Warriors! We have been working hard and now, finally, we are happy to present you version Veterum 0.8.5! Changes: - 5 new units; - completely redesigned random map generation; - new generated quest; - balancing of unit characteristics; - the amount of experience per level has been increased from 200 to 250; - corpses of large units now make it harder to move; - when hovering the cursor over a unit's portrait, its artistic description appears; - the system of changing the mood of units on the world map has been redesigned; - you won't see this in the demo version, just take my word for it - it's now possible to create an undead army; - new features of units, terrain objects, music, icons and a lot of other little things; - optimization, bug fixes. Veterum on Steam
Warriors!
We really wanted to make it in time for the strategy festival on Steam, so we rushed to release the demo. Not everything went perfectly, but we got quality feedback and realized what players want. So, here is the major update of Veterum!
First of all, the changes affected the strategic part of the game:
on the world map, the strength level of enemy armies grows gradually;
the algorithm of getting random missions has been redesigned;
the complexity of missions is shown when you receive them and during their execution;
balance edits (more gold and experience for units, reduced cost of army maintenance, more * pleasant prices in stores, better attitude to the player on the world map);
added goods for trade (iron, grain, wool, etc.);
many small improvements in the army camp;
reduced pauses between attacks in combat;
redesigned save system;
fixed (hopefully) bug with incorrect current date detection in Windows 11;
fixed all identified bugs;
added high-quality English translation.
Old saves will not work!

Friends!
Work on Veterum is in full swing, the time for publishing news is categorically not enough. It is advisable to spend a couple of evening hours not on a diary, but on modeling or writing code.
Thanks again to everyone who played the shared Veterum demo and sent in an exceptional link! The message detection has been scrutinized and studied in the notebook. We have devoted the last two months to working with them.
Full list of changes since the tech demo:
- fixed (hopefully) all bugs;
- added "low" feature. You can shoot through "low" units;
- units standing below the arrow (in water, under walls, etc.) no longer interfere with shooting;
- improved visualization of shooting. Interference is shown that overlaps lines or simply reduces accuracy;
- colored circles are drawn under the units;
- the camera can be scrolled outside the game map (before there were difficulties with the arrangement of units before the battle);
- the inactive zones at the bottom of the screen have disappeared from the map;
- added new artifacts for units (now there are 98 of them);
- Increased chance of getting injured in combat;
- added a new gameplay setting: 1 Morale can occur at the start of each unit's turn;
- Changed the algorithm for obtaining rewards for units after the battle. Rare medals have become easier to obtain;
- Enemies learned a couple of new tricks;
- seriously expanded the functionality of the map editor;
- The mechanics of fortresses have been reworked. The height difference between the fortress walls and the ground is played out more correctly;
- new models of units and terrain objects, in-game art;
- something else I forgot to mention...
We wrote a short gameplay trailer:

Dear friends!
For more than two years we have been working on a new game - Veterum. In it, we implemented most of the features that we could not implement in Warbanners: an open world, free leveling, a convenient map and unit editor. We are happy to announce that Veterum has finally got a page on Steam!
Please add Veterum to your wishlist. For us it is very important.
Thank you for continuing to support us!
Take care of yourself!

Our dear Friends at Lost Pilgrims Studio have just released the Open-World main campaign for Vagrus - The Riven Realms.
Vagrus is a turn-based, open-world, dark fantasy RPG. The development team has been playing table-top RPGs (like DnD) on their home-brew setting, the Riven Realms, for over two decades, then based this game on it, so it has incredibly deep lore and immersive stories.
They have just posted a huge announcement on their Steam development blog about releasing the open-world main campaign of Vagrus to all their Crowdfunding Backers in preparation of bringing the game to Steam.

Today I have two important news at once.
1. Many players complained that units miss too often. Now it's over! In the options added the ability to change the "To-hit chance". Note that during the battle can not be changed.
2. Translation into Spanish is complete! It was launched even before the release of the game (almost 2 years ago!). Five people participated in the work on the translation (if I forgot someone, please write):
Gino Ariel Orsini, Javier Garca Martnez, Paula Sifredi, Jos Rodrguez Gil, Tegga21. Thank you very much!!!
Thanks to all players for their support!
If you like the game, please put your thumb up. It motivates us a lot and helps with the promotion of the game. Thanks again!
Dear players! I plan to add to the settings the ability to change the "To-hit chance". He is now 55%, but many players complain that units miss too often. Now it can be easily fixed. What do you think of it? *************************** The description of the new setting will be in English and Russian only. If you help translate it into other languages, we will be very grateful to you! Thank you very much! Languages needed: Spanish, German, French, Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Turkish. Text to translate: To-hit chance (base) To-hit chance when Accuracy of an attacker equals Evasion of a defender. The recommended value is 55%. *************************** The Spanish version of the game will be available in July 2019!
Changes:
- fixed the "illumination" in the arena;
- fixed fire description;
- removed from the English descriptions a few extra points;
- before the battle begins, the icon indicates the unit that assistant Set-Shamar killed;
- after completing the game on the nightmarish level of difficulty, an additional achievement The Story's End is given. If you have already completed the game on the nightmarish level of difficulty, simply run the game to get "The Story's End".
Changes in version 1.3.0: - Fixed about a dozen inaccuracies in the names of cities in the English version; - Corrected description of the skill "Timber!"; - a pair of descriptions was clarified; - when a player shoots from a catapult, the camera no longer tracks the stone; - when generating enemies in the "arena", the "weight" of the most dangerous opponents is increased, because of which the battles in the "arena" will become a little easier. P.S. I am glad to announce that the work on the translation of Warbanners into French and Spanish has been resumed!
Changes: - Karranak and a pair of orcs received the "Tireless" feature (Unit regenerates 1 extra Stamina every turn); - all dwarves received a new feature "Tireless 2" (Unit regenerates 2 extra Stamina every turn); - Fixed a bug that could occur in two missions, if the army had only nominal heroes. Thank you all for your support, patience and kind words! Good luck in the new year!
Changes in version 1.2.8: - the enemies have a less wish to throw potions at the beginning of the battle. Of course, they will continue to do this, but this will not give them the same pleasure ))). - in the mission " Dark Clouds" a hint was added. - fixed an error when saving the game when there are already 64 saves. Now you will see a message that you can not have more than 64 saves.
DLC "Death Speaker" is fully translated into Polish! Many thanks, Martius R!!! This wonderful man previously translated into Polish original game. Thanks again! Other changes: - now the lighting zone from the fire changes more smoothly.
Thanks to everyone who continues to support us, write reviews and share advice – it inspires us to reach for new heights!
Changes in the new version:
- Redesigned lighting visualization. Evening now turns to blue, and fire flickers. I hope you will enjoy!
- A small addition to the text of one of the missions.
- Fixed a bug where enemies appearing during a battle didn't increase the reward for completing a mission.
Warbanners v1.2.5 adds the Chinese translation for the game's ‘Death Speaker’ DLC. Many thanks to Project Gutenberg |游戏 古 登堡 计划!
Work continues on the translation of Warbanners into French, Spanish and Italian. The transfers are carried out by the efforts of volunteers, so we're not yet able to name the approximate terms of their completion at this time.
Other changes:
- Corrected an error related to when the enemy breaking the barrel with the powder died of the explosion (in fact, we corrected it a week ago, just forgot to write about it in that post).
- Added a damage display that will be applied when using the "Throw Grenade" skill.
Changes
- Changed the algorithm for equipping enemies with potions. Enemies now have less potions thrown, but more potions drunk. This will reduce the number of debuffs that are imposed on the player's units (due to the fact that the number of thrown potions is less).
- Barrels of gunpowder now explode with one blow. Enemies are now more likely to approach barrels, as well as break them when it’s advantageous to do so.
- Arrows, potions and stones loosed from catapults now move along more natural (parabolic) trajectories.
- In Russian and English versions, the names of the difficulty levels have been changed. "Easy" is now called "Casual", and "Normal" is called "Classic". By default, the game offers to start playing at a "Casual" level of difficulty.
- The amount of gold obtained at the "Casual" level of difficulty has been slightly increased.
- The cost of Brondrin's assistant, who allows you to hire dwarfs, has been reduced from 70 to 50.
- The number of Necromancers in the "Where the dead things are" mission have been reduced at the casual and classic level of difficulty.
Gameplay Tips
- In the second mission, many players don’t seem to understand the importance of using "Liquid Fire". Illumination is one of the key mechanics of the combat system: Please, throw at least one potion at the enemies – you’ll see how your chances of success dramatically increase!
- Another hint with the Necromancers in the "Where the dead things are" mission – we’ve noted many players do not try to address the necromancers first. Necromancers are much more dangerous than zombies or skeletons, destroy them immediately for better results!
If you have suggestions for how we can better illustrate these or any other key mechanics/features, please let us know here on the Steam discussion boards, or on our Discord: https://discord.gg/EQ3VbRd -- and of course if you enjoy Warbanners, please consider telling others that might be interested, posting a review, etc. to help us continue to get the word out. Thanks for your support!
Minor changes and updates include: - When defending of fortresses summoned allies no longer try to break through the gates. - Enemy behavioral changes. Potions are now, usually, employed a little later. - Battle musical theme added. - A truly rare error has been fixed.

We've had a few requests for a package that offers both Warbanners base game and the new Death Speaker DLC together -- thus the Warbanners Complete Edition is born!
If you're a current owner of Warbanners and/or Death Speaker looking to support us further, please consider spreading the word to others that might be interested, posting a review, or creating a video series (if that's your thing). Our next steps include getting Death Speaker translated for all currently supported languages, and hopefully adding some entirely new translations as well.
May good fortune find you on the battlefield!

New in this version, you can now choose (in the "Options" menu) from three different types of Random Number Generators, which determine your hits and misses. The three types are:
"D100" 1 virtual die with 100 faces is rolled. This can lead to unpredictable results.
"5D20" 5 virtual dice each with 20 faces are rolled. The extreme highs and lows are much less likely with this type. This is the default system.
"Tokens" This version has no virtual dice, instead each attack is given a unique set of 20 virtual "tokens", based on the chance of success in the battle, and with the higher chance of success, more tokens will be white. So, for example, if an attack has a 60% chance of success, the unit will be given 12 white tokens and 8 black ones. Each time that unit tries to hit, one token will be selected, if it's white, the unit hits, if it's black, the unit misses, and the chosen token is removed. This continues until all tokens are used, then another 20 are created. This means that in a long engagement, if the example unit attempts to hit 20 times, they will hit exactly 12 of those 20 times.
Added a visual effect for assistant Set-Shamar.
Added a Morale mechanic:
- When a melee unit approaches an enemy, that enemy loses 1 Morale.
- When a unit dies, all allies in the radius of two hexes lose an additional 2 Morale. All other units lose their Morale as before (for example, the loss of an ally affects people more, orcs less).
- When a unit panics, all his allies lose 2 Morale. All allies in the radius of two hexes lose an additional 3 Morale (total loss of 5 Morale).
We don’t necessarily suggest memorizing all the nuances of changing Morale -- just remember that it affects almost everything that happens on the battlefield.
Another very important change is that we have eliminated most of the irritations of truly random calculations! The game no longer rolls virtual dice. In this new iteration each attack is assigned a unique set of 20 black and white digital tokens. The higher the chance of success, the more of tokens will be white. An attack with a 60% chance of success would for example get 12 white and 8 black tokens.
The game would then chose a random token for the first attack. A white one would translate to a hit, whereas a black one would be a miss. Thus, out of 20 attacks conducted with a 60% chance to hit there will always be 12 hits and 8 misses, as each following attack with a 60% chance from this set would access the same token-pool, but with one less token. When the tokens run out, the game will pick up 20 new ones. This type of calculation applies to all enemies, player units, and allies.
Periodically complaints are received that there are too many enemies, and they literally crush by their number. I decided to count the number of player units (together with allies) and the number of enemies in the first 12 missions, at normal difficulty level. So:
Mission 1. Player and allies: 9 units. Enemies: 5
Mission 2. Player and allies: 7 units. Enemies: 8
Mission 3. Player and allies: 7 units. Enemies: 6
Mission 4. Player and allies: 8 units. Enemies: 10
Mission 5. Player and allies: 13 units. Enemies: 8
Mission 6. Player and allies: 8 units. Enemies: 8
Mission 7. Player and allies: 9 units. Enemies: 9
Mission 8. Player and allies: 14 units. Enemies: 15
Mission 9. Player and allies: 10 units. Enemies: 11
Mission 10. Player and allies: 17 units. Enemies: 21
Mission 11. Player and allies: 26 units. Enemies: 27
Mission 12. Player and allies: 11 units. Enemies: 16
At the "hard" level, total enemy units are increased, and decreased on the "easy" level (naturally).
Not everyone knows that the game has a setting that allows you to reduce the health of all units (player units and enemies) by 30%. This setting can be turned on or off at any time and will kick in at the start of the next fight! For example, you can go through 3 missions with the setting turned on, then 2 with off, then 4 more with it back on – if you think that the battles are too tight, boldly turn on the setting!
The release of Warbanners took place on October 18, 2017. Since that moment, we have released a total of 19 updates!
Major changes made since launch:
- Added the "Undo move" button.
- Added the "Arena" area to the world map, where you can earn gold and experience.
- Added the new "Halberdier" unit.
- Resurrection of units has become virtually free of cost (the player receives compensation for losses in battle).
- Corrected some units, spells and skills.
- Improved balance in almost all missions (first by making the "easy" level easier), with major balance changes implemented for a trio of missions.
- Fixed issues with ultra-wide monitors and features, fixed a few small errors.
- Thanks to the efforts of volunteers: added localization in 5 languages! Translations for French, Spanish and Italian are currently underway.
I am happy to announce that our work on DLC “Death Speaker” is nearing completion. Death Speaker - is the first (and, probably, the last) paid DLC to Warbanners. In Death Speaker, the player will be led by an orc clan. The campaign consists of 8 missions and is completely linear. Approximate duration of the passage is about 5 hours. The release of the DLC is scheduled for either later this month or in April. The price will be $ 4.99.
Death Speaker
Thank you for all the support!
Added Turkish language! Many thanks to Lale Aleksandra Baş (https://twitter.com/drimadae)!
Other changes:
- Some players ran into issues with the firing of units, so we increased the "Disband" button in the army camp.
- A couple of very small edits of different locations.
P.S. Please consider writing a review if you enjoyed Warbanners!
Only about 1% (yes, just ONE out of every hundred buyers) has actually left a review to this point, which means review scores can be hugely swayed by just a single new review -- this can be pretty nerve-wracking as a developer.
We aren't asking for great epic works of prose, even a simple 'cool game' and a thumbs up is just as effective. Many thanks to everyone who have already done this! Beyond purchasing the game itself, it's the single best and easiest thing that you can do to support us.
Added Chinese language! Many thanks to Project Gutenberg | 游戏 古 登堡 计划 !
Other changes:
- AI change - magicians no longer fire from catapults.
- Fixed a bug where halberdiers could not attack units on the wall from the stairs.
Also, we are planning a sale this weekend to celebrate (we wanted to start it today, but didn't press the button in time) -- just something to keep in mind if you're considering a purchase!
Added Polish language! Many thanks, Marcin Kędzior!
A small change - Halberdiers are now in the arena as part of the enemy armies.
I also forgot to mention that in version 1.1.5 on certain maps some Swordsmen have been replaced by Halberdiers. A Halberdier will appear in the starting army of the player as well — you may already know it yourself...
A new unit is available for hire - the Halberdist (upgrade: 'Dig' and 'Defender')! Peasants are no longer available for hire. Their business is not war, but agriculture...
Balance updates:
Runesmith received +1 Armor;
Singing sword received +1 Strength;
Dancer received +1 to the Armor and +2 to Stamina;
Karranak received +1 for Speed.
Active skill "Throwing Knife" - cooldown is now equal to 2.
Units that have the maximum (not current!) Health or Stamina equal to 1 now die permanently.
Fixed a bonus from the "Giant's Scourge" feature - now the unit receives a +4 to Strength if defender has Ability “Rider” or “Huge" (previously received +3).
P.S. Translation into Chinese is tested. Active work is underway to translate into Spanish, Italian, Polish, French and Portuguese (Brazilian) languages.
A few small changes: - Corrections on a few inaccuracies in the Portuguese translation of the manual. - A small addition to the game manual in connection to the addition of the "arena" and the "undo" button. - The "Poison Cloud" spell now poisons units regardless of their Magic Resistance. PS Chinese localization is currently being tested! PPS Please, help Warbanners in the 2017 Indie of the Year: vote for Warbanners Thank you!
"Arena" has been added to the world map – an area where you can fight with enemies at any point to earn some gold and experience. For your opposition, you may choose greenskins, humans, undead or dwarves. The strength of the enemy army automatically adjusts to the strength of your army, taking into account the level of difficulty. Fights in the arena have nothing to do with the plot of the campaign.
Other changes:
- Zombies, skeletons, ents, spiders, raptors and poisonous toads will no longer be able to shoot from the catapult.
- Algorithm of the random number generator has been altered. Thanks for the advice, wabbit!
Changes: - Reduced the cost of resurrecting units. - Increased experience gained at the "easy" and "normal" levels of difficulty. - The final battle was a little easier. - Fixed skill "Defensive Stance". - Now AI does not drink the Courage Potion, being Raging. - Fixed the range of the potion "Stink Bomb". Now she is 4. The next update will mark the unlocking of “Arena” mode.
For this latest release, we've added a button to the control panel that allows you to undo the last action of the unit (move or rotate).
We've also tweaked the modding system: now the game first tries to find the units_modding.csv file (this is a file with your edited unit characteristics) in the folder with the Warbanners_1.exe executable. If the units_modding.csv file does not find the game, it loads the characteristics from the units_harakt.csv file. Thus, by adding, modifying or deleting the units_modding.csv file, you can change the characteristics of the units or return them to their original values.
...and "You shall not pass" has become easier an easy level.
Added cheat codes: Simultaneous hold "Ctrl", "T" and "Y" - kill the nearest enemy to the cursor. Simultaneous hold "Ctrl", "U" and "I" - get 100 gold (does not work in combat). Simultaneous hold "Ctrl", "O" and "P" - the player's unit closest to the cursor will gain 100 experience (only in the army camp). Other changes: - "Search for Eternity" has become easier (especially at an easy level). - Another correction of mouse hovering on buttons in briefings.
We added the ability to edit the characteristics of units (units_harakt.csv ). To edit the characteristics of units, you need to open the units_ harakt.csv file. We recommend that you open it in Google tables https://docs.google.com. Online version of this file (read-only): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19-H58MsWIDRs_Q_j6zIa9SK2xE6w6JxMYf47jULedb0/edit?usp=sharing Instruction on modding will soon be! Other changes: - correction of mouse hovering on buttons in briefings for some monitors. - fixed the problem when the briefings after the fight were closed with the second click of the mouse.
We're happy to announce that our work on solving compatibility issues with ultra-wide monitors is complete! You can now safely play Warbanners on any monitor! Thank you for your patience. Changes: - Fixed problems with ultra-wide monitors. - Increased the comfort of the game on 4K monitors. - Improved Portuguese localization. - The mission "The Search for Eternity" has become a bit easier. A little bit. - Fixed bugs when buying horses in the mission "Pursuit". The work on localization continues in French, Chinese, Polish, Spanish. If someone is willing to help with the translation into Spanish (most of the work is already done) – please write to me. Next up, we will add the ability to edit the characteristics of units in a convenient table form. We're also working on detailed instructions on how to edit save files.
Version 1.0.7 is released. Changes include:
- Added Portuguese (European) language. Many thanks Tiago!!!
- If Accuracy of an attacker equals Evasion of a defender, To-hit chance is 55%. Each 1 point in difference between Accuracy and Evasion changes the To-hit chance by 5%. To-hit chance can not be less than 10%.
- The share of experience gained by magicians has been slightly reduced.
- Fixed a bug related to not receiving karma in the "Scapegoat" mission.
- Slight adjustments to AI.
- Music no longer plays when the game window is minimized or another application/program is selected.
- Problems with ultra-wide monitors (2560 x 1080, 3440 x 1440) and 4K monitors. Unfortunately, we don't have such monitors, and are therefore working blindly. This build, of course, does not solve all the problems, but we hope that we are moving in the right direction. Please share with us what issues remain here (Screenshots would very much be of help – thank you for understanding!): http://steamcommunity.com/app/650440/discussions/0/1483233503862362226/
Changes: - Fixed a rare error when disband units. - The spell "Mass Heal" has become 1 Mana more. - "easy" difficulty are now easier. If you can not win at an "easy" level, then read the manual, ask for advice on the forum...
I'm happy to share the German localization of Warbanners has arrived! A great thanks to Henrik von Platen and Dirk Wienkotte. You are the best!
Work is well underway for French, Spanish, and Portuguese languages, we've begun working on a Polish translation, and we're discussing a potential Chinese localization as well.
In addition, there are a couple of changes:
- Mission: "Trouble is brewing" is now a little easier.
- The first 10 missions on "easy" difficulty are now easier to get through.
Warbanners version 1.0.4 is out now on Steam!
Changes:
- Achievements have been corrected, and thus should fix almost all instances where players have met the criteria, but not received the corresponding achievement.
- Balance adjustments have been made to a few missions. For instance, in the first mission with the siege, the orcs will no longer have a catapult! Hooray!
- Screenshots are now able to be deleted and download as intended.
- Another couple of minor edits.
Plans for the near future:
- Fixing problems with monitors 2560 x 1080 and 3440 x 1440.
- Improving the comfort when playing on 4K monitors -- increasing the font and we'll see what else.
- Make the "easy" level of difficulty... well, easier.
- Adding cheat codes.
- Add an "undo" button for movement and rotation only.
- Skirmish mode. If you're interested, please write on the forum what specifically you'd like to see with this:

Warbanners game is very hardcore! Careful planning of actions is a necessary condition for the survival of your army. Without studying game mechanics, without using potions and artifacts, without thinking about each move, enemies will quickly destroy your army! Warbanners - this is a real challenge to your tactical thinking!
I want to share with you those tips:
- if you are not a hardcore fan, put the difficulty level "easy" at once! Warbanners - a game with a high level of complexity - even with a "light" level of complexity, enemies are very dangerous.
- your alter-ego in the game is Roderick. This is a good warrior who wields the " Heroic Cry" skill. Try to apply the " Heroic Cry" on the first turn, cover as many of your units as possible. Also, Roderick has a passive "Commander" feature - it gives a bonus to Accuracy and Evasion to all allies within a 2-cell radius. This is a very good bonus, keep Roderick in the center of your army!
- Roderick and all swordsmen have a passive feature " Formation". Keep your melee fighters in pairs and each of them will receive a bonus to Evasion.
- in any case, do not let enemies to the magicians and archers! Artificial intelligence likes to make flanking detours ...
- As soon as possible, hire a priestess!
- Do not skimp on potions! It is desirable that each melee fighter (they are beaten most often) had a healing potion. It is very good to have at least one "Liquid Fire" potion in the army.
- carefully read the tutorial! Spend at least a couple of minutes and flip through the in-game manual. This will save you a lot of nerve cells!
- Do not shoot archers in the crowd of fighters! Red icons above the units are shown by allies, which prevent accurate shooting.
- never fight against the creatures of the night in the dark! Use "Liquid Fire", units with the "Shining" feature (for example, the priestess), fire, arson...
- When you hire a priestess, try to apply the "Blessing" spell to the maximum number of your units in the first turn! And remember her skill "Meditation". The combat qualities of the priestesses are minimal, but they are great support units.
- do not necessarily spend all the action points. Sometimes it is more useful to save them to restore Stamina. Tired units are fighting worse ...
- In missions where you have to defend fortresses, do not allow enemies to climb onto the walls. Come to the edge of the wall and hit the enemy while he stands on the stairs!
- do not worry about karma, it's not the main thing in the game. Karma affects some opportunities in dialogues, hiring elves, achievments and for something else ...
- it is unlikely that you will be able to pass Warbanners without casualty. Small casualty are acceptable. In my senses, it is permissible to lose 1 unit for 2-3 battles. If you have more losses, you should think about reducing the level of difficulty. If you already have an "easy" - write to the forum. There you will either get useful advice, or I will immediately tackle the simplification of the "easy" level. I am ready to play the game operatively so that you will enjoy it!
- Quick buttons will make controlling the game much more convenient. I especially recommend using a space to end the turn, and the "B" button to select the next unit that has enough Action Points and Stamina to attack.
It may have taken longer than expected, but we simply had to make sure Warbanners was great on launch, and, well, it is! It also out now, and ready to be played, and mastered. Grab Warbanners on Steam now, and prepare for engrossing fantasy, tactical, turn-based battles with subtle-but-crucial RPG elements! Please note that Warbanners is a game with a high level of difficulty - even at the "easy" level of difficulty, enemies are very dangerous! Only the most hardcore players who have mastered all game mechanics will be able to play the game at the "hard" level. Please, don't try this at home!
We've finally decided on the release date! Warbanners will launch on October 18! In honor of this event, we've replaced all the old screenshots with new ones and have released a brand new trailer as well.
We've made a lot of improvements as we prepare for release – adding animation to trees, the option to play with a reduced amount of Health for all units (speeding up battles), new environment sprites, and we seriously reworked the look of all the maps. Those who participated in our previous tests will be pleasantly surprised. :)
Another good bit of news is that the volunteers are translating text into Spanish and German! If you're interested in helping with the translation – please write to me.
Thank you for your patience and kind wishes!
Hello strategists, We can safely say that we have finally finished balancing Warbanners (OK, almost)! What's more, we have fleshed out our setting, and added many bits of useful and interesting trivia. We did, for example, craft a display showing the number of enemies killed by each unit, and made it possible to know which unit's characteristics is available at any point, and which enemy can be targeted. We also added damage mapping to spells, better and more informative markers for units, and went on and improved all sorts of other little things. The team also put a ton of work into the appearance of Warbanners; all units were re-colored, and more than half of our environmental sprites were redone, making the videos and screenshots currently on display rather obsolete. We will, of course, very soon be replacing them with the new shiny ones! Screenshot

Warbanners: Death Speaker
Key features:
• Create a unique army: hire and equip soldiers, develop their fighting qualities, and learn new skills.
• Hire assistants: although they do not participate in battles, assistants give different bonuses, including a formidable catapult, poisoning enemies, increasing morale, and much more.
• Immerse yourself in a multi-faceted battle system that takes into account a variety of factors, including landscape and lighting, the direction of the unit's gaze, morale, and fatigue.
• Use the environment for tactical purposes: freeze rivers, chop and burn trees, dig trenches, build bridges and barricades, and so on.
• Choose the optimal level of difficulty: from easy for beginners, to nightmarish for sophisticated tacticians.
With every step marked by blood and iron, an invisible but deadly threat becomes more tangible. Darkness, brooding in the corners of the soul, becomes ever more palpable....
