Ascending the Lighthouse
Nestled in the heart of the Solna Plain, the Lighthouse now opens its doors to you. Available from the start of Chapter II, head for the door where a Consort officer will be waiting to start a new chapter in this vast and mysterious edifice. Arm yourself with patience and your best equipment to complete the fifty levels that make up this endless tower...

To help you on your way, random modifiers can make your task easier... or get in the way. Numerous chests containing valuable equipment for the various members of your team litter the tower's fifty floors. It's up to you to decide whether or not to open them, or risk a pack of creatures descending on you in a corridor... Be careful, though: if your team succumbs before beating the next boss, then you'll have to restart your ascent from the last checkpoint boss (e.g., if you die on floor 19, you'll start again on floor 10, but if you die on floor 21, you'll start again on floor 20).

When the guardian, the final boss of each level, is defeated, the level is permanently saved, while the next is unlocked. You will then be given a special amulet to equip in the "Accessory" slot of the "Equipment" menu as a reward. Don't forget to equip your team members with the five unlockable amulets - they'll be a great help to you whether you're climbing the Lighthouse or enjoying the rest of your adventures on the Astryan continent.

We've taken care to create five distinct ambiences, with different biomes of creatures, environments and levels to suit all players. The Lighthouse is freely available from chapter II, so if you are stuck at some point, you can come back anytime later - the world of Heryon has many more treasures to offer!
New Prologue
Over the past three years, we've noticed that onboarding new players to our universe has been a major problem. Whether in terms of design, pacing, storytelling, animations, or its "WTF" feel, the old prologue - Chapter 0 - didn't reflect a fair image of the open-world experience we offer in Edge Of Eternity. Over the past few months, we've decided to completely revamp the beginning of your adventure. The "drama" sequence is now chopped up, broken down and divided into three distinct sequences in the form of nightmarish dreams. As in the previous version, these moments will be fully playable when Daryon and your team fall asleep at key moments in the narrative (more precisely, in Chapters II and III). Overhauling the structure that underpins the experience was no mean feat, but we've come up with a result that we hope will convince you. A new introduction is now available. For the more curious among you, you can find this new cinematic at the very beginning of the trailer above. All the controls and mechanics of open-world gameplay are now available to you from the very first minutes of play.
A smoother start to your adventure
As part of our drive to make your experience more fluid, we've decided to shorten travel times for several objectives that make up your main quest in Chapters I and II. Many pointless round-trips have been eliminated in the Herelsor Plain and the Solna Plain, to offer you a more comfortable gaming experience until you obtain your mount. Once you've unlocked your mount, don't hesitate to pass through the dandelions scattered around the world to increase your movement speed.
What's Next?
After almost a year of live development on Edge Of Eternity, we need to take a step back from the updates, continue to hear your feedback and bring in new ideas, while continuing to fix the game's many bugs. Nevertheless, we hope to be able to bring you a brand-new world map and loading screens in the coming months.

The fourth Community Update is available! It brings both major and minor changes to the User Interface to make the game experience as pleasant as possible.
Improvements
- Weapon and crystal stats are now compared in the corresponding menus. For better readability, selected and unselected weapons are automatically displayed at their maximum level potential.
- Hints to the location of materials for new weapons are now displayed on the recipes at the various crafting tables.
- The overall design and feel of the team's energy bar has been updated to be more consistent with the universe.
Patch Note
- The project has been updated from Unity 2019.4.2 to Unity 2021.3.21, a performance gain can be noticed
- You can now enable auto-battle mod by default in the "Game Settings" tab
- Fixed a bug that impacted the minimap display in Herelsor City
- Fixed the UI of selling items x10 at merchants
- Added signboard Nekaroo animation to all signboards in the Solna Plain
What's Next?
Since last November we have improved, reviewed and corrected many elements through the New Game + and the four Community Updates. The rhythm of the next updates will now be less regular. The next one, scheduled for June, will be a major content-rich update that will renew the game's narrative flow. We are currently focusing on revamping the Lighthouse dungeon (available during Early Access) and preparing to release all updates on all platforms (consoles included). Although, we are targeting Q3 2023 for a release on all platforms, we hope to be able to announce a precise release date in the coming weeks. In parallel to these many works, there are many surprises to come. We look forward to sharing them with you!

As scheduled, the third Community Update is now available! Focusing more on the User Interface, this update brings new bug fixes, improves some elements and offers new features requested by the community.
Improvements
- Buying or selling items in batches of 10 is now possible at all merchants.
- Immersive mode now removes all items from the HUD.
- Two tutorials have been created to better guide new players through their journey. They will appear when you first go to the "Tactic" tab or use a "Weather Stone" in exploration.
- The mouse cursor has been standardized across all menus and sub-menus.
Patch Note
- Fixed a hardlock where you could face the Junkyard boss before meeting Ysoris
- Fixed a visual bug in the craft menu
- Fixed a visual bug when selecting a character on the "Main" tab
- Fixed a visual bug that hid information on the HUD when fighting in controller mode
- Fixed a tutorial window that appeared between two loading screens at the beginning of the journey
- Added a list to select your game support when a bug is reported
- Improved the UI when an equipped weapon is on the list of components needed to craft a new weapon
- Improved combat against the Red Widows when defending the refugee village in the Jungle
- Teleporting to Inel is now possible for players who have not unlocked the zone teleporter

For this second Community Update, we have continued to focus on Quality of Life features.
Improvements
- The final boss is now easier to defeat, his health points have been decreased
- New icons have appeared in the "Inventory" menu
- New weather conditions are now available from the Weather Stones: Sandstorm, Light rain and Heavy rain
- Hunting boards have been visually improved
Patch Note
- Final dungeon enemies have been rebalanced
- Corroded Spawn in the Clockwork Field have less hit points
- A puzzle has been removed from your journey through the Crelk Forest
- The description of the "Haste" stat in the "Characters" menu has been revamped
- The term "Heyr" now replaces the term "Gold" at vendors
- You can now indicate if your game is up to date when you report a bug in game
- Your party of companions will have their energy restored when the party falls asleep during events in Olphara Pass
- Quests in Solna Plain that require a Nekaroo are now unavailable until you obtain your trusty steed
- Auto-Battle mode can now be toggled on and off during the Red Widows' assault on the Jungle Refugee Village
- Teleportation to Inel from Olphara Pass has been disabled to prevent softlocks
- Ysoris' "Crippling Sweep" skill removes magic defense from enemies instead of giving it
- The number of prey has been increased to make it easier to complete the various hunting contracts in Tyr-Caelum

For this first Community Update we wanted to improve the ergonomy and the general accessibility of the game. Several elements of Quality of Life have been revamped, many bugs have been fixed and new features have been added!
Improvements
- The resources for crafting new weapons now appear in a new dedicated sub-menu called "Resource". Here you will find all the materials you need to craft new weapons from the different workshops in the open world. For more convenience and accessibility, all resources can be filtered by category.
- The old HUD icon for calling your mount Nekaroo has been redesigned from scratch to better match the interface aesthetic.
- You can now double-click on quests in the quest menu to follow them directly instead of selecting them and clicking "Start Following".
- The animation and VFX of the dandelions are disabled when you are on foot and will re-enable when you are on Nekaroo's back in the open world. While waiting for a dedicated tutorial that will come later, our intention is to make you understand that crossing them will only make your mount gain speed (which by the way is very fond of it!).
- Press the "J", "C" and "P" keys on your keyboard to display the "Quest", "Crystal" and "Equipment" menus respectively. If you are playing with a controller, use the up, down and right arrow keys to display these two sub-menus.
Patch Note
- The softlock of the tutorial in the Inel chest has been fixed
- Various localization corrections in all languages
- It is no longer possible to have Zandra in your party once you arrive in Inel
- Changed the description of the quest "The Resurgent" which was spoiling the plot
- The term "Restart" replaces "Restart the fight" during the puzzle phases
- When the characters in the "Main" tab are changed, the "Tactic" tab will update without leaving the menu
- The "N" key will no longer appear to activate the auto-battle mode when playing with the controller
- The quest "Taint & Honor" now ends after the siege of Tyr-Caelum
- Added a box "Is your game updated?" when sending a bug report through the pause menu
- Added multiple invisible walls in the open world to avoid softlock
- Fixed the bug that prevented the display of the Nintendo controller keys on the HUD
- Fixed the bug that placed the main quest at the bottom of the quest list in Chapter II
- Fixed the problem that prevented access to the "Equipment" menu
- Fixed a UI window that remained in-game after closing the "Character" menu
- Removed duplicate quest area in "The Resurgent" quest
What's Next?
The second update focused on Quality of Life is scheduled to be released next month and will bring new global improvements. Coming soon: a rebalancing of the final boss, a reworked UI, new icons in the menus, improved weather stones, improved save/load menu and many bug fixes.

This update includes two new features: Weather Stones and Auto Battle mode. 21 weather stones have found a home on the soil of the Astryan continent. Meet them and choose between Clear, Heavy Snow, Heavy Rain and Fog weather to master enemy weaknesses on the battlefield.

Ever dreamed of putting down the controller or keyboard and letting your computer fight for you? Now you can with Auto Battle mode! Combine this feature with the battle speed for fast and smart battles throughout your progression, whether it's against the simplest of Heryon's creatures or the most imposing of bosses (not recommended though...). You can activate this feature at will during each fight.

What's next ?
In parallel to the development of our unannounced project we have created a new team dedicated to the monitoring, maintenance and development of Edge of Eternity. We are currently working on a number of "Quality of Life" patches for the next few months. These patches will improve the overall player experience, fix long-broken elements, development errors, unfinished features, or stubborn bugs. We'd like to offer these patches in dribs and drabs, with one update per month, to ensure an optimized and polished experience. New playable content is currently being considered. Unfortunately, the various remaining additions announced in the roadmap have been pushed back to 2023.

Since the Bestiary Update late in July, we didn't show you some stuff on the working progress content. Although today, we are proud to reveal several new features that we have implemented as well as some other suprises accross the open world... Have a look of the trailer below:

First of all, four new enemies now roaming in the open world of Heryon: the Valnakraai, the Ostophagos, the Noir Monarch and your beloved Stalker. Designed in colaboration with the Kickstarter's backers each one have these own abilities and caracteristics to get you out of play.
In order to beat them, you are welcome to use the new spell families, like the shadow, the water and the wind. Combined them thanks to the new weather UI to enhance your strenghts!
Thanks to your feedback, we have rebalanced the fights. The battles will now prove more challenging, whereas you're fight bosses or mere wandering monsters. Equip your crystals into the brand new gem patterns to triumph over the battlefield.
On a much calmer topic, you could find about ten new side quests in the open world also you can hear new inn dialogues if Fallon doesn't complain...
Lastly, Herelsor City got freshened up! From the former version designed in 2016, the heart of the Astryan Continent is now more consistent with the rest of the universe and got performance improvements.
You can now reach it even faster with the all-new Nekaroo dash, which you can trigger by riding through the dandelions sprinkled all over Heryon.
And most of all, don't miss the new NPC's animations over the different locations of the open world.

These last days have been quite busy, to say the least! We've received a lot of feedback about the game, some of them good - and of course some of them bad. So we've been essentially bug shoveling for the last two weeks. And today is the day were finally able to push that most sizeable patch. We realise that Edge of Eternity still needs work, it is a huge game and we're a small studio: for this reason your feedback is an invaluable guidance on where we need to focus our efforts, whether it's here on Steam or elsewhere. - Removed energy cost from Sprinting and Attack in exploration
- Removed time / quantity limit from material shopkeepers

Improve your journey
Since last weeks release, we have put a lot of thoughts in how we could improve the game. Every day weve read your feedbacks on Steam reviews, forum, Discord or the social medias in order to understand how we can push the limits of the player experience, update after update. A release isn't necessarily an end, it can also be the beginning of a new journey. First of our efforts, we will polish the first hour of the game. A smoother tutorial, more intuitive and user friendly, revamped with better environments: we have begun reworking the beginning of the game, which seems have disappointed a lot of players. But thats not all (far from it), we are beginning a larger, more extensive work to overhaul the whole game for the next weeks.

We have started to publish fixes and rebalancing of several issues (crafting, nightmare difficulty, etc.) but we are also working on including new content and quality of life improvements. The roadmap you've been following since the Early Access release will be completed with the arrival of the game's final two chapters: A Message From Beyond and The Ascent. These two new pieces of content will provide 5-10 hours of additional gameplay. To reach the epic conclusion to their quest, Daryon and Selene's party will have to find the famed mount Berenroth and thread the most dangerous Clockwork Field in Astrya.

The fishermen's village of Inel is happy to welcome you
Surrounded by sea and mountains, Inel remains spared by the torments of war. Nevertheless, this peaceful village is not a restful stop on Daryon's journey. Taking place between Chapter 0 and Chapter I, this new open playground is the best way to apprehend the games core gameplay mechanics. In addition, new players will be able to go in depth with Daryons personality. This new content include :

Please welcome the long awaited feature: DLSS support!
If you are playing with a NVIDIA card DLSS-compatible, you can now turn it on to enjoy the game with beautifulest graphics! You can configure the different activation levels on Options > Graphic Settings page: Off, Ultra-Performance, Performance, Balanced or Quality.
If you missed it, we already shared in our Discord a comparative table to check how enabling DLSS in Edge Of Eternity will better your performance:
As you can see your FPS are going to grow without any quality loss! Also note that all these tests were before the latests optimizations so it might get even better on your computer.
For achieving this we also want to thank the NVIDIA team who got really involved in the development, giving advices and helping us as we are the very first game made with Unity joining the DLSS family. NVIDIA DLSS is now available for NVIDIA RTX GPU in Edge Of Eternity, it can be enabled from the graphic settings menu. DLSS allow to achieve much higher framerate by rendering at lower resolution internally and using AI upscaling, oftenly the differences with native resolution are not noticeable and it offers a huge boost of performances. December 5th marked a new anniversary of our early access: it has now been 2 years since we launched our first chapter in 2018. The game has seen an impressive evolution since then with 3 chapters in its first year, and 3 more this year.
However, the content was not the only axis of improvement this year, indeed this year was also illustrated by the passage of the game to the beta phase! We have also started to anticipate the final release of the game with features like the Modifiers that arrived with Chapter VI.
We still have work to do for 2021 but nothing is impossible. For the coming year we have a chapter much bigger than any currently available, as well as the final release!
Today this phase of Early Access is useful as it allows us to have your feedback to create thanks to you a JRPG that will be remembered! We also took the opportunity to give you our own feedback through a video presented by three members of our team:

Chapter VI is finally here with a new playable character, gorgeous environments and major performance improvements. We are also bringing a rework of the great dungeon: the Lighthouse from Solna Plains. This chapter is the last one before release!

New playable character available
An unexpected character will join your team during this chapter, bringing the number of members on your team to 5. She will be useful but it is especially thanks to her atypical gameplay that she may surprise you!
Special Attacks
Enjoy the power of three new Special Attacks coming this chapter:
- Daryon (unlocked when fighting the [spoiler]Conclave at Olphara Path[/spoiler]);
- Ysoris (unlocked when fighting [spoiler]Oboros with Selene[/spoiler]);
- Fallon (unlocked immediately after [spoiler]unlocking Fallon[/spoiler]).
Major performance improvements
We vastly improved CPU usage throughout the game, especially in cities and where the framerate had major CPU dips, there are also a lot of smaller GPU optimizations. Difficulty System Rebalance
The difficulty system has been rebalanced thanks to your feedback and should now be more progressive and have a better feel. We are still working on some bosses balancing, all your feedback are welcome, dont hesitate to join our Discord!
Lighthouse Improvements
The lighthouse has a first rework pass with fixes to the freezes and infinite loading issues. Floors upper than 50 are also now available, you can select them thanks to the new floor selection menu when entering the dungeon. Note: To unlock a floor you need to complete once the past 10 floors.

Modifiers System
We implemented a modifier system for lighthouse and on a long-term basis for the new game + option that we will add later at full release. On the lighthouse for example as you run deeper into the lighthouse there will be negative modifiers that will be added to the floors (increaseasing received fire damages, explosive effect on dying enemies, etc), there is also lootable positive modifiers that can give you significant combat boost and/or items rewards; in the new game + negative modifiers will be added at each new run and youll be able to find positive ones through the game.
