Hello everyone!
Coldwild Games is happy to announce a direct sequel to Lazy Galaxy game, called, *drumroll*, Lazy Galaxy 2. Yup, you've heard it right. We've taken the name of the first game and added "2" besides it.
You can check it out here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1477950/Lazy_Galaxy_2/
What can you expect from it? Glad you asked!
Lazy Galaxy 2 is an idle/clicker game with base-building and RTS elements. Lead an evil (albeit lazy) alien race to conquer the universe! Expand your base, fight vicious foes, and conquer the galaxies. Acquire combat experience and convert into candy, the most precious alien resource!
It tries to expand upon Lazy Galaxy 1 formula by adding maps/spatial conquest, paired with pre-built player campaigns and greatly enhanced basebuilding system. You don't even need to play the first game to enjoy it.
Lazy Galaxy 2 is a game that you can run minimized while watching your favourite Netflix show. Build the base, check out the universe map and send your fleets to start the conquest. No micro-transactions are planned, the game is a single-player premium, pay-once, keep-clicking-forever title.
Wishlist the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1477950/Lazy_Galaxy_2/
On January 26, 2016, Coldwild Games has gained an official registered company status.

Hey everyone! Steam is rolling out the new developer feature :) Basically this is also going to be the page that lists our games. I'm not removing the other game reviews, but I'm waiting for Steam to customize the lists better (otherwise it gets a bit confusing). Meanwhile, feel free to check out the updated Lazy Galaxy: Rebel Story page. I've recently updated it with the new screenshots and the gameplay is getting much more crazier. :) https://store.steampowered.com/app/533050/Lazy_Galaxy_Rebel_Story/
Translation by KSS! Hoping to bring it to as many languages as possible so that more people will be able to enjoy it :) If you want to help out by translating the game into your own language, let me know in the comments!
Best,
Vladimir
Hey everyone!
Great news! We're working on a new game in Lazy Galaxy universe.
Here's the steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/533050/Lazy_Galaxy_Rebel_Story/
It's going to be a shoot-em-up roguelite, where you take the other side of the conflict and try to destroy O'Xelg base.
An old robot named H-34-RT wakes up in a derelict space station orbiting his home planet. His civilization was destroyed long ago by evil O'Xelg, but he has yet to figure that out. After an initial shock, he decides to follow his old defense routines: that means fighting the invaders, even if he is alone now.
The idea is that you control a fleet of up to 3 fighters rather than one, this will allow you to switch formations to better avoid enemy fire or focus yours.
The game will feature rogue-lite systems (you'll pick the permanent bonuses that boost your ship during the walkthrough) and multiple possible weapons that you can pick during the level.
Apart from that: we're still going to support this one, in fact there's a small patch coming out next week. :)
Stay tuned for more news!
Best,
Vladimir
Hey everyone!
As of today, the trading cards are available in the game :) If you've played the game before - they should appear in your inventory automatically. Expect a major announcement next week.
Happy playing!
Best,
Vladimir
Hey everyone, after a month of work, we are happy to bring you the next game update.
Most major thing: Korean Translation mod by player Skynet, built-in into the game. You can now play the game in Korean language! :)
Apart from that, the game has the following changes:
- Cooking Queue
- Double Craft at once
- Repeat Craft
- Tortoise Supportive heal based on percentage
- Galaxy Conqueror upgrade adjusts the infinite combat max level according to formula: 20 * star systems conquered * (galaxies conquered + dimension number). Should make the late-game much less repetitive and you won't have to cross first hundreds of levels again
- Updated game fonts: should be a bit more readable + added French characters (who knows what might happen? ;)
As usual - if you have any comments or suggestions, you can join our discord chat or write them here.
Happy playing!
Best,
Vladimir
Hey everyone! After reading forums / discord chat, I understood that we need to improve the crafting system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKRu5nI1EAw There are two ways this is going to happen: 1) crafting queue 2) simultaneous crafting 3) "repeat last craft" Here's the video where I talk about it / show how it works :) + there's a small surprise towards the end. Expect this patch on Thursday, this or next week. Best, Vladimir
Hey everyone! Here's a small vid outlining what will happen within the next two weeks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMsl2pBeyiA We want to make your gaming experience smoother, so the small patch will be out to tune some things, thanks for letting us know! One awesome person volunteered to see if it's possible to translate the game into French language; if anyone else is willing to help others enjoy the game in their own language (by helping us with translation into your native language) - that will help greatly :) Just let me know here and I'll write the instructions (it's a simple text file with lines). Thanks for your support so far and thanks for playing the game! Best, Vladimir

Hey everyone! Thanks for your feedback so far :) Based on your comments, here are the list of changes: - window can be resized (the cursor won't change for now, but if you place it on borders of the window / top left corner and then drag it - the window will resize) - mods: drops_from tag added for supply boxes [the supply box can now drop from other supply boxes] - increased the max general level (from 50 to 150) - space engineer legacy, every sixth ship you buy is discounted by 99% rather than giving it for free - byproduct upgrade typo fix - if you sold your living quarters and had a ship on auto-build (which will now be impossible to build due to a lack of specimen) - the ship display is going to stay so you can remove the auto-building Thanks for playing and keep that feedback coming! Cheers, Vladimir

Great news! After multiple patches, addition of mods, items, crafting, star system conquest and new game+ modes, Lazy Galaxy goes into full release, together with its final big content patch!
- Clans: similar to guilds, you can only select one. There are three guilds now: space engineers, warrior's league, brotherhood of relics. In addition to bonuses, the clans have their own drawbacks. You can combine them with guilds to see what works best!
- Space Engineers focus on quality ship building and item crafting. They provide boosts for tier 2 buildings.
- Brotherhood of Relics offers increased relic productivity and moves a limit on building multiple relics, but it comes at a cost of spaceport.
- Warrior's League focuses on combat, offering big boosts to ship health and damage but sacrificing scientific gains in the process.
- Cooking: Can SHIFT+CLICK on an item to add up to 3 items from the same item stack - Cooking: Added recipe book of items, that you discovered/crafted - Cooking: Can select recipe to use ingredients of the highest possible level - Cooking: Space Oven levels have a bigger effect on crafting speed - Modding: Added ability to add your own supply boxes for your items - General battle rewards will be automatically collected when jumping to next stars/galaxies - Generals can be bought right after new game+ (if you can afford 'em) - Item bonuses' summary will be now formatted according to notation settings - Options: Keep building mode ON after placing a building, so you don't have to click "Build" button again - Options: Start each space battle with open ship panels, that are closed, once battle starts - Options: Screen Shake slider - Options: Some of the options can now be changed during space battle - Bugfix: Cooking timer will show after a timeout, if inventory is resorted (or lootboxes opened) after starting a craft, but before the timer shows up - Bugfix: Custom fleets and generals should be available in first galaxy after starting new game+ - Bugfix: Offline progress will be properly calculated when returning from Mod menu - Bugfix: Fixed FPS limiting option; it now should limit FPS properly (when minimized) - Bugfix: Fixed the number of exp required for next candy - Balance: increased space oven efficiency by 40% when it comes to calculating crafting speed - Balance: scavenger starport bonus decreased from 10% per level to 5% - Music: Two new tracks, one for battle, one for base I think this concludes the large content updates for the game. From now on, we're moving to bugfixing mode :) Our plans might change because of the release. Thanks for supporting us through the early access and if you want to continue getting news from us (once in two-three months) - sign up for our newsletter here. Hey everyone! Since only five days are left before the release, I wanted to give a brief overview of what's happening with Lazy Galaxy development and what can you expect with the release patch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH1sTd_XqYk Basically the patch adds ui/ux changes, but there will also be three new late(r)-game guilds. If you can - please spread the word about the game on Mar 22 (reddit/twitter/facebook). Don't forget to join our discord or comment here if you have any questions! :) Cheers, Vladimir

Hey! As reported by a lot of you, using generals on a missions did not update the task window (thus conquered points remained unchanged and prevented the jump). The hotfix addresses the issue, as well as removed limitations on displaying ship costs past the second galaxy. (basically you'll see all ships at starport even if you don't have enough money to buy them). Let me know if something else comes up and we'll try to fix it ASAP. Thank you for playing! Cheers, Vladimir
Hey everyone! At last, we are ready to publish the latest Lazy Galaxy changes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmpZWaxaeOw
General and automatic combat
First of all, we're super excited to introduce the new general system!
After conquering two galaxies, you will be able to send the general to fight in your place. As usual, build your fleet, click on the point that you want to conquer, but this time there will be a choice that allows to send the general instead of you. Your ship is taken away to power the general army, you stay on your base screen while general fights and gathers rewards. You can then collect by simply clicking the reward button on star map!
Mod Support
After that - there's a ship modding support, which essentially allows you to add custom ships to the game :) Set up your weapons / hulls / prices and put your own sci-fi ships into the game! You can find out more in our wiki.
Release Date
Finally, this marks the last serious content patch. We're going to release the game on March 22, and during these two weeks before release we'll be doing more polishing / ui improvements and minor feature adjustments. If you like the game - please leave a positive review, those things really help during release. Even one or two lines tremendously help the game get noticed.
Full changelog
- After conquering your first galaxy, you will be able to pick your own fleet with each jump! If you are not fighting - you can send out your general to do the job for you.
- Modding: Ship validation & submission
- Modding: Tags will be automatically assigned to mods based on contents when uploading/updating
- Modding: You can now write change log for your mod updates inside the game
- Modding: You can choose not to update mod description, when submitting an update. That's in case if you had a good description that you wrote outside the game (e.g. in steam client)
- Added setting to disable/enable damage text in battles (better performance? no promises?)
- Fixed bug that used wrong items after sorting
Thanks for being awesome and as usual, if you have any questions - do join our discord channel!
Hey everyone!
1.4 patch is here! Not much QA/UX changes, the patch focuses on adding mod support, allowing you to make custom items!
Full change list:
- Mod Support
- Inventory: Sort Items By Level
- Inventory: Sort Items By Name
- Inventory: Open All Boxes
- Bugfix: if you have 0 species - they won't click on asteroids, even if you have genetic auto-clicker upgrade
- Trying to address the slowdown issue (improved pooling, tell us if it helps!)
Hey everyone! We've baked a new patch!
Coldwild Games is happy to bring you the next major patch in our early access series :)
This time we're adding an item / crafting system and various optimizations. Let's start from the crafting.
We got a new building!
It's called "Space Oven." It's used for cooking awesome stuff. You can upgrade it to cook even faster, but it's quite costly (both in upgrade price and energy consumption). Finally, you can click on it or on your inventory button to start the crafting process. The Space Oven becomes available on third star system.
The cooking process itself
The cooking works in two ways: first, you can combine three similar items to get a stronger one OR you can try combining three different items to see. The recipes are left for you to discover, but we might make a wiki later on :) There are total 28 new items in this patch. Those items give you permanent boosts that affect your building production, ship damage and strength, offline production, species growth and battle rewards.
Inventory Screen
Balance
Thanks to your feedback, we know that increasing the amout of star systems to beat the galaxy made the game feel grindy. Now each galaxy has 5 systems that needs to be conquered, but the enemies encountered will be considerably tougher (base level grows). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuNcBq53H0U
User Experience
A lot of effort went into improving the user experience. Bullet / damage text were optimized to work much faster, so your average performance should improve greatly. The statistics window has also been added to show your progress / total numbers in the game. We've also received a lot of reports on occasional crashes. We're sorry that they were happening: we've analyzed them and those seem to be results of internal workings of unity engine (to which we don't have any access). We've updated the unity version and the crashes did not occur on our side anymore, but let us know if this continues to happen and we'll be monitoring the situation closely.
Full patch notes
- New Building: Space Oven, allows you to craft the items! Becomes available in third galaxy
- Crafting system: combine 3 same items to get improved item or experiment with combining the items together!
- 28 new items added
- Asteroid Map Points grant supply boxes upon completing; player can pick one item from them to boost his stats
- Sabre Weapon Damage Type changed to heat
- Made Trader offline bonus stack multiplicatively with the rest production bonuses
- Statistics Window
- Fixed Player Damage/HP multipliers: they no longer apply to enemy ships
- Galaxy Jumps now award candy too
- Fixed wrong discount that was applied to ship ugrades from blessings
- Candy amount gained from candy boxes in space battles is scaled with the current level of an encounter
- Candy is formatted like any other resouce
- Candy tooltip is updated every second when moused over
- Ship health bar dissappears, when ship gets destroyed or ship's health reaches 0
- Frame limiting option in background mode
- Performance impact of damage text in battles is reduced
- Bullet/projectile instantiation rework, should improve performance / memory handling
Thanks for your support!
We appreciate all the feedback that you send us in :) The next patch will work on mod support; If you encounter any errors - please let us know in discussion forums or join our discord channel!
Hey everyone! Due to the big scope of the task, there won't be a patch this week. We simply want to work out the item system completely before pushing it to live version. We do have a more detailed overview on how items are going to work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkQgRlz_AOk To make it short: - You will be able to get supply crates from the battles. From these supply crates, you will be able to select one item of your choice (the item that you need the most) - Combining three items of same level produces more powerful item of the next level - There are some hidden recipes that you can try and figure out by experimenting with item combinations :) Cheers and we're really excited to bring you the item system next week. Vladimir
Hey everone! No patch this week, but just a heads up on what's going on and what you can expect next week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IUK0peBTy0&feature=youtu.be Basically, we're working hard on eliminating crashes / improving performance, as well as introducing item system to make your late-game more exciting. Let us know if you have any questions :) Cheers, Vladimir
We are aware that some save files could have been corrupted after patch and there's a hotfix for that (you are safe to launch the game now - it shouldn't happen anymore). However, you'll need to manually do the following things to restore your save if it crashed before: To restore your save on windows: [olist]
Hey everyone! You've mentioned the resource gain slowing down later on in the game, as well as the need for hard-reset mechanics (lose all the candy, gain cool bonus). Well, we're happy to say that this patch starts addressing those comments. New Game+ mode is going to be there for hardcore players, while simple game ending will give you a chance to complete the universal conquest :) Here's the video of me explaining the changes and the reasoning behind them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UQ4EPuDEF4
- New Game+ mode (you can actually complete the game now!), which allows you to reset your progress and gain a permanent powerful boost (they stack if you complete the game multiple times!)
- Ship Selection is saved across battles
- AutoPurchase Reworked: can now arrange the specific number of ships purchased
- Galactic Map introduced (shown between galactic jumps, informative screen that adds importance to this process)
- Building Multipliers introduced: special researches that multiply total building production by a constant number
Obviously, this is quite a big patch, and even though we've tested it extensively - some issues might arise. I'm here to address them ASAP, should you notice something wrong. Hello, Previous patch reduced the boss rewards too much. This one increases the boss rewards by 100 times. We know that current situation in the game does not leave you with much options past ~first 100 hours of play and we're going to address this ASAP in the next patch by adding more content. Thanks for your patience and reporting this to us. Cheers, Vladimir
Hey! It has became apparent (thanks to many reports) that the current scavenger balancing is a big problem, as it grows too fast from enemy costs. Unfortunately, this often made the late-game past 90hours unplayable (because it reached numbers over the limit) due to HUGE numbers accumulating. There's no way I can fix this without hurting your resources, but I'm trying to do it in the mildest way possible. Therefore, here are the changes for this quick patch:
-
- Scavenger upgrades give fixed incomes (sorry, capping the previous resource amounts to E50, because the resource gathering got waaay out of hand)
- Reduced Tasty Conquest upgrade costs (was impossible to get with normal resource gains)
- Destroying enemy ships give you basic reward of 20 metal and 15 fuel per destroyed ship level
Hey! We've been getting a lot of feedback from you guys since our 1.1.0 patch so we wanted to act on it as soon as possible. This patch introduces 17 new achievements and upgrades (a lot of them aimed at your own combat ship improvements), as well as improving ui / balance. Here's the video of me explaining what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JVDsbWbFFg The full list of changes:
- Starry Background rework / warp adjustments - this should probalbly fix the crashing in late game
- Ship health / attack bonus from planets works properly
- New Genetics Window - should be much more intuitive for newer players
- Huge number fixes (the game won't crash / hang when the number exceeds e308)
- Achievement button notifications are properly displayed now
- Boss Rewards Decreased
- Ship Info panel shows values after upgrade; ship purchase button also shows price post-upgrade
- Max planet upgrade level is capped to 800
- Map Improvements: conquest progress is shown on star map; conquered planets are easily distinguishable
- New building upgrade panel
- 17 new achievements (ranging from early to late game)
- 17 new upgrades
- Asteroids have bosses every 15 levels
- AutoHeal genetic upgrade added (battle heals are picked automatically every 3 seconds)
- Experimental: Candy affects resource gain (exp, metal, fuel) from enemies in battle
Hey everyone! Bringing some happy news before New Year, out first big patch is going live! Check out the devlog if you want to know the reasoning behind the changes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPowUnDqabo
Full change-log:
- Star Map added! You'll have to conquer all points on starmap before you can progress further.
- Star Map planets can be upgraded into three types: breeding (gives bonus to specimen growth), military (ship strength increase), supply (resource gain percentage boost)
- Star Map Planets can also be upgraded if you spend metal on them, this will increase their efficiency
- Star Map: infinite combat point on right bottom corner offers the way to fight enemies infinitely
- Balancing: reduced enemy difficulty: not it will scale at a much slower rate (i.e. level 300 had 3000 summed up enemy ship level (~each ship would be level 375), now it will have 2500 (each ship will be level ~312))
- E notation added (can be toggled in gameplay settings);
- added mass-upgrade tooltips to upgrade building / ships
- fixed a bug when cannons were not being properly displayed above ship
- ship list in hangar shows ship level + dismiss ship button (without sending into battle and retreating lots of times)
- bugfix: if you upgraded ship and it will cost _lots_ of money: the ship won't disappear from your starport anymore
- galaxy walker updated: gets %x percent bonus per max enemy level in infinite combat mode
- added downgrade button (can downgrade the ships in case they got too expensive)
- highlights added to ship purchase panel, should give better ui feel
- after conquering a point on star map, you can return your ships back home
- hotkeys added: B to enter / exit build mode; Tab to show / hide current objective
- new upgrade: jumper - allows you to "time warp", essentially restarting the game without advancing to next solar system. You get accumulated candy from experience (but not completion bonus candy). Useful if you want to stall or if you are stuck and want to do a soft restart.
- new upgrade: weird patterns - get 2% exp income for every conquered point on star map
- galaxy conqueror steam achievement should be working now
- found and fixed one of the potential causes why game could have been crashing occasionally during auto-purchase if it stayed on long enough
Hey everyone!
First full week of early access is coming to an end, but we already have enough feedback to keep us going for a few months :) Keep it up everyone, we love hearing from you. Here's the video where I sum up everything that we're working on and will hopefully be available before New Year.

Happy Holidays and let us know your comments / feedback!

Hey everyone! Judging by feedback so far, I've decided to adjust the ship balance (reducing enemy damage a bit, while buffing the bosses in later game). This patch introduces ship damage: ship weapons have a type now, and that type deals different damage to different types of armor. You will be able to check its description in the ship info panel. This shouldn't disturb late-game idle gameplay too much, but the strategic gameplay at the beginning of the game should make the game feel fairer and allow players to find right ship combinations to deal with specific enemy (mostly boss) threats. I'm also tackling the different bug reports. Without further ado, here goes the list:
- steam achievements for the amount of bosses killed should work now
- adjusted enemy dreadnought rocket launcher position
- graphics: slightly randomized laser hit position (they don't hit enemy center only anymore)
- damage types: weapons perform differently vs different kinds of armor
- reduced the size of damage text (since there's so much of it)
- bosses are not going to collide into you and instantly take out one of your ships
- friagtes are going to be stronger (increased bullet damage by 50%, laser damage by 100%)
- dreadnoughts are going to be weaker (decreased rocket damage by 50%)
- fixed the bug when intergalactic cannon appeared only after finishing the first star system of any galaxy (should now appear when you clear the second star system for the first time)
- ship info panel will now show limited info on ship weapons: the weapon type (you'll see the stats if you hover on it) and the dps
- showing ability hotkey near ability name in combat
- showing simple tooltip when hovering on ship selection panel in combat
- can open enemy / friendly ship info by right-clicking on ship selection panel
Thank you for playing and keep being awesome! Let me know if you have any other comments.
Cheers,
Vladimir
Hey everyone! Thanks for being awesome and for your support so far. Here's a 4 minute video outlining what's happening now and what to expect within the few next weeks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVSYCBfetnI In addition to that, I'm pushing another small patch, followed by a few fixes:
- z-order fix: buildings won't 'fall behind' after new one has been built in the place of demolished building
- species won't click on dead meteors
- upgrade tooltip fix
Hey everyone, Thanks to your feedback, I understand that there are later-game balancing issues + some unexpected crashes (with no progress being saved). That sucks and I'm tryint go address it as fast as I can. Here's what I changed with this patch:
- AutoSaves every 2 minutes
- Balancing: increased player ship hp; this is a start of a larger balancing fix (it's clear that late-game needs a rebalance): right now the 25-level-health-multiplier increased to 2, enemy 25-level-damage multipliers are also getting closer to 2 (reduced dramatically from 3 and 4). I will keep adjusting the values accordingly. The next bi-weekly patch will mostly focus on balance.
- As a temporary solution, the buildings affected by "Base Clicker" spawn small "red lightning" particles to indicate that they are currently affected
- "Purchased All Available Upgrades" won't lag so much anymore
- Base clicker description fix: works for 20 seconds instead of 10 seconds (I don't want you to be clicking on this stuff to death, people)
- Ship Level is shown in hangar (but no "dismiss" button yet - work in progress).
The amounts of feedback so far has been overwhelming. Keep it coming! :) I'm addressing most popular requests / bugfixes. Here's the full patch:
- affordable researches are better visible
- meteor click amount increases the more you click on it (it's much more profitable to fully destroy asteroids with clicking)
- candy dropped from the bosses are now properly counted towards achievements
- ui: fixed negative exp bug (negative amounts of exp necessary to gain candy)
- ship deaths should be a bit prettier now: heavily damaged ships spawn small explosions around them
- ship deaths: if ship speed is < 250, it gradually stops instead of speeding up like before. should reduce the deaths from bosses
- balance: sabre ship base speed buff (240 -> 260)
- ui: build button tooltip fixed (does not mention 'razing' anymore)
Hi everyone! I got a few reports about ships not being destroyed properly, although I could not replicate it, it's a serious issue that I'm trying to address. This patch should hopefully fix the problems with "zombie" ships. Changes:
- Fixed some cases when ships were not properly exploding after destruction (and continued fighting for you)
- "Too Advanced" upgrade has the proper bonus description now (it gives 25% to advanced building production)
- Galaxy Walker achievement description changed
- Laboratory Button stays in place when you build a second lab
- AutoLaunch icon does not appear unless the relevant genetics are unlocked
We're happy to say that Lazy Galaxy is finally out in Early Access!

Hey everyone,
This is going to be the last devlog before our December 15th release, so it's going to be brief (but still important!):
I've worked on the auto-purchase function this week, allowing playerss to go into even more idling (if they want to). One can set the ship on auto-purchase and go afk. The game will purchase the selected ship type automatically and launch them to space! How cool is that?
Here's the video showing this functionality:

Let me know what you think :)

Vladimir
Hey everyone!
This week was spent on polishing / making the game prettier. We're working on improving UI and spreading the news about the game!
Changes:
- Balancing: early-game bosses have been made weaker; felt like a wall before and was not really proportional to other enemy types encountered
- UI: New upgrade panel, should be much prettier
- Players can now toggle ship outlines to better recognize the ships in-game
- Settings panel available from battle
More details:

Only 12 days before release, we're really excited about that!
Hey everyone! This week has been pretty productive: I've done working on Linux / Mac testing, and everything seems to be working!
Here are some other significant changes:

Hey everyone!
This week has been spent working on late-game content. As soon as you gather good amounts of candy, you will be given access to "genetics." Those are late-game upgrades that increase the productivity of your specimen (making your population grow fast!) and the effectiveness of production (speed up your factories even further!), there are also two game-changing genetic upgrades that will greatly improve the resource gain rate in the early stages of new galaxy conquests.
We've also worked on making player ships a bit more distinguishable in battles. Still working on the best way to do this, but for now we offer this chevron solution that shows a small icon by your ships.
Only four weeks until release are left, and we're sure going to do our best to bring you the game you're all expecting.
Cheers,
Vladimir
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm-HMHJdgBE Hey everyone! Another week spent on preparing the game for release! This week was spent on: [olist]
Hey! :) I've been doing the devlogs on my personal youtube channel, but since the Steam page went live - I think it's a good idea if I describe what has been done recently to keep you all updated! This week was mostly spent polishing / balancing the battles. There were new ability animations, but the biggest achievement this week was actually figuring out the solution on how the battles should work. The thing is: the battles were very short, which is great if you are looking mostly for idle experience, but they felt a bit awkward if you were looking for tactical experience where you'd heal, use abilities, evade projectiles. There's not much tactics if shot exchange instantly ends within 2 seconds with most of the ships dead. To fix that: I've added a special value that determines if player wants to fight longer or have more of an idle experience. It's a simple slider in settings, all that it does is multiplies the hp of BOTH sides by a selected value from 1 to 5. Since the damage remains the same, the battles can become significantly longer, where skill will matter much more: the more projectiles you will dodge, the more health boxes you will be able to collect and prolong your starfighting experience. Here's the further video with explanation if you want to see how it works in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_q_BTdx-Kg Thanks for reading and stay tuned for weekly updates (and, of course, the release on Dec 15 :) Cheers, Vladimir
