Hints: Connect only the walkthrough steps that solve that puzzle Conditions: Connect all puzzles that need to be solved before the hints for this puzzle can be displayed Solving puzzles that have a condition before solving the condition will silently solved all previous puzzles so be careful with how you set up you conditions and if players can access them before solving previous puzzles You can update rooms with the old Puzzle prop by going to the Room config and pressing the 'Activate' button next to the 'Remove all legacy Puzzle components' option. This will remove all Puzzle components from the room and you will have to add new Puzzle props. [h2]Important note for builders![/h2] Last night's update broke the Puzzle prop save. If you've updated your room (saved over the previous save) after the props update (13 hours ago) you need to check you puzzle props! [h3]How to fix your room if your puzzle props are empty:[/h3] Go to your UGC room folder and find the Backups folder inside. Choose one of the backup files that was made before the update. Copy and paste it to your room folder and rename it to "Room.room". This will override you Room.room file and delete any changes you made, so you might want to make a backup of that old Room.room file as well (just to be safe). Find the same backup file as mentioned in 2. Open it and the original Room.room file with some text reader. Find all puzzle components you want to revert and paste their settings into the Room.room file on the exact same position (you'll need to do some detective work to figure out which puzzle props match). This is how the empty puzzle props look. You can search for "puzzle" to find all of them in the text reader. Build a Room Competition
[h2]Judging criteria[/h2] We will be playing the game in pairs and rating the game based on the below-mentioned scoring. We will then take the average of each scoring point and sum them together. Thus, you can get a total of 20 points, which will be rounded to 2 decimal places. You can create a room for a solo player, two players, and even more players (but please keep it under ten :P) Scoring:
* Additionally, for the popularity award, the winner will be the person whose room gets the most subscribers. [h2]How to make a Room[/h2] Go to Escape Simulator, "Workshop" button, "Your Rooms," and press "Create". This creates an empty room, and you can start building. To get some help, you can look through "Tutorial Rooms" and see how you do certain things, such as puzzles and animation. You can also get on our Discord community and ask about anything you need help with! Alex: Your time starts... NOW! P.S. We've just launched another bug-fix release. Fun news today - it's time for the first gameplay video for Escape Simulator. This time it's the first room in the "Labyrinth of Egypt" pack. The video shows of the controls and how you interact in the world. In this case the movement is WASD & mouse, at certain moments you get control the mouse fully when interacting with item in examine mode, or when you're using the item in the scene. |
This is the first post in Escape Simulator. We're so happy to finally share stuff about the game. It's been almost two years since the start of the development and we're heading to an exciting release. |
