Mac Support!

Hey everyone, were very excited to bring you some new massive updates!

The major news is that weve added Mac support, were working on native Apple Silicon support but at the moment the game runs great on both Intel and Apple Silicon through Rosetta 2.
Adventure In Aellion also supports cross-platform play between Mac and Windows PC so you dont have to worry about leaving anyone out.
Our work on Mac support has taught us all a great deal and hopefully well be able to use that experience to bring Adventure In Aellion to Linux and other platforms in the near future!

Our next piece of news is that weve gone through a major engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.27
Because of this the game runs better, has improved lighting and helps to support our work to move the game to one persistent level so players in multiplayer can travel wherever they want without worrying about the level the other players are on!

Weve been working hard on these updates and we apologise for the time it took to get this update out, creating a Mac version proved quite challenging but we got there. A few supporters have been asking for a project roadmap and thats something we want to post sooner rather than later. We have had to change our own time estimates due to how much work this new update took. we would definitely like to get the new dungeon in at least a playable teaser state for you all by summer, including the persistent level loading.

Holiday Update!

Hey everyone,
Here's our final update of the year in time for the Holidays! Were bringing you a couple new character customisation options and more fixes as we get ready to launch on new platforms next year!

We're also working on bringing all the dungeons onto one persistent level so that you no longer have to wait for all other players agreeing to move to a new area. This is a difficult process but we're getting there and this will help the world and game play feel drastically more natural.

October update

Hi everyone we're releasing an Inventory Update to better support multiplayer alongside some new hats being released for the Spooky month!

The updated inventory system allows for better equipment management for both single and multiplayer. Players will be able to share equipment with each other and be able to drop and reequip armour and weapons correctly.

We are adding an exclusive free DLC to all Steam accounts that have bought the game so far and for anyone who buys before the end of September.
This DLC is the Anniversary Gift that unlocks a small collection of Crowns and Tiaras for the player to equip as an accessory in the Character Creator.

With this update we have laid the groundwork for future accessories and other additions so included in this update is a generic felt had alongside the limited Crowns to show how it works, with more customization option to come in the future!

Hey @everyone we've released a new update!
This brings new features like a Bracelet in Character Creator to easily visualise accessory colour and mouse support added to more menus!

June Update

Hey everyone Adventure in Aellion has an update adding a new item, the Bottle! Use it to carry potions and more to help you in combat or exploration. We've also added Potion Wells, so you can fill up on the go!

At the moment this is limited to just one Bottle and Health Potion but this update lays the groundwork for adding in more. We plan to let players carry up to 8 Bottles and include more bottle contents such as Magic Potions, Water etc but we're open to feedback on what you'd find interesting or helpful!

We also added some of this updates content earlier during the month as part of some small quality of life updates, mostly bug fixes.

May Update

It's time for our Whiplatch Update focused on improving various player items and interactions in-game!

This month has been about improvements to various tools and other interactive elements based on feedback and further testing while we work on new content. So the Whiplatch will now perform as intended with updated mechanics and UI

Alongside the Whiplatch, there have been other improvements like updating the interactive switches found throughout the world and dungeons of Aellion. This brings them more in line with the aesthetics of the other magical elements within the world as well as being clearer to the player their utility.A dull grey means the switch is inactive and cannot be used. Glowing gold means the switch is ready to be used and a blue glow lets the player know it is in use or has been toggled.

April Update!

Hi everyone
This month was focused on Multiplayer Improvements while we work on the next Dungeon.

Many puzzles and enemies have had updates to be more stable in multiplayer such as push blocks no longer freezing/stuttering for clients and Goblins applying damage correctly while noticing all players.

Last month we had to limit multiplayer to two players per game as a new bug had appeared that would kick players if more joined, we have since fixed this bug and many more so now up to four players can adventure together!

To those of you that have a bank holiday weekend we hope you enjoy the time off

Hey Everyone, Another monthly update and we've focused again on Quality Of Life updates and fixes suggested by our community!

The big behind-the-scenes stuff included collision overhauls on the Rune Tower and Ameria Crypts which should substantially increase performance in those levels, especially if you have an older computer!

Another is a QoL for our Early Access players helping us with feedback, a Level Select option on the Main Menu. When you select the play option you'll have the option to either continue or start a new save, from there you can choose to go to the open world like normal or start in one of our dungeons with the items and gear needed, give it a try if you want to get straight into the action!

Other updates include more details being added to dungeons, enemy AI improvements and many fixes to bugs found by our great players, Thank You!

We're not done yet with just this update, some bugs and improvements will take a bit longer to implement and so our next few updates will focus on polishing what has been built so far while we work in the background on new content for the Spring.

Tweaks, polishes and upgrades!

Hello adventurers, and a happy new year! We hope your festive season was filled with memorable adventures.

For us, the team at Aellion HQ, the beginning of this year is all about making sure the current dungeons, weapons, creatures and quests in Adventure in Aellion are the best they can be before we add anything brand new.

Weve been gathering player feedback throughout our time in Early Access, and a lot of these changes and improvements will be made based on real ideas, changes and thoughts weve received from players from our Discord and Steam community!


Sharpening the way things look is a big priority for us.

Over the next few months, youll be seeing a lot of quality of life changes, which are improvements well be making to how Adventure in Aellion runs and feels to play, as well as aesthetic changes too. This includes a total overhaul of the games lighting which will totally update how the game looks.


Lighting can create awesome effects and completely change how a dungeon feels!

Explore The Ameria Crypts in this month's update!

As the year comes to a close, and before we hang up our adventuring boots for a well-deserved break, were introducing an exciting new update full of new gameplay previews and quality of life changes.

This month, you can preview the deep dark depths of The Ameria Crypts, our brand new dungeon. Hidden below the cathedral in Ameria, the crypts are home to the final resting place of royals, nobles and other important Amerians. The peace of the crypts is disturbed, however, and an evil power has seeped into their eternal sleep and threatens the city above if nothing is done to lay the undead to rest


Dark mysteries await in the depths of the Ameria Crypts

This dungeon introduces a new enemy type - the Undead, who can be slowed and knocked down with mortal weapons but will continue to get back up and fight. The only way to defeat them once and for all is to find a mysterious and powerful weapon hidden deep within the crypts: Lumerias Staff.


Will you find Lumerias Staff and harness its power?

The Ameria Crypts also introduce new gameplay features to enrich your dungeon experience, including ladders and magical switches. We are also hard at work designing the final boss for the dungeon, which you can test your mettle against early next year!

To trial the dungeon preview chat to Farinn, the friendly Vandrmark by the tutorial ruins exit, who will be able to send you on your way.

Alitha Update





Hello everyone, this month we have an over world update to expand the playable area and opened up the Vandrmark village of Alitha with new characters to talk to and a short side quest to go on as we work out the quest systems going forwards.
This update mainly deals with things behind the scenes such as bug fixes and networking that arent super flashy at the minute but will create a better experience going forwards, mostly in service to our end of the year update coming next month!!!

Visit a brand new village to the north, home to our friends the Vandr'mark!
Meet many new villagers and learn a bit about their culture
Introducing an early side quest system, talk to the Vandrmark group next to the river camp and help them on their way.
Added a helpful NPC called Farinn who will take returning players to certain areas.
Expanded some NPC dialogue and added some portals to help reach previously accessed areas
Improved persistence and networking in open world. Objectives already completed in a session should be in the correct state when people join. If we missed anything let us know, currently only in effect in the open world.
Background work for persistence. Though not fully in yet, we have laid the groundwork for persistence in dungeons so things you do will stay if you leave.

Welcome to Alitha!

Welcome to another update adventurers!

While you have been busy embarking on quests, solving puzzles and fighting monsters, we have been working behind the scenes on some super exciting content and quality of life updates to the game.

Get ready to explore Alitha, a quaint little village full of big adventures and even bigger secrets!


The friendly townsfolk are ready to welcome you!

Alitha will expand the playable area in the game, and introduce a whole host of new characters for you to get to know. As exciting as this is, were not done yet! The update will also add a fast travel option for returning players, allowing you to get back to dungeon diving and treasure hunting much easier outside of the tutorial.

As always, we have also squashed some bugs and tweaked some animations to continue improving your gameplay experience in the world of Aellion.

Make sure you sharpen your swords and don your best hiking boots because this update is coming out later today!

First Major Content Update!

Were proud to release our first major update! we are introducing the first dungeon boss in its early stages and also adding another section to the Rune Tower.
Besides those weve added plenty of bug fixes and quality of life improvements but well keep on working on these background improvements as they pop up so thanks to all those who have contributed to the game testing channels!

-Brand new boss. Fight the Mech at the summit of the mysterious Rune Tower
-Two new floors to the Rune Tower
-Key rebinding functionality
-New and optimized in-game pause menu
-Numerous bug fixes including:


  • Fixed rune tower spawn issue
  • Improved collisions in Rune Tower and Gray Temple
  • Fixed issues with graphics settings
  • Fixed issues with elevators going to wrong floors, also unlocked the upper floors for you all to explore
  • Adapted all text (except some icons, they will come later) to work with rebound keys

-Known Issues

  • The Whiplatch and Bow target not accurate, also some anim issues
  • Shadow banding issues on high graphics settings (Medium shadows recommended for now)
  • Animations pause in some circumstances for Whiplatch

Bug fixes & update notes

Hello there, adventurers! Here's a short update with a few bug fixes and gameplay improvements we've made since our Early Access launch.

Rune Tower


  • Recreated the lift in the Rune Tower, and reworked the operation of the pushable walls to be a much smoother experience
  • Added an exit to the rune tower, you can now escape and try again later or explore other areas of Aellion!
  • General performance improvements


Gray Temple

  • Reworked the Gray Temple lift both visually and mechanically
  • Improved bomb-able areas in the temple to make them a bit easier to hit
  • Added a few more torches to help guide you through the temple



Controls

  • Increased the weight of bombs, meaning they should now be easier and more precise to control - so you can blow up exactly what you want!
  • Massively improved controller support
  • Optimised how dodge works when using a controller


Other

  • Improved how player death operates visually
  • Reworked the lighting system - the moon will now rise quicker and shine brighter, meaning it won't get as dark in the lands of Aellion!
  • Fixed several dialogue bugs when chatting to Kodak & Gjork

Hello, adventurer! We hope you're doing well. We've been busy working away on your feedback since we launched Adventure in Aellion into Early Access!



Just in case you missed our launch, you can grab the game for only 9.99/$9.99 and gain access to two full dungeons and the open world now. As we continue to update the game with new mechanics, equipment, stories and more, the price will change to match - so this is the best price you can grab it for!

Since launch, we've been working hard on bug fixes and quality of life changes to make the first adventure into the world of Aellion an awesome and smooth experience. We've really appreciated all the feedback sent via our Steam community page or Discord server!

That's right, after a difficult journey of development, live events and community feedback, we're so excited to launch Adventure in Aellion into Early Access!

The adventure doesn't stop there, as we have updates planned for Adventure in Aellion long into the future. We've shared a plan for these additions below - but keep in mind that with every new update, the price may go up. However, as soon as you buy it you get all updates and new content totally for free - so grab it now to make sure you get the best price!


[h2]The Roadmap of Adventure in Aellion for 2020[/h2]


  • September: A brand new boss battle! Bug fixes, and additional combat techniques.
  • October: Playable area is expanded to include a new area called 'Alitha Village'. Added lantern mechanics - such as use of fire and oil in and out of combat.
  • November: A new dungeon to be added called 'Ameria Crypts' - head out on a quest to stop the undead swarming Aellion and unlock a brand new magical weapon!
  • December: This is a month dedicated to bug fixes and player feedback, so if you share your ideas for new mechanics/areas/quests on our Discord, you may seem them appear in-game in December and onwards!


We're also currently working ensuring Adventure in Aellion runs smoothly on Linux machines - we know this is important to our community so it's a top priority!



As we've said all along, we couldn't have gotten this far without the awesome support of our community. It's been a tough journey, but we're incredibly proud of what we've made together.

Less than a week to go!

As we head towards our Early Access launch on August 26th - which is less than six days away! - we thought we'd give you a little insight onto how the world of Aellion is shaping up with some brand new screenshots of our latest build!

Here are some closer looks at not only some new lighting and cosmetic tweaks we've been making, but at what dungeons and areas you'll have to explore at Early Access.

Remember, if you want to check out our free beta ahead of launch, you can find it on our Discord! Our lovely community is the first place we go to to share new opportunities to play the game and we love incorporating your ideas into the game. Keep in mind that the beta build is only a glimpse of what we've been working on, there's many more surprises to come in the launch version!


Horses and horse-riding are one key feature we've been looking to improve.

Release Date Update

Hi there, all! We have a big announcement that's been a real tough decision to make, but we feel it's best for the future of Adventure in Aellion.

We're delaying the Early Access launch of the game to August 26th 2020. This is largely due to making sure we have the time to implement the awesome feedback we've had since launching the public beta. We really want to make sure this game is not only developed by us, but created together as a community.

Early Access release date announced - play the free beta now!

Hey there, adventurers! We have some exciting news to share today -


Adventure in Aellion will be launching into Early Access on 22nd July 2020!

We've been working incredibly hard to get to this point, and we can't wait to share Aellion with you and your friends soon.

To celebrate, we're also releasing our official beta build on our Discord! At the moment, it's only single-player, but we'll be soon releasing a multiplayer update for free so you can finally try out playing Aellion together at home.

Development Update - Early Access Approaching!

Hi there, Adventurers!

We want to thank you all for being so awesome - your support of Adventure in Aellion helps us make it the best adventure it can be.

So, in return, we want to keep you in the loop and give you a quick update on how development is going, and how close we are to releasing into Early Access.

Since our first appearance at EGX 2019, we've added to the game...


  • A brand new tutorial and brand new location for first-time players
  • An entirely new dungeon, filled with brand new puzzles to solve!
  • New weapons, armour and equipment to help you face the dangers of Aellion...
  • Totally redone artwork, which you can see on our Steam and Twitter pages!
  • Dynamic animations for combat and exploration
  • Ecology in monsters and animals - totally reworking how they react to you, and each-other


... and that's only the start!

With your support, especially through your help and feedback on our Discord server, Adventure in Aellion is shaping up to be something we're really excited to share with you - so keep your eyes peeled for an Early Access announcement soon!
