Hi everybody, we're happy to announce that patch 42 is now officially out! Here are the full release notes:
Hi everybody, we know some of you have been wondering what the state of Patch 42 is. As more bug reports have been arriving and as we made a few more fixes, we'd like to do one last round of public testing.
If you are on the beta-patch-42-test branhc, the game should update for you to version 1.2.23584. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we'll be able to release the update during the week.
Any issues, please let us know in the discussions or at bugs@oxymoron.games, here are release notes with the recent fixes, plus the original list below.
Project Hospital 1.2.23584 - Patch 42 - Release Candidate 2
Hi everybody,
As every year, we would like to wish all of you Happy Holidays and also give you a bit of an update about how things have been going at Oxymoron Games.
The big news is - of course - the release of Silence of the Siren in Early Access and four updates that went live since. The game's soundtrack by Mat irok is now available too! Silence of the Siren has released with amazing reviews, so big thanks to everybody who gave us thumbs up or helped with feedback and testing before release!
We also keep supporting Project Hospital and quite a few bugfixes should release with patch #42 in January. The patch is already available on a beta branch if you'd like to try it now.
Next, we have a more recent bit of news: Vojtch Nepra has joined the team to fill the role of social media manager/content creator, so you can look forward to more posts, updates and behind the scenes. We also made an account on Bluesky and can already see a lot of activity there.
Now, it's time for us to take some time off after a very demanding season, so most of the team will be out of town until January 2nd. If you encounter any issues, dont hesitate to ask our amazing community here on the Steam forum, otherwise we should be able to get back to you at the beginning of January.
So, enjoy the Winter Sale and then Merry Holiday and see you in the New Year!
Hi everybody,
Good news, we are ready to start the public round of testing of the next patch of Project Hospital!
We had a busy summer preparing the Early Access launch of Silence of the Siren at the end of September - and if you like turn-based games or more specifically the HoMM series, this is something you might enjoy too!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2147380/Silence_of_the_Siren/
But, back to Hospital! :) We keep fixing bugs that still get reported from time to time and as usually, we have put the new patch on a beta branch first. So, if you'd like to try this version early and help us with the last round of testing (especially to check different kinds of hardware and setups like the Steam Deck), you can switch to beta-patch-42-test in Properties in your Steam library.
The release notes are listed below as always:
Project Hospital 1.2.23446 - Patch 42 - Fixes and changes
Hi everybody, after fixing a few more issues that got reported on the Steam forums since we put the new version on a beta branch, we're happy to announce that patch 41 is now officially out! Thanks a lot for helping us with testing, here are the full release notes: Fixes and changes
Hi everybody, While the team has been busy as we aim to release Early Access of Silence of the Siren this year, we still keep fixing any issues in Project Hospital that you report (and that don't turn out to be caused by incompatible mods or local issues with the game install. :) We've been seeing these quite regularly, especially in the last few months). As with previous updates, we have put the new version on a beta branch first. If you'd like to help us with the last round of testing, especially to check different kinds of hardware and setups, you can switch to beta-patch-41-test in Properties in your Steam library, try the patch early and let us know if you run into any issues! The release notes are listed below as always:
Hello everybody,
It looks like it's time to slowly wrap up 2023 and like every year, let us take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year! Also, we would like to thank everybody who bought Project Hospital during the last 12 months or participated in the currently running beta test of Silence of the Siren, our upcoming turn based strategy game. Welcome to the community!
For us, the year was mostly consumed by Silence of the Siren, as we're getting closer and closer to its planned release in Early Access. We visited several conferences across Europe including Gamescom and EGX and had a great time showing the game to a lot of you.
With Project Hospital, we were mostly helping players with the occasional technical issue and some compatibility problems on the Steam Deck. Also thanks for a few very nice messages with feedback and ideas we received during the year!
The team will now be mostly off until January 2nd, which means we might not be available on our social channels. If you encounter any issues, dont hesitate to ask our amazing community here on the Steam forum, otherwise we should be able to get back to you at the beginning of January.
For now enjoy the holidays and the upcoming Winter Sale!

Just like last year, Project Hospital is taking part in SimFest 2023 which will run until 24th of July. It is a huge event which is celebrating many games from the simulation genre.
You can buy Project Hospital for just 50% of its price and any DLC with a 20% discount.
Also make sure to check all the other great simulation games which are participating in the Steam event with us!
Hello everyone!
With the year 2022 almost at the end, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year. We know it was a difficult year for many of you and new challenges didnt miss our studio as well. But in the end we are excited about what awaits us in 2023.
Even though active development of Project Hospital has ended and no more DLC is planned, we continue to support the game. We added Steam Deck support so you can play the game everywhere. With new patches we tried to improve the game with recent patch 40 being the last one of this year. Our biggest event though was the announcement of Silence of the Siren, a sci-fi turn-based strategy game. For us it is an opportunity to try something new and we hope many of you will join Early Access which we plan to release next year.
The team will now need to recharge a little bit and will be taking a holiday until January 2nd, which means we might not be available on our social channels. If you encounter any issues, dont hesitate to ask our amazing community on the Steam forum, if they cant help, we should be able to get back to you at the beginning of January.
We hope the start of your Holiday will be more enjoyable with the Steam Winter Sale where Project Hospital will be available with a 50% discount and 20% discount for all DLCs.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hi everybody, after a few weeks on a Steam beta branch, the next minor patch for Project Hospital with the usual set of bugfixes and UI improvements is now officially out. Enjoy!
We're happy to announce that patch 40 for Project Hospital is almost ready to be released - if you'd like to help us with the last round of testing, you can switch to beta-patch-40-test in Properties in your Steam library.
The release notes are listed below and as you'd expect at this stage, we're mostly looking at smaller bug fixes and improvements as we haven't been receiving too many reports especially in the second half of the year.
Here's the beta branch that you can switch to in properties on Steam:
Hi everybody, after a few weeks both internal and open beta branch testing patch 39 is officially released. Thanks to everybody who tried it early! Amongst the usual batch of fixes and improvements, patch 39 brings official support for the Steam Deck. It is also worth mentioning some welcome fixes of community translations, and a couple of new shortcuts.
Hi everybody, As we announced a couple of days ago, we're mostly ready to release the next update of Project Hospital which brings official support for the Steam Deck and the usual delivery of fixes and improvements including some welcome fixes of community translations. As this has really helped with the last few releases, we're once again making the version available early on a beta branch so the community and especially modders can try it out and check that everything works on their side. The release notes are listed below, the beta branch you can switch to in Properties in your library is beta-patch-39-test. Let us know if you find any issues and we're very interested to hear any feedback about the controls on the Deck when any of you receive yours - we'll create a pinned thread in the discussions on the community page for that.
Hi everybody, we have some quite exciting news: after a bit of testing we're pleasantly surprised by how well Project Hospital works on the Steam Deck! As you may know, we never planned a console version because of both controls and performance, but the touchpad on the Deck really makes this possible.
We're finishing a version with controls mapped to the Deck's input, properly using the virtual keyboard and including some small tweaks, we plan to make it available for you with the next patch later this week and hopefully we'll get the game verified by Valve soon.
In the meantime we'd love to hear your opinions: Do any of you plan to get the Steam Deck or have already preordered it? What are your experiences playing games with a controller using a virtual cursor?
Hi everybody, Once again, the holidays are approaching and we're finding ourselves looking back at the months that have just flown by. 2021 has been another challenging year for everybody, including us at Oxymoron Games, but at the same time a great year for Project Hospital, with so many players joining the community, while the game received a few more patches and more content arrived to the Steam Workshop. The team will now be taking a couple of weeks off, trying to find a bit of peace and quiet and spending time with our loved ones, so if you reach out on the different channels, we'll be mostly able to get back to you on January 3rd. And as usually this time of the year, when this message goes live, the Winter Sale should be on the way and Project Hospital will be joining with a 50% discount. So, everybody who is reading this, have a great holiday and a safe and successful start to the New Year 2022! We're looking forward to seeing you on the forums and hopefully some time next year we'll be able to start sharing more about what's next to come from Oxymoron Games! Cheers, The Oxymoron Games team
Hi everybody, we're happy to make this little announcement before the Holidays: the next patch for Project Hospital is now live! Thanks to everybody who tried it on the beta branch early, we're glad we managed to fix that one little hiccup before releasing the update officially! We've also updated the Thai build (on thai-language-support branch) to patch 38 and added a Mac OSX version as requested! We hope you'll enjoy the little improvements, fixes and the new mix of the main music theme!
We are mostly done with testing the next patch for Project Hospital, so we're on a good track to release it before the holidays. Just like with the last patch, we've put it on a beta branch for those of you who would like to try it out early and help us catch any possible rare issues or problems with mod compatibility.
The release notes are included below, as you'd expect at this later development stage, it's mostly smaller or very specific bug fixes, improvements and tools.
Here's the beta branch that you can switch to in properties on Steam:
Hi everybody, we're happy to announce another addition to the list of community translations: Thai language is now available in Project Hospital!
We're very happy to see all the Thai players that joined the community recently and while it wasn't straightforward to get the translation working in game as the systems weren't built in a way that supports switching fonts, we now have a special Windows version of the game available for you to try. To switch to it:
If you go to Properties -> BETAS, select "thai-laguage-support". The Thai language should then be available in options in game.
Once again big thanks to the translators for their effort and especially for figuring out a way to get the fonts working.
Hi everybody, the next patch for Project Hospital is now officially live! We hope you'll enjoy the quality of life improvements, bugfixes and a couple of improved translations from wonderful community members. :) Thanks to everybody who tried the new version on a beta branch, we're glad no issues popped up there! There's also one more fix that's worth mentioning but isn't part of the patch itself: an issue with cloud saves not updating correctly on certain machines should be now resolved. It turns out the problem wasn't in game code but in our configuration of cloud saves on Steam side.
Hi everybody,
The next major patch with the usual round of fixes and improvements is now ready and while we're doing an extra round of testing, we thought why not make it available to those of you that would like to try it straight away. After the issues we encountered with the last patch launch we're trying to be extra careful so any help with testing would be welcome, especially from members of the modding community so we catch any possible compatibility issues (although we're not expecting any problems with mods).
Here's the beta branch that you can switch to in properties on Steam:
Thanks in advance and have fun! :)
Complete retagging of the Project Hospital Steam workshop is finished! Departments, decorations, equipment, gameplay tweaks, and scenarios now clearly organized. More than 300 items ready to refine your gaming experience. Explore Project Hospital workshop now!
Hi guys, today we would like to share something a bit different - a video mapping the whole development process of Project Hospital! Jan (one of the two team members who started developing Project Hospital in 2016) has been working on this for quite a while and it's finally ready. Let's have a look at the four-years-long journey from a humble concept to a finished game with 4 DLCs and a worldwide player community, all packed in five minutes on screen. It has been quite a ride and we are most grateful you rode with us! [previewyoutube=jUtr-idUoK8;full][/previewyoutube]
Hi, you've probably noticed that we rolled the game back to the previous version soon after the release patch 36. After quite a busy week of investigating the issues and extra testing after fixing the root cause, our fingers are crossed for today's re-release. We'd also like to thank everybody who sent us their saves, it really helped us figure out what exactly went wrong and verify that everything works reliably in a much wider selection of hospitals than our usual test levels. We hope you'll enjoy the improvements that come in this version! Original release notes: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/868360/view/3014568991981558677
Hello, a new patch 36 was just released. Amongst a fair portion of fixes, it brings improved pathfinding related to limited access areas and tuned examination.
Hi, we've just released a new patch with a few fixes, mostly trying to fix the mysterious issue with headless patients that has recently started to pop up quite frequently.
Hi everybody,
With only a couple of days left until holidays, let us once again take the opportunity to have a quick look at the year behind us. It has definitely been a 'proper 2020' for us as well, but apart from the time spent in lockdown and sometimes struggling with work from home, there have been some highlights too, including two development babies :).
We managed to keep working on the game and your continuous support allowed us to add a lot of new content and features in updates and the three DLCs released this year, so this is also a humble thank you to everybody who bought any of the expansions, contributed to mods or translations, supported other players or helped us catch remaining issues in the game.
The team will be now taking a couple of weeks off after a very demanding season, so we'll be only able to reply on the different channels occasionally and we'll be mostly able to get back to you on January 4th.
And last but not least, enjoy the Winter Sale, Project Hospital will be available with a 50% discount for the duration of the sale. :)
Have a good one!
For everyone who wants to jump straight to the hustle and bustle of a fully staffed hospital, we added an optimized version of one of the big hospitals, with all departments and employees already prepared for your guidance. Hi all, while the release of the Department of Infectious Diseases DLC went surprisingly smoothly, we still found and fixed a few minor issues plus a few more reported on Steam and on the official forum. Here are the release notes:
From exotic diseases to world-wide pandemics, find and treat the most dangerous cases at a new department!
Project Hospital - Department of Infectious Diseases contains 65 different diagnoses and comes with all the specialized equipment needed to treat them. Transfer your patients to an isolation ward and make sure you prevent a potential outbreak. You can control in which areas of the hospital your staff will need to wear masks and infectious patients will be even transported on special stretchers.
New events focused on the department bring some extra challenge, for example a big wave of COVID-19 patients. The DLC also comes with more content including a new ambulance and a new sandbox level.

Hi all, as we're approaching the release of the Department of Infectious Diseases DLC, here's one more patch with a few fixes.
Hi everybody, a new patch is out with mostly smaller improvements and fixes, but there's one change we should give you more details about - a system for handling incompatible mods we introduce with this version. We've noticed that there are a few mods that are still widely installed, but haven't been updated in a very long time and are causing problems, typically untreatable patients at Internal Medicine. We can now mark these as incompatible not only on the workshop, but also directly in game, so they won't get loaded and you'll see a warning in main menu. This shouldn't be causing any problems with loading saved games, also there should be alternatives for most of the affected mods already available on the workshop. If you're an author of one of the mods, please get in touch, we'll be happy to give you all the info about what needs to be updated, so we can re-enable the mod. Moreover, the list is accessible in the Twakables.xml file, so if you really love one of these mods and don't mind the side effects, it's possible to re-activate it there (TWEAKABLE_INCOMPATIBLE_WORKSHOP_MODS). Changes - Rolled back Unity version for Mac and Linux back to 2018.2.7f1 to hopefully fix a regression with text rendered in bold for certain languages, Windows version needs to stay on 2018.2.17f1 because of Citrix, but we'll also try to put a build with the previous version on a new branch (bold-text-fix). - Implemented mod compatibility system - Implemented re-roll of available doctors to ensure getting some interns for hire after getting the 'great interns' reward - Implemented sending patients to hospitalization from waiting rooms - Implemented prioritized selection of technologists in the same room if a patient has just finished an examination at radiology - Blocked building foundations over parking road, allowed only certain surface types, fixed visualization not colored red - Added ingame 10 min delay to lab procedures before they can be selected by technologists so equipment cabinets with samples can't get reserved by technologists between multiple samplings of one patient - Increased maximum manual UI scale for 4k resolution by ~25% - Allowed diagnosed patients to choose a new doctor when waiting (not always returning to the doctor who diagnosed them) - Disabled counting of planned only rooms in department workload statistics and daily workload statistics - Implemented opening of matching departments surgery table for ICU patients Fixes - [Hospital Services] Fixed waiting time still counting when buying medicine - Fixed technologist easily stolen by another patient if their patient has more examinations scheduled that the can perform - Fixed doors not placeable if a wall is right next to a locked area, for example next to the road - Fixed receptionists performing triage only showing 'reserved' as status in their card - Fixed patient waiting on a tile and department is switched, he does not find a chair on the next department - Fixed patients from failed events sometimes deleted over midnight prematurely - Fixed sliders needed to be clicked too far right to get the maximum value - Fixed possible triggering of both needs scripts and getting called on the same frame - Fixed distances between two points on the same floor but in disconnected areas not correctly counted in pathfinding - Fixed doctors that are going to interview lying patients going to a random spot in the room unnecessarily - Fixed wrong sound for deleting doors (and undo not allowed) - Fixed ambulance parking allowed on above the ground floors - Fixed switching main building categories not cancelling prefab move action - Fixed patients that are both waiting for transport to a procedure and a collapse causing reservation text to flicker in their doctors card - Fixed patients at trauma centers too eager to get covered - Fixed characters walking through tables when there's no path clear of objects by setting higher path cost to blocking center objects than blocking wall-attached wall objects like eye test - Fixed validation icon in management not showing for internal medicine - Fixed patients with critcal symptoms not switched to other department when treatments cant be prescribed at their current one - Fixed missing wc door in Challenge 2 level - Fixed patients not transferred to their beds when returning for procedure back to their room, fixed patient not getting covered after some procedures - Fixed patients threatening to leave even when already at the pharmacy - Fixed wrong distance reported when selecting closest objects and the distances have already been pre-calculated - Fixed an event being unlocked after previous resave (challenge 3) - Disabled other actions for patients waiting to deliver a sample or get lab results and have no exm or trt planned - Implemented automatic switch to next state for lab procedures that never got delivered to labs - Hotfixed hidden but contracted insurance companies - Disabled send home button for characters already on their way out - Fixed interview after lunch teleporting doctors because of accessing use component with other object still reserved - Fixed switching janitor's workspaces interrupting them during needs and free time without actually cancelling the script - Fixed surgery table always showing surgery for the diagnosis even if the patient is waiting for another surgery of a symptom - Hotfixed objects reserved by employees at home (also for janitors, was already in place for other professions) - Fixed undo not correctly working for all prefab rooms
We're happy to confirm that Department of Infectious Diseases, the second expansion for Project Hospital is on its way to infect your game!
The DLC will come with 65 diagnoses from exotic diseases to world-wide pandemics, it will also bring new events, outbreaks and equipment to handle them: transfer your patients to an isolation ward, control in which areas of the hospital your staff will need to wear masks and transport infectious patients on special stretchers.
We aim to release Department of Infectious Diseases in August for 5.99 USD/EUR/your regional equivalent and we hope you'll enjoy all the new content!

Hi everybody, while we're approaching the release of Hospital Services DLC, here's one more big update with improvements, fixes and an overhauled Internal Medicine department. Yes, Project Hospital now has UNDO in building mode! Seriously though, this was one of the most complicated features to implement, so we'll appreciate if you let us know if it breaks in any specific circumstances. And it wouldn't be a Project Hospital update without a few camera rotation fixes. :) Features & changes - Internal medicine - updated diagnoses at internal medicine department, it will be now more challenging and more profitable (and more focused on pulmonary diseases) - Internal medicine - removed surgical procedures, added new specialized room with unique equipment and new procedures - Improved efficiency of Radiology by smarter examination planning by the AI doctors and by making the radiologists more patient at their workspace :) - Implemented UNDO in building mode - Implemented automatic taking away of ambulance patients when emergency is closed - [MOD SUPPORT] Implemented check of procedures during load to catch files broken by uninstalled mods earlier (stable) - [MOD SUPPORT] Hotfixed collapse symptoms that don't lead to a procedure causing stuck characters, probably broken in one of the mods (or a combination of mods) out in the wild - [MOD SUPPORT] Implemented automatic return to menu with reporting of errors if the game fails to load a save (changed but still installed mods breaking diagnoses for example), added check for diagnoses to the main save game check - [DOCTOR MODE] updated prices of doctor mode objects - Improved automatic UI scale for main panel in 1280 x 800 resolution - Implemented automatic cancellation of a few examinations when moving patient to ICU or trauma when there are faster alternatives available there (ECG, echo, USG) - Increased extended employee limit to 600 Fixes - Fixed replacing of a room with the same type of room but from a different department - Fixed rooms not always correctly marked as working after reopening closed departments - Fixed incorrectly reserved sofa in the 'inefficient' campaign level - Fixed missing head lamp in one of the examination animations - Fixed using dynamite/foundations over parking lots - Fixed events triggered right before midnight spawning patients stuck on impossible visit time - Fixed treatments planned by the player when a patient is coming to radiology breaking the radiology examination and getting technologists stuck - Fixed AI doctors sometimes unnecessarily planning two examinations both used to detect the same symptom (like USG and FAST) - Fixed nurses showing their own portrait on the patient list in their employee card while performing patient checkup - Fixed characters rotated during object use clipping through stuff, their orientation was used to determine whether they should be rendered in front or behind an object, using the object orientation instead - Fixed moving of objects with attachments not checking attachment placement and if it allow objects above, this could lead to the attachment being lost - Fixed event objective button causing insurance to open instead of event patients in some cases when loading first save after booting up the game - Set font family for Russian on mac to normal for all texts, bold is not really bold in the default font and is hard to read - Fixed CBC not available at the ICU - Fixed un-reservation of patient's bed when they are transported away (when they were not in their room their bed got stuck) - Implemented automatic cleanup of tmp files left among maps after unzipping - Fixed hospitalized patients performing 'free time' activities too often even when waiting for an examination - [CAMERA ROTATION] Fixed stat lab and waiting room info panels showing at correct position only with default camera orientation - [CAMERA ROTATION] Fixed objects selected for delete left highlighted after rotating the camera view - Fixed 'waiting for player' not popping up after transferring controlled patient with no planned procedures between departments - Implemented automatic switching of active department when clicking surgery table button in patient card so the surgery table opens for patient's department - Fixed disabled hiring for night shift when there's doctor assigned at day shift at the same workspace even if the day shift is not working completely - Fixed characters sometimes getting stuck when trying to switch to his/her workplace trough assign workplace button - Implemented reset of wrong diagnosis after an hour of blocking patient's doctor instead of returning to a waiting room Included in hotfix from 24.03.2020 - Fixed dead characters with surgery priority set by the player blocking other surgeries - Fixed cloud saves not always correctly deleted from server - Fixed stuck characters caused by not selecting objects in a given room when on the same floor but when their path goes via the ground floor - Fixed hospitalized and released patients coming back by ambulance after being treated and released when they still have some lab tests running at midnight Included in hotfix from 19.03.2020 - Fixed black ambulance stretcher positioning breaking the ambulance when unloading area is placed at the furthermost point - The DLC contains two new departments and brings more life to the hospitals with visitors coming to see your patients and a lot more activities for your staff. Let us name a few new features: pharmacy, staff training, cafeteria, janitor management, visitor's lounge and gift shop for your lobbies. On the other end of the spectrum, there's Pathology as an individual department where you can perform autopsies and find out more about what went wrong.
If you're interested, please add the DLC to your wishlist so you don't miss the release - and it also helps us as developers! If not, there are still more features coming to the base game, so stay tuned!
Hospital Services will be available before the end of April for 7.99 USD/EUR/your regional equivalent and we hope the features are very much in line with what a lot of you wished for!

First patch of the 2020's! :) A couple new features for modders and fixes of the recently discovered issues as usually.
Hi everybody, With the holidays right behind the corner, let us take this opportunity to have a quick look back at 2019 - what a year for Oxymoron Games and Project Hospital! After the successful release in October 2018 which mostly ensured our survival as an indie studio, we continued working full time on numerous patches and content updates addressing both our own ideas and suggestions from you, leading to the free Doctor Mode DLC released in November. We're very happy to see our efforts have paid off, judging by discussions on the forums or by Steam reviews. The game is now pretty close to our original vision and we still have some more ideas in the bag for early 2020. So, we'd like to thank you all for the continuous support, wish everybody great holidays and all the best in the New Year! The team will be heading to a long awaited vacation, so we'll be only able to reply on the different channels occasionally. Btw - the Ho- Ho- Ho-spital will be discounted at 40% for the duration of the Winter Sale, in case any of you consider - for example - gifting the game to a friend! ;) See you all in 2020! :)
