Recent updates and 1.0.7 patch

Dear bridge-builders,
below you can find information on what changes we made recently with a number of small build updates and hot-fixes, as well as a long-term plan for improving the health of our much beloved Leaderboards.
Recent Patch Changes
A number of changes and bug-fixes, including:

 • Fixed the Ranks screen sometimes not displaying properly
 • Fixed a bug with Hydraulics Controller when transitioning between levels
 • Icon update for Grid
 • Fixed a bug with Grid in Tutorial mode
 • A few other minor quality of life improvements and bug fixes
Long-term planned changes to Leaderboards
We recognize that over time we have had to deal with plenty of cheats and hacked scores, we do have a shadow-ban system in place that takes care of most, but not all, situations.
To improve the health of our Leaderboards going forward, we will be implementing the following changes over the next few weeks:

 • Prevent 'falling road' solutions from submitting in leaderboards
 • Prevent other known exploits from submitting to leaderboards
 • Remove Top 1% from all boards (this is where the majority of hacked scores live)

We realize a leaderboard purge isn't ideal, which is why we're limting it to just the top 1%. This will require top players to re-submit their scores to get their footing back on the boards, but we hope it will be useful in providing a more level playing field for everyone.

Any thoughts or comments please let us know, and thanks for playing.

1.0.5 Patch

Dear fellow engineers,
after a brief period from updates we're back with another patch!

This patch focuses on fixing a few pesky bugs, some of which could be exploited to submit invalid scores to the leaderboards.
We'll be focusing our attention over the next couple of weeks on leaderboards to make sure they stay clean and valid for everyone to enjoy.
Do keep in mind we have an automatic banning system that checks submissions every 24 hours, any submissions that have been tampered with will result in the player being banned from the leaderboards.

Bug fixes

 • Fixed an exploitable bug related to moving joints with the click&hold method and creating longer than allowed struts
 • Fixed an exploitable bug related to starting and stopping the simulation very quickly, which resulted in the simulation running without it affecting the bridge pieces
 • Fixed bug with Twitch authentication
 • Fixed bug with planes above left land-mass not causing bridge breakage
 • A few other minor bug fixes

If you find more bugs, suspicious scores on the leaderboards or have any requests please let us know, we're always happy to receive input from players.

Thanks!

The goat is watching...

Twitch Integration

A new kind of collaborative bridge-building experience is now possible with our Twitch Integration!

Twitch
Twitch is a live streaming video platform, allowing anyone to broadcast their game-play sessions and for an audience to watch the stream and participate in a chat.

We took it a step further and created a web-based version of Poly Bridge that allows viewers of a Twitch stream to take part in the building process itself!

A new kind of viewer experience
Viewers are no longer restricted to the chat-box, instead use an in-browser version of the game to build along with the streamer, submitting their suggestions on what and how to build

For Streamers
Poly Bridge lets the streamer play at their own pace and control how the interaction works, allowing for a tailored and entertaining viewer experience

To find out more on how to use the integration in-game or to find live a stream to participate in, head over to http://twitch.drycactus.com

1.0.4 Patch

Another day, another patch!
In today's patch we introduce some small improvements requested by players, as well as fixing a few minor bugs and tightening security around leaderboard submissions.

New launch parameters
Two new launch parameters have been added:

 • -noscaling : prevents the UI from automatically scaling since it can cause issues on some Linux multi-monitor setups
 • -nobackground : prevents the game from running in the background since it can cause GPU over-use on some setups

Grid changes
As requested by a few players, disabling grid-snapping will no longer entirely hide the grid, but rather make it more transparent, allowing you to still maintain the visual guides for symmetry but not forcing you to build on-grid.
The game will now also correctly remember your grid settings between play-sessions.

Leaderboard cheating
We've implemented more client-side checks to minimize submissions from hackers, and are almost finished with our automated tool to monitor leaderboards 24/7 and ban offending players.
A reminder that we use a server-side shadow-banning system, more info at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stealth_banning

Bug fixes

 • Fixed exploit on Wrecking Ball vehicle which allowed 'cheated' solutions to 100m level
 • Line tracer would occasionally crash when filling with segments of 1.0m length
 • Some minor bugs with the Twitch integration

In keeping with the tradition here's a cool picture from our artist Javier

And as always a big thank you to all our players for providing feedback, bug reports and great ideas to improve the game!

1.0.3 Patch

Another patch today, bringing you a couple of player-requested features and a few bug fixes.

Budget Auto-save
Many have asked for it, so here it is! Every time you complete a successful simulation run and the "Level Complete" dialog is displayed, the game will automatically save the bridge design to a new "Budget Autosave" slot available in the Load panel, only saving when the budget is lower than the already existing save, making it easy to keep track of your lowest-budget bridge for a specific level without having to manually save it.

Extra-wide aspect ratios and multi-monitor setups
We've fixed the bug that was preventing all the available resolutions from showing correctly in the Video Settings in-game.
If you're on a multi-monitor setup and the game is using the wrong display by default, you can change that by pressing and holding the 'Alt' key (or 'Shift') as soon as you launch the game, a dialog will appear where you can change the 'Display' drop-down to a different display.

Changes in 1.0.3

 • New: Budget Autosave
 • New: Custom shapes in Sandbox are colored according to the selected Theme
 • Bugfix: Sandbox was preventing Workshop submissions with over 99 pieces used in the solution of an unlimited resource
 • Bugfix: When flipping horizontally and pasting a split-joint, the attachment-side indicator would not flip correctly
 • Bugfix: Extra-wide aspect ratios not showing all available resolutions in Settings
 • Bugfix: Zero-thickness selection area causing selection of wrong items

As always, a big thank you to our dedicated players who take the time to let us know about bugs and provide input into improving the game and suggesting useful features.

Here's some fun sheep having lots of fun in Funland!

1.0.2 Patch

Another small patch today, primarily to address some crashing that users were experiencing on specific AMD CPUs, and also adding a feature that a few players requested: automatically load 'Autosave' when loading a level.

Changes

 • Player Request: Automatically load 'Autosave' when loading a level (off by default, toggle in the Load panel)
 • AMD CPUs fix
 • Small User Interface fixes
 • VSync should be correctly enabled on first boot

And another making-of image, finding the style for Zen Gardens

[ 2016-07-18 04:16:27 CET ] [ Original post ]

1.0.1 Patch

After a very busy and successful final release day, here's the first patch to address a few issues that some of our players were experiencing.

 • Fixed a bug what was preventing players from editing their existing Workshop Items
 • 'Esc' key now will always ask for confirmation before exiting a level or the game
 • Very wide aspect ratios (such as 21:9) now show the correct zoom-level when transitioning to simulation mode
 • High resolution monitors (2k and above) will now scale the UI automatically to avoid the elements and text from being dis-proportionally small compared to the physical screen size
 • Added the missing Steam Achievements for Tropical Paradise world
 • Fixed wrong theme settings on level 'The Two Towers'
 • It is now possible to select a different monitor when launching the game, as soon as you launch keep Alt (or Shift) pressed to bring up the display dialog selection

And here's a cool picture showing the process behind making some of the game's vehicles, by our talented artist Javier Villalba.

We're always here to listen to your feedback, suggestions and bug-reports, please don't hesitate to get in touch through the discussion boards.

Thanks!

1.0 - Crossing the bridge out of Early Access!

After a wildly successful year of community-driven development during our Early Access period, Poly Bridge launches today in its final version, bigger and better than ever, with more levels, new artwork, improved game modes, leaderboards, a greater variety of bridge-building functions, and even a revolutionary take on Twitch-streaming integration.

We would like to extend a huge warm thank you to the players that have supported us along the journey, giving us feedback, suggestions, and bug reports to allow us to make the game into what it is today, so much more than the little bridge-building game it was when it released into Early Access a year ago.

If you’ve been with us for a while, below you can find a list of the changes and additions that are part of final release.

Tropical Paradise
The final world of the Campaign has been added, 15 new levels await you in Tropical Paradise, but don’t be fooled by the name, they are hellishly hard!

Featured Items in Workshop
We’ve added a convenient ‘Featured’ tabs to the in-game Workshop browser, every week or so we will be rotating these featured levels, making it easier for you to find cherry-picked Workshop content.

Sandbox Themes
You may now set a theme (Alpine Meadows, Deserts Winds, etc) when designing a Sandbox level.
The terrain outline will now show while in Blueprint mode, and selecting the start or end terrain will allow you to change its shape by choosing from one of six available options.

Twitch Integration
We’re pleased to announce the public release of the Twitch Integration we’ve been working on for the last few months. This allows Twitch streamers to interact with the audience in a new and unique way, giving viewers the ability to build their own bridge and submit it to the streamer as a suggestion, creating an exciting and entertaining collaborative experience.
Find out more at http://twitch.drycactus.com

Improvements & Bug Fixes

 • Replay Editor improvements to make it clearer how to edit down your replay’s length
 • When hovering over a split joint selector, the affected bridge strut is now highlighted
 • Static Joints are now represented with a red square
 • Split Static Joints no longer attempt to invert the numbering
 • Clipboard contents can now be rotated by 1° increments
 • Fixed a startup hang on certain hardware
 • Fixed crackling background music issues some players were experiencing
 • Many other small improvements and fixes

Build 0.77b-p3

Hello again fellow engineers!
A small patch today, mainly to correct a small issue introduced in yesterday's patch, and also an improvement with the colliders for the environment.

Collidable Environment
The environment is now fully collidable, so you will no longer see vehicles mysteriously disappearing and popping out the other side.
Instead, you can do fun stuff like smash vehicles into this pretty mountain:

Bug Fixes

 • Fixed issue with checkpoints not triggering correctly when transitioning from a previous level
 • Binding key actions to modifers (Ctrl,Alt,etc) is no longer allowed

As always if you find any bugs or have any suggestions please let us know!
Thanks!

Build 0.77b-p2

New Road Changes
As you may be aware we made some fundamental changes last week to how the roads are simulated, which resulted in introducing a new mechanic: reinforced roads. We've spent the last week tweaking values and improving the reliability of road simulations.

Leaderboard Reset
As we iterate over new road changes we need to ensure leaderboard entries stay relevant; because of this we have reset the leaderboards. Please keep in mind we will likely be resetting leaderboards at least once more before Final Release, thanks for your patience!

Leaderboard Rankings
Many of you requested a way to get an overview of your Leaderboard rankings, we tried a few different things and eventually settled on a 'Ranking View' that displays the percentile you're in for each Campaign Level, giving you a clear indication as to how you're placed within each Leaderboard compared to the total number of players. Access via Leaderboard>My Ranks on the World Map.

Leaderboard Banlist
We're actively monitoring the leaderboards and banning players that hack or cheat their entries. If you see any values that look suspicious, please let us know. We want to ensure the leaderboards stay challenging and valuable for everyone to compete in.

In-Game Gallery
This patch also introduces a new in-game Gallery browser accessible from the Main Menu, and is also used to display the replays associated with a Workshop item, which you can open with the 'Community Replays' button in the Workshop browser.

You can now easily filter by level, show only your own replays, the replays of your Steam friends, and any replays associated with a specific user. If you want to share a replay that you find in the in-game Gallery a convenient 'Copy Link to Clipboard' button is available.

New Features

 • Leaderboard rankings view
 • In-game gallery
 • New level in Zen Gardens

Bug Fixes

 • Line Tracer no longer causes the mouse-drag lock-up issue
 • Arc Tracer Shape pop-up now closes correctly
 • Road placement exploit fixed
 • Flipping a vehicle during simulation no longer makes it weightless
 • Hydraulic Controller should display correctly when appropriate
 • Ships correctly break road again
 • A number of other minor bug-fixes

Improvements

 • Social media authorization window now supports pasting (useful if you use a password manager)
 • Leaderboards size increased (Top 20 and ±5 around your rank)
 • Show time-stamp for save-files when hovering over 'Info' button in the Load/Save panels
 • Split-joint Index Choosers no longer overlap

Suggestions

Please help us improve the game by reporting bugs and relating your feedback and suggestions. You can do so here on the forums, on our subreddit, or by email.

Every bridge needs support, thank you for supporting us during Early Access!

Build 0.77b-p1 (Reinforced Roads)

Hello again Engineers,
another quick update today as a follow-up to yesterday's changes about how roads are simulated.

After more testing and receiving very useful feedback from the community, we're introducing a way to allow road reinforcement.
This should greatly minimize the current issue of roads being over-loaded while keeping the game's balance mostly unchanged.

Before
Notice how the left piece of road is the first to break off, and the rest follows

Reinforcing road with a wooden strut
You can now place another strut on top of an existing road strut to reinforce it

After
With the load minimized on the road strut, it's smooth sailing for this van

We'll still be adjusting values in the coming days to find the best balance possible, but wanted to get this change out there to hear your feedback and ideas.

Stress Indicator
We've also added a useful stress indicator at the bottom of the screen, visible during Simulation, which shows the current highest stress value across the bridge

Thanks for your support
We highly appreciate the feedback we've been receiving, in particular we would like to thank 'I_am_a_great_magician' for his input and ideas in strengthening the new road system.

Please let us know what you think of these changes and thanks for your ongoing support during the development of the game!

Early Access Update #9 - Build 0.77b

We have a quick update for you Engineers. We’re releasing this update a little earlier than usual because we want to test out a new method of calculating the physics of roads, further details below. But first, a couple new features!

Δ Achievements
Each level has a new goal 'Under Budget and Under 100% Stress'. The mark of a true engineer is building structures that can stand up to repeated use. Each level completed this way will be marked with a Δ in its tooltip and the level tile will turn blue. As before your completion stats for the Campaign are shown at the top of the World Map.
Your Achievements are now viewable from the World Map and there are also new Unbreakable achievements for each World. You may have to run the last level of each World again for the achievements to register. A few budgets have been adjusted on existing levels to make them more achievable.

Steam Leaderboards
Leaderboards have been added for each Campaign level, viewable from the World Map also. When you successfully complete a Campaign level the Leaderboards will display alongside the histograms. Your own score and place will display as well as the top five. Click the ‘Friends Only’ button to see how you compare to your Steam Friends! Try to get the lowest budget and claim the #1 spot or challenge your Steam Friends and prove your engineering skill.

New Roads
The big change of this patch is a new way of simulating roads. Previously we were using some reinforcement logic but have never been happy with it, and it also opened up a few exploits to ‘cheat’ the game.
The new road simulation is now more reliable and accurate, however it also offers less compressive resistance and will tend to ‘tear apart’ a bit more easily than before, which means you might find a number of your existing bridge designs won’t work anymore.
Generally it’s easy enough to tweak your existing designs to work again, and often requires thinking a bit more about re-directing tensile forces away from the road and into the surrounding structure.
Please let us know what you think of this change!

New Features

 • Two Campaign levels replaced in Snow Drift: 3-6 Up & Away and 3-14 Stop & Go
 • Steam Leaderboards Added
 • New Δ achievement for each level and World

Bug Fixes

 • Quick Access Wheel correctly shows available materials now
 • Restart events now labelled correctly in Level Info
 • Missing Level Names have been restored in English
 • Pasting and Undo/Redo will no longer generate a sound for each piece generated
 • Various minor bug fixes

Improvements

 • An ‘Are you sure?’ dialogue will come up when attempting to exit the game from within a level
 • When moving a joint red highlights will display when a strut is unable to move in the direction pulled
 • Steam Achievements and Leaderboards now visible from World Map
 • Various exploits removed

Next Update

The new manual and campaign world Tropical Paradise are coming along nicely but won’t be ready until next patch as scheduled. Look forward to those!

Suggestions

Please help us improve the game by reporting bugs and relating your feedback and suggestions. You can do so via the in-game Feedback tool, on our Steam Forums, on our subreddit, or by email.

Early Access Update #8 - Build 0.76b

It's time for a new update Engineers!

Art Overhaul
The artwork has had a major update and features a brand new fresh look, with unified colour palettes and levels of detail, which includes all the Worlds and also all the Vehicles. We’ve also included a great looking Ambient Occlusion pass which really brings out the detail and depth of the environment. The lighting and background colours have also been adjusted to better suit the colour palette of each World.

The Sandbox theme has been updated too, replacing the old theme for both new and old Sandbox/Steam Workshop levels.

New Levels
We've added 23 new levels to the Campaign with a few levels replaced in Alpine Meadows and Desert Winds. At least three new levels were added to each World, bringing the total per World up to 15. These Campaign levels make use of the new hydraulic controller and checkpoints that were introduced in the previous update to Sandbox. When loading these new levels for the first time a pop-up will display, explaining how these features work.

Quick Access Wheel
The much loved Tool Wheel, which was removed with the UI overhaul a few months ago, has now found its way back into the game as the Quick Access Wheel to the joy of many! Use Middle Click (or keyboard ‘A’) to bring it up and select your building material without going all the way over to the bottom bar.

We’ll also be including finalized translations for Brazilian-Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified-Chinese, and Spanish. Partial translations for some of these languages are available now, they are incomplete though.

Early Access Update #7 - Build 0.75b - Sandbox 2.0

Welcome Engineers to another edition of Poly Bridge!

Sandbox 2.0

The new Sandbox 2.0 is finally here! The level creator has been overhauled with dozens of new features including the highly requested checkpoints, a completely new visual style, a node-based event system, custom objects, unbreakable contraptions, and more! We've also included the ability to tag your Workshop submissions with a difficulty rating or as an Autoplay level as detailed below.

Node-based Event System

The event system has been completely overhauled, and level designers can now create multiple branching event paths and special groups that trigger when a vehicle hits a specific checkpoint, adding much greater depth to the puzzle making aspect.

Hydraulic Controller

The hydraulic controller allows players to set whether or not any particular hydraulic will activate during any given hydraulic phase. This feature can be enabled in the Sandbox and can be part of any Workshop item submissions; we plan on integrating this feature into some of the Campaign levels in the near future.
Check out this bridge design by bolt986:

Autoplay and Difficulty Tags

When uploading a Sandbox level to the Steam Workshop you may now tag the level with a difficulty rating from Easy to Insane. You can now mark a level as Autoplay; this loads the solution bridge for the player when starting the level. To compliment this you can tag your Workshop level as 'Art', a 'Replica', or a 'Contraption'. Players will be able to search for Workshop levels in-game with the above tags in the next patch.

In-Game Workshop Browser

You can now rate a Workshop level from in-game and we've provided Steam Overlay links to follow an author or comment on the level. We've also added a new 'Following' tab to the in-game browser so you can search followed authors portfolios.

Longer GIFs

GIF capture duration can be increased to a max length of 30 seconds, defaulting to 10 seconds. Warning: This may cause the game to crash if your video card does not have enough VRAM to capture the full time.

New Features

 • Node-based event system
 • Checkpoints (Stop, Reverse, Change Speed)
 • Hydraulic Controller, fine-tune which hydraulics get activated when
 • Workshop Level Tags
 • Split Joints can now connect to any other Split at the end of a Hydraulics Phase
 • Custom shape creator in Sandbox
 • Time delays can be set for any event
 • Unbreakable mode added to Sandbox
 • Replay Folder now settable in Settings
 • GIF recorder settable to 30 seconds, defaults to 10 seconds
 • You may now skip the tutorial by exiting to the campaign
 • Workshop: Rate levels in-game
 • Workshop: Follow author (opens Steam Overlay)
 • Workshop: Search by authors ‘Following’
 • Workshop: Comment on items (opens Steam Overlay)

Bug Fixes

 • New players can now split joints properly in Alpine Meadows
 • Grid is now infinite
 • Hotkeys now swap appropriately
 • Space no longer starts simulation while typing in a text box
 • Various minor bug fixes

Hotfix 0.75b-p1

 • Fixed issue with Event Retriggers not loading correctly in Workshop
 • Fixed issue with Custom Shapes showing vertices in Workshop
 • Fixed issue with Checkpoint Reverse modifier on a flipped vehicle

Next Update

Our lead Artist, Javier, is currently busy doing a big overhaul of the art style and colour palettes, as well as creating further themes for the level designers to make levels in, who are also keeping busy these days creating new levels for everyone to enjoy.
Adrian Talens, the musician, has been improving the sound effects and engine sounds to be used for each vehicle, so you should be hearing improvements in that area too.
As always we will keep fixing bugs and implementing new features that our players request.

Biggest update ever! Build 0.73b (Early Access Update #5)

Hello our Dearest Engineers!
We're very excited to bring you another update to your favorite bridge-building game, and this is a large one so make sure to read all the juicy details!

You can also view a video where we talk about the major features and improvements of this update https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX9r5zoX_b4
Cut, Copy, and Paste!
Cut, Copy, and Paste commands are now available! Finally you can build that mega-structure you've been dreaming about!

Use right-click (or Ctrl+left-click) to select or drag-select the desired bridge pieces, which you can then Delete, Cut or Copy.
Once you have items in the clipboard, you can flip them horizontally or vertically and stamp them onto your bridge multiple times.

New Worlds: Snow Drift and Zen Gardens

There are two new worlds with 25 new Campaign levels! We've added some more traditional levels and a few unorthodox ones, all brought to you by our wonderful community level design team. We also snuck a new level into Ancient Ruins, more on that below.

Level Reorganization
We did a complete rework of the order of the current campaign levels. This was to smooth out the difficulty curve, especially on the first two worlds. Alongside that we removed one duplicate level and replaced it with ‘Nice Landing’ in Ancient Ruins.

Sandbox/Workshop
We've streamlined the Steam Workshop submission process from the Sandbox, making it much more intuitive and easier to submit new levels and update your previous ones.
We’ve also added an in-game Workshop Browser, so you never need to leave the game to find more levels to play.

New Features

 • Improved Split Joints, you can now choose sides! Zoom in to access
 • Copy, Paste, and Flip Clipboard
 • Selection and Delete have been revamped to work with Copy/Paste
 • 7 new tracks added to the in-game Soundtrack
 • Unlimited Budget Mode; unlocked by completing a world
 • Unlimited Materials Mode; unlocked by completing a world under budget
 • Delete Campaign Progress button, with ‘Are you sure?’ dialogue, included in Options
 • Level Progression Indicator; displays how many levels you have completed and completed under budget on the World Map
 • New vehicle: Wrecking Ball. Swinging ball of destruction paired with the heaviest vehicle yet! Weighing in at a staggering 16 Polygrams it’s sure to add a challenge to even the simplest bridges

Improvements

 • Correctly save your bridge designs when playing Workshop levels
 • Sandbox files are now paired with bridge design save-files in the Sandbox/Build modes
 • Boat outlines now display more accurately where a boat will be traveling
 • Upgraded game engine to Unity 5.2.2, this hopefully will resolve the known issue with switching windows as detailed in the previous patch notes
 • Sandbox UI brought in-line with other UI elements
 • Increased size of Hydraulic arrows making them easier to click on
 • Grid toggle unlocked once tutorial complete
 • Removed drawing restrictions on non-road materials; draw from far away for easy straight lines
 • Platforms have been adjusted to always be on grid; this makes them easier to align with red static joints. Existing platforms in Sandbox need to be resized or remade to snap to grid
 • Order of events displayed in ‘Level Info’ for each campaign level
 • Vehicles on the same phase will now display as A1, A2, etc...
 • Added a tooltip explaining Colourblind Mode
 • Removed warning about needing split joints
 • Budget on ‘Collision Course’ set to $200,000
 • Level numbers now displayed
 • Many typos fixed

Bug Fixes

 • You can now delete phases in Sandbox
 • Fixed a seemingly random break occurring on some hydraulic levels
 • Level transitions should now happen cleanly
 • Adjusted the default simulation angle on ‘Downward Tube’
 • Fixed Mac Retina Display resolution issues
 • Many small fixes, too many to mention

Next Update
Next update we plan to include a New World even more difficult than Zen Gardens, look forward to that! We also plan to revamp and slightly expand the tutorial to include the newest features. Finally we’re going to implement Checkpoint Flags, increasing the flexibility of the level possibilities! Of course there will be plenty more new features and bug fixes, as always.

Suggestions
Please help us improve the game by reporting bugs and relating your feedback and suggestions. You can do so via the in-game Feedback tool, here on the Steam Forums, on our subreddit, or by email.

Early Access Update #4 - Build 0.72b

Welcome back for another update of Poly Bridge, engineers. We have a lot of great new features and bug fixes for you so let's dig in!

Opt-in beta adopters: This build fixes a number of issues found during the beta-testing period of 0.72b, thanks for helping us!

New World: 80s Funland

We've unlocked 12 new levels with some challenging puzzles. Many of these levels aren't traditional bridges, but we feel a large portion of the fun of Poly Bridge is about having few limitations and supporting unique challenges. We have more levels in development, expect new worlds soon! Also, the decorations are currently all the same between levels, we're going to be adding a few more layouts before we push the build public.

Sandbox/Workshop

Many sandbox bugs have been fixed as detailed below. One important thing to note; if you'd like to update your current Workshop Level you will have to submit it again and delete the old one to remove your solution from the thumbnail and ensure the budget, materials, and event orders are saved properly. We are looking to integrate the Steam Workshop in-game browser in the near future to make this process smoother.

New Features

 • Campaign: Online Stats! Histograms! See how well you fared against the crowd.
 • Name (and rename) your save files!
 • Pause the simulation by dragging the speed slider or with the 'P' key.
 • Five new Sandbox vehicles: Taxi, Police Car, Tuk-Tuk, Sports Car, Little Bug
 • Guide: Plenty of useful tips and tricks. Hosted here and viewable in-game with the Steam Overlay.
 • New Option Toggle: 'Colour Blind Mode': Stress Colours appear as White-Grey-Black instead of Green-Yellow-Red.

Bug Fixes

 • Replays: Changed aspect ratio to 16:9 and fixed Mac replays coming up as grey.
 • Hydraulics: Hydraulics no longer move out of order.
 • You can no longer both fail and succeed a map simultaneously.
 • Migrated progress to Steam Cloud; this should now carry over between computers with the same SteamID.
 • Sandbox: Removed solution thumbnail from new Workshop submissions. Now displays level without solution as expected.
 • Sandbox: Fixed save bug caused by deleting objects and a related bug where the win screen wouldn't always appear.
 • Sandbox: Workshop maps will now load material/budget limits and the order of events correctly.
 • Sandbox: Lots of small things, more to come!

Improvements

 • Upgraded game engine to Unity 5
 • Added option to reset controls to default and erase all Campaign progress
 • Camera remembers last positions now!
 • Removed Sandbox and World locks. Play how you want.
 • Suspensions: Improved stability overall and added functions to change parameters on suspension cord's shape.
 • Increased strength of Suspension by 50%.
 • Raised the budget of 'Ancient Ruins - 24m Low Budget Overpass' slightly.
 • Increased transparency of water.
 • Increased speed of boats.
 • Swapped '14m Double Jump' and '40m Double Monster Jump' levels. See Next Update section below for more info.
 • Tweaked hydraulic % display, hopefully for the last time!
 • Increased the weight of the Ice Cream Truck by almost 15%.

Known Issues

There is currently a known issue with Unity 5 that causes the UI to disappear if you adjust your resolution in game. After setting your resolution, make sure to press 'Enter' on your keyboard to confirm the new resolution. You can then exit the game manually with Alt+F4 (or Command+Q on Mac). Load Poly Bridge again and your resolution should be updated. If you need to manually adjust your resolution instructions can be found here.

Next Update

As you can see above we swapped two level's positions on the World Map. We did this because we received a great deal of feedback about the difficulty curve suddenly increasing on '14m Double Jump'. Next update we're looking to do a complete re-organization of the existing levels as well as implementing at least twelve new levels. These changes should not impact your save files or each levels Completed/Under Budget status. We are aiming to make the difficulty curve more gradual and less jagged.

We also look to include the clipboard you've all been waiting for. Yes that's right: copy, paste, and flip! Build massive structures with ease.

Ongoing work will be done in the Sandbox/Workshop area, adding more content, implementing player requested features, and overall improving the experience of sharing levels across the Steam Workshop. And, as always, more bug fixes coming with each patch.

Suggestions

Please help us improve the game by reporting bugs and relating your feedback and suggestions. You can do so via the in-game Feedback tool, on our Steam Forums, or by email.

Early Access Update #3 - Build 0.71b

Time for another update!

This update focuses primarily on some key features and changes that players have requested, as well as fixing many of the recurring bugs you might have been seeing.

Important!

The default control scheme has changed!
You can view and change the controls in the Options menu at any time.

Toggle Simulation = Space Bar
Toggle Tool Wheel = T

New Features

 • Hydraulic Controller: Allows you to set how far a hydraulic piston contracts or extends
 • Steam Cloud: All save files are now using Steam Cloud so they are shared across devices
 • Customizable Keys: You can now customize your own key mapping
 • In-range Joints Visualizer: You can now see which joints will be in-range of a newly created joint at the current mouse position
 • New track! Our awesome composer, Adrian Talens, has just finished work on another track, it's in-game and you can also listen to it now on Soundcloud.

Bug Fixes

 • Level loading transition bug (aka: double-level bug), which would also cause the UI to disappear
 • Under-budget levels not marked correctly in some cases
 • Under-water exploit (sorry, no more driving under water!)
 • Static Joints move exploit
 • Infinity road exploit
 • Save files sometimes not working

Improvements

 • Joint Stress colors improved, now using HSV and not RGB
 • Ability to delete save files
 • GIF replays now look much nicer (if you have anti-aliasing enabled)

Online Gallery
We've also done more work on our new Online Gallery website, which you can view at http://gallery.drycactus.com/
Any new submissions will go to the new gallery, as the old one is being phased out.

You can now log-in with you Steam account to view your own submitted replays, and to comment and vote on yours and others submissions.

The Online Gallery now also stores the stats of the replay, such a level, max stress, budget, etc.

We'll be doing more work on the Online Gallery to implement player requested features, such as Official Competitions, and storage of the actual save-files so that you can "import" a bridge design into the game from a user submission and mess around with it.

Next Update

Just so you know what the plans are for the next update, which you can expect before the end of August, we're now hard at work on drastically improving the Sandbox, as well as knee deep into level design, so expect to be challenged by some more crazy levels soon!

Suggestions?

As always, please help us improve the game by reporting bugs and giving us your feedback and suggestions.
You can do so from within the game's "Feedback" menu, or here on the Steam forums, or even by email if you prefer.

Thank you very much for your support during our Early Access period!

Early Access Update #1 (Build 0.69b)

We had a few bug reports come in, in particular a critical bug that meant one of the levels in Ancient Ruins could not be solved (20m Cross Jump).
That's been fixed, along with a few other UI related issues.
