The dates for this year's Rites of Spring are as follows:
And, of course, theres a whole array of seasonal rewards for you to earn during this time, including the return of the Spring Cottontail and Caerleon Cottontail mounts. Read on to learn more
Springs Bounty
Across the open world, all treasure chests will be sprouting up at a much increased rate for the duration of this event. And in addition, special Spring Treasure Chests will be appearing, containing a host of valuable items and, if youre lucky, Spring Cottontail Eggs and Eerie Cottontail Eggs. These Eggs can be raised into the Spring Cottontail and Caerleon Cottontail mounts, respectively. These Tier 8 mounts are notoriously difficult to catch - both in their rarity and their speed - and are simply some of the cutest mounts youll ever see. Each come with a unique Hop ability, while the Caerleon Cottontail also has the terrifying Rabbit Frenzy ability. You really dont want to be on the wrong end of that, trust me.
And Theres More
On top of all these rewards, Colored Eggs are popping up across Albion again, containing chocolate, Surprise Eggs, and, very occasionally, Cottontail Eggs. Yes, thats a lot of eggs. And its a busy time for Albions vanity merchants, who are sure to do a roaring trade in Eggsecutioner vanity weapons, Bunny Stalker Wardrobe items, Chocolate Bars, and more. Phew, thats a lot of goodies up for grabs this year. Think we need a lie down before the frenzy starts. Oh no, what are those bunny ears coming this way |
[previewyoutube=tzXrO7EupHk;full][/previewyoutube]
The Beta Season
There will also be a one-off Beta Guild Season running for the duration of the Albion Europe Beta, with more unique rewards up for grabs for guilds:

Crystal Raiders kicked off 2024 with a bang for Albion Online, bringing Territory Raiding, a reworked Conquerors Challenge, and the opportunity to compete for Crystal Weapons. But it also marked the start of Albions new update schedule, and its already time to introduce the next major update: Foundations. Game Director Robin Henkys sat down to share some insights into whats in the pipeline.
Fortifications stand to benefit the game in a variety of ways:
Daily Reward Chests
To add a further incentive for guilds to strengthen their territory defenses, their value will be increased:
Further Additions and Improvements
The Foundations update will of course include additional features, for example:
Raiding and Fortifications will receive ongoing refinements and additions beyond this update, and new Crystal Weapons will of course continue to be developed. But beyond that, we will look to improve existing game features in a forthcoming update, and we welcome your suggestions and feedback! In the meantime, thanks for watching and stay tuned for more on Foundations soon! |

Albion's open-world zones fall under one of fivebiomes Steppe, Forest, Swamp, Mountain, or Highlands which determine which resources and creatures it contains. In addition to their own distinct visuals and terrain, each biome contains three of the five major natural resources:
The Royal Continent: The Heart of Albion
After you finish the tutorial (which takes place on its own separate mini-island), you'll be transported to theRoyal Continentto start your adventure. The Royal Continent is Albion's massive southern landmass, and is home to the game's five Starter Towns (where you'll first land after the tutorial) and the six Royal Cities. The Royal Continent containsblue, yellow, andredzones, but noblack zones(seeZones and Flaggingfor more info). Thus, while full-loot PvP is possible, the 100% unflagged, always-hostileblack-zone PvPis limited to the Outlands.
The Outlands: Albion's Wild Frontier
TheOutlandsis Albion's major northern landmass, accessed from the Royal Continent via fiveRealmgatesin each of the five Royal Cities. All zones in the Outlands areblack zones, meaning "winner takes all" rules apply, and any player can attack any other player with no reputation loss. The Outlands are where much of Albion'sguild warfaretakes place, with guilds battling over territories and placingHideouts.
Alternate Realms
The open world of Albion includes realms that exist on alternate planes outside of mapped regions. These realms are unstable, and feature unpredictable zone connections, group size limitations, and varying entry/exit conditions. Roads of Avalon:The Roads of Avalon are a network of hundreds of regions, accessed via portals that open at random throughout the open world. Once inside, Black Zone PvP rules apply and any portal found could lead to any part of Albion's open world or further into the Roads with no connection being permanent. The Mists:A magical region that can be entered through short-lived portals. These areas do not correspond to any particular biome and can contain all resources. You can also find one-way connections to different parts of the world or a portal to the City in the Mists:Brecilien. The Mists also feature unique creatures found nowhere else, which have a chance to drop rare and valuable artifacts when defeated.
Albion's Cities and Towns
Starter Towns:Each major biome region on the Royal Continent is home to one of five "Starter Towns": Steppe Cross, Mountain Cross, Swamp Cross, Forest Cross, and Highlands Cross. These towns offer basic marketplaces and crafting/refining stations for players who are just starting out. Royal Cities:Each of the five Royal Continent biome regions also corresponds to aRoyal City:
In addition to their own unique crafting and refining bonuses, the Royal Cities offer plots of land for sale, access to private and guild islands, local player-run marketplaces, the chance to join the city's Faction and fight in Albion's Faction Warfare system, and (with the exception of Caerleon) Realmgate access to the Outlands. Rests (Outlands Towns):While the Outlands are generally wild and hostile, three small towns called Rests Merlyn's Rest, Morgana's Rest, andArthur's Rest offer a chance to buy and sell goods, craft items, refine resources, and log off safely in the midst of Albion's most dangerous zones.
Getting Around Albion
On foot or mounted:The best way to see what Albion has to offer is to simply head out into the world, either on foot or on a trustymount. Whether you have a destination in mind, or are just exploring, you're sure to encounter something new each time you set out. You'll generally want to bring a mount along for the added speed and carry weight they offer. Fast travel:In Albion, fast travelis limited to specific destinations, and can only be initiated via the Travel Planner or Island Merchant NPCs. As trade and transport are essential parts of Albion's economy, fast travel to most destinations is only free when your inventory is completely empty, and becomes dramatically more expensive with each additional item. Realmgates & Portal Towns:Each of the five Royal Cities has a Realmgate leading to aPortal Townthat shares a Marketplace and a Bank with its corresponding city. These each then lead into a different part of the Outlands. |
Potions are equippable consumables that apply temporary buffs or debuffs when used. There are a total of 14 potions available, each with a unique ability. Potions offer defensive, offensive, and various other utility options to help you on your adventures in Albion Online. |
Grab the bundle today and send a chill down your enemies spines! |

Players can get a number of rewards by actively participating in guild activities. If the guild owns Hideouts or territories they can use Power Cores and Power Crystals to level their Hideouts and territories respectively while gaining a significant amount of Might for their personal Conquerors Challenge, and earn Favor to purchase additional items at the Energy Manipulator. Owning territories and Hideouts as a guild also provides safety to your members. Here they can meet, store their equipment, or seek shelter from an enemy group. Leveling up a Hideout using Power Cores also increases the resource return rate of items crafted there, which is a great way for crafters to increase their profit margins. Additionally, climbing the guild rankings will upgrade your personal Conquerors Chest within the Conquerors Challenge. When a territory generates siphoned energy, all guild members will also get a daily might bonus that they can claim in their Conquerors Challenge UI.
Personal Rewards
You can also gain Might and Favor when actively playing and participating in guild activities. Might is used to progress in the Conquerors Challenge, which can be viewed in the Activities UI. Advancing your Conquerors Challenge will unlock a Small, Medium or Grand Conquerors Chest, each becoming more valuable. In addition, if your guild reaches a higher rank it will also upgrade the Conquerors Chest which expands and increases the rewards. This can include battle mounts, temporary fame buffs, unique avatars and artifacts for Crystal Weapons. You can also receive a Grand Conquerors Chest every week for reaching 20,000 Might. If you don't attain this in a week, your progress will carry over to the next week. Might is earned through activities in lethal areas, including guild objectives, PvE, Gathering, Hellgates, and more. Some Might is also gained when your guild levels up within a season bracket. Favor can be used at the Energy Manipulator to purchase various items like Tomes of Insight, Siphoned Energy or Avalonian Crests. Favor is gained from activities that award Might but dont have direct loot associated with them, such as Power Crystals, Power Cores, or some PvE activities. In addition, you can earn Favor for every 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000 Might earned every week. Guilds play a central role in the world of Albion, so if youre interested in joining one yourself you can use the Guild Finder to find one and begin your quest to conquer Albion! |

Crystal Raiders launches January 8, bringing new life to guild warfare in Albion. In our second Feature Focus, we take a look at the new Crystal Weapons, the changes coming to the Conquerors Challenge, and more.
What are the first three weapons? Crystal Raiders introduces the first three Crystal Weapons, each with its own unique spell:
Conquerors Challenge Changes
With the Crystal Raiders update, the Conquerors Challenge has been updated to directly reward players for both their individual progress and their guilds progress. The former guaranteed Battle Mount rewards have been replaced with new Conquerors Chests, which in addition to potentially still containing Battle Mounts also contain Crystal Weapon Artifacts and other valuable rewards. The value of these chests increases in two separate ways:
Daily Might Bonus and Might Changes
Daily Might Bonus:
Might and Might Level Changes:
The next update is just around the corner, and with updates and Guild Seasons now synced, Season 22/4 begins soon after on January 13. We cant wait to see how these new features play out once Crystal Raiders goes live! Read more here: |

Happy New Year, Adventurers! Start the year off right with the return of the Frost Challenge earn Challenge Points, unlock chests to get valuable loot, and claim your very own Frost Ram. |
With higher frequency than other territory warfare mechanics, Territory Raiding opens new avenues for Albions guilds and encourages action throughout the day:
Further Territory Changes
Changes have been made to territory prime times, to ensure territory-owning guilds are not under pressure to defend their territories around the clock:
Territories now also have Control Costs associated with them:
Further changes also address the relative value of territories:
And the way Stored Energy is paid out has been changed:
All this will encourage guilds to compete over valuable territories deep in the Outlands, whether through outright control or unexpected Territory Raids, and bring ongoing conflict to Albions Guild Seasons. Were excited to see how this plays out with the start of the next season on January 13, along with the other big changes coming with the update. For a full season schedule, click here, and stay tuned for another Feature Focus coming soon! |
And so that everyone can enjoy the festive season, all players will be sent fireworks and a load of snowballs to mark the season. To claim them, simply log into the game during the times listed above - all characters whove completed the tutorial will receive a mail containing these treats. So dive into the dungeons and say hello to your old Uncle Frost - he doesnt visit very often! |

The Steam Awards are back! This year, a new "Labor of Love" category honors games that have been out for a while, but continue to receive strong development and community support. |
|
With Wild Blood having expanded Albions gameplay significantly, its already time to look forward to what the future will bring for the game. In this new Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys shares some of our thoughts and impressions about the update, and what that means for Albion going forward.
New Update Cycle
With this in mind, were looking at ways to get updates out more quickly and reliably:
Updates will therefore vary in size depending on how many features are completed in each cycle, and the next update will never be far off. This way we can focus on the key features of each, ensuring they are delivered to the highest possible standard.
The Next Update
Our first update on the new schedule will release in January:
Additionally, there will be various tweaks and rebalancing, including revisiting Hideouts and Headquarter Hideouts, to increase competition for Power Cores. Well have more information for you as we approach Januarys release date, so stay tuned for more! |
Note: for the first few months after the Wild Blood launch, more tracks will spawn for small groups. These additional tracks will drop Black Market loot instead of rare ingredients and artifacts.
Different Tiers of Tracking Toolkits and Specialization
Unlocking and using better Tracking Toolkits has many advantages. Not only does it allow you to track higher rarity creatures, it also rewards more Fame, speeds up interactions with tracks, and increases the search radius in which you can find new tracks. Heres an overview of the types of creatures that can be found and interacted with, as well as the Fame bonus you receive, depending on the tier of your toolkit.

Tracking Toolkit Creature Unlocked Bonus Fame

T3 Panthers Sylvians Spirit Bears -

T4 Werewolf 5%

T5 Hellfire Imp 10%

T6 Runestone Golem 15%

T7 Dawnbird 20%

T8 - 30%

In addition to better Toolkits, you can also increase your specialization in tracking each type of creature. This will further boost your Tracking Efficiency as well as increasing your chances of encountering your target at each stage rather than another track.
Tracking in a Party
The size of your party matters. Not only does each creature come in two different difficulty levels offering different rewards, theres also a benefit to hunting a rare creature that you may not be able to track down yourself yet.
Additionally, the more party members interact with a track, the faster the interaction will channel. During this process, the interaction speed bonuses of each member are added together. When starting a new hunt, you want the member with the highest specialization to interact with the track, as it will use their specialization levels for the entire hunt. Even if you dont interact with a track, as long as youre carrying a Tracking Toolkit you will earn Tracking Fame and progress your Destiny Board. |

The Wild Blood update launches October 16, and at its heart is a brand-new weapon line: Shapeshifter Weapons. In this Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys and Combat Designer Michael Schwahn take an in-depth look at this significant expansion to Albions you are what you wear system.
When in human form:
These are the different Shapes into which you can transform:
These Shapes offer a wide variety of playstyles:
Awareness of when to transform is crucial to using these weapons. This creates an active and enjoyable playstyle that is quick to pick up but offers a great deal of depth.
How to Get Them
Shapeshifter Weapons:
Thus, Shapeshifter Weapons should remain quite rare and valuable, and bolster the appeal of Tracking. Begin your hunt for a Shapeshifter Weapon when Wild Blood launches on October 16! Which will you pick? |
Wild Blood is nearby, and youll be able to hunt some down for yourself when the update launches. In this Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys looks at Tracking, a new feature where you pursue creatures across the open world.
There are seven types of creature you can Track, each of which exists in two sizes:
If your party is too big or small the track, you wont be able to follow it. The first tracks that players can find are those of Panthers, Sylvians, and Spirit Bears. Rarer creatures require higher-level tracking skills and higher-tier Tracking Kits.
On the Prowl
After a track is successfully read, the hunt begins:
When you encounter your target, a fight ensues. But the creature may flee if:
A target that flees will have to be tracked to its new location, but any damage it has taken remains.
Spoils of the Hunt
A defeated creature can drop various new items which are used for the following:
These are the new Potions:
Rare Animal Remains can be reduced to Arcane Extract, to enchant Potions:
When Wild Blood launches, there will be an increased amount of tracks and creatures to allow players to hone their skills. But to keep the new items rare, the additional creatures will drop Silver and loot instead. After a time, these additional creatures will be removed, and those which remain will drop only the new items. We cant wait to see players take part in this new economic activity, and start using these new items. Youll also be able to use them to craft Shapeshifter Weapons, of course, which will be the subject of our next Dev Talk. See you then! |

Following our recent introduction to the Island and Farming Rework coming with the Wild Blood update, Game Director Robin Henkys takes a closer look at a massive addition to Albions sandbox world: Awakened Weapons.
Once awakened, the weapon is attuned to the player:
Traits and Strain
When your weapon has enough Attunement Points, Traits can be added at the Artifact Foundry:
Each action taken on a weapon increases its Strain. As Strain increases, so does the cost of making further modifications. Therefore, players must consider which Traits to keep and the amount to upgrade them, as the cost in Silver and Attunement Points escalates rapidly.
Benefits and Legacy
Players can customize their .4 weapons this way to add strength and versatility to their builds, or create a remarkably powerful weapon if they invest enough time and Silver. But they can also leave a lasting impact on Albion:
While these weapons cannot be crafted, Focus Points can be used to reduce the attunement costs of adding and upgrading traits. Awakened Weapons are a significant addition to Albions sandbox world, giving players new possibilities both in combat, and in leaving their mark on the game. Stay tuned for more Dev Talks on the Wild Blood update coming soon! |

With the Wild Blood update arriving October 16, its time to take an in-depth look some of its major features. In this Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys and Environment Artist Johannes Geier talk us through the improvements to personal islands and farming that are on the way.
Each islands visuals will be appropriate to its host city:
Farming Bonuses
Along with updated island visuals, new farming bonuses for crops and animals are being introduced:
These different bonuses will encourage trade and allow the planning of a sophisticated growing, transportation, and processing schedule. With these changes on the way, you are now able to move an existing island once until the update launches on October 16. For details on this and which bonuses apply where, see this forum post. Crafting is one of the foremost components of Albion's player-driven economy. While excelling as a crafter requires hard work and planning, when done properly it can be one of the most rewarding activities in the game. This guide will start you on your way to being a skilled crafter with a few essential tips.
You can craft all Artifacts, except for Royal Sigils (exclusive to Arenas and Expeditions) and Fey artifacts (Exclusive to the Mists), at the Artifact Foundry, found in every city. Runes, Souls and Relics can be found in various places such as the open world, dungeons or Hellgates - the higher the zone tier, the higher the level of materials you'll find. You may even get an Artifact or Artifact piece straight away as a random drop!
What to do now?
You may wonder if theres even demand for all the gear youre crafting, and where you should sell it. First of all, there is high demand for all sorts of gear due to so many players engaging in full-loot PvP fights all over Albion, meaning when a player dies in PvP combat, each item he was wearing or carrying has a chance to break. And while you can sell your gear in the thriving Marketplaces of each city or directly to other players, there is also the option to bring your goods to the Black Market in Caerleon. There, a sinister trader buys large quantities of equipment which are distributed to every individual mob or chest in the game. |

The Knightfall patch is just around the corner, and will bring some big new features and changes to Albion, like new Mists objectives, Roads changes, and more. In this Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys looks inside one of the most exciting of these new features, the Mists dungeon known as Knightfall Abbey (subtitles are available for all supported languages):
Gameplay
The dungeon also features Coffers of loot which reveal their location to nearby players, and shortly before the dungeon closes a Treasure Chest reveals itself to tempt those still within. Knightfall Abbey will provide a rewarding new gameplay opportunity to those exploring the Mists, which is rare enough that it cant simply be played on repeat but will still appear regularly enough during an extended Mists session. Knightfall releases on May 8, when you can check out Knightfall Abbey and all of the other new and improved features. Meanwhile, Albions next major content update is in the works, so stay tuned for a new Dev Talk on that soon. |
Season 15 is on the way
As the dust settles on this thrilling season, guilds are already preparing for Season 15 which kicks off on March 5. This brings with it increased Might and Favor, faster Might leveling, a new Crystal League map, and unique season rewards. Following the seismic power shifts that Season 14 saw, this is sure to be another fiercely contested season. Check out the complete schedule here. |
Additionally, the threshold for early Might Levels has been lowered for a wide range of activities available at all times. And as these thresholds now increase faster with higher levels, reaching the highest levels requires significantly more Might for the same Season Point output, ensuring the competition remains intense at the higher levels of guild warfare.
Crystal League Changes: New Map, Big Rewards
5v5 Crystal League matches now use an updated map based on the popular former "Steppe Territory" map. This new map makes it significantly harder for one team to hold three orbs, offering increased comeback potential for more exciting matches. Respawn timers are now more normalized throughout the match, which allows early kills to remain impactful without making late-kill respawn timers too punishing. Crystal League rewards for both 5v5 and 20v20 have been improved significantly, with massively increased Silver as well as big Fame increases at nearly all levels. Together with the new map, we hope this will incentivize more players to try out the Crystal League and experience thrilling PvP matches.
Unique Season Rewards
Players who gain enough Might will receive unique season-specific Avatar Sets, as well as battle mounts and 90-day Fame Buffs. Might can be gathered for a huge range of PvP-adjacent activities in the Conqueror's Challenge, which was introduced in Season 14 as a way for guilds of all sizes as well as players who are not in guilds to earn rewards without requiring passive territory control. And as always, there are additional bracket rewards for guilds who reach at least Iron Rank, and the grand prize of a permanent statue in Conquerors' Hall for the season's number one guild. For the full list of season rewards, check out this forum post.
Watch the Season Kickoff Live
The action starts Saturday, March 5 and will be broadcast live on AlbionTV starting 17:30 UTC, with hosts Shozen, Lewpac and Bogul bringing full coverage of Invasion Day. At 18:00 UTC all territories will be reset for guilds to claim them and launch attacks. Those in the North and South American time zones can also tune in for the second round of territory resets on Sunday, March 6 at 00:30 UTC, when hosts Shozen, Robinhoodrs and Bogul will cover the next round of invasions from 01:00 UTC. In order to better balance the performance of certain Static Dungeon mobs, and allow more counterplay opportunities, some adjustments have been made to their abilities. For example:
In addition, across all factions a number of Static Dungeon mobs have had their avatars updated to better reflect their characteristics visually.
Combat Balance Changes
This patch sees the largest combat balance update since Lands Awakened launched. Firstly, certain combat systems Resilience, AoE Escalation, Crowd Control, and Diminishing Returns have been adjusted, broadly in favour of smaller groups in combat. In light of these adjustments, changes have also been made to some weapons and armors - such as Cursed Staff and Cleric Robe - in order to keep their gameplay fair and competitive. Numerous further changes have also been made, including:

[previewyoutube=sg-6Ho_Wuyk;full][/previewyoutube] These major new features have breathed new life into Albion's Guild Seasons, laying the foundation for thrilling endgame gameplay for years to come.
Year-End Honors
As 2021 drew to a close, it still had time to bring two very welcome surprises, as Albion Online was awarded the Deutscher Entwicklerpreisfor "Best Mobile Game" and the MassivelyOP Year-End Awardfor "Best MMO PvP". Alongside the jury prize from MassivelyOP, Albion Online also won the readers poll in this category. These prizes were a tremendous validation of all the hard work the team put in over the year, acknowledging the highly successful mobile launch in June, and the focus on making Albion's PvP the most exciting, fresh, and competitive in the MMO world. With all the huge developments 2021 saw for the game, to have these recognized is extremely rewarding, and makes us even more excited to bring you what we have in store for 2022.
Looking Forward to 2022
We're already hard at work on the next content update, with some big new features and improvements in the works, and in the coming weeks we'll be bringing you a new Dev Talk. For now, though, we want to extend our thanks to you, the Albion community, for making everything we do possible, and making 2021 the biggest year yet in the world of Albion.
New Guild Invite Spam Protections
To prevent players from being spammed with guild invitations, a limit has been placed on how many invitations can be sent out at a time. In addition, sending too many declined guild invitations in a short space of time now applies a guild-wide cooldown on sending invitations. Along with these changes, there is also clearer feedback on whether a guild invitation has been accepted or rejected.
Combat Balance Changes
With Lands Awakened having introduced a brand-new weapon line in War Gloves, Patch 1 makes some slight adjustments to ensure they are competitive in the combat meta, with a broad range of abilities across the line improved. Maces have also been adjusted so that they dont clearly outperform other, similar weapon types, with the Threatening Smash and Deep Leap abilities reworked somewhat. Further changes:

The Lands Awakened update launched November 24, ushering in a new era of open-world gameplay in Albion Online. Along with sweeping changes to biome graphics and layouts, dungeons, mobs, open-world objectives and Guild Seasons, the update brought some major quality-of-life improvements to a wide variety of ingame activities. In our latest Dev Talk, UI Designer Moritz Bokelmann discusses some of the biggest improvements to UI and usability that arrived with this latest update.
Once the search is completed, the Marketplace shows a summary of available items and alternatives. Details:
Farming is an essential part of Albion's economy, but on a large scale can take a long time and lots of clicks. Alongside small improvements (simplifying animal placement, moving T2 hide animals) the number of clicks farming takes has been greatly reduced:
New in the UI:
Lands Awakened brings updated party chat commands for better feedback and easier party formation:
In your Social settings you can now clearly define who can invite you to their group or request to join yours. Additionally, you can always use the /snooze chat command to temporarily suppress all party invitations. We can't wait to hear your feedback on these changes, and of course we already have more quality-of-life improvements lined up for the next updates, so stay tuned! |

The Lands Awakened update on November 24 brings exciting developments to combat in Albion Online. In this Dev Talk, Combat Designer Michael Schwahn and Game Director Robin Henkys introduce two major new features: the War Gloves weapon lineand Elite Levels.
Heres a look at just some of their abilities:
Elite Levels
Lands Awakened brings significantly increased Fame rewards across the game, which players can use to progress with their weapon specializations. As a further Fame objective for veteran players, the Destiny Board has also been expanded with Elite Levels:
Remember, Lands Awakened launches on November 24, and soon after that well have a final Dev Talk where we show some big UI improvements to Loadouts, farming, and party invites. Thanks for watching! |
Lands Awakened arrives November 24, bringing major open-world features, Guild Season changes, and more. In our newest Dev Talk, Robin Henkys discusses Hideout Power Cores and Headquarters Hideouts, two related features that will shake up guild warfare and open-world PvP.
Additionally, entering owned Hideouts set as "Home" grants temporary Fame buff (based on Hideout power level) in the Outlands
Further Details

Headquarters Hideouts

Maintenance

Conclusion
Earning and maintaining HQ Hideouts is no easy task, but being protected from attack allows guilds to make their own choices and forge their own destiny in Albion. (Note: HQs will be added to the Roads of Avalon in a later update; until then, Power Cores cannot be taken through the Roads.) Subscribe for upcoming videos on War Gloves, Elite Levels, and more! |

To make Guild Seasons more about player activity and less about territory control and passive income, this season introduces the Conquerors' Challenge. This dynamic, season-long system for tracking progress opens Albion's higher-level activities to guild members and non-guild-affiliated players alike, and introduces two new reward systems, Might and Favor (details below). The Conqueror's Challenge offers players the freedom to earn Season Rewards in countless different ways, with a wide range of activities contributing to progress. Ultimately, any player willing to put in the work during a season will have a chance to unlock some of the most valuable and powerful rewards in the game.
Might, Favor, and Might Levels
As part of the revamped Guild Seasons, this season brings two new concepts to the game: Might and Favor, which measure the success of individuals and guilds during the season and unlock fantastic rewards.
Additionally, a new Season Overview UI will show a guilds current rank, how its Season Points were earned, and which members contributed the most Might.
Headquarters Hideouts, Power Cores and Energy Crystals
To further encourage exciting power struggles in the Outlands and keep things competitive for smaller guilds, Headquarters Hideouts have been introduced. Earning enough Season Points in the preceding season allows a guild to designate one of its Outlands Hideouts as an HQ, making it invulnerable. This status must be maintained, however, through capturing new Power Cores as they appear across the landscape. Alongside Energy Crystals, which can be used to boost Territories, this will bring a whole new dynamic and competitive edge to Guild Seasons. For more information on these new features, see this Dev Talk.
Additional Season 14 Changes
The Lands Awakened updatearrives November 24, bringing massive open-world changes, a new weapon line, an updated soundtrack, and more. In today's Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys discusses the huge changes coming to Guild Seasons with this update.
Might
Might is earned by participating in activities with a risk of PvP:
Favor
As players earn Might and Favor for themselves, they contribute to another new feature, Guild Might Levels:
Guild Might Levels in turn benefit guild members:
Territory Energy Levels
Captured Crystals boost the Territory's energy, which:
Territory Rebalancing
To encourage active Outlands play, Territories now generate far fewer Season Points if they are low on energy, but have a much higher maximum potential if they stay at maximum level. Season success is thus less dependent on passive income, instead requiring guilds to remain active around their Territories. Of course, players participating in this are also rewarded with significant Might and Favor themselves.
In Summary
The Conquerors Challenge, Might Levels and Energy Vortices allow players to push their guild towards victory with smaller-scale activities, while earning rewards for themselves and enjoying new open-world PvP objectives. Stay tuned for the next Dev Talks, where we'll discuss Headquarters Hideouts, Power Cores, War Gloves and more! |

With the Lands Awakened update coming in November, players can look forward to a revamped soundtrack as they explore Albion. Senior Audio Designer Marie Havemann gives a glimpse behind the scenes of its production in our latest Dev Talk, introducing new music for combat, cities, Hideouts and more.
Combat

City Themes
In line with the stronger sense of regional identity within Albion that the Lands Awakened update brings, each city will have its own theme that reflects the character of the different factions:
The starter towns of Albion also have a new theme to convey their liveliness and the sense of adventure at the beginning of a journey.
Hideout Themes
For the first time, Hideouts have their own musical identity, befitting their status as a players home within the black zones.
Additional Soundtrack Changes
In our last Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys introduced the visual and level design improvements coming with the Lands Awakened update in November. In this newest video, he introduces open-world gameplay changes including mobs that level up over time, updated Static Dungeons, and fully reworked treasure sites.
Open-World Mob Improvements

Static Dungeon Updates
Mob upgrading system also applies to Static Open-World Dungeons:
The reworked open-world dungeons offer plenty of opportunities for different player types: PvE players can explore them outside event times, while PvP players can rush in during events.
Reworked Treasure Sites
Current system:
Resource Treasures
Treasure system now spawns resources as well:
More to Come
As you can see, there are tons of new features and improvements coming to the open world with the next update, and many other features as well. Soon we'll discuss new music, major Guild Season changes, HQ Hideouts and more, so stay tuned! |

The next major content update for Albion Online, Lands Awakened, will bring major changes, improvements, and new features to open-world gameplay in Albion. In this video, Game Director Robin Henkys introduces the upcoming visual and structural redesigns planned for Albion's five biomes and discusses how they will affect the overall gameplay experience.
Wide-Ranging Biome Improvements
The Lands Awakened update will bring huge visual improvements to Albion's biomes. All 15 sub-biome graphics sets (3 for each of the 5 biomes) will be reworked with the following goals:
Each of the five biomes has a basic theme which increases in intensity and menace in higher-tier zones: Forest
Mountain
Updating Layouts
The maps introduced during the beta phase have worked fine, but often felt too cluttered or generic. To address this, we've challenged ourselves to completely rework all the open-world layouts of Albion Online, with the following two goals:
More specifically, these goals will be implemented in the following ways:
What about Hideouts?
When the Lands Awakened update launches, Hideouts will be automatically placed as close as possible to their original location. Guilds will have the opportunity to move each Hideout once within the same zone for a short time after the update launch. Tune in next time to find out about more exciting changes coming to Albion Online with the next update, including new music, major improvements to open-world rewards, and new features for open-world PvE and PvP. With the Coalitions war against the Empire already well underway when Season 13 began, some wondered if declarations of Blue Armys victory were premature. Others, however, believed that the return of several veteran players all but ensured their triumph. And indeed, by the time the season ended Blue Army had amassed more points than any guild had previously managed, surpassing one million season points while also earning second place for their secondary guild Blue Army Freemen. At the end of the season the Coalition was defeated, with their forces disbanded, destroyed, or simply moved along. In the final days only Elevate and Guildzinha remained standing. While the rest of the Coalition folded, Yur Mum stayed to fight.
Once again, massive congratulations to Naptime and to everyone who took part in our showcase 5v5 event. These weapons excel at engaging an enemy and then keeping them engaged, dealing damage at the same time.
War Glove Artifacts

HQ Hideouts
Headquarters Hideouts, AKA HQ Hideouts, are still early in development, but were very excited about the changes they will bring. We believe Albion to be best and most exciting when many small groups are competing for power in the Outlands, but the current Hideout system is controlled by large powerful groups, forcing players to consolidate or pay tribute. Features of HQ Hideouts:
Once created, the Headquarters status will need to be maintained. The upcoming open-world Vortex Power System has been extended to include Hideout Power Cores, which are required to make sure an HQ Hideout stays invulnerable. The required level of power depends on the quality of the region, with Hideouts deeper in the Outlands requiring significantly more power. Attackers can take advantage of this by preventing Power Cores from reaching the HQ, causing it to lose invulnerability eventually. Other features of HQ Hideouts and general Hideout changes:
HQ Hideouts require guilds to collect enough Season Points by the end of a Guild Season. Thus, the current season will be followed by a shortened season before the launch of the next update:
This gives us sufficient time to finish these new features while giving guilds the opportunity to earn their right to an HQ Hideout. Stay tuned for more Dev Talks coming soon thanks for watching! |

The trend continued throughout 2020 and into 2021, with a new peak of 140,000 playersin March, and has continued since then, with player numbers exploding in recent months to nearly double the previous record (read on for more about that!).
Call to Arms
On March 17, 2021, the Call to Armsupdate went live, bringing a complete ground-up rework of Faction Warfare. Caerleon joined the fight as a sixth playable Faction with its own unique rules and playstyle, and valuable rewards including Elite Faction Mounts became available to those who pledged their loyalty to a single city. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54OBbmUfBP4 Call to Arms also brought major changes to Hellgates, with 10 all-new maps featuring diverse enemies and layouts, an updated open-world spawn system, and all new 10v10 Hellgates for spontaneous midsize PvP. The update was rounded out with major quality-of-life improvements, particularly Loadouts, which allowed players to quickly regear based on easily adjustable presets.
A Promise Fulfilled: Albion Goes Mobile
On June 9, 2021, Albion Online reached the final major milestone in its quest to become a truly cross-platform Sandbox MMORPG: the official mobile launch. As a core goal since the earliest days of development nearly a decade ago, the worldwide launch on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store was the next massive step in opening up the world of Albion to countless new players, as well as allowing longtime players to play Albion Online whenever and wherever they wanted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MEvv81i3ek The worldwide launch, coupled with an exclusive cross-play reward for playing on both desktop and mobile, brought unprecedented player numbers to the game. In the week following the launch, Albion shattered its all-time record with an incredible 270,000 daily active players, nearly doubling the previous record.
Looking to the Future
With the mobile launch complete, it was time to look to the future. In late June, Game Director Robin Henkys released a Dev Talk summing up the launch and discussing the big changes and improvements coming to the game with the next major update (watch until the end for a quick teaser of further changes as well): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcJcUMVVZyw The energy and dedication of the Albion community continues to be an inspiration to us as we work toward making the world of Albion better and better. So as we celebrate another incredible year of Albion Online, we want to give our most heartfelt thanks to you, the Albion Online community, for your support. We can't wait to see how the game and its community reach new levels over the coming year (and beyond), and we hope you're as excited as we are for Albion's future. |

Michael Schwahn, Albion's Combat Designer, sums up the balance changes in this patch: "This patch aims to bring a wider variety of healing staffs into the meta while reducing the dominance of certain items in specific content, like Dagger Pairs in 2v2 Hellgates and Quarterstaffs in Corrupted Dungeons. Sustain damage provided by the axe line is also reduced, to bring them more in line with other melee weapons. This patch also offers reworks of abilities that have been out of the spotlight recently." Here's a partial list of what's new:
Finally, for this patch, we're also trying something new: offering detailed explanations of combat balance changes under each weapon and armor type, to show the reasons and goals behind them. As always, you can check out the full list of changes, including these detailed balance change descriptions, in the official patchnotes. |

This weapon skin remains unlockable for Gold via the Appearance menu, but for the two-week duration of the event it can also be purchased with eggs. And for those with Fool's Golden Eggs left over from past events, you're in luck: while the event is running, the Vanity Merchant will also accept them as currency!
How They Work
Previously, entering a Hellgate required killing a demon at a preset, static location. With the new system, Hellgates are accessed via Hellgate Maps, which can be crafted at the Artifact Foundry, looted from mobs, or bought. Like Dungeon Maps, they only work in zones appropriate to the map type; the Hellgate then spawns several zones away to maintain the danger of reaching the entrance. Entering a Hellgate requires the following:
New Layouts and Monsters
Once inside, you'll encounter one of ten completely new Hellgate layouts at random. These add a variety of different features: some have chokes, others have varying altitudes, and yet others are vast and open. Matchmaking is based on the average Hellgate Infamy of your party (see below). You have a chance of joining another party's Hellgate instantly; if no suitable opponent is found, you will enter your own Hellgate. The matchmaking criteria grow wider with time, until eventually another team enters your Hellgate or you enter theirs. To complete a Hellgate, you can kill mobs until an Infamy threshold is reached. Depending on which Hellgate layout you are in, you will find different mobs and minibosses, and occasionally a boss with huge rewards. If another party enters the Hellgate, all mobs (other than those guarding chests or shrines) will disappear.
Lava
Once two teams are in the same map, a new rising lava mechanic will occur:
Completing a Hellgate
After killing enough demons or defeating an opposing party, your Hellgate will be complete and a marker will appear on your minimap. If you kill an enemy party, you will be rewarded with an additional chest. Here you will find an exit portal and another entry gate. The portal will bring you back to the surface, while the gate lets you chain into a new Hellgate if you meet the same IP and group size requirements as before.
Infamy and IP Caps
Infamy works similarly to Corrupted Dungeons but is independent, with separate Infamy rankings for 2v2, 5v5, and 10v10 Hellgates:
(Note: with IP caps and requirements, we tried to strike a balance between keeping Hellgates competitive and making them more inclusive; we will keep a close eye on player feedback and adjust these numbers if needed.) That's all for today - we hope you're as excited about the new Hellgates as we are, and that you are looking forward to testing yourself against your fellow adventurers when the Call to Arms update goes live on March 17. Thanks for watching! |

For full details of these changes, see this forum post.
Watch the Season Kickoff Live
The action kicks off on AlbionTVthis Saturday, March 13 at 17:30 UTC, when hosts Shozenwon, Lewpac and Bogul bring you full coverage of Invasion Day. At 18:00 UTC, guilds can claim territories and launch attacks. Those in the North and South American time zones can also tune in for the second round of territory resets on Sunday, March 14 at 00:30 UTC with hosts Shozenwon, Robinhoodrs and Bogul covering the next round of claimable territories starting at 01:00 UTC. All open-world fights are broadcast live with a 15-minute delay. For the complete Season 12 schedule, check out this forum post. |
There are set rewards for each rank, as well as special rewards for the top 5 guilds of the season. (You can check out the specific rewards here). Note: In order to receive the rewards a guild has earned in a season, you must be a member of the guild for 75% of the season and also have Premium active when the season ends.
Season Structure
Seasons consist of three sections, starting with and separated by Invasion Days. On Invasion Days, all Outlands territories lose their owners and are available to claim at one of two times based on their primetimes:
There are two further Invasion Days each season, and the final portion of the season rewards double points for all open world activities (territories, castles, etc).
Earning Points For Your Guild
Solo Players Even alone, you can help your guild progress in the rankings. As you earn keys towards your Adventurers Challenge, these will also credit your Guild Challenge (excluding the 50,000 point daily bonus). Guild Challenges have 100 increasingly difficult levels with each one awarding Season Points. Small Groups
Large Groups
Territories and Season Points
Outlands territories have a number of mechanics to generate season points for both the guild holding them and hostile forces:
Crystal League Matches and Season Points
Guilds can earn Season Points via 5v5 or 20v20 Crystal League Battles. The higher the match level, the more points it gives. The total available points are split between the winners and losers based on final score, with the winning team receiving all points if they win by a large enough margin. The following points are available per player, per match for Crystal League matches: 5v5 Matches:
20v20 Matches:
Because the points are on a per-player basis, a team does not need to consist of one guild's members. Mixed teams can score points for their individual guilds, but uniting under one banner can generate a lot of points for that guild. To prevent guilds from simply amassing Crystal League teams and ignoring open-world content, there is a maximum limit to the Crystal League points a guild can earn in a day (for both 5v5 and 20v20).
Alliances and Season Points
Being allied with other guilds can bring additional strength and support but comes with some downsides.
Hopefully this guide has given you a solid overview of the mechanics of guild seasons, and some ideas as to how you can score points for your guild. Thanks for watching! |
Creating Loadouts
The Loadout window also provides a preview of the stats and estimated market cost in the small flyout on the right side of the UI.
Setting Rules and Equipping
Once you are happy with the Loadout, you can set rules for how flexible the system can be when choosing which items to equip. You have three options:
Loadouts can be shared via chat or ingame mail:
Guild Loadouts
Guilds also have access to dedicated Guild Loadouts, which are similar to personal Loadouts with a few differences:
Case 1: High-level PvP (ZvZs, Crystal League, etc.) You can create a Loadout with the absolute best items in the game via filtering the item list. Simply set everything to the highest available tier, enchantment level and quality, and potentially add Siphoned Energy for overcharging. You can then set all rules to Same or lower, effectively creating a master-class set and telling the system to choose the closest possible items. Case 2: Lower-level PvP/PvE (Arena, Expeditions, etc.) You could build these sets to match the required item power and set all rules to Same or higher, which would do the exact opposite of Case 1 above: guarantee that you equip the most basic set of items that still meets the minimum requirements. Case 3: Hybrid / item-centered Perhaps you want a cheap tier 4 set, but with a tier 6 weapon to access all available spells. This is possible by simply experimenting and finding the correct Loadout setup for your needs. Case 4: Non-combat activities (crafting, farming, etc.) A perfect example of this is a crafter setup that only contains a mount, bag, and lots of salads. Then just all the materials you need for your daily crafting activities into the Loadout inventory. These are just a few examples of things you can do with Loadouts, and we are very curious to see what other ideas you come up with.
Additional Features:Coming Soon
We are working hard to add Loadouts to the Marketplace, so you can directly purchase full sets, and hope to add this feature soon after the launch of Call to Arms. We are also looking into adapting the Character Builder on the Albion website to make global sharing of Loadouts much easier. And of course we are very interested in the ideas that you, the players, have for this feature, so feel free to reach out and share your thoughts. Thanks for watching! |
World Boss and Static Dungeon Changes
The PvE Fame buff in these locations now comes primarily from Elite mobs instead of the bosses themselves, and stacks incrementally with each mob killed. By repeatedly defeating mobs in the area, players in a party can stack the buff up to +50% bonus Fame while remaining in the zone.
Other Changes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBLdULJ-elA Prefer a written summary? Then read on...
Caerleon Joins the Fight
Since the fall of the Caerleon portal and the citys resulting decline, Caerleon has become a nest of bandits, smugglers, rogues and mercenaries. Now the Council of Caerleon has decided to join the war between the cities and profit from the situation. To represent this development, weve reworked the layout and massively improved the graphics of the city. We've added the Stabbed Mug Tavern, where Mercenary Captain Henry Cutter recruits unscrupulous souls to fight the other cities.
A Different Kind of Faction
The Caerleon Faction offers a different style of Faction gameplay:
With this playstyle, Caerleon offers unique gameplay for veteran players looking for dynamic full-loot PvP with plenty of enemies.
What makes Caerleon worthwhile?
In addition to the appeal of living free under your own banner, Caerleon offers unique Faction rewards of its own:
New Daily Event: Bandit Assault
Additionally, the Caerleon Faction NPCs are responsible for the recurring Bandit Assault event in Albion's red zones:
This concludes our look at the all-new Faction Warfare system coming with the Call to Arms update. Will you join the Caerleon Faction and lead a life of villainy? Or will you proudly fly the banner of another city? We cant wait to see which Faction will produce the mightiest heroes, and we're really looking forward to joining the battle ourselves. Call to Arms will be released in mid-March until then, stay tuned for more Dev Talks on new features! |
NOTE: These abilities are still in testing at the time of this recording and their functionality may change.
Maximizing Faction Points
In addition to earning points by fighting for your Faction, you can also see which Factions offer the most points. Factions that aren't doing as well offer much higher rates of Faction Point gains, and will even allow you to retain part of your rank if you enlist with them. Successful Factions, however, have less reason to pay high rates of points and wont be so welcoming to new recruits, so youll have to give up your rank to join them. These mechanisms ensure Faction Warfare stays balanced and players have strong incentives to join cities in need, while leaving the choice of Faction ultimately up to you. We covered a lot in this talk, but theres still more to come. In the next video, well unmask the new Faction, talk about their unique gameplay and rewards, and discuss the recurring red zone event. Thanks for watching! |
NOTE: While the costume and mount skin items will immediately unlock for all other characters on your account via the Appearance menu, the avatar and avatar ring will need to be claimed via the shop for each character. Pick up this most barbaricof bundles today and send your foes scattering in fear! |
So how will these goals be met? 1. Accessible and inclusive:
2. Faction loyalty:
3. Large-scale battles:
4. Faction rewards:
Notes on red zone play:
The Faction Warfare rework is so large weve split it into multiple videos join us next time where well discuss Faction Rewards, ranks, balancing, and the all new Faction Seasons. Thanks for watching! |
As always, you can read the full list of changes in the official patchnotes. |

Alongside these changes, were expanding the Royal Continent and adding a recurring Faction Warfare event in the center of the continent to encourage high-stakes conflict. In our next Dev Talks, well go in-depth with this system, and explore the opportunities it offers veteran players and beginners alike.
Hellgates Re-Envisioned
The second major gameplay feature in Call to Arms is a massive improvement of Hellgates, including:
This overhaul of Hellgates aims to address gameplay concerns brought to us by longtime players, as well as open one of Albions most exciting PvP features to more players. We'll have a full Dev Talk on the new Hellgates soon.
Additional Features
Call to Arms will also include a moving-vegetation graphics upgrade to bring plants to life, plus two major convenience improvements: improved Ability Tooltips and Loadouts. The new Tooltips make understanding and comparing different spells and abilities much easier, as all spells will have colored tags and reworked descriptions to improve readability. Loadouts will let players save equipment sets to quick-equip from bank chests and battle vaults. Loadouts can be shared with other players via chat or ingame mail, and made available to guilds to help recruit new players into specific roles. The feature can also be used to strategize about builds via a preview of the stats and estimated cost of a Loadout. Were also working on quick-buy of saved Loadouts, which we hope to release in a patch shortly after the update. We'll explore all these features in-depth in more Dev Talks over the coming weeks, so stay tuned! |

By Spring 2020, much of the world was in partial or total quarantine. While these lockdowns would bring increased player numbersto the game, they also created tremendous challenges for the development process as the team adjusted to working from home. The Staff of Hermes fundraiser launched in early April. This unique charity bundle included a limited-time vanity staff and matching avatar ring, with 100% of the proceeds going to the COVID Solidarity Fund. The community came through in force, raising an incredible 42,644.94 for those in need and looking greatin the process.
Summer 2020: Anniversaries, Updates, and a New Tournament
On July 17, Albion celebrated its third anniversary. (Can you believe it's been three years already? The time just flies...) You celebrated this anniversary alongside us with a week-long Fame Boost and the ultimate throwback: the return of a classic Keeper dungeon from Albion's beta, Defenders of the Past. In August, the Rise of Avalonupdate, the second massive update of 2020, went live. It brought with it a gigantic set of new features like the vast Roads of Avalon, Corrupted Dungeons for challenging PvE and intense single-player PvP, and a new line of Avalonian Weapons alongside improvements to UI, crafting, and cooking. In addition to bringing new depth and complexity to the world of Albion, the update introduced Chinese and Korean language support, further expanding Albion's worldwide community. The following week, Albion saw its first-ever Crystal League tournament, soon to be known as the Crystal League Championship. Over two action-packed days, the greatest 5v5 teams in the game competed for incredible prizes including the ultra-rare Sabertooth Rex Swiftclaw skin, with a final showdown that came down to the last seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ81SchJaaU
Fall 2020: Brimstone & Mist, Mobile Improvements, and an Ever-Growing Population
In October, the Brimstone & Mist Midseason Updatewent live, bringing new enemies and traps in Corrupted Dungeons, increased fishing opportunities and new fish in the Roads of Avalon, updates to Disarray and the Smart Cluster Queue, crafting and butchery improvements, and much more. This update also brought delta patching to Android, allowing players to update the game without a full download - a crucial step toward the full launch of the mobile version, which was further advanced by November's Play Store beta. Meanwhile, the ingame population continued to grow and grow, reaching an unprecedented 125,000 daily average users. This increase occurred in spite of the overall easing of worldwide lockdowns, and was due in large part to the large number of players who joined the game with the Rise of Avalon update.
Looking Ahead to 2021
2021 will bring massive updates to Albion, starting with the next major content update. Faction Warfare will be completely reworked, offering new activities, rewards, and fair and challenging large-scale battles for beginner and veteran players alike. Hellgates will also be completely re-envisioned, with varied layouts, challenging PvE, rebalanced PvP, and a new 10-versus-10 mode, while Loadouts will allow players to save their favorite gear combinations for re-gearing and Marketplace purchases. In addition, 2021 will also bring the long-awaited official launch of the mobile version for the iOS/Google Play stores. This launch is the culmination of years of iteration and optimization for handheld devices, from combat to crafting to menu displays, and will fulfill our goal of making Albion Online the first truly cross-platform Sandbox MMORPG. If you missed it, you can check out our final Dev Talk of 2020 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxosGPJl3f4 We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Albion Online community for making what we do possible, particularly during such a challenging and difficult year. We're very excited for what 2021 will bring to the world of Albion Happy New Year, and we'll see you ingame! - Your Albion Online Team |
In total we released 29 updates and patches with the majority happening out of our homes. Albion now consistently has over 500,000 active players every month, and player numbers are still growing.
Looking Forward to 2021
Major changes coming in the next year include:
Improvements to the open world and world design of Albion:
Quality-of-Life Improvements:
Combat improvements:
Mobile version:
Additional goals:
Game systems:
Goals for PvE, guild leaders, and data enthusiasts:
For guilds in general, we want to expand on Hideouts with additional open-world buildings guilds could use to protect territories, collect resources or provide combat support in the open world. And for beginning players, we want to introduce a mentoring program called the Albion Academy.
We Need You!
As usual at the end of the year, were looking for your opinions about Albion Online. What are we doing well? What do we need to improve? And what features would you like to see? You can tell us in our end-of-year survey which well be sending to active players who have opted-in to receive the newsletter in the coming weeks, or fill out our Roadmap Survey here. Your feedback will help us decide which features to prioritize as we continue our journey to make Albion Online the best Sandbox MMORPG in the world. This option offers the best value for those who want all Mage Adventurer items.
New Swiftclaw Skin: The Miststalker
A brand-new Swiftclaw mount skin, the Miststalker, is now available in the ingame store. Inspired by the ancient beasts found in the Roads of Avalon, the Miststalker turns your Swiftclaw mount into a mystical, mist-hued creature with glowing blue eyes. To make sure the Crystal League doesn't dominate the entire season at the expense of other activities, we're rebalancing its Season Point rewards and introducing a daily limit for Season Points gained via Crystal League. The limits are separate for 5v5 and 20v20 matches, and vary based on the amount of points available on a given day. This keeps high-level matches rewarding while ensuring seasons cant be won solely via elite Crystal League squads.
World Boss Raid Zones
To add high-value open world objectives, we have overhauled World Boss Raid Zones:
With Season 11, Castle and Castle Outpost timers will be the same for all clusters in the game. This means treasure spawning and scoring now occur independently of the cluster prime time.
We've also increased distances between Castles by removing tunnels and cluster connections to ensure they are always at least four zones apart. These changes will put pressure on bigger power blocks to split their forces if they want to contest more than one objective. This will hopefully lead to fewer overcrowded cluster battles.
Skip Overcrowded Clusters
The Cluster Queue was originally designed as a tool to handle edge cases with too many players, but queued battles have become more and more frequent and many battles now revolve around this system. This is especially frustrating for players who might not get a chance to participate in the fight at all. To improve this, players can now skip overcrowded clusters. You can now select any connected entrance to jump to, and find new battles instead of waiting outside as a potential backup. This essentially allows two battles at once: one in the overcrowded cluster, and another between queued players. The queue entrance range will also increase, letting players travel further without leaving the queue. And if two clusters in a row are overcrowded, you can skip through both.
Combat Balancing
Finally, for Season 11 we will also roll out a combat balance update. This includes the new Axe ability Rending Rage, a combo where you swing your blade and then leap forward and root the enemy. This gives Axes a Q-slot option for mobility and crowd control. This patch also contains buffs for Axes, Spears and Arcane Staffs along with various adjustments to other abilities. There are quite a lot of changes in Season 11, and we are excited to see how players interact with them. Hopefully we'll see some fierce competition for the top spots this season. Thanks for watching! |

Of course, the Midseason Update and the mobile version arent all weve been working on. With Rise of Avalon we concluded much of the work we set out to do in the Queen Update: we added interconnectivity to the world, added a space for mid-level guilds to play and live in, and we added an all-new solo activity with its own competitive metagame. At this time, work has already begun on our next update, in which we finally want to fulfill our vision for a new and massively improved Faction Warfare system. On top of that, we've got some exciting changes for Hellgates planned as well. We'll be releasing more Dev Talks on these subjects after the release of Brimstone and Mist on October 21. That's all for today - thanks for watching! |
