Let me share a bit about the years results and plans for the next one.
The year was challengingone might even say unsuccessfulbut Ive managed to make some progress, however small.
You can follow the news on my Reddit community. There, I also occasionally write about the creation process and share more details about the Savvarah universe.
Everything will be divided into two sections: [RESULTS] and [PLANS].
RESULTS:
1. The release of Legends of Savvarah: The Time of the Pariah. Overall, I consider it a failure, but having a release is still an achievement. Why do I see it as a failure? - Several questionable creative decisions, less-than-ideal variability, and other choices. I dont think its bad, but my expectations were a bit different. - Financial disappointment. Even considering the significant chunk lost to U.S. taxes (due to the lack of a double taxation agreement), I managed to cover all direct expenses. However, my expectations were higher. If you enjoyed the game, leaving a review would mean a lot. If not well, then dont bother. :D
PLANS
1. Legends of Savvarah: Children of the Sun. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/2416490/Legends_of_Savvarah_Children_of_the_Sun/]LINK. The game will be released on January 23, 2024. I've written a lot about the project in my reports, but let's break it down point by point: - We'll find ourselves in Savvarah long before Hasvah from Gods of Savvarah was born. The war with the Horned Ones has just ended, and Akotal has not yet become a semi-divine tyrant. - This is a technical step forward. We've got full map navigation and relatively free interactions with characters. - A single playthrough will be significantly longer than The Time of the Pariah. Despite this, the game still retains its strong variability. - Theres a lot of universe lore. You'll dive deep into cosmology while exploring the personal stories of the characters. P.S. Sorry, the screenshots aren't translated yetI'm still in the process of adding translations to the game.
2. Legends of Savvarah: Flowers and Scorpions. LINK. Scheduled for release in May 2025, though it might be delayed to June/July 2025. Its already well-developed but still needs assembly. Plus, Im polishing the text to fix logical inconsistencies.
3. DLC for Legends of Savvarah: The Time of the Pariah.
A significant DLC is planned for June 2025. For those who already own the game, it will be free. Details will follow next year, but heres a preview: - Expanded introduction to the story. - More content around the Honey House and its residents. Expect more Viory and Otkor. - Two new characters, including the Honey Houses Mistress. - More Sudu, more Red Shiv. Two more projects definitely wont be released next year, but work on them is slowly progressing behind the scenes. 4. Legends of Savvarah: Whisper. of The Ocean.
It is planned to be a game with turn-based combat (not card-based), where youll have the opportunity to assemble a teamyes, much like in traditional RPGs. The setting is the tropical Ankar Archipelago. The main character featured on the cover/banner is Atahira. Below is her image, along with one of the potential team members.
5. Legends of Savvara: Arachnum. Arachnum is a province of the Julian Empire, where the dominant race is the Zkitani (insectoids). The story takes place on Ertheon (the continent of beastfolk), over 800 years after the events of "The Time of the Pariah", when the war between the Dominion and Kradjan had long since ended. The remnants of Kradjan are now only the Aquatic Tigonia, while Ertheon is under the control of the Julian Empire (the Dominions successor). Matius is a judge. He comes from a noble family of beastfolk. His father holds a prominent position in the Imperial Custoria (the local Presidential Administration), his brother is a deputy minister, and his grandfather was a city prefect and a high-ranking military officer. Matius is appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Arachnum, a province inhabited by insectoids. Its too early to say exactly what the game will be like, but conceptually, Im drawing inspiration from Dave the Diver. This is a narrative-driven adventure. Youll play as a judge, resolving disputes and navigating between the Empire and the interests of the local nobility. Along the way, youll explore maps, engage in mini-games, and build relationships with other characters (yes, romantic interests are planned, including beastfolk, insectoids, and Takur). The protagonist (yes, hes a feline humanoid) will be joined by several characters youll encounter along the way:

Todays update is a big one. Well cover whats happened and whats in our plans.

You can subscribe to my subreddit, where I post various news, dev logs, and other content. Theres also a detailed description of the world of Savvarah and a few words about my creative journey.
1. This year, Time of Pariah was released.

On the positive side, the game covered direct costs, though overall it brought in far less than expected, so I consider it a failure. Time of Pariah was an experiment for me, but it was, in many ways, unsuccessful.
- The extensive branching diluted the story and shortened the time it took to complete any single path.
- Combining 18+ content with a game where that content wasnt central also wasnt the best idea.
Still, were considering a major free update with new characters and expanded storylines, but were undecided. A final decision will be made around February or March next year.
2. Children of the Sun.

In January 2025, we plan to release a new game set in the world of Savvarah, and were on track to meet the timeline.
In my opinion, weve fixed many issues from Time of Pariah in this game: the branching is still extensive, but each story path takes significantly longer to complete. Children of the Sun has more of a fantasy tone, with magic, divine entities, and, as with my previous games, is just as dark and harsh toward the main character. I hope youll enjoy it.
3. Flowers and Scorpions.

A new visual novel in the world of Savvarah is scheduled for release in May 2025. A small delay is possible, though unlikely.

5. Future Plans
5.1. Untitled Project #1 (Arachnum).
There are plans for two projects that will move away from the visual novel format. Both are in the VERY early stages of development.
Heres the gist: Arachnum is a province of the Julian Empire, where the native race is the insectoid Zkitane.
The story is set on Ertheon, over 800 years after Time of Pariah, after the Dominion and Kradjan war ended long ago. All that remains of Kradjan is Aquatic Tigonia, while Ertheon is under Julian Empire control (the Dominions successor).
Matius is a judge from a noble family of beastfolk. His father holds a high position in the Imperial Custaincy (the Imperial Administration), his brother is a deputy minister, and his grandfather was a city prefect and high-ranking military officer.
Matius is appointed as the new Chief Justice of Arachnum, a province inhabited by insectoids.
Its too early to say what the final game will be like, but in my mind, Im aiming for something inspired by Dave the Diver.
Its a story-driven adventure. Youll be a judge, resolving disputes, navigating between the Empire and the local nobilitys interests, exploring the map, playing mini-games, and forming relationships with other characters (yes, romantic interests will include beastfolk, insectoids, and Takur).
5.2. Untitled Project #2 (Beach Episode).
This project is an attempt at a simple RPG with turn-based combat (something similar to Darkest Dungeon). The mechanics are still in development.
We already have some experience creating similar games and plan to build on that. The game will feature a main heroine and a party with whom youll battle in turn-based combat and interact to build relationships.
Were calling it the Beach Episode because it takes place on tropical islands.

Additional: A book set in the world of Savvarah has been released, though I currently dont have the rights to translate or share it, so for now, its just a by the way.

1) RELEASE OF TIME OF PARIAH..

On 31.07.2024, our new game will be released. I have already submitted the application to Steam for review.
The game is complete and not divided into parts.
A crime-ridden port city, beastmen, 24 endings, room for role-playing, and even romantic interests.
I hope you enjoy the game.
2) We hope to release "Children of the Sun" this year. We are actively working on the project, but there is a chance we won't make it in time.

This is Report #7. The information is up-to-date as of the end of February 2024. A slightly more detailed report has been published on our Patreon. (including sketches, but only sketches, 18+ scenes).

The beginning of the year has been incredibly busy. Because of this, I even thought that perhaps it would be worth giving up on reports, but on the other hand, someone is reading them. And it's kind of nice to show the results of our work.
I remind you again that several projects set in the world of Savvarah are in production. And this is a report about the work on them. "Gods of Savvarah," unfortunately, are still on hold.
1. "Time of Pariah".
Add to wishlist. Most importantly: the likelihood that they will be released in August 2024 is very high (I would say 90 percent), because we are moving towards this very confidently. What's happening: 1. We have started translating the text into English. 2. I began assembling the game's code. 3. The music is ready, so we decided to make additional tracks. 4. The game's interface has been completely updated. 5. All artworks for the epilogues are ready. 6. All artworks for achievements are ready. 7. Main images are being drawn, but they will be created closer to the release. 8. We are in the process of creating images for lore articles. There will be 8 pieces (at least, that's the plan for now). And now for the demonstration. This is how the game looks now:

I hope to finish the coding work in 2-3 months. It's not difficult, but very tedious work. In a Word document, this is 506 pages of text (in fact more, because sometimes the text splits on the page). A large volume, because, I remind you, 23 endings and really a large variability.
2. "Children of the Sun".
Add to wishlist. I want to release it this year, but there's a good chance it won't happen on time. It's also quite a large project that should immerse you in the cosmogony of the world of Savvara. Here we are working in a bunch of directions at once, but none of them have been completed yet. We had a significant lag in terms of backgrounds. We had to change the artist in January 2024, but now several backgrounds are already ready. It is expected that there will be around 15-20.
Achievements are currently in the process of being created. Here are some:
For "optimization," we came up with this thing. We have action episodes. For them, we decided to make these "cards". Here are examples:
Epilogues are also in process, but I'm not showing them yet. Other artworks are also being drawn.
The text is ready, but not fully edited yet. In terms of volume, it's even larger than "Time of Pariah", although it's slightly less variable (13 endings). The interface is also expected this month. If everything goes according to plan, we can start assembling the material around May-June 2024. Thus, there are chances to release this project in the fall of 2024, but the risk of postponement is significant.
3. "Flowers and Scorpions".
add it to your wishlist : ) This project has been moved to 2025. I set the date as the beginning of 2025, but it's not exact. The fact is that after reviewing the editing, it was decided to significantly rework and add to the text. Most likely, I will only be able to tackle this closer to the end of summer 2024. Nevertheless, we are still working on the game. But, let's say, less actively. 1. Main artworks continue to be drawn.

It was a challenging, but eventful year.
We released "Gods of Savvarah | Part 1". I didn't want it to be released in this form. The original idea was not to split the game into parts, but unfortunately, circumstances forced us to do so.
Will there be a continuation for "Gods of Savvarah"? Let's be honest: I don't know.
We have material for a continuation. The artist who worked on this game and I are still working together. Moreover, we are very keen to complete the game, but unfortunately, we can't do that right now.
The reason is mundane: "Gods of Savvarah" took a lot of money, but didn't bring success or profits. Currently, we are working on other projects (outside of Savvarah). If they go well, then "Gods of Savvarah" might have a continuation. If not... Well, let's not think about the bad :)
Let me remind you what we have for the continuation. And there's a bonus at the very end.

Now about the projects that 99 percent will be released next year:
1. Time of Pariah.

And so far, it feels like we have every chance to meet these dates.
What's done and what's not:
- music is almost completely ready (currently, 6 original tracks are done);
- interface stuff is almost completely ready: the map is done, there is a general vision. Rework is planned for the second half of January, and we've already found a person;
- in the process of creating images for epilogues. Half of them are ready. Most likely, the work with epilogues will be finished in January;
- art for one 18+ scene out of five is ready;
- other images are in the process of creation, but as I said, we should be able to finish them;
- the text is still in the proofreading stage. Most likely in February, we will start working on the translation;
- achievements are planned. Expecting 41 achievements;
- the text for notes, journal, and codex is not fully ready;
- all images for character cards are ready.
Nevertheless, we did a good job this year.
"Time of the Pariah" is quite an ambitious project that I am very much looking forward to:
- crazy variability;
- cool characters;
- nice visuals.
Although I'm incredibly tired of writing the text (98 thousand words), honestly, I am satisfied with the work done.

To be honest, I am not absolutely sure we can manage it, but again, there are good chances.
I am very much looking forward to this project, even though it almost killed me morally. More than 107 thousand words. And also great variability.
I'm a bit worried about "Children of the Sun" because the plot leaves a strange aftertaste, though I must say, I like my own work.
About what's happening:
- editing is not finished. I hope we will finish it in February. Then I'll start the translation;
- Work on the interface has not been conducted. Planned for February 2024;
- Also in the process of creating art for epilogues. Only one is ready so far, but I plan to finish them by early March 2024;
- Locations are not ready. This is what I'm most worried about, but it seems like the current artist should speed up next year;
- Images (scenes and others) are in the process of creation;
- Music is completely ready (8 original tracks from Kvoh, who created the soundtrack for the chapter about Kalutu in "Gods of Savvara").

Flowers and Scorpions are postponed to 2025. The reason is simple: during editing, we decided that many moments are not working well. It needs text rework, which we don't have time for right now.
Nevertheless, much has been done for the project, including the soundtrack and numerous artworks. And we are not completely stopping the work.

4. Additionally:
Book publishing house offered me to write a book about Savvarah and... Yes, create a coloring book.
I'm not sure when it will all be in English, but I still want to share.
Firstly, there will be a coloring book. And yes, it will be like a lore book, because there will be different peoples, individual heroes from games, and a bunch of gods and legendary personalities.

There haven't been any major changes here, but I believe that by the end of this year (or the beginning of the next), we will be working more actively on this project.
2. "Time of Pariah".

The release date is scheduled for July-August 2024. Based on my estimations, we have good chances of meeting the deadline at the current pace.
Editing is almost complete. It takes a lot of time due to the extensive volume of text.
There are many deaths in the text. I considered removing them but am contemplating adding different difficulty modes instead.

1. "Gods of Savvarah".
Work is ongoing, but, as before, not particularly quickly.

These are sketches of characters you'll meet in the continuation: Echo of Dadar - Sorana (The chosen one of Dadar, similar to the Shadow of Dadar, whom you might have seen in the video about Nikaria), and the servant of Mentor (dragon) Daihakka - Naimara.
And the merchant from Monarda - Sensil.
2. Flowers aand Scorpions.

This is the shortest story (it's about 2.5 times smaller than "Time of Pariah" and "Children of the Sun". It will likely be the first to be released.

The reports are dedicated to all projects in the world of "Savvarah" that are in progress (there are 4). Different people are working on all of them, so they do not interfere with each other. The projects are united by the world and the author.
July was quite busy and productive.
So far we are mostly working on side projects. News on "Gods of Savvarah" will appear in August or September, but it will be quite short.
For now I'm preparing the terms of reference for creating music for the future locations of the game (planned + 20 tracks).
1. Legends of Savvarah: Children of the Sun..

The text is being actively written. It is about 50-60 per cent ready.
About 56 000 words have been written. I hope to be able to finish it in early September.
The music is in the process of being created. There are already seven original tracks ready. I won't show you all of them, but here are some:

"Children of the Sun" has perhaps the most complex dialogue dialogue system. And it opens up the cosmogony of the universe more than anything else there, which makes me very eager to show off the story myself.
2. "Legends of Savvarah: Time of Pariah".

4. Extra, Savvarah Nations.
Savvarah's world is large, vast and varied. So far I am thinking how to systematise this information so that no one gets lost in its flow. I haven't made a final decision yet.

Unfortunately, it could be said that June turned out to be not particularly productive due to artists being ill/going away and so on. Nevertheless, I have something to show and tell you.
1. Gods of Savvarah.
Nothing on them yet. We will most likely resume work in August/September because, as I said, the team that was involved in development is now busy with another project, unrelated to Savvarah.
2. Legends of Savvarah: Time of Pariah..
Images of three more characters have been created.
The text is fully written.
The text consists of about 97 thousand words.
There are 23 endings planned, 4 romantic interests and a lot of interaction options.
The story tree looks like this.
We have decided on how the interface will look. I hope that we will start implementing it soon.
3. Legends of Savvarah: Flowers and Scorpions.
Flowers and Scorpions". The text has been written for a long time, so we are working on everything else.
Done:
- Art for the main menu.
- Another guard sprite is drawn.
- Nikaria's monster-form arts are drawn.
- Just a couple of scenes (backgrounds will be added later).

We are currently in the process of creating covers for Steam and the main menu. The text is being written. At the moment, about 12 thousand words are written. Music is being created, but all the tracks are demos so far, so it's too early to show them.

1. Gods of Savvarah.
It is planned that there won't be a second part, but rather a "Gods of Savvarah | Full" version or something similar (Complete Edition).
The text for the continuation is written. It was actually fully prepared back in 2019. Not everything has been proofread and translated, but it shouldn't take much time now.
We have a decent number of backgrounds ready. The backgrounds for Monard and Chazir are almost complete. I'll show them in fragments.
Sprites for many characters have been drawn. However, we want to redo some of them.
As for the scenes, we have very few ready. In essence, we are currently working on "Gods of Savvarah" at a very slow pace because the artist and I are temporarily engaged in another project, but we plan to start giving attention to "Gods of Savvarah" soon. I can't provide a release date at the moment. The sequel definitely won't be released next year.

2. Legends of Savvarah: Flowers and Scorpions.
The main heroine of the game is Nikaria. She is also the main character in the "Dadar's Sting" video, and the game is essentially a direct continuation of that video. Nikaria is an agent of Chazir and a servant of Dadar, who is sent to spy on Monard's Duke (the same city whose guests Hashvah can encounter in "Gods of Savvarah | Part 1").
This is a localized story that takes place in the same locations with a limited set of characters. The plot is significantly shorter than "Gods of Savvarah," but we strive to maintain our main feature: extensive variability and role-playing possibilities.
There are planned to be 11 different endings and even the possibility of developing romantic relationships. There are no plans to release a demo version or divide the game into parts. In terms of readiness:
The text is fully prepared.
All character sprites are ready.
The music has been commissioned but is still in development. It will also be original.
The scenes have been started, but let's say they are in an early stage (the artist was delayed due to illness).
I hope the project will be completed next year.

3. Legends of Savvarah: Children of the Sun.
The events of the game take place long before the events of "Gods of Savvarah." The main heroine is Nueli. She is a lyoka. She has an inherent defect that gives her a very weak magical gift, but she has a special ability - vision, which allows her to see threads that permeate magical energy. The plot will touch upon her childhood at the very beginning, although it will not be fully dedicated to it.
Through Nueli's eyes, we will see a completely different Savvarah:
Savvarians have returned from the war with the horned ones. They are servants but not yet slaves. Lyoka themselves still don't quite understand how to relate to the lizardfolk;
Akotal has gained great power, but neither he nor the previous lyoka elders understand the limits of his abilities. He has not yet realized how godlike he has become, and they still think of him as a powerful sorcerer who can be easily overthrown if desired;
Something like cultural shock therapy is happening. Those who ran in skins across lifeless wastelands are still alive, but a whole generation of lyoka has grown up for whom these stories seem like strange and frightening tales.
The plot is also localized, but it will be strongly focused on the lore and cosmogony of the world of "Savvarah."
We might release a demo, but I'm not sure if it's necessary at the moment.
In terms of readiness:
The text is in the process of being created. About 25-30% of the game is done.
Sprites for all characters are ready.
Scenes are being created, and they are being done quite promptly.
Music has also been commissioned. It will also be original.
I hope the project will be completed next year.

4. Legends of Savvarah: Time of Pariah.
Our, let's say, furry project, but set in the world of Savvarah.
In the world of Savvarah, there is a continent called Erteon, where the Dominion of the Horned Ones and the Beastfolk have been engaged in a long, long-standing conflict.
The action takes place in a port city. The main character of the game is Hidu (in the red shirt). He is a mercenary who works for a criminal authority. Hidu is tasked with investigating a series of mysterious murders.
The game itself will visually resemble "The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante." In other words, it will likely be something close to a book. We will have character cards that are colorful and vibrant. The art for the scenes will be minimalist and sketchy. This will also allow for insane variability and role-playing opportunities.
Additionally, the game will feature 18+ content.
There are no plans for a demo version or splitting the game into parts.
In terms of readiness:
The text is being created. It's about 70% complete.
Some of the characters have been drawn.
I hope the project will be completed next year.

"The Gods of Savvarah | Part 1" didn't turn out exactly as we envisioned, and the work took much more time and effort due to our inexperience, but I hope you enjoyed the result.

Savvarah is an evergreen paradise hidden from the eyes of strangers.
The godlike and all-powerful tyrant Ackotal has sealed himself off from the world and created his own state in the middle of the forest with a rigid hierarchy, at the very bottom of which are lizard-slaves. Hasvah was one of them.
One day, however, the slave receives the chance not only to break out of his imprisonment, but also to change the destinies of other characters and entire nations.
In this great adventure, the protagonist visits different countries, encountering their inhabitants, both ordinary people and gods.
The world of Savvarah is ruthless, so the protagonist has to either fight for his life or die along the way.

- Choices can lead you to seven endings. Besides, there are even more ways to achieve these endings;
- Dozens of characters, each with their own story and appearance;

- Nine chapters planned. Meanwhile, you can't see all the chapters in a single playthrough, and a full picture of the world and an understanding of a character's motives and actions can only emerge in subsequent playthroughs.
