PATCH 0.24.11.14 Fixed noting being able to pick-up items when a helmet was equipped. Changed players own chat text color to light green. Changed clan members to light blue. Added lootable notes to letter box loot tables. Fixed hidden steam achievement - moldy sandwich. Hotfix 0.24.11.10 Fixed not being able to cook Sugar using Cane Juice. Fixed Kill a player achievement. Disabled Halloween Event. These give some law about the game and the story because it, more of these will be added in each update along with some that spark a random quest.
known issues There is currently a UI bug within the engine which causes the UI to not render correctly, I have been trying to track this issue down but it's very hard to reproduce my end, I am sorry for the inconvenience this issue is causing steamsad. There are currently some known issues with vehicles not always syncing correctly when being dismounted when moving, this seems to be related to chaos physics in Unreal Engine 5, to avoid this issue I would recommend stopping before exiting your vehicle for the time being. Local Server - Due to level streaming trees will respawn if a player loads in away from their base location. Local Server - Some map stands are showing the incorrect positions for markers. Halloween Event 2024 - Patch 0.24.10.27

Yep, the Halloween event is back for 2024 with even more new free event skins unlocks, claim your rewards. now! What's lurking this Halloween? Its that time of year when the world of Rem Survival comes to life and spooky things start to happen. How the Event Works Between 26th October to the 10th of November, you will have the opportunity to explore the fields, graveyard, The Forgotten Ruins and the Dungeon of Rise Island and discover what is lurking in the dark. To get started, you'll need to visit the swamp and collect the quest from Blue Skull, four quests will be available, "The Bringer of Death" take note doing Forsaken Souls beforehand can give you a leg up in the fright. Event Skins can be bought from event trader "Blue Skull" for death coins, these are steam skins so these are bound to your steam account once unlocked and can be used at any time. Updated Improve base networking to help with packet loss. Sleeping at beds or sleeping bags now depletes hydration and hunger stats depending on the time slept, if stats are zero it will impact health. Heat conditions now effect hydration stats you can lower heat by taking cover or wearing types of clothing. World beds, sinks, heaters and couches now give resources when being damaged. Replaced FSR 2.2 with FSR 3.03. You can now repair roller door motors by hitting the roller door. You can now turn Oil Shale into low grade fuel at the Distillery when using coal with a coal tray. This is just a hotfix which fixes an issue some users have been getting around large bases caused by packet loss. Hotfix 0.24.01.09 Fixed issue due to packet loss where client/server wouldn't sync building plan item select/unselect. Added new sound for selecting tabs in the inventory menu system. Added sounds for searching and looting boxes. Fixed Stat Steam Achievements from not working.

Major Fixes/Changes Only 0.23.11.09 Changes Halloween event removed. Improved user interface. New User Interface Bar has been added this brings together all the main UI screens into one window. Clan Manager, Item Wiki and Tips Screen is all now a part of the new User Interface Screen. Research Bench has been removed you can now access this via the new User Interface. You can now use the world map without a map in your inventory, but it will display a black grid instead. World Map will now display your current coordinates. Clan members will now show up on the compass and map without needing a digital compass. Fixed gathering not giving resources on the last hit. Halloween Event 2023

Yep, the Halloween event is back for 2023 with new free event skins unlocks, Clam your rewards. now! What's lurking this Halloween? Its that time of year when the world of Rem Survival comes to life and spooky things start to happen. How the Event Works Between 22th October to the 8th of November, you will have the opportunity to explore the fields, graveyard and The Forgotten Ruins of Rise Island and discover what is lurking in the dark. To get started, you'll need to visit the swamp and collect the quest from Baba Yaga, two quests will be available, "The Bringer of Death" take note doing Forsaken Souls beforehand can give you a leg up in the fright.
Then roam the farms, graveyard and start destroying cursed Scarecrows, Gibbets and Coffins but beware of what lurks within.

This update brings large CPU optimizations to Rise Island improving FPS across the board Major Changes and Fixes

Major Fixes/Changes Only 0.23.04.21 Changes Reduced metal ore nodes spawn percentage by 20%. Updated slot machine with resource type group (Wood Logs Icon) and combined hatchet with hammers for tool selection. Fixed Step Ladders being blocked by base blocker zones. UPDATE NOTICE If the game start to redownload completely doing the below will allow steam to use the old game files. Uninstalling the game then renaming the folder in your steam/steam apps folder from Remnants to Rem Survival, then reinstall the game again, this will stop steam redownloading the whole game for nothing.


Servers will be offline until hosts have updated the games configuration on their backend, please remember most hosts don't have direct contact with myself so their update timeframe will very. Official servers should be back up before the weekend, I hope.

Welcome Rem Survival

Moving forward, the game will now be known as Rem Survival. The reason for this change has come from player feedback over the last 2 years, this change will also help improve the game's visibility and metrics. The title Remnants was selected in 2015 for the game and was made known through Steam Greenlight on November 28, 2016, but throughout the years other games have used similar names not bothering to respect other developers or their games no matter how big or small, some might think using a similar name is fine, but it causes issues like people joining and being directed to the wrong community for that game which has happened many times, so I took it on to change the game's name for the best outcome for the future of the game. What does REM stand for and how does it relate to the game? These changes will come into effect for the backend when the next patch is released which is due out in 2-7 days, but name and logo changes will be rolling out up until this date on all related platforms. SERVERS Local Saves This won't delete or remove any player data, but once this name change happens on the backend, people will need to rename their saved folder in documents/mygames to match the name change. Dedicated Server Saves I will work with GPortal to port over all saved data in this process, but if you're hosting your own dedicated server you will have to move your saved folder from the old server folder to the new server folder. Hot Fix 0.23.03.27 Fixed not being able to join or create a server if offline on the steam friends list. Fixed NPCs not giving XP when being killed. Fixed Metal Mold blueprint missing from craft menu. Increased rare node spawn percentage to 70% and lower stone nodes to 30%. Fixed Metal Workbench blueprint missing from craft menu. Updated Darker Power Skins textures and added pulse effect. Fixed random color not applying to items when skin is being applied using a paint can. Fixed character getting stuck when climbing ladders. Chair Turret This turret runs on 2 stroke fuel and can take 2 types of ammo being ether Stones or Can Bombs, the turret covers a small radius and is able to yaw in all directions and can be unlocked via the Research Bench.
Metal Workbench Required for crafting high end items like weapons and turrets.
Electric Furnace Requires Power rather than fuel to run and can smelt low-grade metal into high-grade using the metal mold and can be unlocked via the Research Bench.
Safe The only storage which is only accessible by the owner or clan members, in PVP the safe must be destroyed to be looted.
Laser Grid Door Requires Power and can be shot through.
Armored Door This is the strongest door in game, Armored building parts are also planned to be added.

known issues There are currently some known issues with vehicles not always syncing correctly when being dismounted when moving, this seems to be related to chaos physics in Unreal Engine 5, to avoid this issue I would recommend stopping before exiting your vehicle for the time being. Vehicle steering has become over sensitive in UE 5.1 due to changes made in chaos physics. Localization updates do take time so if there are any missing translations, please be aware these will be translated in future updates. 0.22.12.23/24 HOTFIX Fixed building restrictions not always working due placement changes made in patch 0.22.12.22. Fixed paint bench not working after selecting a skin from the all selection menu. I also had time to get a Christmas event out for players this event will run until the 6th of January. My main plans for 2023 will be a completely new map which will replace the Rise Map as the primary map for the game along with a new NPC system, and character creation. The map will be my main focus and will take me a large amount of time to complete for what I have planned, this map will bring a new style of gameplay to Remnants.     Early Access is intended for those interested in supporting the project and participating in its continued development. You will most likely experience balancing issues, performance issues, latency issues, bugs and incomplete features. I will try my best to target latency issues to improve the quality of online gameplay the best I can.
