While doing some performance improvements in the previous patch i accidentally messed up the endless hard mode so only the pirates faction enemies were apperating. This patch fixes it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm happy to announce that, thanks to the publisher EastAsiaSoft, Rick Henderson will hit consoles in early 2022.

Hello dear players, once again i'd like to thank everyone for supporting Rick Henderson, it means the world to me. I want to reward everyone that had faith in me and bought the game, so i'm working on a small spin-off that will be something like BitBlaster XL meets Rick Henderson, a top down bite-sized game that will be free for all Rick Henderson owners. Here's the video of the development version (it's still rough around the edges, some sprites need changing and a lot of juice needs to be added, but it's all going quite quickly). Core loop is there, adding some more pickups and special abilities. Like in Rick Henderson, goal is to last as long as possible in the progressively harder surroundings. Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of updates, i had COVID and it took me a while to get back on track. I've been really busy preparing everything for the full release, lots of new waves, better tutorial, UI, overall better performance and stability, localization to German, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese and French. I've been working on the game for more than five years and time has come to wrap things up. There's a lot more that i'd like to add to the game, but at one point i have to release it. At the moment, i think it provides a lot of fun, especially for the price tag. If the game goes well in terms of sales i will be working on additional content which can be seen on the Roadmap in the Discussions part of the Steam page. I would like to thank to all the players participating in the early access, you helped made a better game, i hope all of you will enjoy it, both rookies and veterans in the genre. As always, if you have any bug reports, be sure to report them. New version is now online, be sure to update it and i hope you will enjoy it. See you on full release.

Since i want a stronger feeling of importance of perk selection so you can actually make a categorized build, i improved some of the perks. Shield Overload now adds +100 damage to shield damage instead of 50 (default is 75 for Ben, 100 for Rick, 125 for Thoraxx) Shield Battery now adds +2 seconds to shield duration instead of +1 second (default is 0.75 seconds for Ben, 1 second for Rick, 1,25 seconds for Thoraxx) Speed Freak now adds +0.2 speed to ship (default speeds are 1.1 for Ben, 1.0 for Rick, 0.9 for Thoraxx) I believe that previous values were too small to make a difference and I hope these changes will improve the importance of perk selection and enable some cool ship builds in longer games like boosting the shield to last 10 seconds, make the ship go very VERY fast or make the shield damage extremely devastating. Also, horizontal speed of ranks is lowered from a maximum of 1.5 to 1 so the player can catch up, sometimes they just move to fast and it feels unfair.
I believe some of you were annoyed with the speed the weapons change and would like perks to be something more substantial to the ships upgrades. I added Quick Draw perk under Support perks which enables you to switch your weapons in half the time, which is pretty much instantaneously.
