Hi gamers, this update trims the fat off of the opening section in places that feel unfocused. I added a few small details to Act 1 as well. This is mostly a way to get the game going a little faster to help onboard new players

Uncle Kenny The Game: Thanksgiving Update!!!

Hey gamers, I hope you are having a safe and great holiday this week. I\'m coming here live to drop a relatively substantial update to Unc that will further smooth out the Act 3 experience.

  • Coins have returned!! A majority of the Act 3 levels now have coins along your path.

  • New enemy type, the robot chase snail!

  • Two new portal test chambers!!

  • Security turrets in the hoverbike level can now be shot down!

  • Hoverbike levels have more exploration off-bike

  • Several levels have small additions to their level design

  • The introduction to the kids section now has crates and coins

  • Snail shells do more damage and can now hit other snails in Act 3.

Thank you gamers. At this point I am updating the game for the love of the grind. It still feels good to keep making improvements. For an ambitious third act there was almost no way I could have had everything ready for August 22nd, the scope creep was crazy. Some of the last levels have had a good overhaul since launch and the slow tweaking every now and then has made the game even better than it was on Act 3\'s launch. Adding the new portal levels had me realizing there is probably even more potential for this game\'s mechanics and would love to continue adding to this game alongside the feedback I get. Uncle Kenny was a passion project back in the day and remains a passion project now. I am so happy with how far this has all come, and the game is great!

I updated the Act 3 trailer to show more variety off and make the game more appealing. I think I was feeling the pressure of the launch when I was first editing the trailer and now with time and perspective I\'m glad I came back to polish that up too. Alright gamers, enjoy your holiday!!

Hi gamers, happy November!! I\'ve been getting some reports of crashing, so I moved Uncle Kenny from a Beta Gamemaker version to the main Gamemaker branch, hoping that fixes some random crashes on some machines.

Unc v1.35 (LEVEL UP SOUND)

GAMERS, VERY SMALL UPDATE, but I think it makes a huge difference in the way Act 3 feels to play.

WHATS NEW:

  • Updated level design for one of the very last levels in the game

  • Added a new sound effect when leveling up that greatly enhances that dopamine hit when it lands

  • Made the UI flash for way longer when a level-up happens

  • Behind the scenes, experimenting with adding another level to Act 1 that uses the grapple hook in smaller, more contained and traditional Act 1 level design. Just as a cute swan song to the game, returning to where some of the best mechanics all started. Won\'t be added for a while but something to look forward to, probably 5-10 mins of gameplay additions soon.

It\'s been a long month, but a great one! Let\'s welcome in the Fall season with some Uncle Kenny goodness

UNCLE KENNY THE GAME v1.2 SMALL FIXES PATCH 2

Another small one gamers, focused mainly on the end of the game, some small stuff I ran out of time to do on launch day.

[u]WHAT IS NEW BOY - [/u]

  • Rocket launcher multi-shot has been sadly nerfed instead of firing three rockets it fires two, its still overpowered but now the final boss and last levels should be a little bit more challenging with the upgrade.

  • Billy zombie attack level has a monitor for him to work on

  • Elevators in the final level have fixed and added graphics

    [/*]
  • Final boss has a new line of dialogue at the start.

  • Some of the boss names have been better aligned on the screen

  • Fixed a Hank co-op ammo glitch

  • Fixed an Act 1 leftover crash if you die will on a vine or ladder, thank u Othon <3

  • Weapons in Acts 1 and 2 have had their aiming reticles more defined on screen which helps especially when playing on controller or on a tv.

ACT 3 BETA 0.8 (JULY 30TH UPDATE) - CUTSCENES IN ACT 3! PORTALS!!

Gamers, sorry for the delay. Took some extra time to get cutscenes back together and get back into gear for working on this game. After 3 months straight of long hours working on it, I had a little bit of burnout, but now Im back in it 100 percent to the end! The game will come out August 22nd, which is an unfortunate delay, but necessary since I randomly decided to add the final evolution of the Uncle Kenny gameplay sandbox, portals!

We are in the endgame. I cant believe it\'s actually going to come out. It\'s been delayed just so damn much. But this is the best version of the game that could have existed. For my first ever video game, Im extremely proud of everything I was able to accomplish. I wouldnt have been able to do it without the amazing circle around me, helping add extra songs, graphics, and voice acting to the game. Thank you to everyone

NOTE TO ALL RETURNING PLAYERS: DELETE YOUR SAVEMENU SAVE FILE! GO TO %localappdata% using the Windows + R keys tool, then relaunch Uncle Kenny The Game!!

  • The first set of Act 3 cutscenes are in! Its about half, a solid start! Shoutout Kenny Rogers for drawing them. The cutscenes go up until the start of the UNDERGROUND level for now.

BETA 0.8 IS DELAYED TO JULY 20TH

Due to timing reasons. I want the cutscenes to be mostly in order. I need the five extra days to get various voice lines in and stuff to make the first half of act 3's story cohesive.

The build right now has some cutscenes in it and updated weapon sounds, but the full patch will be ready July 20th, Surprisingly, it has been the only delay to hit the 15 day update schedule, but it will be worth it trust.

Uncle Kenny Bonus Patch for 0.7 - New Tutorials, Tips, and bonus levels

Gamers, like I said on Sunday, a smaller patch was coming right after 0.7 launched. I ran out of time with too many ideas on that one so I got some quick work done before focusing on Beta 0.8 on July 15th.

[u]What's New?[/u]

  • Three new tutorial levels have been added, one for bullet parrying, one for radiation, and one for blue throwable walls.

  • A tip system has been added in case you're struggling on a level. It will remind you of abilities you have in case you forget in the midst of all that battle.

  • Fixed radiation, previously you could not throw up or down when looking to the left.

    [/*]
  • A few bonus levels have been added, which utilize radiation powers

    [/*]
  • The Smoke level has a few platforming-based levels at the end of it to let the player wind down after all of the chaos.

Things are becoming well-rounded in Uncle Kenny Act 3. Yesterday I realized that there isn't much left to work on. Once cutscenes are in, the game is almost basically ready for launch. Playtests will likely lead to more substantial gameplay changes. But, otherwise, the gameplay itself is pretty much set in stone.

I want to say thanks for your time gamers. The journey has been super long. But I hope you guys enjoy the project.

ACT 3 BETA 0.7 (JUNE 30TH UPDATE) -FINAL BOSS ROUGH DRAFT!! LEVELS ARE IN!!!

we finally hit it. Ive been ballooning the scope of the game over and over and over and over again. After almost FOUR YEARS of development time! Uncle Kenny The Game is now playable START TO FINISH! It has NEVER been this close to being done EVER!!!! I have been thinking about a day like this for years. And all that's left is just tinkering, polish, and cutscenes/dialogue. LET'S GO

  • Final Mission has every level now.

  • The final boss has been STARTED!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!! Its definitely my favorite one. There are multiple phases to it. The graphics need to be worked on more by Ava Huth the goat. And the final phase will be tinkered with a lot more. But its already goated.

  • The game can now be played start to finish. Act 2 used to always cut to credits. Now, it'll go straight to Act 3.

  • Grapple hook shots now break crates and other various objects! I dont know why Ive never added this before.

ACT 3 BETA 0.6 (JUNE 15TH UPDATE) - HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

This update has the final planned gameplay addition! We are so close now! Only the last level, and the final boss fight are left! Act 3 is long as hell now. I think the game was missing boss encounters, and their addition gives me a feeling of finality and content richness that I have never felt before with this game. Its becoming a complete package, and by June 30, all of the planned levels should be in. I'm sure the final boss will need work through July. But having every playable space in there in some way will be a massive closure for me. We are in the end times.

  • When you are close to a crate or other solid objects that you can throw, it will indicate yellow to show you which one has been selected, which Im a massive fan of.

  • 2 new boss fights, Hank the Survival Guy, and a twin boss.

  • Facility and underground levels are even further expanded with a new gameplay mechanic, player movable platforms

  • Vengeance level has been extended and mostly completed.

UNCLE KENNY BETA 0.5 (MAY 30TH) RELEASE!!

Gamers, this update has come after some juicy and critical playtests that have me going back and adding to levels that I had previously thought were completed. In that process, Ive developed a few new fun gameplay mechanics and Im super excited to get them out for the masses. Im definitely pushing the limits of what defines Uncle Kenny level design, something that has been lacking from Act 3 thus far. Were at 0.5 now! That marks halfway through this Beta process. Although, I would argue that we are closer to 1.0 than it looks.

WHATS NEW GAMER -
- Upgrade system has been majorly overhauled after extensive playtesting. Instead of level gating, the special upgrades unlock once the player has completed an amount of tasks in gameplay. This change should encourage players to seek out upgrades to their favorite weapons and gameplay mechanics.
- Cultists and Cultist Parasite Zombies now speak! More voices to come for them and army men
- Armor now requires a threshold of parries to upgrade.
- There is a new bossfight, the Uber Tank, when you get the rocket launcher.
- The Underground section now has several platforming and reflex based levels that greatly spice up the pacing.
- Similarly, the facility level now has platforming levels akin to the no weapon pace-breaker in act one, but this time with a few twists.
- The desert section has been expanded and now includes a set piece involving phosphorous bombs.
- Three new racing levels have been added to the vehicle section that encourage fast speeds to offset the more stop and shoot of the core shooting levels.
- The Hoverbike/Speeder can change directions faster and is overall more smooth to control.
- There is now a final set of speed and damage upgrades to each weapon after purchasing the special upgrade. Golden skin to come once all upgrades are purchased.
- A countless number of small balance changes after playtests. The following are some examples.
Parrying is buffed. Instead of upgrades in the shop, the upgrades are now automatically applied from the start.
- Parasite nest health lowered
- Grapple hook spots added to armory level to add more options during combat.
- Geode Crystals now come towards you even when stuck in the wall
- The music in the vehicle level should play correctly
- Leveling up takes slightly less time at every level.
- An enormous number of extra changes I cant really even recall. So much time has been going into this game that a lot of tweaks are hard to even remember. Were starting to get pretty close to the end.

UNC BETA 0.45 - Small Fixes/Additions to 0.4

Gamers! This small update was made in about like 4 hours. Still, there are some saucy quick additions to yesterdays big 0.4 update.

What's new:


General:
- If you turn music or sound effects off, it will stay consistent and not randomly turn back on now,
- Coins are no longer displayed in the main menu since it never worked correctly I don't know why I ever made it visible in the menu

Act 2:
- Fixed Mina boss health, enemy health is returned to original values

Act 3:
- Every enemy has new killed by explosion sprites.
- New sprites given to enemies that never had death sprites
- Added a new object, "health dispenser" to hover bike and underground levels to better balance the challenge.
- Many levels have been rebalanced to be slightly easier.
- The water rising level has had its difficulty slightly reduced to make it more fair.
- Music audio glitches have been patched.
- Last hoverbike level has an altered and improved layout
- Level following Armory area has been expanded to have more wind down time.
- Snowfall visual glitches fixed in the smoke level.
- Some Upgrade Room glitches patched.
- Tiny parasites can't be farmed as much past a certain player level with XP adjustments
- Fixed even more ammo shotgun bugs.


Smaller one but the differences here add up for sure especially the difficulty balance.

UNCLE KENNY BETA 0.4 (MAY 15TH) UPDATE!!!

Hi yall gamers. this update is coming with a dislocated knee that destroyed my timeline. Still, I've been able to get plenty done and I'm super excited to release this. The game is getting pretty damn good.

What's New!? -
- Three Semi-Finished levels.
- The first being Smoke, a level where army men and parasites fight each other in a tight
space.
- The second being Underground, the area introducing tanks, the rocket launcher, and the
pigeon - man boss fight
- The third being the Hoverbike level, with the mission being destroying 3 cores in each
level, getting off and on the vehicle.

- An introduction to the Vengeance level with a new cult leader enemy that shields all cultists until you take him out.
- Added new songs to levels, fixed a good amount of audio glitches
- Added a water escape level to the parasite facility area that will test your speed.
- Voiced army enemies! There are currently only 4 voices right now, but soon there should be something like 7 by release time.
- Level up indicator to make leveling up more obvious.
- Adjusted enemy health around Act 3.
- Added a flesh tearing sound to the scattergun.
Fixes to ammo drops, some of them would randomly drop Act 1 shotgun ammo instead of laser gun ammo.
- Reduced Laser gun ammo amounts.
- Lowered the health of the tank and the tier 2 army men enemies slightly.
- Fixes several miscellaneous bugs with the level up menu, and small issues.
- Stopped snails from being able to kill you even when you're invincible
- Controller players can now fire the vehicle grenades in the vehicle section.
- Act 2 wrench does the original amount of damage it used to have, lingering glitch of code updates last month

UNCLE KENNY ACT 3 BETA UPDATE: CONTROLLER SUPPORT AND NEW GAME PLUS!!!

GAMERS

This update is an in-between patch, where I reached a good amount of progress on two development milestones: controller support and new game plus.

The next major update is still on track for May 15th.


Global Controller Changes -
- Controller is now patched for act 3, now works start to finish!!!
- Going to shop has been moved to the select button
- This leaves the left shoulder button open, which can now either be an alternate key for telepathy or for grenades which can be changed in the options menu

NEW GAME PLUS!! (Early version) -
- When completing acts 1 and 2, you can now run through them again with every single weapon and ability unlocked. There are some obvious quirks and glitches, but simply having it is so much fun. This will have continuous updates.

Other changes -
- Main menu now has an ACT SELECTION box that clears up a lot of jank space in the menu and prevents from accidentally restarting acts in the menu.
- The major upgrades that occur every 5 levels in act 3 are much more visible to the player and the correct text will now show

Gamers! My finals are almost here, then I'll be knocking these out twice a month starting in May!


Here is the Uncle Kenny Beta Roadmap as of the launch of 0.3-

With all that out of the way... lets begin with Patch Notes of 0.3!!!


ACT 3-

  • Follower AI is now in the game! The kids can now run and shoot and talk!
  • The hoverbike now fires its own weapons instead of yours, vastly improving gameplay
  • Hoverbike engine is a little bit quieter to save everyone's ears
  • Hoverbike level has a goal now to break 3 cores, which will open the door at the end. There are now sentry shotguns that disable when the cores go down.
  • Desert level now has sandbag-like objects that break when hit with gunfire or grenades. Thinking about adding this to other levels once they are completed.
  • Tanks have more health.
  • Fixed music at the facility level.
  • Fixed some audio glitches
  • Buff army guys have been worked on, have a better AI and take more damage.
  • Pigeon Man slight boss tweaks.
  • Crates now drop rocket launcher ammo, but there will always only be one rocket
  • Introduced rage mode, which will appear late in the game, but as of this update can be used whenever you want when you get telepathy. Enemies are afraid of you, and you deal three times as much damage for 9 seconds! Returns back after 3 minutes.
  • You can no longer go as high above the level to stop from players skipping content and potential crash issues.
  • It takes slightly less XP to reach the higher levels since there have been some cuts to the levels planned
  • Having co-op mode enabled in the menu no longer reduces Uncle Kennys health in act 3.
  • Now co-op is properly reflected as not supported with Act 3.
  • Number keys are fixed
  • Each weapon now has a proper color, shows up when picking up ammo and when switching weapons
  • Laser gun design altered, has higher damage but lower ammo capacity and pickup amounts. As it stood the laser gun didnt have as much of a use, but I think a high damage but lower ammo should make it cut through enemies better and make it more satisfying at the cost of less use time.
    Introduction to the kids levels are slightly altered to work around the new AI
  • Mouse wont clip onto tab when out of focus

ACT 2-
  • Some annoying zombie placements are changed in the hook platforming intro level

ACT 1-
  • Queen Snail is now somewhat better balanced between the shotgun and the other weapons

It has been two years! A shocking amount of time to still be working on a pixel art indie platformer game. The years have gone by way too fast.

- This was me on my 18th birthday in February 2023 , recently out of a near-death snorkling experience in the Turks and Caicos. HAPPY TWO YEARS!!! Here are some patch notes:

- Fixed a bug that would send players back to the menu after a few cutscenes were over.
- Fixed spikes so that they reset boost mode after death.
- Fixed co-op with Hank! Increased co-op ammo, and lets Hank bounce off of dead snails. You go Hank!
- Fixed Score mode and increases the time you have to create a combo!
- Some other bits and bobs I'm forgetting right now

ACT3 BETA (0.2B) TELEPATHY UPDATE!! NEW BOSSFIGHT!

AYOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Directional firing gamers. Enjoy

- You can now shoot all objects/enemies grabbed by telepathy upwards or downwards by pressing up or down and the release button at the same time! Useful especially with grenades!
- New boss in progress, Pigeon Man! At the end of the rocket launcher level
- You can now see how much radiation youll need before picking up an enemy
- The telepathy UI ellipse is much more responsive now
- You can no longer grab and throw enemies in vehicles with only 50 radiation.
- Many later enemies give much more xp
- Tanks are patched and give xp and rocket ammo
- Drone enemies now correctly react to telepathy
- Parasites now show ellipses when they can be grabbed
- Shop no longer spoils rocket launcher
- Worn down shop won't let you buy stuff anymore
- A few crashes addressed for niche situations

V3 BETA 0.2!!!!!!!

HELLO GAMERS! This is a small update to the Act 3 Beta I made based on some early feedback, and of course, more to come. Not much in terms of new content but plenty of fixes for what has been currently released.

[u]General:[/u]
- Cutscenes will continue to gameplay when ending, but still have an audio glitch at the start of each cutscene that I can't figure out. Gamemaker is a weird engine and more and more glitches pop up on my old systems with their updates.
- The setup screen has a loading bar in case some users take a long time to load in all of the audio groups, but most players won't see this.
- Combo Counter is more centered on-screen to increase visibility.

[u]ACT 1-[/u]
- Enemies in the Firepower level will speak less often.


[u]ACT 3-[/u]
- Removed the last level from the parasite facility. Its almost impossible and ruins the pacing. Will be replaced with a short chase scene instead at some point.
- A jump near the end of the opening section is much less frustrating now.
- You now wont gain seven levels when entering the facility.
- Robo snails shouldn't be trapped in weird spots anymore.

UNCLE KENNY V3.0 BETA LAUNCH!!!!!!

HELLO GAMERS!

School has taken up a ton of my time, especially as engineering classes are ramping up. Recently I've found myself yearning to branch out to new projects and come back to Uncle Kenny with the skills I've learned to finalize the project as a final labor of love on this long, long running personal passion project.

This game launched almost 2 years ago now, and has seen a completely massive overhaul since its launch into something I am still extremely proud of. It's small and simple, but under the surface, the game has only continued to evolve and expand.

Act 3 has the most ambitious gameplay and story concepts I have ever made in my life. It has recently dawned on me that if this takes another few years to come back to and finish completely, no one will ever be able to experience the hundreds if not thousands of hours of effort I've made on this act over the summer of 2024 and ever since.

Think of this as an experimental beta release, where updates to the game will come in small pieces over time that will enhance and complete act 3 until it is totally done. The problem I have is simply my ballooning of scope as my responsibilities continue to increase. It was only recently that I capped off many of the lingering ideas that were just too ambitious for this project and decided to hone in on what I already have.

Act 3 in its state right now is missing cutscenes, some music, many graphics, and entire chunks of levels and the second half in its entirely. Right now there are no finished bosses, a couple of major glitches, and no real sense of story progression. There is also very finicky controller support that doesn't work entirely.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: [u]My friend Othon has been cooking some tracks for the game behind the scenes, and one of them called "Elevator Action" has replaced the track in the Route 12 Gondola section in Act 1[/u]

HELLO GAMERS!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It is an honor to tell you all that I am back. I wasted a lot of my Winter Break from college on Elden Ring but I have locked in this week and created a few new features. Much more to come!

[u]DIRECTIONAL AUDIO![/u]

- Immerse yourself in the Uncle Kenny World, now with 3D audio!!!
- As well, the sound now has filters when under the effects of the new drug pickups and more!

[u]COMBO METER!![/u]

- When you kill enemies in succession, you'll get a number showing your combo that will shrink and go away unless you kill more and take minimal damage!
- Win coins when you do well!
- Some balancing to come, but excited to launch the new feature. My first use of Gamemaker's GUI features

[u]New Powerups![/u]

- Snails can now drop jump boosts!
- Druggie enemies can now drop drugs that boost your speed!
- A new level in the middle of the act that uses the powerups for platforming
- In act 2, hellhounds can drop speed boosts and bats can drop jump boosts as well

[u]Bees![/u]

- Bees now roam the early areas in the game, designed by my girlfriend Ava!
- In one level, you can shoot a bee hive that can attack enemies. Will add that to a few more levels soon, but wanted to make sure that the balance was alright first.

[u]General Fixes - [/u]
- Signs are now much more readable, although their large size may create a few clipping issues, will fix soon,
- The pause menu has been fixed, now reaches the center of the screen at all times, and you can now go to the menu by pressing M. I think I'm going to let you go to the options menu from there as well. To be added soon.
- You can now press the "F" key to see all UI elements at once for a period of time.
- Act 2's cemetery location is now home to an old and abandoned Armory Building, a tease of Act 3
- A welcome to High Hill Trail sign is added to the first level.
- Various graphics can be seen around the previously empty gray buildings, such as posters for Hank The Survival Guy and Uncle Kenny For Mayor!
- Carl's shop glitch fixes, and adjusted prices slightly for inflation.
- The comics inside of Carl's shop are now more readable.



Sorry for the rushed update, I am super excited to get these features out and will be patching issues very soon. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! UNCLE KENNY ACT 3 - THIS CHRISTMAS

UNCLE KENNY ACT 3 and the WILDLIFE UPDATE (Animals and Variety) HAVE BEEN PUSHED TO CHRISTMAS 2024

Uncle Kenny has been a passion project of mine since 2021. I made continuous progress on it through to 2023 At some point, I was discouraged to complete the game, but after my 18th birthday in February, I hunkered down and completed the first act and released it to Steam. Afterwards, I spent the next month straight doing nothing but completing Act 2, and in late April released that first expansion Over the following weeks I released local co-op mode, then went dark for an entire year.

Yet, as my first year of college continued, I knew I had to come back, that it was more than time to return to the drawing board and get started on the conclusion of the largest passion project of my life. And on April 30th, 2024, I got back to work on Uncle Kenny The Game.

It has been three months since that day, and I have been tirelessly tinkering at the elusive third act. But, my ideas continued ballooning. New level concepts, story ideas, improvements. I spent the first few weeks of May simply making editions and changes to the content already in the game. I pushed out maybe 5 or 6 updates in that time. The game felt much better to play, and was completely optimized and improved.

Still, there was the beast that was the third act. It is not only the largest act in the game, but also probably twice as long as Acts 1 and 2 combined. This game, when completed, will be around 6 hours long. Act 3 is so much of this game's content that I cant even imagine the game without it anymore.

There is only one issue - development time. I have been on this for three months, the most consistent time I've probably ever put into anything in my entire life. And it's barely 50 percent complete. I've added every gun, almost every upgrade in the skill tree, yet, the levels are just not all there yet. Another issue is rearing its head as well in the form of my third semester this August. I firmly believe that I will not be able to finish this project by the time I start school. If I had another 2 months with zero distractions, and nothing except for this game, I would probably be able to get it done. But I do not.

Still, I promise this - the game will be out when it is ready, and it will be the complete version. I think that this game will be ready for Christmas 2024. But I have said so many release dates and failed to meet them, that I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed again. But let's hope for December 20th. That's a good date.

As well, the promised Wildlife Update will be grouped in with Act 3, giving me and my girlfriend time to implement all of the assets and animations in a polished state. That update will bring new life to the entire experience of the game. As well, I am adding new levels to Act 1 and the game opening, but that will likely destroy any legacy save files, so be mindful of that before Act 3 releases this December, although I doubt it will be a large issue, as long as you've completed Act 2, Act 3 will still be unlocked even if your save file is no longer usable.

I'm going to go radio silent after this until I am ready to release a trailer. Thank you all gamers, game on, and come back this Christmas for the final chapter, of the Uncle Kenny Game. When it's out, expect it to be 8 dollars. Thank you for your time!

Gamers...

Believe it or not, my ass has been hard at work with Act 3. Ive been very very very hard at work. But you gotta trust me, this is the greatest thing I have ever made in my life. In the one year hiatus from Uncle Kenny updates and development, I had so much time to stew over different ideas in my head for how I would close it out. Part of me thought that it would never be done, that I would never have the passion and drive to finish this masterpiece product... but

I can't reveal anything too crazy right now, other than a couple things:

In Act 3, there will be:

For number 1, there will be a number of additions to the gameplay of acts 1 and 2 to spice things up, as well as new creatures and animals such as bees and catterpillars. It will be beautiufl. I'm hoping to release it by August 1st.

For number 2, bros, you gotta trust, this is worth the wait. I need time on this, but when Im working on it 8-10 or so hours or something a day trust that I'm working as hard as I can and this product will be so, so beautiful. Im thinking that it will come out late August, or September at latest, but we will see.

- When you first start up the game with no save file, you can now enable co-op play and enter the options menu.
- Carl's shop voice lines when purchasing items are more spaced out.
- Music files are now correctly in their own group, can be turned off separately from sound effects once again.
- Added spooky piano music to start of Act 2 just for fun.
- Snails move a little when they die like other enemies.

VERY SMALL UPDATE, OPTIMIZATION.

[u]PATCH NOTES-[/u]

- OPTIMIZED MUSIC FILES, game is now only 1.2 gigs instead of 2 gigs. Bloat from music in game should be reduced, and any audio glitches should be fixed.
- Enemy bullets create blood splatter when hitting another enemy
- Jumping on a snail shell has a better range of pitches than before to reduce repetition.

Been researching other Windows outputs, so expect more performance improvements in the future.

FINAL MAJOR PATCH BEFORE ACT 3 LAUNCH

[u]Gamers, I'm pleased to announce that this is officially the final major patch before the launch of Act 3. I'm not sure how long it will take for the final version 3.00 to release, but in the mean time, enjoy a huge content update for acts 1 and 2.[/u]

PATCH NOTES -

[u]General Fixes -[/u]

- AMMO COUNTER added when picking up ammunition. Its color depends on which ammo has been picked up. Might use this for a points mode as well, as the ammo counter is pretty satisfying when there's many at the same time.

- SNAIL SHELLS NOW ZOOM WHEN JUMPED ON! Theres a few glitches, for example, the shell wont go up a slope yet. Still, I felt like this needed to be added!

- The low health indicator only beeps twice per level now, so as to indicate to the player that they are almost dead, but stops because it would get annoying after a while
- Turning on hard mode no longer requires you to start the game over. No idea why that was ever a thing in the original launch
- Uncle Kenny has more facial animations, reacts when shooting, and is scared when using the flashlight in ACT 2.
- You can now turn off controller vibration and screen shake in the options menu.

Due to a request from multiple people, added secret hard jumps to obtain extra coins early in the game.

- The Grapple Hook now holds horizontal momentum after a swing for a brief time, and increases the potential jump height. I think this will hugely improve the feel of that section of the game. And now prepares the game for a grapple hook in Act 3. Get ready!!

- Removed the coin paywall to the menu extras section, not sure why I ever added that because it never worked right, as well, re-recorded the voice line that plays in the room.

- Fixed the blood output of the king snail, reduced his health a little as well.

-Fixed crash with snail queen, and made the boss slightly more fair. More snail queen editions coming in the future, such as more varied attacks.

-Shotgun jump no longer kills your jump momentum in firepower levels

I am halfway into my first semester of college, when I was working on a Java project, I realized that I could integrate the knowledge I learned in school to create an even better final act of the Uncle Kenny franchise.

PATCH NOTES

Act 2-

- Entirely new levels, whole new section of the game.
- Some levels previously contained in the game files are now accessible by normal means and are far more polished
- Lots of new cutscenes that make up most of the file size
- Lots of new spooky music, the soundtrack is still coming soon!

Act 1-

- Changed the position of the shop sign to make it more visible to players
- Reworked every instance of the grapple hook to further optimize the game and reduce the chance of unfair missed connections with the grapple shot
- Optimized the climax of the act by destroying enemy instances upon falling out of the map, allowing the game to maintain performance indefinitely when sitting idle in the level
- In the same section, fixed the constant presence of the coin counter and its changing colors
- Same section, controller fix with swingshot where aim would reset to original position when not holding the aiming stick beforehand.
- Tinkered with weapon hitboxes and added the muzzle flash back to the pistol weapon

General Editions-

- Finally, I made an options menu. Right now it's pretty rudimentary but I'd be interested to hear any suggestions of options I can add. The menu includes a previously unheard track and allows players to fullscreen, and toggle sound effects and music on and off. Chosen options remain consistent upon reopening the game
- Game no longer has a non-borderless windowed option due to a nigh-unfixable engine bug where lighting would permanently disappear when minimizing the tab.
- Changed the main menu key to M so as to make returning to the menu on keyboard easier
- Made it clear that M returns to the main menu and F4 puts game in fullscreen, something that previously confused many players
- Performance fixes across the board
- Main Menu is altered, added a patch version number to the corner
- Extras Menu has some more fun graphics
- Exit button has a slightly more polished response to player action instead of just suddenly closing.
- When player has one heart left, game uses a tone sound and displays final heart to remind player that they need to heal or avoid taking damage

Today is a very special update on the development of the coming free update titled ACT 2.

First off, to clear any confusion-

The general price for new players will be raised to $2.99 on the day of release. Similarly, this summer, when the final act releases, the price will be raised to a final $3.99.

SOME FINAL CHANGES

This is a smaller hotfix, only a few minor changes.
- You can no longer soar to the sky with the shotgun using the number keys, Uncle Kenny cannot escape his simulation no matter how hard he tries.
- Optimized grapple hook section, removed over 1,700 instances and enhanced accuracy of the grapple shot, reducing the chance of unfair failed connections
- Slightly reduced the chance of Uncle Kenny talking in order to further prevent him from independent thinking
- Some minor soft lock fixes
- Reduced the random spread of the machine gun as a result of player feedback.

These past few days I have been working on Act 2, but there were still a few things that I went back and fixed on Act 1, including:

A NOTE ON THE MAC VERSION OF UNCLE KENNY

As my subscription to Gamemaker is ending in a few days, this will likely be the last update of the game until when ACT 2 comes out.

I hope to add in Steam achievements at some point as well, but Im currently having trouble implementing the Steam API into my project. I will update whenever new developments come.

UNCLE KENNY HOTFIX VERSION 1.02

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT ON THE LAUNCH OF THE UNCLE KENNY GAME!!

In this first patch, there are:
-Some minor fixes
-Fixed a few areas that softlocked the game
-Slightly reduced the chance of a heart dropping from a crate following player feedback.
