While were busy preparing a major patch full of fixes, weve just rolled out a hotfix addressing an issue we wanted to resolve as quickly as possible the black screen some players encountered when entering Photo Mode. This fix is already live on Steam.

Weve also taken care of a few smaller issues in this update:

• Fixed a bug that prevented players from catching Ruby Snapper during the Deep Bottom Hunt: Oyster Meat mission.

• Fixed the Billfish Trophies mission, as it incorrectly said "catch and take," when in fact you only need to catch the fish to complete the mission.

• Corrected the Havaru Spoons displaying 3 items, while there was actually only one.

We're still working on the issue where large fish can't be brought onto the boat in the final 23 meters. This will be addressed in the upcoming patch, along with the list of other issues that will be fixed soon.

Additionally, were working on bringing the new Maldives map to more platforms and will share the release date as soon as its ready.

Weve released a new Hotfix Patch to address crashes and freezes some of you experienced after the Maldives Update. More fixes are on the way in the coming days, but heres whats included in this patch:

Heres a quick update on the post-release fixes.

Were aware of some crash and freezing issues and are actively working on fixes. A new update is rolling out at this very moment to improve game stability. To avoid interruptions in your game play, were updating servers one by one, as many players are online. A few more updates will follow in the coming days, and well keep you posted.

While it might seem like everyone is reporting issues, our data shows that most players are playing smoothly. Still, every affected player matters to us. The crashes vary in cause, and limited diagnostic info from users makes it harder to resolve quicklybut were on it.

Were also considering compensation options for those who made in-game purchases during this period. First, we want to make sure the game is fully stablethen well take care of compensation. Rest assured that your experience and satisfaction are our top priority. Well share details about compensation after the fixes are in place.

Regarding another reported issuereeling in big fish (500+ kg) on the new mapsome of you noticed that they get stuck in the last few meters. Our investigation showed that this isnt a bug but a physics-based interaction. To land the fish, use a wider pull & reel motion, lifting the rod higherjust like you would in real life when pulling a very big fish onto the boat. That triggers the gaff animation and gets the fish onboard.

We've already introduced this breathtaking location in our previous DevDiary now it's time to dive deeper and explore the incredible fish species that call these waters home.

Swaying palms under a blazing sun, crystal-clear waters brimming with life, shimmering fish darting just beneath the surface we are creating the Maldives at their finest. The dry season has settled in, bringing perfect conditions for ocean fishing. A tropical paradise where Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Sailfish, and Marlin are entering their peak feeding frenzy.

The geography of the Maldives plays a key role in shaping the habitats where different fish species thrive. Spanning the Indian Ocean, the islands are arranged in two parallel chains of atolls that rise from a deep oceanic plateau. Between them lies the Inner Sea a calmer, more sheltered area rich with diverse fishing grounds. Venture west, however, and youll encounter the true open ocean: expansive, untamed, and brimming with big-game potential.

This location will feature 28 fish species, including 14 completely new additions to the game. We will cover the new arrivals in this DevDiary, but youll also recognize some familiar faces from other regions. Species like Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Albacore, Skipjack Tuna, and Dogtooth Tuna will feel right at home in these tropical waters.

First, we want to address the timing. We know Christmas week is family time, and holding a tournament then isnt ideal. Unfortunately, due to the release of the new map, there was no other option. Canceling the tournament wasnt something we wanted, as we know how important it is to many of you. We truly appreciate your understanding.

Now, lets talk about the recent changes to competitions and tournaments.
Over the past few months, weve introduced updates to the weather mechanics, significantly impacting how competitions work. In the past, knowing all the best fishing spots in a competition would almost guarantee success. However, with these updates, weather patterns and fish migration now play a much larger role. This means that familiar spots might perform differently depending on the conditions.

When these changes were implemented, we didnt immediately communicate them to the community. Competitions have always been designed as an aspect of the game where players discover and refine strategies through personal exploration. However, weve since realized that many players perceive these updates as a malfunction or unintended issue. To clear up any confusion: these adjustments were intentional and aimed at introducing diversity and keeping the experience fresh.

The good news is that you can still learn and adapt! Understanding how fish migrate under different weather conditions adds an exciting new layer of strategy to the game. We believe this adjustment creates an opportunity for players whove mastered the game to engage with new challenges, fostering continuous exploration and rewarding effort in novel ways.

And new to the game, White-Eye Bream, Common Nase, Sterlet, European Weatherfish, Chinese Sleeper, rare and valuable Black Sea Roach and locals favorite Azov Shad.

Freshwater trolling is finally here and it is available at all the locations in the game! Set out on the brand-new Dnipro motorboat, or give trolling a try with the rental boat available right at Dnipro River.

An interesting fact about how Ukrainian anglers fish for Wels Catfish is that it is caught in these areas by trolling at night, while in other countries it is usually caught from the shore.

Since these species are endangered in real life, weve made them available to take in the game, ensuring no harm to the planet while still offering players the chance to experience the thrill of keeping them virtually. Be aware that this option is available for anglers with Advanced Licenses.

Go ahead and start exploring the new map, or bear with us for the second part, which is equally important for players. We've resolved a number of issues, including the much-anticipated fix for the bass boat shaking bug, when the screen was shaking after hitting an object when driving a bass boat. Additionally, in response to feedback from players with special hearing needs, we've adjusted the Hell Bell sound, lowering its frequency to ensure that everyone can hear it clearly and comfortably.

Another exciting new feature is the redesigned UI for the Competitions rules section. Players will now be able to easily see the equipment, lures, or baits required for each competition, and if they are already equipped in the inventory, a green check will appear next to them. This feature is just the first iteration and will be refined in future updates, but we hope this small change will enhance the player experience by reducing confusion and making it easier to prepare for competitions.

One particularly amusing issue that has now been addressed involved extending the field for the credits balance. This adjustment became necessary because one of our players achieved the maximum possible amount of in-game currency! What an incredible milestonecongratulations on this remarkable achievement! The field has now been expanded to accommodate even higher balances. Way to go!

6. Addressed an issue blocking player interaction after reopening the game client during a tournament.
7. Resolved the problem where the player's previous competition results window returned them to the shore.

UI and Graphics Improvements
8. Redesigned the Template Received and Cooldown windows.
9. Fixed the wrong color of buttons on Repair and Wear & Tear modal windows.
10. Enhanced the Buy/Sell windows with better clarity and usability.
11. Adjusted the incorrect item quantities displayed in the Mission tab.
12. Corrected blurred user avatar images on the profile tab.
13. Fixed UI alignment issues, such as misplaced "check" icons during boat purchases.

On the Dnipro River, the rental boat comes equipped with two rod holders created specifically for trolling with spinning and casting rods. This means that every angler visiting the location can experience freshwater trolling simply by renting this boat.


For those looking to troll across various freshwater locations in the game, the Dnipro Motor Boat is your go-to companion. This locally produced classic boasts an authentic Ukrainian design, embodying the style and craftsmanship of its heritage. Equipped with two rod holders and powered by a 75-horsepower Neptune motor, it delivers stable and efficient performance. The Dnipro River, a symbol of Ukraines strength, flows through Kherson, and weve long dreamed of creating a Ukrainian location inspired by the landscapes and spirit of our home. We wanted to preserve and share its beauty as it was in times of peace. Sadly, the war has scarred this place; in their retreat, russian forces destroyed a major dam, flooding vast areas and triggering an ecological disaster.

In the face of this, were determined to honor the spirit of Ukraine and the enduring beauty of the Dnipro. Our upcoming location captures the rivers serenity and vibrancy before all the destruction, offering you a chance to experience a place that means the world to us. Its a place our team has known and loved since childhood, filled with memories and a connection to the natural wonders that we grew up with.

The whereabouts of the explorer and the fate that befell him remain shrouded in mystery. Many pages of the diary have not survived, and some are heavily damaged. We have prepared a huge bug fix patch for you today.
Weve taken your feedback into account regarding XP and credits for fish in Kaiji No Ri and have made some adjustments. The prices for fish have increased, and you'll now earn more XP when trolling with saltwater gear. XP in Fishing Together sessions has also been boosted - the more players on the boat, the more XP each of you will receive. Additionally, dont forget that you get an XP bonus when fishing with your club mates, so fishing with them on the same boat is always a win-win.

Weve also modified the fish fights, making it easier to reel in big catches faster, and as a result allowing you to gain more XP in less time.

After receiving feedback about the Fishing Together Mastering Missions being too difficult, we've made some adjustments to make them more achievable. The amounts of fish needed to catch in all three missions have been reduced. The name of the mission "Fishing Together Hunt: Plugs" was changed to "Fishing Together Hunt: Trolling", and plugs are no longer required lures for completing the mission, now you can use any trolling lures of your choice.

Dear Players,
We have some important information for those participating in the Independence Trout Open 2024. We received a few questions and want to clarify things for everyone.

Firstly, some players couldn't join the Tournament today because they couldn't find the Join button. Recent UI changes have altered its appearance. Please see the attached screenshot for a demonstration of the new layout. You can still participate in Q2 and Q3, and we hope this resolves any difficulties.

Secondly, there have been changes to some Tournament conditions compared to last year. This time, only spinning and casting rod setups can be used in the Tournament. In the Tackle Types section, we listed Barbless Jig Heads, Barbless Hooks, Barbless Spoons, and Barbless Spinners. Some players pointed out that Barbless Hooks can't be used with Spinning and Casting Rods. You are correct, and we apologize for this mistake. We will correct it in the next tournament. Unfortunately, we can't change it now, as any adjustments would require extensive testing by our QA team. Thank you for your understanding.

Additionally, with the Ocean Update, saltwater rods were added to the game. Please ensure you distinguish between casting rods and saltwater casting rods, and spinning rods and saltwater spinning rods, to meet the competition or tournament requirements and choose the correct setup.

We have just released another patch addressing bug fixes and improvements reported over the past few days. While there are still a few issues we're actively working on, rest assured these will be resolved in the next hotfix patch. Currently, these bans are temporary, but this is for the last time, and they will become permanent if those players attempt to use cheating software again. Responding to some concerns about us joining the list of games that use Denuvo anti-cheat, we want to assure you that Denuvo operates with minimal impact on performance, ensuring a smooth gaming experience, and prioritizes user privacy, collecting only necessary data to prevent cheating. This improvement was primarily made to fulfill our community's request, and we firmly believe it will ensure a safe and fair gaming environment for all.

Lastly, weve been receiving many questions about the release of the Ocean Update for consoles and mobile platforms. We know youre eagerly awaiting this update and appreciate your enthusiasm. The ocean update has turned out so huge that we needed to take some more time to optimize it better for smooth performance on all the devices. If a regular fishing trip feels boring to you, if you want to show off your honed skills, if you love the spirit of competition this is for you! Dont waste your time: go register for the Tournament. Participants and spectators will have a whole week to enjoy the thrill of the fight. The tournament will take place at picturesque locations in the US and Germany. However, you will hardly have time to enjoy the view, since the clash is likely to turn fierce! You will be fishing for the toughest predators using a spinning or casting rod from your boat. The type of qualifying fish depends on the location.

The Tournament will take place from June 11th through 16th. Over this period well hold Qualifiers, Semi-Finals, and Finals. You need to register 24 hours before Qualifiers start dont miss the deadline! The first registration begins on June 10th.

Yesterday marked a historic day for Fishing Planet with the release of the Ocean Update, and we're thrilled to see your excitement! We've received tons of feedback from you, and while many of you are loving the new ocean features, we know there are a few things you didn't like as much. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, so we wanted to address some of the most talked-about issues before we share the list of bug fixes and improvements.

We've heard your concerns about the Denuvo Anti-Cheat software. We want to assure you that Denuvo is designed to prioritize user privacy, collecting only the necessary data to prevent cheating. In the first 24 hours, we identified and dealt with many cheating players, helping to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Some of you have mentioned that reels wear out quickly when using max drag. We understand this makes the gameplay more challenging, but max drag wasn't intended to be used the way it has been. This change is meant to make the game feel more realistic. To keep your reels in good shape, try to avoid using max drag continuously.

Last but not least, regarding the time-forward cooldown during nighttime: we initially enabled it because many fish species are active at night. However, after hearing your feedback, weve decided to revert this change. There will no longer be a nighttime cooldown, so you can enjoy uninterrupted gameplay.

  New map with an enormous 400 sq km (almost 100,000 acres) of ocean, home to 18 dynamically moving fish species, including Bluefin Tuna, Striped Marlin, Mahi Mahi, plus Bigfin Reef Squid, among others. Accessible to players at level 83, with a new maximum level cap raised to 90, this expansive location offers a wealth of new challenges and opportunities. As customary in Fishing Planet, players of lower levels can unlock access to the map by purchasing a DLC pack with a pond pass for 30 and even 60 days. This time, we're offering two DLC packs, providing you with greater flexibility and convenience in choosing their preferred option!
  

• Ocean water simulation

  As a standout feature that deserves extra attention, incredibly lifelike ocean water simulation, complete with various types of waves, including intense storms. The ocean's appearance will dynamically change based on weather conditions and wind patterns, offering a truly captivating experience. • Sea Life Simulation System

Immerse yourself further with additional elements such as cruise liners, regattas, and trawler boats, creating a vibrant and lifelike maritime environment that dynamically changes depending on the time of the day and weather.
  

• Fishing Together

  Now, you can enjoy fishing with 2, 3, or 4 players on the same boat, depending on your chosen vessel. Invite your fellow anglers for a fishing party, and even let them take the wheel if you fancy. Plus, you'll earn an additional XP bonus for Fishing Together! The more anglers you have onboard, the higher the bonus for each of you. And if you're all clubmates, you'll also receive the club room XP bonus. Fishing Together also implies that the players share common fishing conditions: common bite rate, weather, and time for all participants. Rest assured it doesnt mean that your fellow anglers can catch all of the fish and leave not Dive into an exclusive series of group missions and achievements, tailored specifically for Fishing Together, a first in Fishing Planet!
  

• Brand new fishing yachts for ocean fishing

  All the new boats are compatible for Fishing Together sessions. Rent a boat for two players using in-game credits, or opt for the Scutum and Volans Fishing Yachts accommodating 3 and 4 players respectively, available in DLC packs. All boats feature two rod holders for each player, allowing one more additional rod in hands. Theres no longer a need for a keepnet when fishing on a boat, as all boats are now equipped with ample built-in fish storage. Equipped with state-of-the-art FishFinders 360, these vessels detect fish across surface, mid, and bottom water layers. Navigate with precision using the new Detailed Navigation Map, Echo Sounder, Compass, and Speedometer panel.
  

• In addition to the boat control panel equipment

  Players get new Tablet software that will have not only usual tools such as already familiar to players marker buoys, but also new Navigation buoys, and additional Tabs with Echo Sounder and Fish Finder 360, which will become available after players complete special Maintenance Adventures missions.
  

• Navigation buoys

  New special buoys, available on the new location, used to mark your favorite fishing spots and teleport among them for fast and easy exploration of such a vast location.
  

• Over 500 new saltwater items

  Over 500 new saltwater items are now available in local and global shops! These additions include delicious fresh baits like spiny lobsters, flying squid, gutted fish, and innovative saltwater lures such as pilkers, plugs, squid jigs, bucktails, trolling octopuses, and teasers like squid chains.   Fishing technique used in the ocean where one or more fishing lines, baited with lures or baitfish, are drawn through the water behind a moving boat. This method targets various saltwater species, including larger pelagic fish like tuna, marlin, etc. which are known to chase moving prey. Saltwater trolling is a dynamic and exciting way to fish, offering anglers the opportunity to cover large areas of water and target a variety of species in different oceanic conditions.
  

• Free spool mechanics

  Which will enhance your fishing experience, especially for bottom fishing at great depths. This feature is available on all reels in the game, whether for saltwater or freshwater fishing. It allows for precise control of your line, enabling free immersion of lures or sinkers to significant depths with an open spool and securing the line at the desired depth with a closed spool. This added functionality offers greater accuracy, especially when the bottom topography is unknown and considering the fact that the depth of the ocean will be more than 100 meters at many spots, making it easier to target specific depths and fish species.

  After many player requests, The Reel of Fortune is finally available on Steam.
  

• Time forwarding cooldown has been added during nighttime

  The day cooldown was originally implemented when night fishing wasn't part of the game, the night cooldown became necessary later on. Considering the numerous fish species in the ocean actively biting during both day and night, adding the night cooldown was essential with this update. An important thing to note is that there wont be any cooldown for forwarding time to the next morning when selling fish.

  UPD:

  After hearing players' feedback, weve decided to revert this change. There will no longer be a nighttime cooldown, so you can enjoy uninterrupted gameplay.

• Changes in deterministic user-generated competitions

  As requested by players, there will be less randomness. The weather and bite rates now match real conditions on the waterways, meaning dedicated training will give you a better chance to win, making the process more fair and rewarding.
  

• New start screen

  While the game loads, you'll now see a stunning 3D ocean scene featuring boats, birds, dolphins, and a whale breaching the water.
  

• New settings options

  Players can now adjust the volume of boat sounds and regulate water quality with more precision.
  

• Numerous bug fixes and enhancements

  Have been implemented, including updates to the reel damage system and drag behavior to eliminate exploits related to the "unbreakable setup. Weve also implemented a new wear system for tackles: freshwater items will wear out faster in ocean water, just as they do in real life. Fishing in the open sea introduces a host of new challenges, including new fish species, unpredictable weather conditions, and a completely different water consistency.

The fish in the ocean are notably larger, requiring significantly more powerful setups to fight and reel them in. With depths reaching up to 500 meters in some places, anglers need heavier sinkers for bottom fishing. New tackle materials provide enhanced resistance to saltwater corrosion for durability in the ocean. Additionally, fishing from a boat, rather than the shore, requires equipment that can handle the movement while trolling and the formidable fight of larger ocean fish.

This April, get ready for a challenge! Dust off your best gear, hone your fishing skills, and enter the first world bass fishing tournament, the World Bass Tour!

The tournament will last from April 9 through 14, with registration starting on April 8, one day before the first qualifying stage.

Three qualifying stages will determine 60 best anglers who will advance to the Semifinals. The top 20 anglers of the Semifinals will then compete in the final battle to become Bass Champion.

Through the water expanses of the Everglades, the swampy shores of Louisiana, the tropical Marron River youll find yourselves in the Amazon jungle; and then be ready for the final battle on the Blue Crab Island, Mississippi!

Heres the tournament schedule:

• April 9: Qualifier 1 at Everglades, Florida.
• April 10: Qualifier 2 on the swampy expanses of Quanchkin Lake, Louisiana.

In this update weve implemented significant enhancements, including the improvements of minor restrictions that work in the way that players will get less club points when using heavy tackles to catch smaller fish. This adjustment works similar to XP and affects the Club points system aiming to prevent excessive farming.
Additionally, we've refined the system for deducting club points when a player leaves a club or is kicked from it by the President. Essentially, all club points acquired by the player will be withdrawn from the club's balance.

Wow! That was one huge fishing battle! The Final Round of Christmas Giants Tour was the greatest fishing showdown between the 20 top-league heavyweight anglers! In today's update, we addressed several important issues connected to Leagues:

Fixed the timing of Club Points calculation for the competitive activity started before the beginning of the Season. There were a few cases of incorrect reward for the competitive activity on the first day of the Season that are solved with this update. The rewards correction will be performed today.

Added Club Points Penalty for using too strong tackle for fishing small fish. Like with an XP modifier, when debiting Club Points for a caught fish, the difference between the maximum tackle load and a fish weight will be taken into account.

Other bug fix:

• Fixed an issue with an incorrect hint in the Tutorial
• Fixed an issue with an incorrect replacement of a lure on a spinning setup template from the Wild Africa pack

Season:

• A period of time when competitions are held.
• Clubs compete for the main rewards and the top place during this time.
  

Championships:

• The main component of a season that divides the season time into smaller segments.
• Clubs gain club points and receive evaluations during the championship.
  

Division:

• An organizational element during a championship.
• As there could be around 300 clubs during the championship, dividing by divisions helps rank clubs and provides more chances for evaluation and potential advancement to the next league.
• Similar to dividing by groups.
  

League:

• A ranking element based on the competitive activities of a club and the amount of club points it earned. Represents evaluation levels, ranging from The Beginner to the most advanced Legendary League.
  

Club Points:

• An evaluation element influencing the club's position in the leaderboard and the final evaluation for determining the winner of the season. Can only be gained through club activities (Fishing in the same club room, winning competitions and tournaments) during an active Season.
  

Club Tokens:

• A new in-game currency specific to the club. Obtainable during the season or through the in-game store. Can be spent on Club-Series Items (coming soon) or club-related items. It cannot be exchanged for other in-game currencies.

Mighty Carp Tour Announcement
Behold the mighty Carp! And welcome the opening Tournament of the fall season - this Septembers bottom fishing excitement of Mighty Carp Tour! Although somewhat undervalued in North America, this all-time European favorite game fish is quite a fun challenge to catch. Thats why were eager to bring this competitive Carp fishing experience your way and see you work that angling magic on the hardest freshwater fish to fool into biting! Those of you who embark on this competitive fishing journey are in for an unforgettable trip through some of the world's most amazing fishing destinations - from the Italian charm of the Tiber River, the sunny magnificence of San Joaquin Delta in USA and hardcore reality of the Germany Lake in the first three Qualifiers, to the vast openness of Sander Baggersee Lake for the Semifinal Round and finally, the enigmatic Weeping Willow Lakes fishery in Great Britain, where the ultimate Top-20 Carp catchers will have the chance to fight in the Grand Finale for the title of Mighty Carp Master!

Mighty Carp Tour will be held September 12th through September 17th, with the Registration starting on September 11th, 24 hours prior to the First Qualifier.

The Tournaments timetable is as follows:

• 11th of September - Registration for the Tournament begins.
• 12th of September - Qualifier 1 on the Tiber River in Italy.
• 13th of September - Qualifier 2 on San Joaquin Delta in California, USA.

We really appreciate your ideas and suggestions, and we're going to work on gradually incorporating them into the game after thorough testing. Your input has been crucial in making Fishing Planet better for everyone!

Clubs:

• Fixed incorrect appearance of some flags when creating Clubs or choosing the location of club origin;
• Added additional information into the Club description about the minimal level required for Club creation or joining an existing one;
• Fixed the incorrect display of the Club name with the maximum symbols;
• Displaying of the club logo in the Player Info tab fixed.
  

• Fixed the issue with the twitchy animation while using the pulling-up mechanic;
• Twitching animation improvements: polishing the forearm and wrist animation and making rod behavior more flexible. Increasing the range of rod movements when reeling in objects or fish of varying weights. (spinning rod animations. Stay tuned for casting rod animations).
• Improved sleeve and arm animation for widescreens;
• Improved spinning animation after the fish comes off the leash;
• Minor twitching animation polishing;
• Added visual effects for horizontal tackle load indicator;

Thank you all for the feedback! We appreciate it a lot, and will keep doing our best in implementing your ideas and suggestions. It was necessary for us to hear it and take it into account. As you all mentioned a lot about the landing net issues and breakage of the reel while catching big fish, we are implementing your feedback with this Patch, including some improvements.
Clubs:

• Added possibility to create Clubs with longer Names and more symbols in it;
• Localization fixes. Changed the word "Country" to "Location", since the list of club "Countries" includes not only countries but also regions;
  

• Reel breakage system adjustments. Increased time for the breakage and durability level of the reel during overload;
• Please note that broken reels, obtained from the fishing packs, can be repaired!
• Slight adjustments for the Landing Net system. Reduced period of handing fish out of the water to avoid the use of the Landing Net;
• Landing Net will be disabled by default, for the new players. You can turn it on/off(for those who had it already in use) in the in-game settings;
• Turned off the obligatory usage of Landing Net in competitions;
• Fixed issue with alarms on the rod stands. In certain situations, the rod stand might not provide an audible signal, and the fish gets away due to the lack of hookset;
• Fixed an issue with catching the fish before it gets tired and improper catch;
• Fixed the exploit of getting huge fish with low-level setups.
  

• Fixed issues with incorrect 3D appearance for X-Series UltraCast 210 rod;
• Fixed incorrect line behavior when catching underwater items;
• Twitching animation improvements, including polishing the avatar of the player and adding more flexibility to it;

We are constantly improving our in-game fishing techniques and creating new fishing opportunities for our players.
We want to introduce you to Pulling-up! It is a new fishing mechanic we are very excited to implement.

Pulling-up consists of constant repeatable actions of sharply pulling the line, losing the line, reeling in the loose line and pulling it sharply again.

When fishing for a heavyweight fish, it is very important to safely take it out of water. In such cases we commonly use a landing net.

Landing Net
For fish over 5 kg there is a landing net system as it is necessary to make sure big fish is caught safely.

The fish under 5kg is caught without a landing net, for the fish from 5 kg the landing net is not used only if the max load of the weakest element of the tackle is much stronger than the weight of the fish.
However in some cases the landing net cant be used even if the fish is big enough, such as:

• Not enough time passed since the strike;
• Fish is too high above the surface or too deep below the water;
• Fish is not tired enough;
• Player is not looking towards the fish or there are obstacles between the player and the fish;
• While fishing from the boat, fish are not positioned in the area suitable for landing net usage.
  

• New reel rotation indicator;
• Updated line breaking system during overloads plus new fishing line or leash breaks Indicator;
• Updated wear system for lines and leaders;
• Updated reel breakage system: when the pressure is higher than the maximum the reel will start breaking. So be careful!
• New pulling up system for the large fish (fishing rod behavior optimization while pulling up, much more efficient);
• Fish behavior optimization;
• The system of big fish coming off the hook has been updated. If your tackle is not ready for a big catch the fish will come off without damaging it.

We want to introduce you to Pulling-up, a new fishing mechanic we are very excited to implement.

As our mission is to create a fishing experience that is as close to real life as possible, we constantly improve our in-game fishing techniques and create new fishing opportunities for our players.

An angler can easily reel in the line at maximum speed when fishing for small fish. However, as the size of the fish increases, it becomes more and more difficult to spin the reel. A certain threshold occurs when force is applied to a heavy load, so our point is to reduce side effects and expand your fishing experience by bringing in a new pulling-up mechanic.


Pulling up consists of constant, repeatable actions of sharply pulling the line, losing the line, reeling in the loose line and pulling it sharply again.
There are a few ways to pull the line sharply:

• Sharply raise the rod up (RMB (PC), LT (XBOX), L2(PS))
• Body rotation (mouse movement (PC), right stick of the controller (PS/Xbox)
• Character movement (character movement buttons (PC), left controller stick (PS/Xbox))

Independence Trout Open will be held July 4th through July 9th, with the Registration starting on July 3rd, 24 hours prior to the First

Qualifier. The Tournaments timetable is as follows:

• 3rd of July - Registration for the Tournament begins.
• 4th of July - Qualifier 1 on Colorados Rocky Lake.
• 5th of July - Qualifier 2 on Lake Saint-Croix in Michigan.

Are you ready to get early access to Fishing Planet Clubs and New Fishfight?

If you are a Steam player with the level 15+, grab your chance to join Closed Beta Testing (CBT).
To join the testing team you need to fill out the registration form.

The number of spots is limited, so hurry up. The players who will submit an application form and meet all the necessary requirements will get a chance to receive Early Access and join Closed Beta.

All the information about CBT next steps will be sent to the confirmed players after admission is closed, so please fill the form carefully and read all the information provided in it.

The Closed Beta Testing will be available from July 4th for about two weeks and only on Steam!

During the Closed Beta, you will be able to intimately explore the early version of Clubs and New Fishfight and provide a dev team with your feedback. This includes a first taste and access to all Clubs features in all locations.

For the Close Beta Testing, you will get a duplicate of your main Fishing Planet account, with additional baitcoins on balance, that will be deactivated after the end of the CBT. The progress achieved during CBT will not be transferred to the players main account. Make sure you include all the required information in the application form along with your Discord username. All the CBT communication will be through Fishing Planet official Discord Server.

By the end of CBT all the successful participants will get a reward - Beta Tester Cap and 100 baitcoins on their main Steam account.

The admission deadline is Monday, 3rd of July.

At some point we thought that the Gulf of Mexico would start to boil because of this insane race! The Blue Crab Island Semi-Finals turned out to be a blast. Not surprising, since so many fantastic anglers gathered in one place, and with so many predators among their catch! We welcome all anglers on this beautiful day and are happy to share some news with you! In June, Fishing Planet locations will host a boat predators tournament Fishing Planet Boat Series. If a regular fishing trip feels boring to you, if you want to show off your honed skills, if you love the spirit of competition this is for you! Dont waste your time: go register for the Tournament. Prove to everyone that you are the best angler and earn not only recognition but also fantastic prizes, including Credits, BaitCoins, and unique items.

And the three best Champions will become proud owners of new X-Series Bass Boats and FPBS FlameChamp Cap!

Participants and spectators will have a whole week to enjoy the thrill of the fight. The tournament will take place at picturesque locations in the US and Germany. However, you will hardly have time to enjoy the view, since the clash is likely to turn fierce! You will be fishing for the toughest predators using a spinning or casting rod from your boat. The type of qualifying fish depends on the location.

The Tournament will take place from June 13th through 18th. Over this period well hold Qualifiers, Semi-Finals, and Finals. You need to register 24 hours before Qualifiers start dont miss the deadline!

The first registration begins on June 13th.

• 13th - Qualifier 1 at the picturesque Saint-Croix Lake, Michigan;
• 14th - Qualifier 2 amid the Bavarian views of Lake Sander Baggersee in Germany;

Welcome to the second diary of our diary series about the upcoming updates!
Today we introduce the upcoming feature we put lots of energy and passion into. With the positive feedback we have received after briefly announcing it in the previous diary we are very excited to tell you more about Clubs.

In-game friends identification and playing together is certainly very important to all players so we decided to create a new tool and an opportunity for you to manage your own friends environment in Fishing Planet.

So anglers, get ready! If your rod is cast while reading, dont forget about the bell, so you dont miss your fish, and lets dive deeper into the Club community!

Introducing the Clubs!
We had an idea of creating clubs since the beginning of Fishing Planet and it was our must-have feature that we were exploring, developing and polishing. We took our time to make it useful, convenient and fun for every member of the Fishing Planet family.


Now we will explain a bit what you will get with the release of Clubs

Clubs will give you the opportunity to be in touch with your fishing friends and like-minded people all around while playing Fishing Planet, while sharing great time and creating your fishing history together. They are built for players to interact with each other in a virtual environment as if they would go on a fishing trip together.


Joining a Club you will have an expanded range of communication features, for example, a special chat where you can exchange baits and marker buoys. Youll also get a unique club room for fishing together, which allows you to receive an additional experience bonus for catching fish!


As we mentioned before, the most important benefit will be a chance to start building a friendly community or join the existing one. While browsing the list of clubs you will learn more about them from the short description including the country of the origin, which will make it easier to choose the most suitable community.


When creating a new Club first of all, you will need to select a Club Name and add a Description. Important recognition sign for every Club will be the Club Logo. It will help to visually recognize players and their friends inside Fishing Planet and highlight their unique fishing community.
The logo can be created by using in-game club logo editor with all available elements in it.


After creating your Club, any player can be invited to join. All club members will be able to invite new players. Club membership will be available for all players with no level restriction, but creating a club is only available to players of level 5 and higher. Also, please be aware that the minimum level of club members is determined by the Club President when the club is being created.


The chat will be another huge advantage of participating in clubs. It only includes the club members, so that all clubmates are always in touch.


Clubs in Fishing Planet are created for the groups of players who come together to socialize, collaborate and participate in various activities, it is also an ongoing adventure and a place to grow your skills and progress together. The club you join will become a perfect space to share fishing information and experience between members.


Clubs are very important to us. This is the project of our dear colleague, who put his heart into this update.Volodymyr Egov, who designed clubs and leagues, was killed defending Bakhmut, Ukraine. We are heartbroken but not stopped because making his ideas happen is one of the ways for us to celebrate his life and continue his legacy.

We hope it will become a platform for connecting players with different skills, knowledge and level with the main goal to experience fishing on a new level!


The lubs are in its final stages of testing and improvement and coming in a few weeks.

So, these are the first steps in introducing clubs to you guys, but whats coming after is even more exciting! There will be competitive activities among clubs, which will be rewarded with exciting prizes. In order to run these activities, there must be a lot of clubs. This is why we really count on your active involvement because there is so much more to come!


We hope you like the clubs as much as we do and well be able to launch a Club League Season very soon!
