and the user moves behind one panel

+ Lv3 TrndWttr

(Water) Shoots a water bomb to the designated panel, which freezes hit panels in a plus
