Greetings Duelists! My name is Bahadir Baho Van, and Im DiceHit Games Game Designer on Neoduel: Backpack Monsters, with a message on the future of our game. Since the conception of Neoduel: Backpack Monsters, creating such a game has been a significant task for us, and running an asynchronous multiplayer game server for the first time in many of our careers has made the past year especially difficult. Despite the number of players, the efforts of our publishers, and a very positive Steam rating since launch, some features of the game need to be scaled back to be sustainable as a business, without the need to completely shut down or delist the game. Because we are a small indie studio, our solution was to remove the asynchronous multiplayer aspects of Neoduel and make it a complete offline experience, reducing the need for a live server in all regions, and put on hold for now any further additional content (including the planned Lava and Storm fusion elementals). Starting the next update were resetting all Elo to the base one for all players, and as you win more games in the ranked mode, youll still rise up to the ranks and face more challenging builds. These builds are based on around half a million in the year of the game being live in all forms (demo, early access, live game), so the chance of you facing the same opponent in your rank again is less than 0.002500%. Basically, to make the long story short, the game Elo system will be offline, with the build database being read on your own device instead of fetching it from an online server. The game as you know will look pretty much the same, with the only major removal being the leaderboards. Youll still be able to know your Elo thanks to your player card showing off your stats, but we as developers do not get any info from you players, nor any new builds or Elo, so no way to populate a leaderboard. Majority of you will only experience an Elo reset and thats it. The game will feel and play as it was online, which is something we wanted to make sure remained the same. On a personal note, making this announcement is bittersweet for me. I am really proud of the DiceHit Games, Rogue Duck Interactive, and The 4 Winds Entertainment teams for creating such an excellent game that has received rave reviews since its release. I'm grateful to have witnessed a community of passionate Duelists and their dedication to the game and its improvement, as one of the most positive and supportive game communities any of us have ever seen. Thank you for this experience, and while we continue our adventure with Neoduel: Backpack Monsters, we aim to show you some other projects in the near future that are just as unique, if not more, for all of you fans to test.
Happy holiday season Duelists! We're thrilled to announce the launch of NeoDuel: Backpack Monsters the "So much content it should be a remaster" major update. This follows Novembers Swamp update, a major content drop for the highly-rated PvP auto-battler blending monster taming with strategic inventory management, from the Turkish indie duo of Rogue Duck Interactive and DiceHit Games.
The Swamp Update (v1.1), released November 27th, introduced a fresh new fusion Element created by merging Nature and Water elements, with over 10 upgrades and Cosmions empowered by that same muddy power, alongside reworked Haste buff and Clumsy debuff. With the "So much content it should be a remaster" major update, NeoDuel continues to evolve by adding over 20 QoL updates ranging from UI changes to better user experience, brand new Steam Community items, and finally, a singleplayer mode, offering Duelists the space to refine their strategies, learn elemental counters, and take on curated challenges without affecting Elo ranks.

This update, titled The Swamp Update (version 1.1), is now live on Steam and introduces a fresh new fusion Element by the same name, created by merging Nature and Water elements and on top of that we've done the prework on a bunch of new feature coming in the coming months including a soon to be released singleplayer challenges for all solo Duelists. We also wanted to introduce a Custom PvP mode in this updates (as mentioned in V1.0.97 patch notes), but due to some IP-based restrictions in certain countries, we've decided to push that feature to a later date instead of preventing some nations from being able to use it. The good thing is that the system is ready, and just requires our network infrastructure to find a solution around those IP restrictions.

THE BIG UPGRADE PATCH

In today's dev blog, we're looking forward to the future after one month of launch. What were the highlights so far, some fun stats about our Duelist's performance, as well as to what to expect for the future of Neoduel: Backpack Monsters.
Despite some of bugs and issues in the launch week, we are generally pleased with how the release went, and for that we'd want to take this time to thank everyone from your Duelists to our dev team and publishing partners. Everyone involved and our community has been incredibly receptive and transparent with questions, concerns, and recommendations, and we have taken everything on board which has shaped the future of the game.

My name is Dora zsoy, one of the lead Producers on NeoDuel from Rogue Duck Interactive, known for games like Cardboard Town and recently launched Dice & Fold. In case you missed it, we revealed our official launch date, set now for 30th of September 2024, as announced via a fresh new trailer via IGN which you can watch below. The game will be made available for the price of $11.99 with a launch discount of 20% (rounding to roughly $9.50), with lower regional pricing for a handful of markets. Were super excited to finally launch the game after months of work, based on a long list of feedback, surveys and playthrough of the demo from our community. While we spoke about the launch content update in the 0.9.0 Patch Notes, were glad to share that pretty much everything planned is going according to plan, including a reworked onboarding for newcomers, technical optimization, the Cosmodex and some new gameplay mechanics including the arrival of fusionable elements starting with Ice (blending Water and Air together). In that sense, were going to keep the demo for a few days, then it will be retired from the Steam store so get your Duels going until then (official date will be shared at a later stage).
The remaining days will be needed for the last polishing touch on the game before the release, such as finishing up tweaks on localization of our 11 supported languages (English, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified & Traditional Chinese), as well as some scheduled quality assurance work. This will provide us plenty of time to concentrate on gameplay refinement, bug repairs, optimization, and interface enhancements as well.
For the time being, I figured Ill give you a glimpse of all that is to be expected in the full release of NeoDuel: Backpack Monsters.

NEW ARCHETYPE: FOS RU DRAGONS
If you remember the 0.9.0 Patch (which you can read here in case you missed it), we wanted to introduce a new Cosmion archetype that feels rare and powerful, and our pick was Dragons. Mystical being that can be found in the folklore of many different cultures around the world, we felt that Dragons fit perfectly in our goal was to create an archetype that could embrace any Element and serve as a set piece with sufficient variation to accommodate various builds.
While we already had two Dragons in the game, Houshan and Runghai, they were Legendary Cosmions you could only buy in the shop. With this patch, we're removing those two dragons from the shop rotation, and introducing the base Cosmion known as Baby Dragon.
This will be Duelist's first building block in the archetype - plus it's cute as hell - and will need to be "fed" a Plinn or Kriko to evolve into Teen Dragon. The latter will then need to be fused with Essences, to become one of the following 5 Elemental Dragons:

A few weeks ago, we planned to write a retrospective blog post, but after being included in this week's Wholesome Games Steam Celebration, we decided it would be preferable to concentrate on two things: finishing up some essential improvements that the community has requested, and sharing our recap.
As we prepare for the upcoming full launch in the upcoming season, let me set some expectations: our publishers, The 4 Winds Entertainment, and our development team, Rogue Duck Interactive and DiceHit Games, are committed to giving our community regular updates about the game, even in its demo form. So let's get started right away!
STEAM FEST RECAP AND THE STATE OF NEODUEL DEVELOPMENT
For the past couple of weeks since the end of the Steam Next Fest, weve had a mountain of data to analyze from demo players feedback, to suggestions in our official Discord channels, but also those that filled in the official game survey, and for that we would like to start this blog entry by thanking you all!
We learned a lot from players feedback, ranging from what most of you like, dislike, and what exactly the general consensus felt missing in a game like NeoDuel. On top of that, the Steam annual event helped us reach a whopping 15000 wishlists, and we cant thank you enough for it.
Also a small visual update: NeoDuel has a new logo! The new design is much clearer, and carries on the visual style of the Traditional & Simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese versions as they are fully localized. We are particularly big fans of the little flairs added in certain letters to bring them more to the front.

From June 10 to June 17, take part in a thrilling 7-day series of challenges known as the NeoDuel Fest. Unique daily challenges where you need to show your strategic creativity for a chance to win Steam Gift Cards!
7 Back-to Back Challenges: NeoDuel Fest is a series of 7 unique challenges, each inspired by different in-game themes.
Follow the specific daily challenges, showcase your strategic creativity using diverse in-game mechanics, capture your best performance, share screenshots in the dedicated Discord channel and win some prizes!
The Top 3 participants for each challenge selected by our team will win Steam Gift Cards either 50 or 25 of Euros depending on their ranks (or equivalent in your local currency).

Its been a wild couple of days since our last patch note, but in case you missed it, we have a new publishing partner - The 4 Winds Entertainment - who will support us as we get NeoDuel closer to the finish line and onward. That means our patch notes will become a bit more fun and clear, and follow certain formatting for better accessibility.
This upcoming patch for the NeoDuel demo is slightly heavier on content, since well be highlighted in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Our team has been hard at work adding a plethora of new content and features, a reshape to the existing meta but without breaking some of the top duelist builds out there Just, you know, stopping some exploits, while keeping things fresh.
NEW CONTENT FOR THE GAME:
New Feature: Battle Log
A lot of Duelists wanted this, and we finally did it. You can now see which of your Cosmion did the most damage or synergy, and find out the weaker chain in the link. Its a full log feature that splits data into damage count, healing and shield values, and other effects applied. We will be listening to all of you Duelists feedback on this feature, and work toward a more complex or tweaked version of the Battle Log as we get closer to the full launch.
New Feature: Fusion Bond

Alright, you probably guessed by now that we're a bunch of weebs. We love the fusion abilities of our beloved Cosmions, but some of you felt like the outcome of fusing wasn't clear. With the Fusion Bond, you can now see which Cosmions can fuse together, and the potential outcome.
New Feature: Additional Keyboard Shortcuts
The 4 Winds Entertainment teams up with Rogue Duck Interactive to add 3 new titles to its 2024-2025 publishing slate, starting with previously announced NeoDuel: Backpack Monsters, an exciting PvP inventory management auto-battle game to players worldwide, currently set for release in Q3 2024.

Hello Duelists, It's patch day and it's already live! While we collect our smaller updates in this thread, this is a big one and includes some news, so here are they! System Changes: - Elo System Reworked, let us know how it feels! - Links added to Cosmions with no links or only 1 link. This will increase the skill expression overall. - Some on-trigger Cosmions now only work with Attackers as they were letting some truly overpowered combos to happen (Shown as " Link" in game) - Some Upgrades Reworked: Discover them in-game and let us know what you think! :) General Balance - In-battle Player HP increased: Fights will take slightly longer and will let some new ramp-up builds to work. - Credit amount increased in each Stage: You'll get to make more meaningful choices in shop. - Fog, Toughness and Brittle now diminish over time. We'll keep an eye on this and balance Cosmions that provide these buff / debuffs to companse with the next patch. - Fusion formula adjustments Cosmion Adjustmens - Nerfs: Riko, Omnicore, Demoncore, Fire Mira, Flinter - Buffs: Firefist, Blazeroll, All the Ducks - Balanced: Air Cosmions (Less Energy usage, more damage, hence further synergy with Crit!) - Other minor nerf and buffs We hope you'll enjoy this version!
