People have been asking for localized versions of Neon Chrome and now we have a few! We owe our thanks to some awesome fans who have created the localizations
Usually we've localized games with localization agencies, but we wanted to try fan localization since the fans really know the context and the game intimately.
Today we have three new languages: Russian, Danish and German.
Googleman81 was kind enough to do the excellent Danish translation.
Alex did the awesome german version.
The magnificent Russian translation was a collaboration of several people: parabashka, LinXP, vitka_k, lerakennedy and Lexa366 from ZoneOfGames.RU
Massive thanks to these awesome people!
We'll update Mac and Linux versions once we'll make sure everything is stable regarding the translations. You can discuss the translations on the forums - we'll adjust them when necessary. Generally most of the game is translated but names and locations usually aren't.
10tons is happy to release a new top-down shooter where you get to murder a lot of tentacles. It is called Tesla vs Lovecraft and it is here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/636100/Tesla_vs_Lovecraft/
Version 1.1.3 is in default branch. Some changes
- Localization improvements (still working on these)
- Auto aim now available on desktop as well (in Gameplay menu)
- Fixed some technical bugs which affected some integrated Intel GPUs
- Some spawner bugs fixed (special level spawned dudes inside the spawner walls)
- Announcement for our upcoming game Tesla vs Lovecraft
- The weapon upgrade system now has improved behavior for lvl 25+ and capped upgrades: If weapon attribute is capped - for example damage at 5/5 - you get a 500 credit reward instead. If the weapon loot level is capped and you can't upgrade any attribute, you get a 1000 credit reward. We might consider other options and/or improve this in the future but now the upgrade stations have a role for advanced builds as well.
- The game supports localization. Only Finnish available at the moment though. We'll improve the Finnish localization as we go - currently it is a bit rough :)
- The exit button now says save & exit
Mac and Linux versions will update later.

We're proud to present Time Recoil - a top-down shooter where you kill to slow time and save the world from a mad-scientist-dictator! http://store.steampowered.com/app/625910/Time_Recoil/
It's an amazing arena-style top-down shooter with a friggin Tesla Mech! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=908124847
The game is almost in top 100! Thanks to all voters so far. Give it the final push here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=868668375
A quick bugfix update for the Arena - Wall hatches for spiders can now be damaged with explosives in the Arena, they had a spawning bug which made the invulnerable to explosions - Loot amounts are now tied to highest overseer level - the higher your overseer level, the more loot you get - Corporate Soldier's speed penalty is removed in this version. Might keep it this way, if it is more fun. - If you use play-buttons in the leaderboards, the game should now work correctly. In previous versions some weird stuff happened when playing from here. Meanwhile: Also check out Time Recoil Greenlight here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=868668375 We appreciate your votes greatly!
We're soon launching Time Recoil into Greenlight. To drive more traffic into the Greenlight page, we started a Thunder Clap.
The idea is simple: Thunder Clap will send a single message through your Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr account. This happens at the same time everywhere, so we can get a visitor spike.

Bonus, brutalist architecture in Time Recoil:
We've announced Time Recoil officially today! It's a brand new game we're working on. We hope to start beta testing during April on Steam - we'll see if we can achieve that!
In Time Recoil the player is given a super power: Kill to slow time. Killing will trigger a slow motion effect, and killing additional enemies while in slow motion charges a special move. The more the player kills, the more powerful the special move becomes, starting from a simple dash and ending with a mind blowing psy-weapon.
You can visit http://timerecoil.com for more info!
The Arena DLC got a co-op mode (local) in the last update. Just hit Y or space to join after starting a run. The score will be posted according to player number.
We also increased the enemy power in higher arena levels. The scores were multiplied by 3 so you should be able to score higher with new runs.
A bunch of other smaller fixes were included as well. The main game can now spawn "credit crates" to lower the amount of credits to draw in super high Overseer levels.
Full patch notes here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/428750/discussions/2/142261352648589383/
The co-op update for the Arena is in beta! You'll also keep the credits from the Arena for the main game as the score and the credits were separated. The high levels now introduce enemy variants with a lots more hp, speed, and even shields. In addition the game uses a new shader system. This may be a source for some bugs. You can head on to the Arena forums for feedback on the beta: http://steamcommunity.com/app/428750/discussions/2/ After we've found and solved any major bugs, we'll push this to default branch plus Mac and Linux. Please back up your profile before running the beta, as it may have some bugs.
Neon Chrome Arena is now available for Mac and Linux too. Let us know in the forums if you encounter any trouble and we'll fix it.
During the next two weeks we'll reserve some time for updating the Arena with some requested features and possibly local co-op if it looks like we can do it without a massive revamp.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/568850/
The Arena DLC is finally out! The Arena is a DLC that opens a brand new survival game mode complete with leaderboards. The price is USD 4.99 with a 25% launch discount. The goal is simple: Survive as long as possible. Each level will be harder and the game will seriously try to kill you!
Regarding the scope there are five roles which you can play. You know the roles from the main game but there are also some differences. The loadouts are fixed in order to make the scores more comparable and more dependent on skill. Your main game unlocks will be in effect in survival. You're more likely to score higher with more unlocks but a skilled player can achieve a nice score with the starting unlocks also.
A mid-tier high score will take roughly 20-30 minutes to achieve so you should expect at least 2 hours of play time minimum if you do that with each role. However, if you like to compete in arena based survival high score modes, you'll probably be gaming in this mode much much longer.
In the immediate future we'll be monitoring the feedback on the Arena forums here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/428750/discussions/2/ We'll update the Arena at least a couple of times after we learn more how people play it and what they think of it.
If the DLC gains popularity we may do larger feature additions like co-op modes, custom character mode and more variable arenas. This largely depends on how the DLC sells. To break even with the work done so far we'd need around 20% of Steam buyers to buy the DLC. Let's see how it goes - this is our first DLC ever if you do not count the OST.
See you on the scoreboard!
We're proud to announce Neon Chrome - Arena - an upcoming DLC for Neon Chrome. The Arena is - as you can maybe tell from the name - an arena-based survival game mode for Neon Chrome. It will have online leaderboards - something we've wanted to create for Neon Chrome from the beginning.
The concept is simple: Kill waves of enemies, upgrade weapons, install enhancements and try to survive as long as possible. The Arena is leaderboard based so your goal is to collect as much credits as you can before you die. The games will last between 1-10 minutes depending mainly on skill but also on luck a bit.
All the roles have their own leaderboards as they play very differently and some are better than others. It will be interesting to see how the scores align. Expect some leaderboard wipes during the first few weeks as we balance the game.
At first the Arena will be independent from the main game, but eventually we could maybe give rewards in the main game. However, due to balancing issues this will not be a launch feature.
Currently we hope to launch next week but it may change if we run into any trouble. The price will be announced later.
The latest update included misc. balancing and fix for late game Hovertank bug - you were able to hammer it down with knock back enhancements and big damage. Shouldn't be possible any more.
The Linux version had some library issues with libpng so you need to use the beta-branch to access the latest update for now. We'll fix it when we have time.
Also check out http://teslavslovecraft.com for our upcoming game!
In any case: Happy holidays to everyone!
The game now officially supports Linux and Mac. We've also updated the gameplay in various ways so the game should better than ever!

The update which was on the beta branch was made live. Hilights from the update:
The latest version is now available. There are two major things.
The first one is the improved purchasing functionality. You'll have the ability to buy multiple enhancements on higher Overseer levels. 2 on 2.0, 3 on 3.0 and so on (number of free slots also limits this). You can also buy a weapon starting from level 5 up to 25. You can buy up to level 10 on Overseer 1.0, 15 on 2.0, 20 on 3.0 and so on. The prices increase exponentially - the high levels are supposed to be very very expensive.
The second one is the mod support. The game now supports mods to some extent and there are a couple of quick example mods for you to play with. The mod support is offered always "as is" and we can't make guarantees of the quality of mods so you'll be using them at your own risk. We'll release more info later but this should get interested people started. We're not sure yet how much we can invest on the mod support on long term as it depends heavily on the game sales.
The mods are accessed from the options menu.
The modding support is now available on the beta branch. Read more here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/428750/discussions/1/357287304420250077/ Guide here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=686306547
The latest update which was just moved from beta testing to default included the following changes. - Abilities now scale with the damage stat and are much more useful on higher OS levels. - Explosive damage from player weapons also scales in similar fashion. This should make weapons with explosive damage more potent (it's also easier to blow yourself to bits if you're not careful). - Explosive damage is also taken into account in base damage calcs - Railgun loses less damage when piercing objects (33% loss instead of 50%) - Submunitions now has a 25% chance to trigger (was 20%), but spawns fewer grenades. - Psycho Darts can now convert named variants (Keymaster, Sergeant, etc), but unique minibosses (name written in white) are still immune. - Fixed a bug where a converted Grenadier wouldn't attack enemies In general the OS levels after 2.0 should be a clearly easier now when your damage stat starts to get over 50 and the enemies get more hp. The scaling also affects the 1.0 a bit if you spend a lot of credits on buffing damage.
This update balances the bosses after the initial playthrough. The bosses were a bit weak on Overseer 2.0 and above compared to advanced player power levels. After this update they should offer a more serious challenge in Overseer 2.0 and above.
We updated the game with some features requested by the players after the launch. Some bugs were fixed also. Here are the patch notes.
- Changed crit color.
- A special unlock terminal now shows a correct text if it has already been unlocked.
- Swapped the colors of player's damage and crits.
- Fixed one memory leak in actor sound manager
- Centipede's head and tail now spawn "immune" when hit.
- Changed autodoc and ultradoc tooltips to reflect they're different
- Adjusted companion drone stat scaling to 1.0 - scales 1:1 with player
- Text on floor says ROOS as in text and speech in museum
- Fixed a bug when reinforcements sometimes fail to appear in high overseer levels
- Made companion drone alert sound less irritating, it repeats quite often
- Added alert sound for companion drone
- Fixed a bug with Grit achievement.
- The description should remain as the purchasd item
- More suitable sounds for purchase (gun clicks and some bleep for ability)
- Melee hit sound is now a more meaty thud
- Companion drone is now immune to lasers.
- Companion drone now scales with player stats.
- Tip arrows for longer lists in purchases if there's content to be scrolled
- Added some new loading tips
- Added a melee effect for the player.
- Now properly freeing all actor type assets before reloading.
- Fixed memory leak in releasing UISets and DropDownList UI components.
- Replaced some odd floor tiles in an entry elevator room.
We're currently working on the console builds in order to release them within hopefully next two months. However, we're also working on a new update. Hopefully it'll be released next week. The update will most likely include improved and more detailed boss scaling for advanced OS 2.0+ levels.
In addition we're making the mod support a reality but the schedule on that is not yet certain (hopefully within a month).
The game is now out - wohoo! We've done our best to make the game as good as we can and the current build is very much final. The last thing we did after the "update beta" yesterday was an improvement for the second tutorial where you need to break the wall - it should be quite hard to miss now.
We'll try to fix any problems which remained hidden as quickly as possible.
Anyways, enjoy the game! You can leave us feedback on the forums or via the feedback button in the game!
We've just updated the beta branch with the latest version. The build has a bunch of nice fixes but we need a bit more testing. Let us know if you find any problems - we may elevate this build to default build tomorrow if it proves to be "trustworthy enough"... yes.. Trust Score is still low with this fresh build. Anyways, here's the change list.
We'll be moving the quick updates into beta branch as of today. After some testing the beta branch becomes "the default build". If you want to play the latest version which hasn't been tested "that much", opt in for the "beta" in properties->betas. Usually the beta version includes all the latest tweaks, features and fixes, but on the other hand there may be new and interesting bugs as well :) Here's the change list, some of this was already in 25th April update.
A bunch of fixes and tweaks in this update.
Another Release Candidate build with a batch of small fixes & balancing
The latest update is the very first release candidate of Neon Chrome. We will update before the release - at least the MOTD and some other details but for the most part this is very final. The biggest change is the "post unlock" behavior. I'll tell you the whole story. First we implemented unlocks a couple of months ago in the final phases of main production. First the unlock pool was global and all unlocks weree pulled from there. This was the most basic implementation of unlocks we wanted to have, but we iterated on that. After playing a while we decide we wanted to control the pacing of unlocks so that we could have more radical stuff in the game without too severe impact: Some stuff which unlocks late game makes the early levels much easier. So the unlocks were tied to chapters. This mean chapters started running "out of unlocks" at some point. We decided to give stat upgrades from chapters with all unlocks done. The other option was to stop spawning unlock terminals, but we think the game is more fun with them: The joy of discovery! However, after playing that version it started to become clear that the unlock terminals become super valuable when stat upgrade costs raised higher and higher as you improved the stats. For maxing out the easiest way was to farm the terminals from early chapters. This is something we didn't want to encourage that radically. So just a few days ago we changed the unlock terminals to increase the stat cap as many beta testers have asked for that and we also wanted to give the really advanced players more stuff to play with. That didn't feel right either for early game. So, today we changed it hopefully for the last time. Now the unlock terminals usually give you a chance to change your ability during the game (something people wanted too) or money. Some terminals give you a stat upgrade - but that's much rarer. Also, after you max out a stat, some terminals give you a stat cap upgrade. We feel that this is the combination we've been looking for :) Anyways, have fun! Change list below, mostly bug fixes.
This might be the last "beta update" - the next one may be a release candidate. In this update we added the ability to increase the stat cap by finding unlock terminals from chapters with all unlocks opened. You can also buy stats above 100 after the stat cap increases - they will be very expensive though. We also added some very special rooms and improved the explosived bullet enhancement. We also implemented GPU skinning for most actors and it is active by default. This should result in a low to moderate fps increase. We observed 2-8% with an Intel-based integrated GPU and 10-30% with a more powerful discrete GPU. At the moment some props on dead actors might be drawn incorrectly but that will be fixed soon. If GPU skinning causes any incompatibility issues, we may disable it in the future. Finally we also optimized the shadow drawing and limited dynamic lights to 4 per actor for even more FPS. The visual difference isn't noticeable but the fps should improve. The following updates will most likely contain only fixes for bugs we may find during the next couple of days. We hope to keep improving the game even after the release but the scope of that will be affected greatly by the success of the game: The bigger the audience the more resources we can spend to improve the game. Anyways, massive thanks to all beta testers so far! The game has improved a lot because of your feedback. We hope you've enjoyed the game and continue to enjoy it in the future too!
Time for the beta update of the week. The change list below. Mostly polishing and fixing. We may release one more beta update before aiming for a release candidate version.
During the last week we've mostly been fixing and polishing existing stuff but we managed to squeeze in the Overseer level change feature as the last thing today. The UI for the "System Hacks" will change in the future though. Details below.
