In the previous edition of Devlog, I said that in the next one I would talk about hookers, their entrance exam and their work, but since the game has been released in the meantime, I will postpone the mentioned story and today I will say some technical things. First of all, apologies to everyone that not all booty call galleries for waitresses are included in the game. The reason for this is simple: no matter how hard we tried (the render machine has been working 24/7 for the last two months), we were unable to finish all the images.
I can tell you that the pictures will be included in the game very soon (we still have three galleries left to make) so that problem will be solved in a few days.
I see some people are wondering why the game is 4 GB in size? The answer to that question is simple, and it's also the reason why we didn't manage to make all the images before the game's release: the game contains a lot more images than is necessary for a certain moment of the game. All sex scenes (booty calls) have twice as many pictures as you see when you click on the booty call event icon or when you view that scene in the gallery. All sex poses are made with two cameras (two different angles), and the game randomly shows one of two possible images. In addition, the number of pictures for the Dance Club is also more than necessary: the dancers change every hour, and the poses change every ten minutes, which means that six pictures are needed for one girl. There are various combinations depending on the number of dancers (and/or hookers) as well as various combinations depending on the number of guests currently present. Current Status

Brothel Tycoon is a simulation game where you are in the role of Yvonne, a young entrepreneur who wants to turn a small cafe into a luxurious place for adult entertainment. And right at the beginning, I warn you not to expect to finish the game in a few minutes. It takes hours and hours of gameplay to see all the possible combinations of staff and all the possible scenes that are included in the game. Also, a dose of planning is required because female employees can do several different jobs. Choose carefully in which position you will put a certain employee, because not all are equally good at all jobs. The game, especially in the beginning, is not easy and if you are not careful, you can very easily go bankrupt, and bankruptcy is: the end of the game.
After Yvonne buys the cafe, it is necessary to find employees. This part starts with choosing the assistant (which is a kind of game AI) and after that you need to choose the waitresses for the cafe. During the game, when conditions are met, Yvonne can expand her business by hiring female dancers and opening a dance club. Further development of the business enables the employment of additional employees such as security guards, nurses, hookers and maids.
It is possible to determine working days and shifts for employees, hire new ones and give notice to existing ones. In addition, the basic task is to determine the prices of the services offered by the facility (in the range from -50 to +50% of the base prices).
Although the game engine is Ren'Py, this is not a visual novel. This game is a business simulation. There are elements of a visual novel in the game, but they are in the function of management and the selection of further actions and tasks.
In addition to the conversations between the game's characters (which is performed in the form of a visual novel), the game also has a "Live Mode" where the player follows the events in various parts of the facility (caf, dance and/or night club) and has an insight into all the actions that the employees do. It is possible to see the waitresses while they serve the guests, but it is also possible to see how the nurses conduct a medical examination or what they do in their free time. Please note that all female employees, at some point, have the opportunity to have sex with guests. Assistants and waitresses can have casual sex (booty call) with guests in the maintenance room, dancers have a make-up room for that purpose, and hookers have their own sex rooms anyway, as this is their main activity. Maids can have casual sex with guests while cleaning the rooms.
The game contains a gallery with all the images of sex scenes that can be seen in the game, with the fact that the images can only be seen after you see the scene live in the game. After that, you can see that scene again whenever you want. In addition, please note that all sex scenes have more images made than those you see at a certain moment in the game, and the engine itself displays the image by random selection. This means that the sex scene of a certain employee with the same guest is not always the same because the images are shown randomly.
In addition to Yvonne, the game has forty-eight active characters that you can hire and over forty non-playable characters that are guests in the facility, which brings us to a total of almost hundred different characters visible during the game. It was necessary to make a lot of pictures for all these characters, so the number of pictures included in the game is close to 9000. All pictures are made in HD resolution, ie 1920 x 1080 pixels. The game has no videos or animations except for very short transitions for the needs of some events during the game. As for audio, the game has basic background music, sounds that can be heard inside the object, and certain sound effects for some parts of the game. In addition to all of the above, the game also contains twenty-four Steam achievements and includes over twenty Steam statistical data, as well as the ability to save the game to the Steam cloud.
Although the game already has enough material for hours and hours of entertainment (I would dare to say several days), we believe that there is room for additional upgrades. In line with that, the plan is to have a Staff Expansion Pack (it will be free, don't worry) which will add a dozen new employees and the addition of new events that the player can arbitrarily choose and activate in the game.

Development Progress
Today I will introduce you to the Security Service and explain why it is important and how to use it. The security guards give you the option of working in all three shifts, you also get a certain discount on insurance, and the most important thing is that by activating the Security Service, you get the possibility of holding events as well as special services (striptease for dancers, escort for hookers, etc). In order to activate the Security Service, it is necessary to purchase it through the Real Estate menu.
After you have activated the Security Service, you have the option of hiring a security guards, and the third shift is also immediately available to you, so you can now assign employees to all three shifts.
After you have hired and assigned security guards to shifts, you can select Events Schedule from the menu and organize your first event.
Since the other parts of the building (dance area, rooms for hookers) are not yet in operation, the only event available to you is Topless Night, which is organized in the cafe, and it is about the waitresses serving guests in topless.
After choosing an event, you will receive basic information about it: name, price, safety and health risk, start time and duration of the event, as well as the projected number of guests and expected earnings for the selected event. You can plan an event up to nine days in advance, it is not possible to overlap events, and to create an event you need to select the date and the employees for each individual category.
Each event has its own requirements for the number of employees as well as safety and health risks. It is necessary to select a sufficient number of employees so that all the numbers to the right of the employee icons are green. After that, you can click on "announce event".
If you decide to change the event settings (change event date or replace employees), then you can click on 'cancel event', make changes and activate the event again.

Today I will introduce you to the Security Service and explain why it is important and how to use it. The security guards give you the option of working in all three shifts, you also get a certain discount on insurance, and the most important thing is that by activating the Security Service, you get the possibility of holding events as well as special services (striptease for dancers, escort for hookers, etc). In order to activate the Security Service, it is necessary to purchase it through the Real Estate menu.
After you have activated the Security Service, you have the option of hiring a security guards, and the third shift is also immediately available to you, so you can now assign employees to all three shifts.
After you have hired and assigned security guards to shifts, you can select Events Schedule from the menu and organize your first event.

Although I announced in the previous edition of Devlog that today I will talk a little more about the possibility of waitresses for additional income (sex with guests), there was a small change: before sex with guests, we decided to implement the Health Service. Why is Health Service important? All employees who work with guests (waitresses, dancers, hookers) should undergo a medical examination and receive a certificate. This certificate enables them to charge higher prices in the amount of 15%, and this percentage does not affect the satisfaction of the guests.
To activate the Health Service, select 'Health Service' from the 'Real Estate' menu and then click on 'BUY'. There are only two conditions for activation: the amount on the account must be greater than 30,000 and Yvonne must own a large cafe.
After the activation of the Health Service, it is necessary to select nurses from the job market. At this stage of the game, while there are no other active parts (dance part, hooker rooms), one or two medical nurses are enough. But before that, I want to write an explanation of the items that are visible when selecting employees (assistants and waitresses, for now). The workers are assigned to classes from "F" as the worst to "A" as the best (there are also Steam achievements provided for moving the worker to a higher class).

Then the picture, name, age, body shape (normal, pinup, busty and voluptous) as well as the points for attractiveness are shown. Attractiveness is calculated based on body shape, age and an additional parameter entered for each employee. Attractiveness is important because if the guest has more than one waitress available, he will choose the most attractive one. These basic data are followed by data specific to each workplace. The assistant has only one variable, which is how much influence he has on other employees. In the example above, Brigitte has an influence of 10% which means that all workers, if Brigitte is on their shift, will get 10% more XP during work. XP points are important because they are used to evaluate employees and the possibility of promotion to a higher class depends on the amount of XP points. For the position of a waitress, three data are displayed: the time required to serve a guest, then the maximum service she can provide, and the expected turnover in one hour (the expected turnover is calculated as the average value of all possible services). And to clarify what maximum possible service means: an "F" class waitress can only prepare simple drinks, while an "A" class waitress can prepare complex cocktails. The following are data from the daily wage (8 hours of work). The math for the calculation is as follows: the hourly wage listed at the top is multiplied by 8 hours to give the base wage. 10% income tax and 5% for health insurance are charged on this base amount. After these data, the total cost per employee, the expected daily earnings and the difference between costs and expected earnings are shown. At the end, the ratio of costs and earnings is presented. This last data, the relationship between earnings and expenses, is not shown for the assistant, because as a rule, she has no earnings (in reality, she is a pure expense).
After all the preparations are done, the opening of the cafe follows... Note: for this you'll get a Steam achievement. Since in the initial phase of the game, Yvonne has a license for eight hours of work (one shift), and the second shift is selected, the live mode starts every day at 14:50 and the cafe scene is shown.
At 3:00 p.m., the waitresses arrive at their workplace, and immediately after that, the guests also arrive.
The user interface is very simple. You have buttons for displaying the status of serving guests (Serving Log), then the status of employees (Staff Log) and buttons for pausing the game (Run / Pause) and buttons for speeding up and slowing down the game (+ and -).
The Serving Log shows all the guests who are currently in the cafe and their status. Guest statuses are as follows: new guest, guest waiting for service, consumption of service, payment for service and departure. All statuses have a counter that counts down how many minutes each status lasts. For a new guest, the waiting time for the service is initially 10 minutes, but it depends on the percentage of the price change. For example, if you raise the prices by 10% percent, the waiting time decreases by 10%. Simple: for a higher price, the guest expects faster service. The time of serving the guest (waiting status) depends on the class of the waitress: higher class, faster service. The statuses of consumption, payment and departure are fixed and do not depend on prices or class of employees.
Staff Log shows all employees, their status, whether they are currently at work or not, and data on expenses and earnings for each employee. After the shift ends, a financial report is displayed at midnight and a new day follows. If it's a weekday, it starts around 7am with Yvonne in the office, and if it's a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the game skips the office and goes straight to 14:50 and shows the cafe. On a weekday, Yvonne has several options at the office...
Note: price corrections and employee work schedules are allowed only on Mondays.

WORKING DAY - LIVE MODE
After all the preparations are done, the opening of the cafe follows... Note: for this you'll get a Steam achievement. Since in the initial phase of the game, Yvonne has a license for eight hours of work (one shift), and the second shift is selected, the live mode starts every day at 14:50 and the cafe scene is shown.
At 3:00 p.m., the waitresses arrive at their workplace, and immediately after that, the guests also arrive.
The user interface is very simple. You have buttons for displaying the status of serving guests (Serving Log), then the status of employees (Staff Log) and buttons for pausing the game (Run / Pause) and buttons for speeding up and slowing down the game (+ and -).
The Serving Log shows all the guests who are currently in the cafe and their status. Guest statuses are as follows: new guest, guest waiting for service, consumption of service, payment for service and departure. All statuses have a counter that counts down how many minutes each status lasts. For a new guest, the waiting time for the service is initially 10 minutes, but it depends on the percentage of the price change. For example, if you raise the prices by 10% percent, the waiting time decreases by 10%. Simple: for a higher price, the guest expects faster service. The time of serving the guest (waiting status) depends on the class of the waitress: higher class, faster service. The statuses of consumption, payment and departure are fixed and do not depend on prices or class of employees.
Staff Log shows all employees, their status, whether they are currently at work or not, and data on expenses and earnings for each employee. After the shift ends, a financial report is displayed at midnight and a new day follows. If it's a weekday, it starts around 7am with Yvonne in the office, and if it's a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the game skips the office and goes straight to 14:50 and shows the cafe. On a weekday, Yvonne has several options at the office...
Note: price corrections and employee work schedules are allowed only on Mondays.
On Mondays, the assistant also works in the morning, and with her help Yvonne can make corrections in the business, hire new waitresses, change prices and work schedule as well as some other possibilities, but I will write more about that in the next Devlog. Stay tuned!

In addition to the conversations between the game's characters (which is performed in the form of a visual novel), the game also has a "Live Mode" where the player follows the events in various parts of the facility (café, dance and/or night club) and has an insight into all the actions that the employees do.
It is possible to see the waitresses while they serve the guests, but it is also possible to see the dancers and hookers while they serve their guests.
As a bonus, Yvonne has an additional option, which is not to pay the bills with money (see picture below)...
