I'm reverting the game back to an old version by default. You can change to the updated graphics by going to the preferences>beta in steam library.

For some time, the achievements were being wonky. Some would unlock and some would not, even though the game code never was changed. The game engine used was updated, however, and this might have triggered an issue. After spending several hours on this, I've concluded a few things. 1) Using a demo build in Steam apparently does not grant achievements - this made me think something was broken when it actually wasn't. 2) I cleared AppData / Roaming / RenPy / Disturbed-1531778811 3) Rebuilt the game with the game engine up-to-date (cleared persistent data and forced recompile) 4) Booted up Steam, updated, verified, and started getting achievements on an alternate steam account... Seeing that my alt account can get the achievements, I'm retiring from this issue. What a headache this has caused. I apologize if you, like me, were having problems with this. Hopefully, this or the recent update helps.

A number of translations were missing from the last update. This patch should fix it.

Where Has the Time Gone?
Four years in the past feels so distant and strange. So much has happened and changed, and yet in some ways, things have stayed the same. I speak of the thrill of adventure, the uneasiness of the unknown, and that disturbed feeling you get when things go wrong. What an inspiration to read about and see so many adventurers traverse the unknown! Happy 4 Years of Disturbed!
New Death Added
Even though there are other projects going on, I couldn't sit by this year as I have in the past. So, regarding this post, the game has received a subtle update that will add some goosebumps to your arms. This may be a little brutal to newcomers but veterans will get a spook from it too I hope. I may need to tweak it later when more people play, but for now, go ahead and wander around. Give the game another go. If for no other reason, it is now the season.
A vicious spirit has been released to haunt those who travel the lands of Aramor. Be careful not to wander too long.
Feedback will be appreciated. I was a bit hesitant about adding it in Disturbed Beyond Aramor, but for some reason, it found its way here instead. heartpiece

After a long period of silence, a new game is breaking the 'Disturbed' mold. Still early in the works, Corona Sector will be launching on Early Access early September. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1392000/Corona_Sector/

It has been a long time since I have last posted. Right now a new game is in the works - being designed first for mobile market and then PC release.
Think Binding of Isaac combined with animals. I hope to launch a Kickstarter in the near future once I have more to share - most likely when I have a mobile demo that can be played for free. (that is the plan right now)
Regarding the Disturbed Series... Disturbed Beyond Aramor sits at 5 reviews and is $5. Taking account of the return from investment, I will not be doing anymore 'Disturbed' content. I will continue to post announcements here, but if you are interested in future projects/releases, please follow me through Steam and/or follow my Facebook page. Thank you. theskull

What's New?
- Disturbed has been updated with animated images that are 1280x720. - New music and additional sounds have been added. - Engine has been updated Something to note: Old saved games can still be loaded but you will get an error about a missing variable when going upstairs in the tower. This is due to a variable not being present in the original game. It is recommended to start over and use new saves. Another issue was found in listing the translations. The translation should adjust to the language set on Steam. If you discover any errors, please post them on the discussion board.
7 Day T-shirt Campaign
I thought it would be interesting to see if there was a demand for some merchandise. This is something a couple people have asked for, so I figured why not try it. If there is something I should add or change, please let me know. Time is limited! https://teespring.com/stores/iblackpens-disturbed Thank you for your support. ːwarhorseː

I thought I'd make a post to share some updates over the past week or so.
Website updated
I took some time to set up a brief information page for both Disturbed games. Added download links for a couple press images at the bottom of their pages. This is something I should have had set up a long time ago, but better late than never I suppose.
New account on ArtStation
I created an account on ArtStation and will be doing more 3d/texture work on there. For those interested, feel free to check it out. I'll have more things on there as time goes, but I thought it would be good to announce it here.
Disturbed
An updated version of the game is still in the works. Right now the images are being updated for the new engine. More updates to come regarding this.
Future Projects
I've had an itching for 3d work and have been spending more time working on personal projects. Also, I've been experimenting with game maker prototypes. Nothing solid yet, but if you want to keep up-to-date, please check out my social media.

Now that Disturbed: Beyond Aramor is out, it is time to update the game that started it all.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/617620/Disturbed_Beyond_Aramor/
Due to the outdated version of the engine Disturbed runs on, players have had problems playing the Linux version of the game. This updated version should fix this problem, while also breathing some life back into the game with updated visuals. Progress has only just begun, but hopefully within the next month or two, this update will be ready and available for all to enjoy. More updates to come! ːdba_Sacredː

There is so much that I want to share, but doing it in a post like this, it's hard to get the message across. The creation of this game has been quite a journey, and even now, there are a lot of kinks to work out before the game is ready for the public to see... But I'm optimistic! Sometime I'll have to make a documentary or something, but for now, I just wanted to inform everyone that May 18th is the intended release date. Follow and wishlist the game if you haven't already. It's going to be good!
That being said, I hope to be a bit more active on the announcements and being transparent. Even after the game release, I hope to improve and make adjustments where needed. 'Disturbed' still needs a Linux fix, so I'll be working on that soon. I need to sit down and improve my website too, so that's another thing. There will always be something left to work on I guess. As mentioned above, I'd like to get a documentary out there of the creation process of Disturbed: Beyond Aramor.
I look forward to sharing more with everyone soon. Thanks. ːwarhorseː

I want to take a moment to make a post regarding the state of Disturbed 2. How things are going, the release date is looking to be in March. I hope to have a solid date by February. As of things right now, the game's story is undergoing refinements and testing. Much of the artwork still needs to be animated, but I hope that this can all be done and polished by the end of February. It is exciting to have things come together, and it will be really interesting to see how people will handle it.
I had very high ambitions at the start of this project and I didn't really know what I was doing. I didn't want to replicate the same Disturbed experience without adding to it, so I let my imagination go wild... and it kinda took over. I went through several story changes and as I wrote, I kept adding to it. I realize now, looking back, how important it is to set parameters and to keep things simple. I feel I wasted a lot of time experimenting with things when I should have focused my time elsewhere. The reason I share this is that the advertised story and gameplay is a little different than I was hoping for. Over the next couple weeks, I plan on having the store page updated with new (and better) screenshots and descriptions that will be more accurate. Regarding the translations for the game, these may be delayed depending on how things go. Due to the project taking way longer than planned, I can't make any guarantees.
I want to thank those who have encouraged me to keep going, along with those who have bought the 'support dlc'. I appreciate the time people have taken to review Disturbed and to share their thoughts. My goal with this next game is to embrace the experience of adventure with a heavy emphasis on exploring the environment. Stay tuned for more updates as the game comes closer to completion.
Thank you. ːwarhorseː

The Journey Continues
It has been roughly half a year since Disturbed 1 released on steam. A lot has happened since then! With all the English refinements, 8 languages have been added to the game - with more still on the way. Disturbed also got a DLC for those who want keep the game in their library after uninstalling. Also to add, the iblackpen website has been updated to a more pleasing aesthetic. With all this, the adventure will not be ending here! ːwarhorseː

I've had a bad habit of keeping quiet these past couple months. I do think it is good to be a little transparent - not too much, but enough to let people know that stuff is happening. ːwarhorseː
Here is coming within the next few weeks!
Updated Website The new site should be up by 2/24. Disturbed Supporter DLC Although this won't add to the game, it has been requested many times over the past few months to offer it. This will be added within the first week of March. Disturbed 2 Announcement The development of the sequel is going well. I am reaching a point where I can prepare something like a Greenlight campaign. With Steam's announcement regarding Greenlight, I see little harm in putting the game up anyways. My goal is to have things ready and up by March 12th at the latest.

This is just an update on what I am up to right now, and the state of Disturbed and Disturbed 2.
Disturbed
So a couple weeks back I tried to get a DLC for trading cards lined up for Disturbed, and it got approved - but after a chat with steam, it would be an inefficient way of getting trading cards to those interested (charging a $1 or so for the DLC). This being said, I'm not sure trading cards will ever be available for Disturbed, unless there is 3 or so DLC for it that people would buy, then trading cards would be a more realistic feature to add. So, I'm not sure if I should just leave Disturbed alone and work on a 2nd one (which I will talk about below), or if I should work on small individual adventures and release them as DLC? I have created a new forum for game design. Yes, I can read the reviews for the game, and I have been doing that. This can be an opportunity for people to be more involved.
Disturbed 2
I have been spending a lot of time developing a storyboard and the direction for this game. Right away, this project is more ambitious with a clear story, characters, and minor combat system. Deaths are more logical consequences, and the game will be more focused on a story rather than living through the metaphor Disturbed was based on. The art style will be similar however, and if you are looking for death, you will surely find it haha. In short, it will be a much longer and involved game. (At least, that is the idea) More details will be on the Distubed forum under game design.
iBlackPen
For those who know me a bit, I am attending college and am hoping to wrap up a web design major hopefully within the next year. It has been keeping me busy, but I'm trying to devote a fair amount of time to the development of Disturbed. Also, the iblackpen website has plans for revisions. For those of you celebrating Thanksgiving, be safe while traveling/etc.ːwarhorseː Thanks for reading.

🕹️ Partial Controller Support
- Disturbed - Support DLC
Play as a farmer who struggles to manage a failing farm. You come to a point where there is no more hope, and you must do something. You figure that you will die and it is just a matter of how and where. What difference is there to make? What can a simple farmer do? Only you can answer these questions.
Disturbed is powered by the Ren'py Engine, using default settings which help aid the game's atmosphere. Visuals are 800x600 resolution by default, something that may not happen again for future games.
Disturbed includes various puzzles in which the player needs to obtain items and use them at specific places. There is no inventory system however, which makes this experience unique. Because of this, areas and objects react differently depending on whether the player has a specific item or not. This also happens for some of the conversations in the game.
