"No cop can stop me! Have you heard that?! These guys work for me. These guys will die for me. I'm not going to the jail, but I know where I'm gonna be in a few hours. Enjoying my freedom with a Pina Colada in my hand."

Don Vittorio, five minutes before to be arrested.

Crossing the Borders is an action shoot'em up game made in 48h by Jordi GarcĂa (me :D) to participate in the Game Maker's Toolkit Jam First Edition. Try to keep your thugs alive, they are your firepower and the number of lives you have!

>Dev note:

To be honest, the original concept was a totally different idea. It was conceived as a shoot'em up/roguelike where you have to defeat the police forces from the bank heist to the escape, like the movie Heat. Instead of dungeon rooms, it was going to be procedural streets -your escape route through the city-, with different police enemies and bosses. Your gang ,who just robbed the bank, had to survive and carry themselves the maximum amount of money. With that capital, the player would be able to upgrade the group and hire new members for the next, and harder, heist.

However, as always in game jams, I set my sights too high as a solo developer in a 48h rush. The result was a simple -and unfair >.<- shoot'em up where you have to try to survive against a police force wage. Don't judge me too hard! x)
