Savages!
A new Game Update (Build 140) is now available for download. In this build players will find an array of bug fixes and tweaks to various items/weapons/armor/creatures/ingame locations. In addition, based on feedback we have received from the community, we have revamped the spawning system for most bosses in the game. Players will now find these spawners to be more reliable and less random. Also, we have gone through and re-organized the journal for better readability and overhauled up much of the lore on Snowmere and Freydalyn to be less cryptic and a bit more direct.
Lastly, wed like to honor three players: quentin, Jebe, and free-eagle for the 500+ hours spent playing Savage Lands and feedback contributed. For this great feat, these heroes have been immortalized ingame. Visit the Heroes of Tarvhas monument near the giant Wyrm Tower on Snowmere to unlock the journal entry.

Savage Lands Update (Build 128) is now available for download. This is the final update in a series that contains improvements to the systems that manage AI pathing. For 128, much of our focus went into fixing various object placement issues and collision data for assets found on the islands of Freydalyn, Oscira, and Jormungahr. As mentioned in our last update, the goal is to smooth things out for the Enemy AI over a variety of terrain and elevation types to provide a better gameplay experience. This was a huge undertaking, but well worth it in the end for all players.
Big Thanks to our community for all the support and screen shots. They helped tremendously in isolating unique issues and getting fixes in place.
Please follow the link below for Patch Notes and information about previous micro updates (Build 122-127) to the game you may have missed since our last announcement. Please dont hesitate to reach out and let us know if you find a bug in this area, we will work quickly to fix.
Lastly, we kindly ask that returning players (haven't played in more than 6 months) review the notes to avoid issues with older world data.

Greetings Savages!
For over a month our forges here at Last Bastion Studios have been focused on hammering out new stuff for the game. With this release Savage Landers now have access to Steam Trading Cards, updated content, bug fixes and balance tweaks. This release is one of many in our continued efforts to provide players with a more rich and fun survival experience. More info below!
Steam Trading Cards
Long overdue, but well worth the wait. Players and fans will find this Savage Trading Card bundle complete with badges, emoticons, and profile backgrounds that capture the spirit of the game! How do you get them? Random card drops occur over time while playing Savage Lands and if you are super lucky, card drops will be of the special foil variety. Foil cards are quite rare and very valuable to collectors and fans alike. Be sure to check out the Steam Trading Marketplace to see what sort of other unique inventory items members of the Steam Community might offer for any of the trading cards. Trading Cards Series 1 Contains:
- 8 trading cards
- 5 regular badges + 1 foil badge
- 3 profile backgrounds
- 10 emoticons
Fabled Weapons
Fabled weapons and armor have made their way to the Sundered Isles of Tarvhas. These ancient relics are from a time long since passed. They were inspired by the originals found in the legacy version of the game. We have rebalanced them and added new visual FX to capture their uniqueness. It is rumored that the dungeons of Meltok and Carta Sul hold the secrets to unlocking these powerful weapons of war.
Bug Fixes and Balance
Various items, creatures, armor have gone through additional balance changes for playability. This process is ongoing, so please let us know what you think! Wed like to thank our dedicated community of players for providing a continuous stream of feedback to help shape Savage Lands into the game that it is today. For a full list of tweaks/changes please follow the link below. Returning players there are some important details in the patch notes we recommend you read before launching into your world. Greetings Savages!
Last Bastion is pleased to announce the release of our latest Game Update (Build 71). As many of you know over the last several months we've spent a lot of time building out new content, updating lore, fixing bugs and balancing items/creatures to provide a much more rich and deeper experience.
If you are returning to the Savage Lands or new to the world of Tarvhas, what can you expect to see from the last several updates you ask?
New Content
Adventurers must travel beyond the shores of Freydalyn to the rediscovered land of Oscira; embarking on an epic journey while exploring places and facing enemies unseen. Only the mightiest of warriors will prevail in this hostile and perilous land. A new threat has appeared on the island of Snowmere. The gates of Meltok have opened and the Undead now seem to roam unchecked looking for flesh to feast on. Find out who or what is behind these vile creatures now plaguing the land.
AI Improvements
Tweaks have been done so that combat feels more fluid and balance between creature damage and armor mitigation makes sense for the area of difficulty you are in. Creatures should also path a bit more smoothly around obstacles.
Player Progression and Item Balance
Some items and armor have gone through additional balance changes to better fit the progression we envision for the game. This process has been ongoing and is now close to complete. Let us know what you think! Wed like to give a big THANK YOU to our dedicated community of players that have tested and provided feedback to help shape Savage Lands into a better game for all. Though this update only provides a few fixes and tweaks, we can assure you the amount of work that went into these changes spanned several weeks. Savage Landers!
Last Bastion Studios is pleased to announce the release of Build 37. Over the last 8 weeks we have slayed many bugs, but our primary focus has been increasing the overall utility of housing in the game. We wanted to provide players with more flexibility with what they can place inside their structures. This update lays down much of the foundational work that was needed, and more buildable items will be introduced over the next several updates.
We cant thank our loyal community enough for all the beta testing and great feedback that has been provided to our team over the last several months. Your support and patience has helped immensely in our efforts to revitalize the Savage Lands.

Hello Savages! Last Bastion Studios is pleased to announce the release of our latest Game Update (Build 9) to the public. The LBS team has spent 3 months working on tons of fixes, tweaks, and balance changes to make a better game for you the players. Much of the work that went into this update was at the request of the community along with things we felt would help make a better game. The LBS team also tuned up the art giving the Savage Lands a much ominous look and feel. There is still more work to do and we look forward to your feedback. Below is a high level overview of what to expect. For more detailed information and a full list of changes please visit our forums.
Art Changes
New Colors, the Rebirth of the Savage Lands: Over the last several months Last Bastion spent a lot of time reviewing the old art style found in 422. Our conclusion was that the current implementation with its smoggy atmosphere, dirty/muddy snow, and color palette simply did not sell a world that was frozen by bitter cold and battle worn by war. So we did a lot of research. We studied the landscapes, skies, snow and fauna of real world locations and then applied those color palettes to the game. With our most recent update, we've re-envisioned colors, lightning and general atmosphere to give the game a fresh new look and tell a stronger visual narrative about the soul of Savage Lands.
AI Updates
Work has continued across the AI systems. Creature attack ranges have been further adjusted to reduce damage from long distances, pathing around objects have been tuned, and spawners rebalanced.
Player Progression and Item Balance
This update will change the crafting experience. Some items and armor have gone through balance changes to better fit the progression we envision for the game. This is an ongoing process and will take multiple updates before it is complete Thanks again for all the support! Stay Savage! Last Bastion Studios

Hello Savages! As promised, below is a list of improvements and changes that you will find in latest Savage Lands Game Update (Version 422) provided by Last Bastion Studios.

Additional work was done to various game objects/props across the world to make them more performant. Players should see an FPS increase (on most machines that are minimum spec and above) of 15%-20%. Note: Savage Lands does require a 64Bit OS to play.
AI Attack Ranges
Combat should feel a bit more fair, creature attack ranges have been turned down. Might need some more work, but please let us know if there are specific creatures that have issues.

Snowmere has been revamped to help new players ease into the experience, changes include:
- Random drops added to fit early progression

Hello Savages, The time has come for an update and clearly the request is heard, loud and clear. It has been a few months since we gave the option to play a different branch and during that time people have turned from slightly patiently to extremely harsh. Rather than reaching out, reading the forums or being positive - some pretty awful stuff has been posted and fights have been breaking out. Just because it is called Savage Lands, doesn't mean we should have Savage Attitudes about a pause in development. We looked into having external resources help us while we are currently on a contracted project to keep updates coming and it was proving to present more problems. We are currently working on getting this contracted project to a soft launch state and then we will at a point to start working on Savage Lands again. We are currently projecting about three months till the next update. Several of you have reached out to me directly have and been very respectful and understanding. The kind words about the game, where it has been, where it is going, and what it should end up as are always welcomed. As we have said all along though, we won't get to every idea and there is no way to please everybody, so keep that in mind with your feedback. If you all would really like a stream for me to say this same information face to face, I am happy to and field questions live. Please note, I might sound like a broken record as this post sums up the current state and the estimated wait time. If you still want a stream, let me know in this thread and I will make one happen next week. I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Make sure to go outdoors and stretch your legs out because a Savage winter is coming and you will need to be prepared... Kindest Regards, Logan

Big Changes:
AI Updates, Crash Fixes, and a way to get Unstuck!
New Features & Patch Notes:
AI Updates have hit the islands. While there are still changes to come to spawners, pathing, and AI, these updates should allow to continue to happily slaughter the creatures that scamper about the lands. If you see something that doesn’t look right, please give us some feedback! Crash Fixes have been and will continue to be a priority with every update. Keep posting in the forums when you have a crash. It always helps if you have a good solid way to reproduce it! A Way To Get Unstuck! While we are updating the art, the world, and currently the new big island – you now have a way to escape from being stuck! In the chat/text enter box, just type this: /stuck This command will warp you back to respawn point and kill you. Now to answer the question that will be most asked: Why kill us? Why would you do such a Savage thing for bugs in YOUR game? Here is your answer: We kill players that use /stuck to get it balanced for early access. Once we are further along and have the map put together better, this feature will see an update, maybe even a button and a cooldown timer. We want players to be able to use it when in distress and not as a way to exploit the game. Environment:
- New art added to Snowmere, Freydalyn, and Jormungahr.
- All the shorelines of the islands are continuing to be updated.
Bug Fixes:
- AI and creature spawning.
- Performance updates.
- Various crash fixes.
Known Issues
- Creatures hoping over things and ‘backpacking’.
Next Up:
- More Performance Updates.
- More creature AI, and pathing updates.
- Item adding and balancing continues.
- More art and design updates to the world.
- Bug fixes.

We welcome any and all feedback you may have with this new approach to island hopping. - Weather is Back! This feature has been added into the Beta branch. There are still a few bits of polish to work out (audio and visuals) but please hit up the forums and/or our Trello board and let us know what weather you would like to see affect the Savage Islands in the future. - Several new art updates to inventory icons. - Stamina consumption while sprinting has been reduced so you can now sprint further than before. - Performance Optimizations. Overall, we are seeing improvements in the ballpark of 10-15 fps. Some of the specifics we looked into this week were culling distances, LOD’s and reflection optimization. - Enemy placement has been adjusted across the first two islands. - Item Placement has been adjusted across the first two islands. - Driftwood piles can now be harvested for logs and sticks.
