Hey folks!
The year is ending, and I wanted to do a last update and wish everyone a happy upcoming year.
First, work on the new website has been completed, and it now features a landing page for marketing, an investor/crowdfunding portal, and a roadmap section where you can follow the game and check milestones that occurred. I took feedback that people left, took those into account, and created pretty robust transparent terms and framework for the portal, as well as how I plan to perform the Admin duties of PPO.
https://pixelpiracy.net
Next, there will be a PPO Stream #2 this Friday, which is pretty soon, so if you want to see the latest developments, join the live stream. I also got a new mic!. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WARZ2d6WNTw&ab_channel=Vitali
For those who can't join but want to know what's up, the TDLR is the significant achievement for this dev cycle is: the UI Form System and Paperdoll system that allows 14 different equips, different weapon types, such as melee, knuckles, and 2H Weapons.
"Do note ART is not final, and everything is WIP; in 2023+, the name of the game is that you must put a Steam store page for game projects as soon as possible if you want to have any chance of success and build community, MMO's are tech-heavy games so demonstration of working tech is more important than good art/concept art."
Next, I plan to begin work on the ship system; it's the most piratey thing possible and going to take some time it's a pretty big system, and when it comes to PPO, it has to surpass PP in almost everything.
On the wishlist front, the game has amassed almost 2k wishlists and earns around 15-20 wishlists a day without really doing anything; this is more than Pixel Piracy did on a regular day and is a clear indication that the general Steam audience more or less is interested in something like Pixel Piracy Online.
Here is the PPO Steam Page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2446520/Pixel_Piracy_Online/
I hope you found this post insightful, and I hope to see some of you on the stream and again next year with the PPO Development Update #2.
Have a good one #piracyfam!
---------------------------------
PPO Website: https://pixelpiracy.net
Hey!
Join the PPO Stream today, hear me talk about my vision for the game, and watch a tech demo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCMq4MFZjwc
The stream will begin at 18:00 (Helsinki TIme)
https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/finland/helsinki
A public test is also happening simultaneously and will continue for a few hours after the stream; you can find more information on that in the previous news post.
So, If Pirate MMO without micro-transactions and in the spirit of something like One Piece, Pirates of Carribean, and Ragnarok Online sounds like your thing, consider wishlisting PPO. I am really tired of MMO games that are pay-to-win or devalue the effort that players put into the game by introducing paid catch-up mechanics.
Also, I have heard the feedback from the players, especially those who don't like MMO games and want to play in more closed communities or alone; I am happy to say that I am taking this into account, and there will be an option for private servers, kind of like Minecraft Realms is doing.
So, wishlist now and tune in for today's stream.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2446520/Pixel_Piracy_Online/
Also, the new website is in the works. It will have authority, terms, and other stuff. Going to be completed in about 1-3 weeks time, maybe sooner.
This is all about the journey.
Hey!
I have a status update for everyone.
First, if you haven't already read the previous update, you can read it here.
https://steamcommunity.com/games/264140/announcements/detail/3776892014241245530
It will give you a good idea of what I was trying to do this year with Pixel Piracy.
As for the status update, I want to inform the community that I plan to start production on Pixel Piracy Online next year, and to make it happen, I am launching a crowdfunding campaign for Pixel Piracy fans.
(Assets not final, focus on tech first)
The vision is to create a sandbox pirate RPG/MMO without microtransactions, focusing on adventures, ship/town building, friends, and, most importantly, fun while respecting the things that make pirate games fun. Especially if you enjoyed Pixel Piracy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and One Piece, you will find yourself right at home.
Imagine sending one of your NPC crewmembers to sell salt to the nearby town for money while you and your friends continue building your ship and preparing for your next adventure.
Imagine spending an evening in one of many towns just socializing, farming, playing instruments, or flexing how you got some epic loot from your adventures. There won't be any microtransactions.
Imagine joining Marines on the PvP Server and catching and shackling one of the PK players and throwing him in jail for the crimes he committed.
There are many possibilities and potential there, and this week, you will have the opportunity to try the tech demo yourself and socialize with other people who are testing. Game assets are not final, but the tech behind the game has been in the making for over a year. Each server will hold potentially 500-1000 players, and both casuals and hardcore will find the game enjoyable.
So, plan of action.
1) Wishlist Pixel Piracy Online.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2446520/Pixel_Piracy_Online/
2) Join Crowdfunding.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfpZ0dDH0tb4R5kxVNZZ6Gcbc1vexGl2LLpYXEDVpMCSJFApw/viewform
3) Risks.
Be aware that risks are involved; this is not a Kickstarter campaign but rather an investment type of pledge; when you pledge, you gain a percentage of revenue share from future game sales of PPO. The idea is to give you a stake and allow you to share success if the game becomes successful. Also, making MMO is hard so be aware. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Timeline:
6.12 - 31.12 Crowdfunding will be running through the remainder of December, around 25 crowdfunding rounds. 8.12 Demo Test 1 15.12 Demo Test 2 29.12 Demo Test 3 During Demo Test you will have the opportunity to test fully functional MMO Server, you will have opportunity to move, talk to others, and battle mobs and get XP, and also see terrain tech in action.
Hey! I want to inform the community that I completed the development objective in Spring 2023 and fixed Pixel Piracy as best I could. Afterward, I decided to work on the game further until Winter. But, after summer, I found out I had burned myself out mentally after intense patching frequency and could no longer get myself to work further on the game and continue modernizing the game. I think this unhealthy practice is going to get me one day. So, now the year is closing in, and there has not been an update for some time; thus, I want to inform the Steam community that I am still around, but I don't know when I will work again on Pixel Piracy. I want to entertain the idea that I might do a few more updates one day. The game is in a good state now; it's the best version of Pixel Piracy, so If you want to play some Pixel Piracy, feel free to do so. Folks, goodbye for now.
Hey Piracyfam! Got a small balance tweak patch with PT-BR Translation!
- Treasure Chests now drop 20-40 more gold.
- Plankton, Hoboken, Bandit Pirate base HP reduced by 2 Points.
- Portuguese - Brazil Translation by Lucas V Leite, Afonso B Pires, Joo Gabriel O.
Hey Guys! I have some news for everyone.
First, to recap what has happened so far.
Starting this year, I have begun working on Pixel Piracy at around 20-30% workload capacity by improving Pixel Piracy and adding some new content; this commitment was until 1.6.2023. Then last week, I said that I would be working on Pixel Piracy at around the same capacity until 31.12.2023, and this is what I am doing now, and my goal is to release a significant feature soon, which will transition Pixel Piracy to the 1.3.0 Version; this feature will drop after the Summer holidays (month or two). People wanted something big now VS Friday Updates so that I will cater to that request for 1.3.0. The reason i set dates in the first place is not to set false expectations; I created a roadmap rev1 previously, but it did not work because of the human limits of me just beginning one dev. I'm sure that in 2024 if the community wants me to work on the PP, i will find time. PP as a game can be expanded infinitely, so in a sense; it doesn't matter how long i will work on the game; it will never be ready. It's a good thing because I can theoretically work on this as long as there are players. I also did one supporter DLC called Shrimp Legacy and Coffee thing for people who wanted to support me; I thought it was an excellent middle ground, but beyond that, I don't see doing Pixel Piracy DLCs; it's more valuable to work on the base game and just bring value there for you the player. Friday Updates works just fine for me.
Current Situation...
I have determined that the best way for Pixel Piracy and me as a dev to succeed is to focus on my two games (PP & IAH) marketing aspect. I haven't talked with the community about my main project IAH, but today i am changing that. My main project is IAH: INTERNET WAR, which is Roguelite RTS set in the Internet Setting that focuses on tactical battles, trying to add more life to the RTS genre; I do that game at around 70-80% capacity, and I intend to use the functionality of that game to help Pixel Piracy find more players. IAH: INTERNET WAR will appear on a few Festivals this year on Steam, and people will try IAH Demo. The catch is when someone plays IAH Full Version or Demo; they will be exposed to Pixel Piracy.
My call to action to the community is that if you want to help Pixel Piracy and support me, I humbly ask you to just wishlist IAH: INTERNET WAR; it's that simple; you click the wishlist button. Wishlists will elevate IAH higher, and more people will try it, and in turn, more people will see Pixel Piracy. And if you like the concept, follow the game on Steam so you don't miss news developments on that project. https://store.steampowered.com/app/304770/IAH_INTERNET_WAR/ Those that own Pixel Piracy and want to try IAH Demo later this year will also have exclusive access to the Pixel Piracy Cannon Bot.
Thanks for considering my request, and stay tuned for the 1.3.0 version.
Don't want to read?
TDLR: Work on Pixel Piracy continues until 31.12.2023, and there will be a big 1.3.0 update after Summer Holidays; There is also a call to action to Wishlist IAH as it will help Pixel Piracy.
Hey! Got a new update available for you all. This one is small; it's Summer, after all. I don't know how big updates I will be doing this Summer, but they will be coming, i am not stressing about it, and you should not either; it's not a big deal for me.

- *Localization: Spanish, Italian, French, and Finnish now have their translation files checked against English Translation for the missing lines.
Yo. Doing some work on localization and crabs. Crab life is hard, and what I am doing is not newsworthy as it's more of clearing up technical debt.
- Game now supports external language files.
- All text is now tied to localization files. If you want to localize Pixel Piracy to your language, you can do it now. I have some news for everyone; for the next 1-2 Months, i will focus primarily on QOL Updates, which means about 8 QoL Updates. I want to note that this is a systemic approach that works for me, one update a week, no pressure; the update can be small or big. Some people wanted that i would do QOL Stuff sooner, but it would not work for me because i am still trying to decide if Pixel Piracy is Job for me or a Passion project that i do for fun. But now that i have made all the content like Hell, which is essentially an Arena mode, and other stuff, it gives me time to analyze how that content performs and then, after QOL Updates, decide how i add depth to these systems. The way I will work on QOL Stuff is purely based on this discord list: https://discord.gg/BKKmFKpQk9 I will choose the most voted stuff and try to implement what is possible; it's for the community. Alongside regular Friday updates, i want to start working on the website because, as of right now, the game has no official website beyond this steam page, Twitter, and Facebook profile. I was talking a lot about how i would work on the game until Summer, after which i will revisit my relationship with the game. After working on the game for some time and seeing people liking it, i think it would be a wasted opportunity if i did not continue supporting it, at least for the whole of 2023, but we will see how that will go. At some point, i would take a Summer break to spend more time with my kids and wife, so don't expect much activity when Summer begins. I also rebranded and removed the classic word; I will be removing the classic word in steps; the pre-2023 version should be the classic, not the other way around; the idea came from wow classic. Have a good one, everyone, and stay tuned for Friday's QOL Update!

Hey! Further improvements, nothing major.
- Added Cow Milk and Cow Tail missing textures.
- New Docking Fee: Ship Size / (20 - IslandDificulty) + 6, this should make the early game fee much smaller while scaling to the end game

- Fixed Bug where Crew Roster Emblems would look weird.
- Fixed Bug where when changing weapons, the fishing rod line would not remove properly.
- Fixed Bug where in some very rare situations, Pirates could have no weapons.
Hey! I got some feedback that Docking System is a bit too cruel. I decided to do a balance pass.
- The docking System no longer requires a physical Dock, but instead, all you need is a Town; this change gives backward compatibility for all saves that are pre-1.2.10 but also makes it a bit easier for you to edit your ship while still having an effect of taxation on medium-big ships.
- Hoboken Pirates and Island Bandits spawn 1 unit less.

Hey!
Roadmap Revision 1 is now ready.
Many of you are wondering what will happen after i fix the bugs. I decided to draft a roadmap for you all to see, i might alter it later, but this is a general idea that i have for the content.
The first step is to fix the most painful bugs, i am like 60-70% done with that and then create an infrastructure (Content Deploying + Rum Drifting), after which the content-pumping phase will begin, akin to Weekly Shonen Jump, i utilized the same strategy before with my other game, and it was quite a good system to work with, people knew that on every Friday there would be an update with some content.
PPSL: What is Pixel Piracy - Shrimp Legacy?
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/264140/view/3638381592947383819
Development Strategy
PP Development Strategy consists of making a desirable product and adding depth to the game.
There is lots of opportunity for how the game can be expanded, I am looking forward to that, but first, i will be focusing on the infrastructure. For example, PPSL is Infrastructure. If you are looking for frequent Content Updates, then i think it's safe to assume that those will be coming somewhere in March.
What Next?
In the near future, you can look forward to the 1.2.10 Update, which will add Docking System Feature. Then there will be PPSL, and Rum Drifting alongside some Monsters.
Docking System:
You will have to pay a tariff to dock on the island and build a ship. This is optional; however, if you refuse to pay, then Debtors will be attacking you. Bigger the ship, more you pay!
PPSL: Pixel Piracy - Shrimp Legacy:
After the deployment of PPSL, the world of Pixel Piracy will gain background and a reason to exist.
Rum Drifting and Monsters:
Monsters are pretty self-explanatory. However, Rum Drifting will make sense after the 1.2.10 Update and Deployment of PPSL.
Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading.
Hey!
Next Week, I will release a Supporter DLC for the Pixel Piracy called Pixel Piracy - Shrimp Legacy; this is a standalone companion software for the Pixel Piracy that has three features. Many of you suggested that I should do a supporter DLC, so this is my way of doing it!
Features:
- It has narrated lore that explores the world of pixel piracy and explains the origins of how pirates came to be, lore is profound and will give everyone now a sense of what can be expected from Pixel Piracy and in what direction Pixel Piracy will go.
- It has beautiful chill ambient screensavers; you can use them while you study or program.
- It has a gamification element in the form of a cookie clicker, you farm shrimps, and then you unlock new lore bits.
Hey! First of all, thank you for the encouragement, i appreciate it; the amount of support i got from you all is overwhelming, and physically it's just impossible to thank everyone, but know that i appreciate you for sticking around and giving me support; it's empowering. I have finally deployed full version 1.2.7; check the patch notes.
- *Fixed Bug where sometimes you could not view weapon inventory or sell view.
- *Fixed Bug where sometimes Shop Scrollbar would not properly hide when closing UI.
- *Fixed Bug where you could not command your crew to move on your ship during the Cannon Phase of Sea Battle.

- *Performance: If you have many pirates and you try to grapple to the island, the game will lag; this is fixed.
- *Combat: Passive Units will now turn hostile when you actually attack them, rather than when you assign an attack icon
- *Balance: 30% Chance to start the game without any food.
Hey Community! Pixel Piracy Version 1.2.6 is now Up. This is an exciting update; it fixes a few bugs, improves grappling and pirate control, and adds a custom lighting system to the game.
- Shopkeeper shop info will now disappear if you attack them.

- Added Custom Lighting system.
- Pirates during combat now will react better to your commands.
- Grappling system reliability improved.
Hey Guys!
First of all, big thanks for the overwhelming support; it means a lot; it's one of the reasons why i decided to write this post and a pledge that i decided to commit to the game for the next six months and try my best to expand the game as best as i can, this means new content and bug fixes.
The roadmap structure will be created later; I am currently coming up with a schedule and format on how I will be delivering content. I can't wait to reveal my plans! steamhappy
When coming back, i did not have anything particular in mind; I just wanted to fix a few bugs where pirates get stuck, etc., that's all. But as i worked more on the game and saw players be quite enthusiastic about PP, I decided to change my plans...
Additionally, regarding the moderation, as you all know, it's just me doing community management. It takes unnecessary energy to filter out trolls and toxic members within the community, and i have a stance where i generally try not to answer them; why should i give my attention to some troll instead of an enthusiastic fan?
I have been thinking about how i will approach my communication with the community, and i decided to embody a role of a pirate captain in a literal sense and do PR to ease my job and remove emotion from the community management.
So moving forward regarding the moderation, i will enforce a strict version of the Rules and Guidelines For Steam to save my energy and channel it into developing the product; what only matters is a good product, i am going to create an environment where that will be possible.
So, from now on, consider that the community forum is a pirate ship or my home, and you are a crew or a guest. If you don't play by the rules, you will be banned; i will be walking you off the plank.
TDLR; 1) Big thanks for the support. 2) I will be working on the game for six months 3) i will ban toxic members without warning; PP forums are not a place for drama.
Note: Last Night, there was a build malfunction; I fixed this. I believe there will be a few weeks of pain before i get the infrastructure in place, i am going to work towards automated testing of the game.

Hey Everyone! I have just updated Pixel Piracy with the 1.2.4 version, which has some cool stuff. Check the patch notes below.
- *Added a bunch of new sky and sea environmental gradients.
- *Added Kelp that grows from the sea; it appears sometimes.
- *Added Ambient Shadows to the Ships; this system can be later expanded to introduce night lighting to the ships.
- *Fixed some bugs with the Inventory where Inventory would not correctly render because some items would have no sprite.
- *Improved Algorithm that detects if a pirate is clipping in the terrain; this algorithm is responsible for unclipping the pirate.
- *Added Equip Sounds.
- *Fixed Bug where you could Equip SKill Books and increase ability count from 19 to 20.
- *When using items, such as healing items, the item list no longer resets if items are still left in a stack.

Hey! I pushed a new Update to Steam. I did some work on the Pathfinding, and i am pretty happy with the outcome. Here is the VIdeo Link: https://i.gyazo.com/3fa5877aed132b119f0438bf5a543872.mp4
- Pirates now react correctly to the move commands.
- Fixed Bug where Island borders were buggy and you could not click there; this caused issues like Pirates falling in the water when trying to Grapple.
- Fixed Bug where Secret Locations (Treasure) that you uncovered are not visible on the map.
- Added visual cue where exactly is the end position of the movement for a pirate.
- Enemy Patch movement cues were removed as it was adding clutter to the screen.
Hey! I can't believe i am working on Pixel Piracy, but here we are! Just polishing stuff. Read the notes!
- GFX: Added Custom Cursor.
- GFX: Added Frontal Grass and Trees for some variation.
- GFX: Added New Effect when clicking where to go.
- UI: Tooltips are now rendered on top of the game; they are clear now.
- Sound: Improved Buying Item Sound.
- World Map: Added Fog; you can't travel now to distant parts of the map if you don't have map reading.
- Starting: When starting, there is now a 20% chance that you will begin on a barren island.
- Fixed Bug where some Sounds were not playing during Pause Mode.
Hey! Deployed some fixes and one accessibility feature.
- You can now Move the Camera Up and Down.
- Fixed a Bug where sometimes you could not interact with the shop.
- Fixed a Bug where sometimes your Captain would clip into the terrain.
- Added Version Number to the Main Menu.
Hey! The game is pretty old now by modern standards, but it's still quite charming and I believe it deserves to get some polish. I have released an update for Pixel Piracy with some fixes and main menu tweaks. I don't have a list of the fixes; been doing it on and off, but one of the fixes is that your Pirates would get stuck on the island sometimes and could not get back on the boat. When reporting bugs, please try to include [2023 Bug] so that i can filter bug reports from old pixel piracy. Thanks!
Hello, fans!
I am Vitali Kirpu, the creator of Pixel Piracy and ex-CEO of the Quadro Delta, some of you probably know already, but the Quadro Delta went bankrupt, and nobody told you why. I am here to tell you why it went bankrupt and why it took over six months to tell you this.
There are two reasons why Quadro Delta went bankrupt first of the reasons is that the sales of the Pixel Privateers were not what we expected.
And the second reason involves a public figure Alexander Poysky selling generated CD-KEYs in secret. I will not go into the specifics here for the time being, and this is the main reason for the silence. My STEAM representative is however aware of the issue that happened. I also believe what happened to Quadro Delta partially caused STEAM to limit how many CD-KEYS can be generated. https://www.polygon.com/2017/8/18/16167462/valve-steam-keys-limiting-developers
It seems that the person who Alexander Poysky worked with and probably still works with is now trying to spread the false rumors like this.
------------------
------------------
I want to say that SquareZack in this instance is a catalyst for this announcement. I will be contacting Steam regarding SquareZacks false accusations.
In retrospective when you will look at this post and cross-reference what I will say in the future regarding this matter you will understand what happened to Pixel Piracy and Quadro Delta in detail.
If you want, you can ask Alex on Twitter what he thinks about this announcement. He will probably fight my statement, or he will block you. You, however, want to do it publicly.
You as fans deserve to know at least something.
Take care guys, and I see you later.
Hey!
Right now I am working as a software specialist in the oil industry and at nights I am developing the next hit game Ragnorium with a much better experience that I have obtained from Pixel Piracy in 2014 and from the Pixel Privateers in 2016.
Some of you really want to see new updates to the Pixel Piracy and perhaps redesign and performance boost to the endgame, but the situation I am in currently does not make it possible for me to make any updates to the game. I am an ambitious man and I am planning to move on and I want everyone else to move on with me.
I really wish haters would stop hating Pixel Piracy and leave the bandwagon of hate and focus on the future as I told earlier. Unlike Quadro Delta, I have ZERO tolerance for hate and I will be banning every single abusive toxic member who crosses the line of fine criticism. Some of you don't know what I had to go through and what it feels to be betrayed by the partner, making games is more than just writing code as there is more variables involved. Where are the other people who helped me with the Pixel Piracy? (I am not speaking about Re-Logic here)
Ragnorium is a one-man show and this game will define me for the years to come and I will not let other people come on my way this time around to tamper with my dream. Today you judge me based on Pixel Piracy and in 2018 you will judge me based on the Ragnorium.
You send resources and colonists to the alien planet and try to establish a self-sustainable colony. The game is 3D and it's going to be released in 2018 or 2019. You as a consumer, in the end, will decide if the game is worth your time and money. You will watch some videos on youtube and maybe follow the devlog and then eventually decide if you want to give this game a try or not, nobody is forcing you.
- Game Website (http://www.ragnorium.com).
- Join Ragnorium discord with over 800 members (https://discord.gg/Gy65VN). I am on discord daily interacting with the community.
I want to leave this in the positive tone and I really wish that community will mature with me, after all, every one of us moves on and acquires new experience.

Hello there everyone! Alexander Poysky here again (finally!). I'm back up to speed with my health issues and will be writing here more often. First off I want to sincerely thank the entire team at Quadro Delta and Re-Logic for having been so patient with my health issues, it's been a long road to recovery but I'm finally doing my physical therapy. Second, I wanted to thank Lisa, our amazing community manager, and invite anyone who appreciates her work to write her at lisa@quadrodelta.com to let her know she's great! Or feel free to join our Discord channel and tell her in real time right here! https://discordapp.com/channels/81026265460506624/82224889724928000 Now, on to business shall we!
PIXEL PRIVATEERS Q1 Pushback
Let's adress the elephant in the room. Yes, we passed our Q1 launch window. Want to know why? Because we won't be offering anything short of something that Re-Logic would publish. It's that simple. Most publishing houses push developers towards quick release dates in order to hit proper times, but Re-Logic is different, VERY different. Contrary to normal publishers, they are concerned with the game, the core concept, the ideals we stand for, and how we work. What this translates into is that they are more than happy to guide us into making a game that they themselves would have made, which will assure the quality of the product over anything that could ever resemble a launch window in the name of profit. We'll be done soon, we are getting there, but we will be taking the Gandalf approach. "A good game never launches before or after, it launches right when it should". We didn't follow this rule of thumb for Pixel Piracy and while the game was rated well, and while we were a successful title on early access, we have always felt that there were a number of errors that we made. I myself pushed release on that title in order to hit the Summer Sale back in the day. It wasn't done out of avarice, but out of a lack of guidance. Now we HAVE that guidance and are fine with waiting, the game comes before all else. We owe it to you as players. We will not make the same mistakes with Privateers, and we have experience, a solid and wonderful publisher, and our past mistakes that we have learned from to show for it. Trust me, it doesn't come without it's fair share of stress and problems, heck I just got myself into a big mortage due to the fact that I calculated a Febuary release so I'm the first one to wish the game is out in the wild. But we need to make this sacrifice in order to provide you all with the title we've envisioned.
POST LAUNCH:
I want to adress our POST launch plan here, and while the logistics of it will be handled internally by myself and the team, I feel that you should know what the general game plan is. The first 6 months post-launch will see the team continously working on the game. We will be adding a wealth of new content to the title, and NO WE WILL NOT BE CHARGING FOR IT. We plan on doing things the way Re-Logic do things with Terraria, and have a long lasting product with permanent free updates at regular intervals.
TLDR:
We are still alive, Priv will come out soon, when it's done, and post launch we will be adding loads of content for free.
P.S As always, any complaints regarding the way I handled Piracy's launch can be taken up directly with me at alexpoysky@gmail.com and I PROMISE to respond each and every criticism with dedication as I always have. I think each and every one of you who have dedicated time to ask about my health, donate games for me while I was recovering in bed, and chat with me to help me pass the time during these difficult months. While I'm not 100% well yet, I'm back and have the same desire to speak with each and every one of you as always!

Hey there everyone. Alex Poysky here with some pretty good news! If you've been following my whole health thing and are one of the hundreds of people who have been wishing me well over the past month, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. It's helped so much, and I've made sure to reply to each and every one of you via e-mail, skype, or here. If you are one of the dozens of people who have bought me my wishlist games anonymously, you are amazing and trust me, you have kept me from having to move, entertained and able to heal and cope with the miserable pain I've been dealing with. A HUGE update regarding my health condition is the following. The doctors drew blood yesterday and ran tests. The infection (at least IN MY BLOOD) is dead, meaning that I've not only gotten a one in a million spinal infection, but I've BEATEN it in record time. Another month of bed rest and the spinal swelling SHOULD go down. There will be NO permanent nerve damage, and my brain itself is fine, a HUGE part of this is thanks to the positivity I have kept thanks to you all. My partner in crime, Vitali, has been working on Ragnorium, an amazing zombie survival online game, for the past year and a half, but he jokingly promised to go back and fix Piracy up if my health got better before we launched Pixel Privateers. Since it has, and since he is a man of his word, HE IS NOW BACK ON PIXEL PIRACY WORKING TO FIX IT'S QUALITY. Now, I know he's kept to the shadows up until now, but I want to urge you all to write him positive messages at @vitalikirpu and email vitali@quadrodelta.com The reason is as follows. I am the public face of the company, I am the one who recieves 100% of the fan mail. But I am NOT the one who made the game. HE IS. Please, show Vitali support, let him know that his game is good, but could be better. Let him know you appreciate his work and I PROMISE you will make his day brighter. We now have a monumental following of Pixel Privateers, and we are asking loads of you to please join us for Beta testing of both it and Ragnorium. As a personal favor from someone who owes so much to his community, I am asking you to take the time to write him even a few words of positivity, he's never recieved them and as such I feel he feels that he doesn't have any fans. Let's prove him wrong together!!!! @vitalikirpu and email vitali@quadrodelta.com

Hey there everyone, Alex Poysky here with an update on how the studio is doing. First off, I've been a little "removed" from the daily ins and outs of the studio's running due to a pretty scary health issue I'm dealing with. I feel like I won the ANTI lottery here, as it turns I appear to have the only documented case of Espondilodiscitis in Spain at the moment. One in 100 thousand in people OVER 50. I am 31. It took the doctors a month to diagnose correctly due to it being so rare that the 3 (yes THREE) neurosurgeons I speak to on an almost weekly basis have never once in their medical careers encountered it. You know who detected it and diagnosed me? My girlfriend, she somehow came up with the information and popped the question to the surgeons, who did the required tests and lo and behold, I have an infection that has a 0.004 % chance to appear in males OVER 55. There is simply no explanation as to why I have it, but I want everyone to know my girlfriend, Vanesa Maria Garcia Fernandez saved my life and I am going to devote what is left of it to making her the happiest person I can. I had a standard L5 S1 vertebrae surgery two months ago, and was getting better, and about a month ago everything turned into constant pain in different parts of my body. One minute I'd be fine and the next I'd have a pain that related to my pancreas being cut open, or my lung being flattened, or my personal favorite "appendix bursting over and over again" as in, the exact MOMENT you feel the appendix burst. It's excruciating, it's miserable, and I have to take prozac as an anti depressant just to get through the day in my usual cheery spirit. It turns out the INSIDE (I don't even) of my operated vertebrae is infected, and said infection presses up against the nerves within, sending "fun" nerve signals into my brain such as "exploding appendix" or "broken knee". Now that I've learned to endure the pain to some extent, I realize just how truly curious it is, as I can just be sitting down and it flares up like I'm going to die within a minute, annoying to say the least. In fact, it's 6 a.m and I can't sleep and am writing this due to the pain and having read a few negative comments mentioning me having run off into the sunset with the money or whatever. Look, I WISH! Trust me, if any of you have ever wanted me to go through any hardships you've gotten your wish. I am absolutely miserable. Having said that however, I still find time to run Pixel Privateers and it's launch is immenent. To those who say it's a clone of Pixel Piracy I invite you to please take a look at our facebook page where Lisa (The community manager I've had to hire due to my failing health) writes wonderful weekly posts about only SOME of the new things you'll be able to see in Privateers. Now, on to brass tacks. Piracy is buggy and the internal code is messy, it'd take a whole new code base to FIX it, and. While we can never remake it, look out for Q1 2016, but that's a different piece of news for a different moment and I've only got so long before I'm loopy from morphine so let's take advantage of my lucid moments now. This year I'm not going to be able to host a giveaway like I did last year due to the sheer physical exertion it requires (10-12 hours a day sitting at my desk handing out keys in a chat room). What I WILL do is speak with valve and make sure anyone who has pixel piracy gets something special witht he purchase of pixel privateers. This WON'T make the people who already hate me happy, but it's genuinely the most I can do now due to my health, and I ask you take solace in the fact that I can't be in the bahamas with the money you paid for the game due to the fact that while pixel piracy cost around 8 k euros to make, Pixel Privateers has cost around 50 times more. Yes, 50. Which is why some of our testers laugh whenever someone calls this a scam or a clone or whatever, but friends, let people be skeptical, it's in their nature and WE failed them in the past. Time will put everyone in their place, and if they are right they are only lending credence to something they believe in, and I can do nothing more than applaud them for trying to help other potential buyers stay clear of what they percieve is a bad product. As for privateers itself, here are some links that will easily explain away the whole "this game is a scam and they aren't spending money on it at all" https://www.facebook.com/PixelPrivateersGame/ Weekly updates with gifs, explanations, and trust me, we have one ace in our hole which we haven't (nor will we) explain until launch, and it's the single most requested feature we have EVER had. I know there'll be people here who call me a liar or whatever and claim I'm making this up. Trust me, TRUST ME, I wish. Also, thnk about it, if I were going to make something up I wouldn't claim to have some literal one in a million infectious vertebrae thing that is related to people almost twice my age. I'd make something more believable up. Having said that. I'm asking ANYONE who has had spondiolitis (not the ankylosing one, the INFECTIOUS VERTEBRAE one) to let me know. I need to know if this is permanent, I need to know if it's true that with the months I'll get better. this pain is so miserable I can only cry day in, day out. I don't want pity or anything of the sort. I am giving you all an explanation as to why someone who would write on a weekly basis went silent, and am now well enough to do so. My personal skype is alexpoysky , my personal twitter is @alexpoysky and my personal email is alexpoysky@gmail.com . If you are going to fill the post with hate save it and just direct it at me personally. I KNOW we dropped the ball on Piracy, it's as good as it CURRENTLY can get. But it'll get better in 2016! Privateers is do or die for me. If it sucks I'm hanging up my producer hat potentially, but it doesn't. I'm confident it'll wow you all. And if anyone just wants to chat, keep my company maybe, I'll try and read each and every email. I need the distraction and I'll do what I can (health permitting) to respond. I can't attest to the quality of the emails as most will be written one handed on my phone while standing in my back brace, but I WILL write back. I PROMISE once I'm better I'll host a giveaway, and I'll try and be my usual chatty self from now on! I have to give the antibiotics, treatment, and the nasty radio isotopes I've been injected with about 3 months to clear my body of the gunk. I want to thank my entire team for being so kind and understanding. Vitali- You are the best Blyat who exists, no Cyka for you mate! Jaakko- You are an incredible team leader and the pressure my declining health is putting on you is nothing short of an endurance run, thank you for being so understanding. Tuomo- Thank you for not putting up resistance any time I ask for changes man, I know it can be grating to push against your own work at the behest of someone else, but it's for the greater good of our future players. Mikko- Holy crap man you are a beast, you made that transition from Piracy Maintenence dev to full time Privateers dev like a pro! Nino- Even though you don't speak much I know you probably think more than anyone else around you, keep up the phenomenal art work. Ari- I love how everyone told me you were obese and I'd have to walk around you and never mention food to you and I believed them, only to find the skinniest, most talkative and nice guy at the office waiting! Lisa- You've been an absolute blessing for me, giving me the chance to heal and rest and TRY not to think about work obsessively. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN ANGEL! Kole- Where do I even beging. The aural work your music brings to the games is haunting. It's the backbone, the salt on a steak. And to top it off you are an incredible friend. We are real people, we are trying our hardest, we MAY or may not mess up, but we TRIED! Alex Poysky

Alex Poysky
Hey there everyone! Alex Poysky here! I know it's been a while since I've last posted, I apologize for that but I've been out a couple of months due to a pretty touch-and-go spinal surgery that I had to go through. I'm just now getting back into full swing (albeit with loads of occasional pain!), but that DOESN'T mean we have been sitting idly by (heck, I can't even sit!). Now, while I'm not going to make a full announcement YET for a number of reasons, I CAN say that we ( that's TEN people, 4 programmers, 3 artists, a composer, a social media manager and myself as producer) have been VERY hard at work on our next title, as well as something interesting and fresh for our first project that has nothing to do with the current iteration of it. Considering the fact that our first game was done in SPARE TIME by Vitali Kirpu while both he and I held down second jobs, the fact that we now have a 10 man team working full time on our next project should attest to the fact that we are working to bring quality over quantity. Also, we are AVOIDING Early Access alltogether for our next project, and only releasing the title once we all feel it's 100% "done" As we get the go-ahead to post more and more info we will be doing so on our main site, quadrodelta.com (which has undergone some massive changes as of late!). 2016 is going to be pretty huge for Quadro Delta, and we hope to start the year off with a bang! As always, please feel free to join our forums to get some inside info on what we're working on, access to private beta's of our upcoming title, and consulting us personally on whatever you wish to know! We are very open, easy to access, and willing to hear our fans! our twitter feeds are @pixelpiracygame , @pixelprivateers , @vitalikirpu and @alexpoysky .

Hello there everyone! Alex Poysky here with something that's been a long time coming. This isn't an update, but a tool for the community to use to give FAN translations of the game. We've had an incredible amount of support and feedback from the community and decided to make this tool so that you could create any language files you choose! There are a few restrictions, mainly NON ordinary characters (special symbols, cyrilic, etc) so keep that in mind when translating. You will need to download Notepad ++ in order to manipulate the files, and here are the instructions https://www.dropbox.com/s/klsk0r0fr144j3c/English.zip?dl=0 Download that and then edit it using Notepad++ To test out the translations before submitting them, you need to 1. Create folder Mods in PixelPiracy folder 2. Create Translations folder inside Mods 3. copy the file there and rename to Polish.xml or something then it should be selectable in the settings menu We are looking forward to implementing future translations, I'll be posting this update as a sticky in the forum, where anyone can upload their own translation files to share with others. Enjoy!

Pixel Piracy: An Open Letter from Quadro Delta:
Hello there everyone! Alex Poysky here with a reflection on the past year or so along with some pretty huge news. When we initially launched Pixel Piracy last year, we did so feeling that we had left a lot of what we WANTED to go into the final game on the drawing board. In all honesty, we took this step out of necessity, and while this certainly met our needs, it left our customers with a game that – while full of potential – fell far short of expectations. While Early Access games that make a quick buck and then proceed to break their promises are a dime a dozen, we feel strongly that it is neither morally nor ethically correct of us to move on to future projects without coming back to Pixel Piracy and spendingthe time and effort necessary to make things right for our customers. This was to be a holistic effort to address the underlying problems, content revisions, and bugs that shipped with the product last year. None of this is an excuse for the state of the initial game, nor is this a pity cry for you all to give us a pass and let us make a second game while overlooking the first one's faults. Behind the scenes, we have rebuilt the entire AI engine, restructured a ton of gameplay elements, and added a wealth of new effects, content, and languages. We have also taken careful steps to enhance the accessibility of ourgame while staying true to our core vision. This has all been conducted over the past six months under the “Enhanced Edition” title – a remastering of the game, hence the name. We have come to the realization that this may have caused confusion – making people think that this was some sort of DLC or paid update. This was never our intent.
The “Enhanced Edition” is free - completely free. It's a series of HUGE updates and sweeping changes that bring the game to a point where we are comfortable calling it “complete” and worthy of our initial vision.
We are also planning to drop the “Enhanced Edition” moniker as a part of this. The forthcoming update is – quite simply – Pixel Piracy as it should have been from day one. Consider this note to be a formal apology letter from our studio to each and every one of you – our customers and potential customers. We launched a product that WAS NOT up to our standards. We hope that by investing the money you gave us back into Pixel Piracy that we will finally deliver the quality product YOU as a client deserve. We expect neither thanks nor applause for this. This isn’tabout that but a desire to make things right borne from a love for our work and a moral responsibility to you, our customers. If you were unhappy with the game at launch, we CANNOT blame you, but what we CAN do is let you know that we have a sincere desire to break the Early Access mold and take the high road by rebuilding the game, and are presenting you with a product that we feel is worth your time and investment. If youwere iffy on Pixel Piracy before, we would invite you to give it another chance and see if we've managed to bring this project close enough to home for you to enjoy! Of course, we would welcome your ongoing feedback – we promise we are listening! Looking back at all of the times when I almost let the justified criticism get to me, where I ALMOST pulled the plug and said “Sadly, we are just another of ‘those people.’”...I am not proud of those moments. We were a poster child for what is wrong with Early Access. That ends today. We are proudly moving ahead and hope to one day be seen as one of the very few Early Access games that dropped the ball, picked it up, dusted it off, and kept our word. That said, we've learned from our mistakes, and will be COMPLETELY avoiding Early Access for our next title. Pixel Privateers is slated for a “Mid 2015” Launch, but don't hold me to it. It'll be done when it's done, and it WILL be great. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know we have violated your trust in the past, but we are wholly committed to earning it back and beyond. We never forget that if it weren't for you, we wouldn't be here doing what we love each and every day.
HERE is the entire changelog for the past few months. APRIL corresponds to this patch. https://docs.google.com/document/d/19BVAfFheTVhU0NNSmoQWLPJ5fYF4scvx_iIipKo2ia4/edit?usp=sharing
Sincerely, Vitali Kirpu Alexander Poysky Mikko Arvola And the rest of the Quadro Delta team
Hello everyone! The Pixel Piracy team remains hard at work on improving the game, and we are pleased to bring our latest update to everyone today! The "N" update contains plenty of small - but significant - changes in how the game plays. This includes changes to items' stats and effects as well as Stat Modifiers (status effects and passive items that can affect pirate's stats). Also pay special attention to the new status effects as scurvy and drunk, your pirates are becoming more fragile now! Please review the summary of changes As you know, we had wanted this one to be the last patch, but halfway through it something quite unique happened. Something I hadn’t anticipated, but it’s definitely positive. While I can’t give too much away, I can say that we are adding on a FOURTH patch to our ENHANCED edition. We had wanted three initially, with the one we are rolling out now to be the final one, but with so much potential left untapped, and with the new circumstances that came up around ten days ago, we want to come through and make the game as best as it can be. For this reason we are adding a FOURTH patch to the ENHANCED EDITION lineup. Without going into detail, expect some very impressive changes soon.
After the Enhanced Edition launches, we will continue working on even more content, more stuff, and more features, for free, because it’s the best possible way we can make up for having launched the project too early.
PATCHNOTES 1.0.16
- Passive Items overhaul! Tweaked 25+ item stats and effects.
- Stat Modifiers! Status Effects and Passive Items can affect pirate's stats. Modified stats shown in green/red on the pirate card.

Hey everybody, as you already know, in parallel to bugfixing, we're adding new content to the game. So we're pleased to invite you to join us in the search of new and rare weapons to include in the next update. We want to remark that if we choose your weapon, you'll be credited as the manufacturer in the weapon description. Yesterday we started asking on Twitter and Facebook, and here is the result, so now you can see how they will look in the game: New suggested weapons list Please tell us what do you think about them and feel free to contribute with more ideas adding stats, notes etc (please avoid swords, we have too many!). Jump into the next link to check out the list of weapons already in the game (as reference) and the new (suggested) ones: New and old weapons list with descriptions

WE WILL NOT BE USING EARLY ACCESS FOR THIS TITLE
HERE IS THE VIDEO of Pixel Privateers, made by our OFFICIAL YouTuber Paul Soars Jr. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jubE9eBn8MY Hello there everyone, Alex Poysky here with a pretty neat update! My good friend Paul Soars Jr has made a Let's Play video of the current private build of Pixel Privateers and I wanted to take this opportunity to talk a bit about why
WE WILL NOT BE USING EARLY ACCESS FOR THIS TITLE
Let me just blast through the reasons in bullet form, as there are MANY. 1. WE DON'T NEED TO: We made enough money from clients on Pixel Piracy to warrant upgrading out 2 man NON studio to a 10 man team across 3 countries, with a PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT studio in Turku, Finland; a DESIGN Studio in Murcia, Spain, and freelance artists working to help our LEAD artist (yes we have a PLURAL amount of artists). 2. IT WOULDN'T BE RIGHT: Even if we NEEDED the money, it wouldn't be right MORALLY. We already went through the motions of game development one time using Early Access and wound up launching a buggy title way too early because we had a very, VERY avid test group of fans who would say it was perfect. By cooking it until perfection on our own terms, we ensure we are giving our clients what they PAY for and not what WE PROMISE THEM WE'LL COME THROUGH ON. 3. EARLY ACCESS IS ABUSED WAAAAY TOO OFTEN: "Abused" is a very strong term, as we ourselves are guilty of this. When you are making a game, you start out with a wide open field of open doors to potentially go through. When looking for funding, you look through those open doors into ANY direction you want, and promised based on them. Development of a game OBLIGATES a team to close doors little by little, many times closing UNWANTED doors that you PREVIOUSLY promised. Couple that with the fact that nowadays it's STRANGE for a studio to actually launch an Early Access title, and we're looking at an abuse cycle our studio wants to take no part in. We thank each and every one of you who have helped us get to where we are, and we are learning from the past instead of living in it. 4. EARLY ACCESS IS A CRUTCH WE DON'T WANT TO USE. We feel Early Access is a "Crutch" people use, and it's one we don't need. We should be judged as professionals in a sector where we attempt to thrive and flourish, not flounder and waddle. The only way we can do so is to produce tight, polished games with the risk of having it all go to hell and a handbasket if we launch it and it turns out to be crap. THIS FEAR is what drives us, it's waht makes us fight. If we take that fear away we'd just promise the moon and then deliver something with no "heart". 5. I simply think EA is garbage at this point in time due to the studios misinterpreting how it should be used. LARGE studios have NO "real" right to be using Early Access. Come on guys, you base your game's sales point on a HUGE mainstream developer's name and push out a pre-alpha tech demo and charge top dollar for it, just to turn around and whine about how "not enough people bought it to make it viable so we pulled the plug." That has a name where I come from, and it's bullshit, I'm calling you guys on it and will show you how it's supposed to be done. I'm not a AAA studio, I'm BARELY a mid-range studio, and I'm sitting here working on a staurday afternoon after having had my spine collapse on me and having been bedridden for two months now. If you want the respect of your fans, if you want your "legitimacy" as a game development studio or a world renowned developer or an "ace" producer, don't beat aroudn the bush, don't cash out, don't cut corners and get the job done. I'm sick and tired of Kickstarter, Early Access and all of these startup programs that are supposed to be used by people who NEED the means to get their projects off the ground abused by these Big Name so-and-so's and their rock solid reputations (or not). Why don't you find a publisher to put two million into your idea and get it done? Oh, what's that? Because when you don't come through on a Kickstart or Early Access promise you only dick over a client, and doing the same to a PUBLISHER will hurt because they have nasty lawyers? Well tough s**t friend, them's the bricks. Oh man that felt good to get off my chest! Anyways, have a great weekend and expect Privateers to launch in the April-July 2015 time of the year, shortly after Pixel Piracy ENHANCED (WHICH is a COMPLETELY FREE Upgrade of Pixel Piracy that we have put around 100 thousand dollars into between artists, refractored code, man hours, expenses from external companies that have to come in and UN-mess up out game engine, etc, COMPLETELY FREE, just to clear our name and prove we are sorry for having participated in the injustice that is Early Access.).
