This game is the first game I completed, it was made for Ludum Dare 48. The theme of this jam was "Deeper and Deeper." My attempt to implement this theme was to have the protagonist traverse deeper and deeper underground in order to escape the surface.

In terms of Game Design, there is not much actual Game Design, the player only has the options to move left and right. I tried at one point to give the player two directions to jump off of a platform, leading to two paths which were decorated slightly differently, but I neglected to give any importance to this decision. Additionally, I neglected to have the player perform any interesting actions with the looping building and machdrop mechanics I had designed.

In my opinion the worst part of my game has to be the lack of challenge. There is no actual difficulty involved in the game. As long as you continue to progress downwards (which is really easy to do) you will easily be able to easily find your way to the disappointing ending of an empty room with a 100 meter marker.

This game is honestly not worth the 20 seconds it would take to beat. I did not utilize any of the mechanics that I designed to make the game fun to play. I am really bad at game development, specifically with game design, but I by finishing this game, I was able to easily identify the things I do wrong. I hope that I will be able to learn from all of these mistakes and make a game that is at least a little fun to play next time.
