This project represents a collaborative effort between Roomiz Games and the creators of "Children of Morta", ensuring a faithful and engaging adaptation of the video game.

Launching on Kickstarter in Spring 2024, Children of Morta: The Board Game can be played solo or with up to four players aged 12 years and up, and has a gameplay length of around 45 minutes per game. Bug-fixing patch just landed!

Hello Family!

A bugfix patch has just arrived in Children of Morta and here is a list of the fixed issues:


  • Fixed the crash or softlock that was occurring if Host player invited the Guest while Local Multiplayer session have been initiated before sending invites;
  • Fixed the issue with long/infinite "Fetching save" state;
  • Fixed the issue with black screen that could sometimes occur upon traversing to next floor/dungeon on Linux and Mac;
  • Fixed the issue where Pyro Blade had an incorrect effect;
  • Fixed the issue where Host player could have gotten stuck at home if exit confirmation prompt was active while the run was finished by the Guest player;
  • Fixed the issue with Yajouj'Majouj (DLC character) losing ability to deal damage;
  • Fixed the issue where tutorial texts appeared small due to in-game language change;
  • Fixed a few random infinite loading screens;
  • Fixed the issue where Linda's Rage effect persisted despite Rage bar being depleted;
  • Fixed the issue where Linda sometimes could not deal damage after her movement became corrupted;
  • Fixed the issue where Linda's movement became corrupted after stamina refill;
  • Fixed the issue where Linda's Crescendo may sometimes hit out of the Guest's screen;
  • Fixed the issue where players were able to go outside screen in Local Multiplayer (Remote Play);
  • Fixed the issue with SFX being looped upon completing certain side quests;
  • Fixed the issue where Host's skill points were visible for Guest player in Codex and Map tabs;
  • Fixed the issue where some talents form the previous run could have been brought to the next run in Family Trials;
  • Fixed the issue with Rage potions not being displayed on the mini-map for the Guest player;
  • Fixed the issue with some Runes missing icons in Codex;
  • Fixed the issue with health bar of escorts not being displayed in all Escort side quests;
  • Fixed the issue where the escorts needed to be interacted twice in order to work in all Escort side quests;
  • Fixed the issue with Ferocious Enemies counter displaying incorrect value for Guest player in Family Trials;
  • Fixed the issue with Shield of Valor's duration not being displayed in GUI for the Guest player;
  • Fixed a bunch of missing or incorrect Farsi (Persian) texts;
  • Fixed the issue with Shifting Power item that visually increased other bonus multipliers in GUI;
  • Fixed the issue where displayed rewards/progress towards rewards for Guest player were local and not the ones achieved during Online Multiplayer run in Host's session;
  • Smaller fixes and netcode improvements.


This is a version 1.3.155.3 by the way.

A hotfix landed right now fixing some online co-op issues!

Hello Family!

Just a moment ago a hotfix has been added to Children of Morta, fixing the set of bugs, just to make your online co-op play more smooth and enjoyable.

See this:


  • Fixed the issue where Mark's primary attacks stopped working
  • Fixed the issue with shield stacking to "broken" numbers
  • Fixed the issue with guest's/client's character movement being corrupted sometimes
  • Fixed the issue with unintended shield depleting visual effect
  • Fixed the issue where aim assist would not properly work when in offline mode
  • Fixed the issue with connecting players when being in character selection screen
  • Improved issues with character jittering when running close to certain objects


The hotfix has a number 1.3.145 if you want to keep things in order, like we do (sometimes).

Welcome to Online Co-op in the Fellowship Sanctuary update!

The day you all have been patiently waiting for has finally come. Today Children of Morta gets its most anticipated free update - the online co-op. Whats more - everyone willing to try it can now download the game for free on Steam for a limited time.

The heroic Bergson family began their epic journey with the launch of Children of Morta in September 2019, and the online co-op update marks the eighth and final stop on the games Development Roadmap. Previous updates introduced new difficulty levels, the Family Trails mode, a new playable character, and more. In addition, the Paws and Claws charity DLC helped raise thousands of dollars for Humane Society International. Now, the Online Co-op update is available for all players for free (note the console version is still in the works).



The introduction of an online co-op means that noble warriors from distant lands can fight side by side, and those brave enough to pick up against the Corruption can foretaste this adventure without any cost. If youre willing to invite to a co-op session a friend who doesnt have the game in his Steam library, then Children of Morta will be available for free to try on Steam between February 14th at 7 PM CET (10 AM PT, 1 PM ET) and February 18th at 7 PM CET (10 AM PT, 1 PM ET).

For those enjoying monster-slaying during the free period, Children of Morta will be significantly discounted with minus 65% for the base game, and minus 60% for the Complete Edition, containing also both paid DLC-s (Paws and Claws charity DLC/Ancient Spirits new character DLC).

Finally, the Onlice Co-op is available in both game modes - Story and Family Trials!

The awaited Co-op Update "The Fellowship Sanctuary" comes on Feb. 14th!

Hello Family!

11 bit studios and Dead Mage will mark the last update on the Children of Morta Development Roadmap with the release of The Fellowship Sanctuary on Steam on Feb. 14th, 2022. The final of a whopping 8 free updates to the successful rogue-lite adventure is highlighted by the long-awaited online co-op mode allowing for two valiant warriors to team up against the ever-oppressive Corruption together.

While Steam players will be able to enjoy online co-op on Feb. 14th, the Dead Mage team is still hard at work on bringing the same experience to consoles. We truly appreciate our communitys continued patience and support in this matter.

Persian Voice-Over for Children of Morta

Hi Family!

As you may know, within our recent free-for-all update, we've been very happy to release the full Persian (Farsi) Voice-Over, alongside the Japanese language version!

All in order to honour the dev team behind Children of Morta, their cultural heritage, and one of the major influences in terms of their art style for the game!

All recording has been done by Nader Gahrsoody who is a professional voice actor working on dubbing within films, animation, and advertising; his voice can be also heard on the Iranian National Radio.

Unfortunately, we cannot list the Persian language as officially supported within the Steam meta-data so we hope this piece of news showcases the possibility to play the game in another language, native to some of the dev team, to all of you!

We're super excited to share another groundbreaking record for us in terms of charity - since its launch in 2020, we've raised over $200 000 for Humane Society International with our charity DLC Paws and Claws for Children of Morta.

Japanese Voice-Over for Children of Morta

Hi Family!

As you probably know, in one of our most recent updates, we've released our full Japanese Voice-Over localization for Children of Morta.

We're extremely proud to have on board, as our Narrator, the industry veteran Takaya Hashi, whose roles include ones on Fist of the North Star (Toki, Amiba), Naruto Shippuden (Kakuzu), Sailor Moon S (Sergei Azimov, Ventriloquist), Full Metal Alchemist (Majhal), Beastars (Boss), Pokmon (Mun), Metal Gear Solid (Skull Face), Harry Potter (Severus Snape) or Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt (Emhyr var Emreis), to name just a few over the 36 years he's been a voice actor for anime and video games!

Born out of love between man and goblin, YajoujMajouj fluidly changes battle forms together with their basic and special attacks, switching between spinning whirlwinds of Spirit Embers or the magnetic, wounding power of a quirky ally.

Weve been hard at work and we are very conscious of how quickly time flies - 2019 seems like it was just yesterday but Children of Morta has been out for two years now! And our development work is still not finished, which we are very aware of.

Many questions have been raised in the meantime about the Online Co-Op mode, which we wanted to implement as soon as possible - and which is still sadly not available for you as of now.

We are aware of how disappointing and difficult such a long wait has been for you - and therefore wed like to reassure you all that weve been diligently working on the assignment set out for us by ourselves and not been sitting idly by.

The development proved much trickier and time-consuming than we first anticipated and it has been taking more time than we first anticipated. To assure you how long weve come with it, we would love to present you an alpha sneak peek into the mode - so that you rest assured we have not forgotten our promise and aim to deliver a stable and working solution worthy of your wait.

Children of Morta | Bugfix Update - June 2021



Hello Dear Family!

We've got a small update coming your way for OSX, Linux and Windows - so don't be alarmed when an update downloads itself!

  • Added support for older GPUs that were previously experiencing black screen in dungeons with only the fog being visible.

Children of Morta | Bugfix Update - June 2021



Hello there, Fam!

We've just released an update for Children of Morta on XBOX, PC, PS4 & PS5! It fixes a number of bugs, as well as some platform-specific issues that you've reported - keep up the good work, it's super helpful for us!

Nintendo Switch update shall be live June 11th as it needs a little more time!

List of FIXES:


  • Fixed audio looping issue (Playstation 4)
  • Fixed a few instances where Mark could have stuck behind walls (especially during Forest boss fight)
  • Progression blocker in some instances after defeating the final boss in the Story mode and Family Trials (Insane difficulty) is now fixed
  • Fixed the occasional progression blocker during Ferocious Slayer objective
  • Portal may appear behind the closed door after completing the Cleansing Guardian objective
  • Two or more of the same divine graces could be obtained
  • Fixed Kevin's "Deadly Storm" talent not working as intended
  • Fixed Mark's "Swirling Staff" skill not working as intended
  • Fixed the issue where it sometimes was not possible to interact with a shopkeeper due to items piling up
  • Fixed the issue with directional keys being reset each time the game is restarted
  • Fixed the issue that could cause characters to become invincible in Local Coop because of Unstable Relic
  • Fixed the issue where Revive prompt could be randomly shown in Local Coop
  • Fixed the issue with traps spawning inside objects in the Desert biome
  • Fixed the issue with trap relics causing incorrect kill streak numbers
  • Fixed the issue with pressure plates not working as intended during the memory puzzle
  • Improved performance throughout all consoles
  • Minor bug fixes to improve the stability and overall experience

We have a piece of truly wonderful and heartwarming news for you today! The Paws and Claws charity DLC has proven to be a huge success and ever since its launch, we've been able to raise MORE than $130K for animals worldwide!

Long story short: on August 24th 2020, we launched the Paws and Claws charity DLC for Children of Morta. 100% of our proceeds from the sale of the DLC go to Humane Society International (HSI). From the bottom of our hearts, we thank every player for their continuous support and their contribution to this noble cause.

Children of Morta | Hotfix Update - April 2021



Hey there, Fam!

We've just released a small update for Children of Morta on PC, PS4 and PS5! It fixes some smaller bugs, as well as some PlayStation-specific crashes that you've reported (thanks for reporting those, btw, it's super helpful!).

List of FIXES:


  • Crash on the Title Screen (it happened for some PS4/PS5 users)
  • Belagoo crash (PS4/PS5)
  • Several random crashes connected to characters' abilities and/or loading screens (PS4/PS5)
  • Progression blocker in some instances after defeating the final boss in the Story mode and Family Trials (Insane difficulty)
  • Occasional progression blocker during Ferocious Slayer objective
  • Portal may appear behind the closed door after completing the Cleansing Guardian objective

Children of Morta Family Trials Mode is Available Now!

Children of Mortas biggest update yet is now live on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Family Trials is a combat-focused game mode and all users can now hop into the fast-paced action for free.

About Family Trials Mode
Family Trials mode revolves around Zyklus, a unique and abnormal Dungeon located somewhere in Rea. The Zyklus Dungeon is quite unstable - its nature and rules rapidly change, following an obscure, chaotic cycle affected by the Corruption itself. Bergsons use this mysterious place to test their skills and limits - so they're better prepared to face the dangers that await them in the Land of Rea.

From the gameplay perspective, Family Trials is completely separate from the Main Story campaign of the game. It offers new systems, items, character builds possibilities and more - all set in a series of completely randomized dungeons. It is also quite challenging - most of the progress is lost when you die in the dungeon - so you better prepare to learn from your mistakes!



Family Trials Mode - the basics


  • Complete main objectives and optional side-objectives and advance to the next floor. Objectives vary from protecting the Rea Laborers from waves of enemies, fighting in the arena - to surviving the flood of corrupted adversaries, and more!
  • Unlock two additional difficulty levels: Hard and Insane. The higher difficulty, the more levels you have to beat!
  • Experiment with your character builds and learn from your mistakes to best your consecutive dungeon runs.
  • Levels are completely randomized each time you enter the dungeons.
  • All Bergson family members and their active abilities are available from the very beginning.
New systems, items and features

  • The Skill Tree is replaced with a new Talent System. Each time a character levels up - it gets to choose a new Talent.
  • Runes no longer drop in the Dungeons - they became a part of the Talent System instead.
  • Divine Relics and Divine Graces have two additional power tiers - you can upgrade them in the special shop or find them in dungeons.
  • Item upgrades vary from simple stat boosts to additional special traits unlocked for each item.
  • 40 talents per character - stack the upgrades and modifications for your skills and passives to dominate your enemies.
  • In-game deeds with special rewards to help you survive Family Trials. Complete them to start your run with bonus HP, instant level up, extra gemstones or even free items.
  • Gemshards work as the main currency in Family Trials mode - use them in the new shop to gamble for rewards, upgrade your equipment and buy new shinies.
To unlock Family Trials you have to reach the first boss (Spider on the Third Floor) in the Story Mode. You don't even have to beat it - just look that adversary right in the eyes (all eight of them).

Are you ready to survive the Zyklus Dungeon and pass the Family Trials?

  • Improved the performance across all platforms;
  • Fixed the audio looping issue;
  • Fixed the issue where save could get corrupted upon creating NG+ ;

  • Fixed the issue where Thief King mini-boss could have vanished from the challenge room making it impossible to complete;

Children of Morta | Community Update - March 2021



Hi there, Family!

We hope that the year 2021 has treated you well so far. We are doing great but were also quite busy. What are we cooking, you ask? Well, some content for Children of Morta, obviously! Lands of Rea are rather dangerous in some places - thats why from time to time it is wise to create a detour in your travels. And its especially nice if you find some unexpected rewards while discovering new routes, right? So thats exactly what we did. Heres a quick summary of our adventures from 2020 and some plans for 2021.

THE STORY SO FAR
2020 was a tough year for all of us. A global pandemic, social unrest, major natural disasters. Everyone copes with tough situations differently - and we happen to be a bunch of proper gaming nerds aficionados, so thats what we have focused on: making stuff for our game for you to enjoy. We hope that by creating new content for Children of Morta weve provided you with a portion of much-needed escapism. In 2020, we have delivered 5 significant updates to the game and four of them were completely free. Through those updates, weve added things like Items Packs, New Game+ Mode, new difficulty settings, a brand new playable character, and more!

The paid DLC, however, was a different story and was very special for us - cause it gave a spotlight to something that we care about deeply: our animal friends. Paws and Claws DLC - while it obviously adds new features to the game (like the Animal Shelter System, new boosts, animations and events) - it first and foremost focuses on helping animals in the real world. 100% of 11 bit studios and Dead Mage's proceeds from selling this piece of content go to the Humane Society International charity organization. Were super proud to announce that this way weve already raised more than $100k (and this number is still growing!) for animals around the world - and its all thanks to you! Thank you so much for supporting Paws and Claws DLC, folks!

Now, lets see what the future holds for us, shall we?

NEW ROUTES ON THE ROADMAP
As you can see, there are some alterations to our route and wed like to shed some light on what happened here and what we had to change over the course of the last few months.

Our initial plan for the last three updates was simple: 1) deliver a rather straightforward and basic endless mode for the game; 2) then add the online co-op functionality and last but not least - 3) create a bigger piece of paid content that would feel like a separate mode of the game. Those were the three upcoming points on our previous roadmap. However, what we have learned by creating the Uncharted Lands (paid DLC) - is that it would organically work better if we have actually merged some of its features with the Endless Mode, delivering a brand new experience in a shorter amount of time. A win-win situation, so to speak.

Let us be fully transparent here: we kinda felt that the basic endless mode (The Temple of The Endless Update on the roadmap) that weve implemented and tested back in the day didnt add that much to the game. It was functional, you wouldve enjoyed it for sure - but it wasnt a major game-changer. We felt its not enough - even as a fun little free update. But by borrowing some mechanics from the paid DLC content - we couldve created something special that almost feels like a game within a game. So... thats exactly what we did. Thats how the Family Trials Mode was born!

And theres a surprise here, too. Even though it was supposed to be a paid DLC, we decided to make it totally free to thank you all for supporting us by buying the game and the Paws and Claws Charity DLC.

Long story short: there is no paid DLC coming anymore at a later stage - instead of that youre getting a bigger, super fun, free content update in the form of Family Trials Mode.

Were going to share more information about the new content later down the road. But we dont want to leave you empty-handed so for now, heres a sneak peek of the totally new hub area that will welcome you to the Family Trials Mode:

ONLINE CO-OP
We know youre all waiting for the online co-op functionality to be added to Children of Morta. Believe us, we want to see you wreaking havoc on your enemies without the restraints of the local co-op, too - but the only thing we can confirm at the moment is that were still working on it, its not canceled or anything like that. We cant give you any dates here. The only new piece of info is that the upcoming Family Trials Mode will also use that online co-op support in the future.

Linux Support:
We have some great news for our Linux community, too! It took us some time - but we've finally managed to add Linux to the list of supported systems! If you're using Ubuntu 16.04+ the game should run just fine but we highly recommend Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (or any newer version than that).



Below you'll find a detailed list of Paws and Claws' new features, changes and additions. We've decided to list them separately bacause some of those details may be worth discovering on your own and you might consider us talking about them as "spoilers". :)

New key features added in the DLC:

  • Animal Shelter System - a new section of the house.
  • Taking care of animals.
  • Animals have happiness levels. You can raise them by giving them treats.
  • High happiness = boost for the family.
  • Animal modes: Normal (no boost), Happy (low boost), Excited (med boost), Overjoyed (High boost).
  • Treats are dropping from dungeon chests.
  • There are two types of treats: Common and Epic.
  • Animal Shelter will be unlocked after the player reaches floor 2 of cave 2.
  • Active Boosts will be shown in notifications, home status and character select menu.
  • Animal idle animations will change with house Corruption levels.
  • Animals will not always appear in the house, sometimes theyre in the jungles of Rea and out of Bergsons sight.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed the issue where Lucy could dash out of bounds (especially in Forest area)
  • Fixed the issue where Rage globes had Health globe icon on the minimap
  • Fixed the issue where Player could activate Healing Obelisk effect infinitely after activating the Obelisk and then discovering the Teleportation Room
  • Fixed the issue where Player character could get stuck behind chests
  • Fixed the issue with an infinite loading if both boss and character were killed at the same time in the Forest level
  • Fixed the issue where PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller was not properly supported on Windows both wired and via bluetooth
  • Fixed the issue where poison and fire related runes damage did not scale up throughout the game
  • Fixed the issue where Player could use teleportation shortcut to trigger Obelisk of Force effect continuously
  • Fixed the issue where and input from Right Stick was interrupted when moving and using secondary attack for some characters
  • Several additional small bug fixes and improvements


So, just as a quick summary: you need to buy the Paws and Claws DLC to get all the new animal-related content - and this way, you are supporting Humane Society International. But you'll still get the new items from A Treasure! Update, even if you won't buy the PnC DLC. However, we highly recommend getting the DLC - it makes this world a better place for all of us. Bergsons' House - New Character Added! | Free Content Update

We bring you some news from far-away lands! Bergsons House Update introduces a brand-new hero: Apan, a versatile mid-range champion, capable of covering a large area with her staff and spells while using a set of all-new runes and skills. Apans Introduction - Story:
Among the Asva tribe, she is known as Clan Mother. She was barely out of childhood when her talent for healing started to show. As a youth, she would participate in her tribes battles to treat and nurse the soldiers but wasnt above picking up a weapon and fight when it was called for.

In one of those wars, she nursed to health a young warrior named Dhal, the son of their tribe chief, from critical wounds. They started courting and got married on the midsummer day, under the lucky shade of willows. As a gift, on their marriage day, Dhal gave Apan a magical dragon-shaped flying kite, upon which she could ride over the entire lands of the north in a day and a night.

Years later, when she spied the amassed pitch-black clouds in the distant south, she decided that she was needed in the midlands, and she arrived there to give aid to the Bergsons in their fight against the Corruption.




Apans Introduction - Gameplay:
Apan is as skilled in providing vital support for the companions on the battlefield as in wielding a sturdy staff. Weapons reach makes Apan perfect for delivering deadly mid-range strikes and her special Asva Pulse dash ability leaves the opponents hindered in the dust. Her spells cover a large area of effect, and all the Bergsons can take advantage from Apans medical knowledge as she boosts the effects of the healing potions. Also, a new system lets the family gain shields from items, abilities, and Apans Rage skill. In other words - her presence makes them all stronger, especially in the battle.



Apans Introduction - Origins:
We're also super happy to say that the new character design was done by a backer and his partner from the games Kickstarter campaign! They believed in our project since the very early stage and we are super thankful for that! Here's what these backers - known as AgaRar and GlueBubble - had to say about the idea that inspired the Apan's creation: The idea for Apan came from the brainstorming of myself and my partner. We originally made her an orphan but later changed her to a mother to better compliment the Children of Morta story and family theme. A strong leader of nomadic healers who allies herself with the Bergsons to aid them in their fight against Corruption. We hope that our inspiration and Dead Mage's hard work translates into a character that you all will enjoy for years to come..

  • A brand-new character with a unique skillset designed to play in single-player, but shine in co-op playthroughs

Main Apan skills:
    Asva Thunderclap
    Apan focuses the energy around her and releases it at enemies to push back, slow, and damage them.

    Magic Glyph
    Using her staff, Apan channels energy around her, creating an area that damages and slows enemies in it.

    Guardians Rage

    Apan unleashes her rage at a protective manner, granting shield to herself and the Bergsons around her.




Added 32 Apan-specific Runes and 6 new Runes for other Bergsons to aid them in combat:

  • Apan Trait for Linda: the primary critical attack has a chance to gain a shield
  • Apan Trait for Kevin: Kevin gains shield when he exits shadow dance
  • Apan Trait for John: the primary attack has a chance to gain a shield
  • Apan Trait for Lucy: when lucy uses her decoy, she gains a shield
  • Apan Trait for Mark: marks gains shield when he uses his stick
  • Apan Trait for Joey: joey's smite gives him a shield

Added new Shield System:

  • Bergsons can gain shield now, from items, abilities and Apans Guardian Rage skill
  • The shield will add on top of HP bar in HUD with an indicator of the amount of shield
  • Shields are temporary and can stack up
  • When characters have shield all of the receiving damages will be blocked by it till the shield amount ends or shield duration finished.
  • Lucy Guardian Rage skill will now add her Shield instead of increasing her maximum health

Added new Rage Globes drop:
Added new Rage Globes drop - refill your rage meter faster! Rage Globes drop with the similar rules as Health Globes. Note: Rage Globes will be added to Nintendo Switch version of the game in a few days, so dont be alarmed if you dont see it there, yet!

HUD Tooltip Rework:

  • Buff panel now supports and shows more character buffs, including the passive skill of characters skill tree
  • Buffs now auto-scroll when players have more than 9 buffs in normal HUD size and 7 buffs in Larger HUD
  • Divine Grace tooltip also will auto-scroll when players have more than 8 relics
  • Runes are now visible on the minimap

UI changes:

  • Added HP indicator for Decoys and Totem Divine Relics
  • Added Time indicator for Decoys and Totem Divine Relics

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed several issues with Gambler prompts
  • Fixed missing narration for Goblin King event in Magma dungeon
  • Fixed several issues with texts overlap on the UI
  • Fixed rocket targeting in Magma Dungeon
  • Fixed the issue where the first dungeon of a Chapter was always highlighted upon opening the Dungeon selection screen
  • Increased spawn rate for Stones required for Wine Machine event
  • Several additional small bugfixes

How to unlock the new character (minor spoilers):

  • Apan will be unlocked after watching her intro cutscene.
  • Apan intro cutscene conditions are met when players reach the second floor of Ziggurat dungeon in Barahut chapter.
  • If in the loaded save slot players have cleared the Ziggurat dungeon already, Apan intro cutscene will be played by going to any dungeon and returning home.
  • Apan intro cutscene has less "weight" against main story cutscenes. If there are other cutscenes in the queue, Apan intro cutscene will not play till all of the important cutscenes are watched in the house.

    Setting Sun Inn | NG+ Hotfix Update



    Hi there, Fam!

    You've probably noticed that Steam is downloading some kind of update for Children of Morta. Don't be alarmed! It's just a simple Hotfix for the Setting Sun Inn Update! winter2019surprisedyul

    Here's the list of changes:

    • Fixed the issue in NG+ where dungeon selector disappears after certain steps;
    • Fixed the issue where NG+ could not be started if the base game was completed before Hard Mode update was introduced to the game;

    This Update is already available on Steam and GOG. We're releasing it soon (tomorrow, probably) on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Store. We have to ask our Nintendo Switch users for more patience, though - due to additional certification the updating proces may take up to few weeks.

    Setting Sun Inn - NEW GAME+ Added | Free Content Update

    It's great to see you all, gathered around the hearth of our humble Setting Sun Inn. Word has it that the brave Bergson family continues their journey along the Children of Morta development roadmap with the addition of the New Game+ Update. This free update includes - you've guessed it - New Game+ content with tons of additional lore in stunning new cutscenes and quests.     We are super excited to deliver the second free content update from our Development Roadmap. As you could expect, the New Game+ Mode encourages you to follow the Bergsons journey again, this time with an increase in difficulty, character skill point caps, and upgrades in both Bens workshop and Margarets lab.

    We have also enriched the lore of the game with more than 50 new cutscenes, home events, and activities. We believe these additional pieces of story will strengthen your bond to the Bergson family and the wondrous world of Rea. In addition to the New Game+ content, new family-related quests have been added to the dungeons and will appear during the first playthrough as well. The update is available on all platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

    • New Game Plus mode where players keep previously unlocked characters, skill tree progress, resources, Bens workshop and Book of Rea upgrades, all while playing through even more challenging content

    It is time to give you the first piece from a series of upcoming free content updates!

    The Bergson family fought the Corruption without a glimpse of respite but their journey is far from over. Shrine of Challenge marks the first stop at a new, exciting branch in the story. The addition of Hard Mode will provide a greater challenge, and experience rewards, even to players already toughened by hundreds of battles. Along with new fight rules and enemies, all-new items come to help the fearless heroes purge their homeland of evil.

    Children of Morta | Development Roadmap



    Hi there, Fam!

    The Bergsons fight against the Corruption continues in 2020! We are super excited to offer you, Children of Morta family, even more content for the game! As you have come to expect (and appreciate), the majority of new content coming to Children of Morta will be available free of charge to those who own the game with only the Uncharted Lands being released as paid expansion. Lets take a closer look at the Roadmap!



    Pretty exciting, isn't it?

    Here's the full list of upcoming content updates:

  • Shrine of Challenge introduces hard difficulty and an item pack with more than 20 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics.
  • Setting Sun Inn invites you to New Game+ mode in which players carry their unlocked characters, skill tree, Morv, and Workshop Upgrades into a new playthrough after completing the game.
  • Random Encounter means what it says and says what it means - youll never know what you might find here!
  • In the Bergsons House a new playable character awaits.
  • The Fellowship Sanctuary adds the much anticipated online co-op to the game.
  • Temple of the Endless contains a series of arenas with waves of enemies, mini-bosses, and a new boss. This Endless Mode fully supports online co-op.
  • The Treasure update will contain more than 30 new items including Charms, Divine Graces and Divine Relics.
  • All this should prepare you for The Uncharted Lands. The next journey for the Bergson family will be a brand new DLC chapter with the main quest and a home event, another playable hero, new enemies, and a new boss.

    It's too early for us to confirm any specific dates - we want to be sure that the content we're releasing is polished and as bug-free as possible. We're going to reveal the date (and share more details!) for each update closer to its release.

    Making New Marks | 11 bit studios Publishing Announcement



    Hi there, Community!

    We have some super exciting news for you!

    We are proud to team up once again with the developers of Moonlighter and take on an ambitious project from Fools Theory! Both projects -- in various stages of development with further details coming in 2020 and beyond -- are bigger in scope than anything 11 bit has previously published.

    Were still an extremely picky publisher. Were probably even pickier than we were before if you can believe it! Our job is to hand-pick true gems and put our best efforts in with the development teams to help make them shine. We believe in boosting unique projects and using all the marketing magic we have to see them succeed. Right now, weve got two projects were really proud to have under our wing, - Pawel Feldman, Publishing Director at 11 bit studios.



    Details are sparse right now (gotta save all that marketing magic for later), but we can reveal the following:


    • We are beyond thrilled to be teaming up with Poland-based Fools Theory for their latest project, codenamed Vitriol. The studio behind the artfully created stealth title, Seven: The Days Long Gone, is developing a game best described as a meaningful RPG. Jakub Rokosz, CEO at Fools Theory says, We are truly happy to align with 11 bit studios. Theyre known for their ability to find the unique spirit in a game and I believe our upcoming title fits impeccably with the type of projects they like to work on.
    • You might also say that we are over the Moon(lighter) to be teaming up once more with Digital Sun Games. Theres nothing to divulge just yet, but rest assured that the hard-working Spanish developer is putting the same care and attention into their new project (codename Foxhole) as they did with their critically acclaimed indie hit, Moonlighter, but this time its a totally new IP. We badly wanted to work with these guys again. As a team, we feel 11 bit did a great job with Moonlighter and we both want to do even better things together. Its really as simple as that, says Javier Gimenez, CEO at Digital Sun Games.

    we've kept a close eye on your adventures. Thanks to this and to your amazing, ongoing support and feedback, we've managed to fix a large number of issues that some of you might have encountered while playing Children of Morta. We hope that this patch will make your playthroughs smoother and even more enjoyable than before. Find the detailed list of changes below.

    Important NOTICE: This update will reset players' current key rebindings.

    GENERAL FIXES:

    • Fixed unachieved Souvenirs of completed quest not spawning in dungeons to collect.
    • Fixed Bens false exclamation mark in broken cart event.
    • Fixed broken control by dying at completion of Water Purifier pump quest.
    • Fixed fail narration of Water Purifier pump quest plays when activating 2nd switch.
    • Fixed game getting frozen by skipping custom narrative fireplace cutscenes and returning to title screen afterward.
    • Fixed getting stuck in the Unchaining Slaves event if the Assassin enemy teleports out of the event room.
    • Fixed Area 30 Boss becomes invulnerable sometimes.

    Children of Morta covers the costs of development just a few days after release!



    Greetings, Fam!

    We have some great news that we want to share with you!
    Children of Morta launched on September 3rd and has covered its cost of development after only a few days on the bestseller lists of online game stores like Steam and GOG.com! It was a long road for us - and after years of hard work and dedication, we could not be more pleased with game's success! Coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch this October 15th, we are looking forward to carrying this success onto consoles. The triumph of Children of Morta proves that strength and perseverance, much like the bonds of the Bergson family, are what it takes to overcome even the mightiest of obstacles.     Children of Morta | Patch 1.0.7



    Hi there, Fam!

    A quick update before the weekend! We've managed to fix the Di Vine Machine Achievement. It's not a major change - but we know how important achievements are for some of you out there!

    Find all details below. For us, there are no spoilers here - but some of you could consider this description a minor spoiler about an in-game achievement. You have been warned!

    For new players:
    By collecting first Artifact (Stone), there would be no slave events in the dungeon till you come back home and see the first cutscene where Ben starts working on the machine. After that, you can collect all 3 Artifacts (Stones) even in a single run and by collecting the fourth one, the second and last cutscene will activate and after that, the achievement should pop up.

    For players who have already collected all 4 artifacts but did not get cutscene/achievement:
    We were forced to delete those artifacts (Stones) from your inventory and remove data record of slaves events. Thanks to this modification you should encounter the slaves events (in the way described above) again and complete the quest in order to get the achievement.

    Children of Morta | Patch 1.0.6



    Hello there, Fam!

    While working on bigger updates we'll be releasing a series of hotfixes solving some of the most urgent issues you guys share with us. Here's the first one.

    Full list of fixes:


    • Pathfinding fix for the Child escort quest in the Cave dungeon. NPC should not get stuck anymore.
    • Fix for Mark falling out of the level boundaries while attacking enemies. This is a complex issue that may be caused by a series of different events. We believe we fixed them all but please keep us posted.
    • Analog gamepad deadzone has been tripled to quickfix the issues you've reported. Full control of this through Options Menu will be delivered with one of the upcoming patches.

    We've been searching Steam Discussions, Reddit, Twitter and all the other community channels - to gather your feedback about the game. What you like, what you don't like, what works and what doesn't. We know you're waiting for content updates but for starters - we decided it is crucial to fix the most popular bugs and crashes.

    Full list of fixes:


    • Fixed crash after killing ziggurat boss
    • Fixed Ancient Mastery achievement not being achievable
    • Handling very old save files as corrupted
    • Fixed game stuck at save warning screen with Alt+Tab
    • Fixed bug of game getting stuck after load if the last watched cutscene was a nightmare
    • Fixed bug of game getting stuck in character tutorial in home if player returns home during start room narration
    • Fixing Narration of dungeon resolutions (Freeing Aspects Home Cutscenes)
    • Took some measures to prevent escort kid being stuck in walls
    • Fixed I Won't Let You Die achievement being obtainable through means that werent intended
    • Fixed the issue with some Divine Relics being stopped without fade.
    • Fixed Anai-Sarava Projection cut-scene music.

    • Fixed escort kid enemy patterns being too hard sometimes
    • Fixed stucking in Teralava puzzle room in co-op mode
    • Fixed King of Thieves miniboss vanished in Teralava challenge room
    • Fixed locking out second player in co-op in Fatigue intro event room
    • Fixed Chinese Language missing some characters
    • Fixed Spider king Boss when using any item or skill to become invisible
    • Fixed Spider king Boss issue when reviving with divine relic
    • Updated some Turkish translations for items
    • Fixed Effect of totems remains on player when going to the next floor
    • The range that players can be revived in coop increased to avoid problems when reviving near hazards.
    • Fixed forest dynamic music after first arena fight and 2nd arena
    • Fixed end credits music cuts out after finishing the game
    • Fixed mini boss fight music not playing when fighting 2nd time after defeating them
    • Fixed mini boss fights music not playing if skipping the intro cutscene
    • Fixed Kevin vanish sfx remaining after exiting vanish
    • Fixed unsync sfx of cutscenes after defeating mini boss
    • Co-Op: Fixed fatigue intro locking 2nd player out of the fight room
