+ 86% off Mainframe Defenders / Dev. diary #3 Lords of Ravage! |
|
We are incredibly excited to share some thrilling news with you all! Our team has been diligently working behind the scenes, and now we are ready to unveil our revamped developer website. |
Hi all, long time no write, already forgot your turn-based green evenings with a good synthwave soundtrack? You can go back and play again, or better yet, a couple more times. Unfortunately there are no updates since we're completely consumed by Lords of Ravage and can't get distracted (we're looking for a publisher). In the meantime, you can buy the game for the lowest price possible with a great 24/7 streaming soundtrack (we can't sell the soundtrack due to legal reasons). |
We're releasing the demo version for our next project - Lords of Ravage. |

Anniversary Update: Other improvements. |
Hello and welcome to another dev diary for the Mainframe Defenders anniversary update. If you've played Mainframe Defenders you probably know that it suffers from the "inverse difficulty curve" syndrome. This basically means that the first missions will be the most difficult ones, and then you'll breeze past the rest of T1. Then, at the beginning of T2 the difficulty spikes again, probably ruining your run. This is what a new upgrade system is designed to elevate. |
Hello, this is ShiftyCode. It is time for the next dev diary for the anniversary 1.3 update. Even though the player builds are at the heart of the game, those builds would be pointless without some fun enemies. And the enemies can be a bit lacking if you've mastered the game. Some enemies did not create enough threat, even under the right circumstances. There are also some rather pointless enemies that have to be reworked, replaced, or removed. For example, spiders are pretty pointless. They barely pose a threat and die to everything. |
Hello, this is ShiftyCode, and today I would like to talk a bit about the future updates for the game. Thanks to your feedback I was able to better understand some of the issues the game has. Which was great, because when you playtest your game for hundreds of hours, it can become quite difficult to even remember why your game is fun in the first place =D |
New info for Brazil and Portugal! We are launching Portuguese localization (note: not Brazilian Portuguese). Not so long ago, our game was invited to the Indie X 2020 exhibition and we've decided to make a Portuguese translation for the occasion. |
1.2 Content update |
Hi everyone, it is ShiftyCode! It's been a while since the last content update for Mainframe Defenders and it is time to fix that =) I've wanted to thank you all for your support, so I am adding some new type of items to the game: Squad Upgrades. Those are regular items obtained the normal way that cannot be equipped by units. The effects range from simple stats buff, like armor bonus for the entire squad to much more involved stuff like adding heat to enemies per each status effect they have. There is a total of 14 squad upgrades, but you can only equip 4 at a time. |

MELTDOWN UPDATE |
Hello everyone and welcome to the final Meltdown update dev diary! |

Hello and welcome to the Mainframe Defenders dev diary! |
Mainframe Defenders: Meltdown Update Announced! |
This small patch aims to adjust the balance for higher difficulty, where reducing armor becomes more relevant. I've also changed some unit upgrades to add armor penetration or armor breach stacks instead. Also, you will find a new loadout for the Arawen. |
In this patch, I tried to stave off some obvious choices, such as Repair Kit and items and upgrades that gave a second move. Also, some weak items were strengthened, and the starting items of some units were changed (for which the new items were added). All these measures will make builds more diverse. |
I am excited to announce that Mainframe Defenders is released! This was a long journey that started with a simple question: can I make items in X-Com more fun? From there, it grew far beyond what I've originally intended. And hopefully, it won't stop there, so stay tuned for possible free content updates in the future! |
