This update fixes a few minor issues. In particular, it was possible to screw up the first tutorial by not selecting Quantification at the correct time. While this is still possible, you'll pretty much have to TRY to do it :P

This update fixes a few minor bugs involving lasers and brain hacks, and clarifies in the UI that a Vice Principal cannot hack a child that doesn't have a class to go to.

We fixed the UI! It looks much better on low-res computers now. We also finally (hopefully) got the game to run on a Mac, and do so without stretching.

Fixes a ton of keyboard command issues. In particular, the game would not recognize the "secondary" commands listed in the options panel, and would never save any changes made by the user.

Fixes various tutorial bugs that people have been reporting. The tutorials now force the game to pause until you follow the instruction (meaning that it is much less likely for you to accidentally skip a section of the tutorial).

BUG FIXES
We found a major bug! We just fixed it. In the previous update, we introduced a new rule in which children that are missing subjects in their schedule once classes start cost -$100 at the end of the day. (Translated: you get penalized if you don't have enough teachers at the start of classes.) HOWEVER, there was a bug that applied this penalty after firing teachers at the end of the day. This has been corrected. You will never be penalized for firing teachers so that you do not have to pay them. There's a few other bugs, which can be found in CHANGELOG.txt

Windows Download Mac Download The Laser Museum is an actual development tool that we use at Subaltern Games to design Lasers. It is also the best misunderstanding ever. Every laser in the game has at least three components: an origin effect, a beam, and an end effect (some lasers have more than one of these). Danger, our Special Effectspert, made a bunch of variants of each option. Seth, our Captain of Industry, requested a “museum” that would allow him to see all of the options at once. That way, he could say something like: “I want a laser with Origin 5, Beam 2, and Aura 12″ and Danger could create the laser quickly. Seth sincerely wanted this “museum” to be a reference sheet, perhaps a pdf (we know that’s what he wanted because he is writing this post). Danger instead created a Laser Museum, which is a game-like creation where you can walk around and look at laser effects. Subaltern Games now uses the laser museum whenever it is time to create a new effect. Have fun walking around and seeing how our creative process works!
Part 2 of x of a series in which YOU will learn how to be a successful principal. Use lasers to manipulate a child's feelings, but be careful to not give a child too much individual attention, or else your teacher will be too exhausted to instruct the rest of the class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF-DHRDkVBw&ab_channel=SethAlter Here is Episode 1 is case you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2pwafGjPy0&ab_channel=SethAlter
