To our players, This post is to serve as notice that Infinium Strike is to be retired and de-listed from the Steam Marketplace. To those who have Infinium Strike in their library, dont worry you will retain access and be able to reinstall the title indefinitely, so long as it remains an entry in your Steam Library. This was a labor of love for everyone at Codex Worlds and served as the first credited and released title for many of us on the development team. We were beyond proud to put this out and to share it with all of you. However, all good things must come to an end, and Codex Worlds is officially closing its doors, necessitating this retirement. Steam Achievements

Hello Commanders! We have received a number of renewed reports recently that some of your Achievements are only unlocking in-game, not on Steam. While we previously thought this was an isolated bug related to offline-mode, we have now been able to replicate this issue in our own testing. We will be re-working the way in which the game relays information from your player profile to our partner services (including Steam). We are terribly sorry about the inconvenience caused to those of you experiencing this issue. We know that Steam Achievements are an important part of the platform, and will be working diligently to restore this feature to all players as soon as possible. Please keep an eye out on this space, as we will post another announcement when Steam Achievements have been restored. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. Happy Wrog Hunting!

Fall Update

Greetings Commanders, 2016 has been a very exciting year for Codex Worlds. This past week, Infinium Strike was featured at the #8 spot in Gameranx’s Top 10 Tower Defense Games of 2016. Be sure to check out the full video here. Following the July release of Infinium Strike on PC worldwide, the development team has been hard at work on what’s next for the game. Our first DLC, Infinium Strike: Broken Overlord is in the early development process, releasing in 2017. Until then, here is the teaser trailer for Infinium Strike: Broken Overlord. Along with the DLC, the development team has been working on the ports for Infinium Strike on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Console versions will also release in 2017. Finally, we are deep into development of our next title, Battlecursed, a Rogue-style Action RPG. Top Terran Space Force scientists and engineers have worked tirelessly to dissect and harness the technology of the Wrog menace, and it’s with great pride today we announce we have succeeded! Mankind has maximized the power of Infinium, a metalloid with extraordinary capabilities. By salvaging the remains of destroyed Wrog vessels, we have a near limitless supply of Infinium, allowing us to fight back in ways we’ve never before thought possible. Critical May Developer Update

CRITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT: All save game data will be wiped with the latest update due to improvements that have been made to the method the game client uses to save your profile data. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our Beta testers and Kickstarter backers. With the recent announcement of a July 14 release date for Infinium Strike, we are also pleased to announce that we will be offering the game in 7 languages at launch: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. All of us at Codex Worlds and our publishing partners at 1C Company are extremely excited to launch Infinium Strike worldwide less than 2 months from today! Over the past couple of months, our testers and development team have been hard at work squashing bugs. Here is a list of recent updates and fixes: Tweaked audio cues and feedback from player inputs

  • AI now says “Infinium Needed” when you can’t afford to upgrade turrets
  • Launch screen now correctly plays background music
  • Certain audio elements no longer play when sound is off in the options menu
Various controller tweaks and bug fixes
  • In-game codex can now be navigated with a controller
  • Controller layouts now properly display mappings in the options menu
  • Choice of Type A or Type B controller scheme is now saved to player profile
  • When using a controller, all UI elements now display as they should
  • The D-pad should now work properly for selecting menu items
  • Tweaked various menu items to require confirmation when using a controller
  • Selection icons should now disappear as intended when leaving turret selection
Tweaks to animations and effects
  • Added animation to the button used for selling turrets
  • Decals, skins, and themes should now apply properly to Freedom Strike
  • Tweaked the Warp Turret animation to be less visually distracting
Mission tweaks and bug fixes
  • Fixed typos in various objective text
  • Mission 7 should no longer fail to register objectives for victory

After PAX South

First, we would like to say “THANK YOU!” to everyone who organized, volunteered, and attended PAX South in San Antonio this past weekend. Our visionary Creative Director, Dexter Chow, and brilliant Concept Artist, Chris Rogers, did a phenomenal job manning the Infinium Strike booth throughout the weekend. We would also like to extend a special thanks to our friends and partners at Stride PR for their outstanding ability to get Infinium Strike seen and heard in a sea of competition. Who am I? My name is Steven. You will be hearing a lot from me in the coming months. I am your connection to the rest of the Codex Worlds team. I love to hear from all of our followers, players, and fans, so please engage with us on our social media pages, community forums, Steam discussion boards, or my personal email listed at the bottom of this post! Everyone has been hard at work over the past several weeks polishing gameplay, implementing player feedback, and preparing Infinium Strike for launch. Everyone has been hard at work over the past several weeks polishing gameplay, implementing player feedback, and preparing Infinium Strike for launch.   • Added new gameplay settings
  • - Enable permanent health bars
  • - Advanced camera - does not snap to turret bank when changing quadrants
  • - Enable permanent sector boundary lines
  • Tactical map now shows an icon for 25 seconds when a turret is evaporated
  • Tactical map now has a quadrant danger indicator
  • Quadrant buttons at the upper right hand corner of the UI now display color coded warning indicators progressing from yellow to orange to red based on the amount of damage taken
  • Complete overhaul, tweaks, and bug fixes for controllers

[11-4-2015] Developer Update

Hi all, Strategy game designs live or die by the balance of the game and of course, the fun factor. Remember the Zergling attacks in Starcraft that frustrated so many players trying to ward them off? They finally reduced the number of Zerglings from 3 to 2 after months of complaints. The Codex Team continues our quest to balance the game and get more feedback on the game from the public before we do a full release of the game in Q1 next year. We have two ways to get involved with the beta of Infinium Strike: 1. We have released a Free Open Beta on Steam. Simply download the Infinium Strike Demo and you will receive the Open Beta. It includes 4 campaign missions and full interactive tutorials on how to play the game. Storytelling, multiple difficulty levels, and the deep space arcade mode are not included. 2. We have opened up the Full Beta Access to anybody from our Infinium Strike Store. For $25, you get immediate access to the full game on Steam and when the game is released, the beta will automatically be updated to a full version. [10-19-15] Developer Update

Hello. It is time for an Infinium Strike update. We are still deep into beta. We've done several rounds of beta testing and game updates (that we update to Steam). Codex Worlds takes feedback seriously and we have decided to take a few more months to improve the product and include a more feature filled product when we release. In short, we are pushing the release date back to Q1 2016. We will be taking that time to further refine the product, including more beta feedback, as well as adding additional features like localized languages, more controller options, and much more music. So, when we release, Mac and Linux users can expect to get, fingers crossed, a simultaneous release and we expect to get several language versions as well including Russian, German, and Spanish. As you can probably imagine, the past couple of months have been a whirlwind at Codex Worlds. We have concluded a successful Kickstarter campaign, launched a continuing closed beta test, and made a marketing shift to describing Infinium Strike as a Tactical Starship Defense game. Through invaluable feedback from our closed beta testers, we have squashed bugs, implemented player requests, and are now well on our way to bringing you the best possible gaming experience that we can. Several Codex Worlds team members had a blast attending TwitchCon last weekend. If you missed us, have a Twitch streaming channel, and would like a chance to stream Infinium Strike before launch, please send an email to press@codexworlds.com! To all of our beta testers, here is a list of changes, bug fixes, and additions we have made over the past three weeks (in reverse chronological order): Sept. 28 •Added a supernova animation. •Added lights--including runway lights--to Freedom Strike. •Balanced all Commander missions based on beta feedback. •Reduced the difficulty on Mission 10. •Added new load screens graphics. •Added tips to load screens. Sept. 21 •Synced cutscene and mission briefing voiceovers. •Improved the texture quality on all turret banks. •Added a cinematic introduction. •Added an Infinium Strike splash screen. •Reduced the difficulty in Deep Space Arcade Mode. Sept. 14 •Applied various edits to Codex entries. •Balanced all Captain missions based on beta feedback. •Fixed a bug that prevented players from progressing past Mission 6. •Improved real-time lighting in all missions. Hi Everybody. I hope you enjoy our original take on the tower defense genre. We've added cinematic 3D and arcade style action to traditional lane TD management. My name is Dexter Chow, the creative director of Infinium Strike. I am a strategy game fanatic and have been producing strategy games for over 10 years at SSI, Mattel and Ubisoft. Infinium Strike Demo™ receives a major update with Kickstarter underway

AUSTIN, TX – July 22, 2015 – Independent game studio Codex Worlds™ announced a major update to the playable demo for Infinium Strike™, available on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/384670. The update brings a new level with an extended tutorial and more advanced gameplay, as well as various improvements based on player feedback. About the update, Creative Director Dexter Chow says, “Demo version 2.0 represents another major milestone for our company.
