The overall font size of the UI has been significantly changed to improve legibility, and the issue of canceling the installation of the test and furnace where items are stored will be corrected. 1.The human-type alien character has finally been RAISED FROM THE DEAD!
Now you can enjoy two completely different types of characters! An alien character who was able to play in the demo version, which was released in November 2019, will be revived again. We analyzed the play data of the demo version and then changed it to an action-oriented "flame" character to lower the entry barrier at the launch of Early Access. But our decision has led to fewer choices for players who were playing traditional sandbox game in the demo version. We are sorry that we have made a hasty decision on our own to narrow down the players' choices because of the burden of early access. But we've already had the early stages, and we've had a lot of enlightenment. We admit that RE:OZMA's first entry play was very tough because of the sudden change in character. "Let's revive the human character."
We have now decided to hand over the choices to the players, and to create an environment in which players can choose and play characters to suit taste. However, two completely play styles in one build, UI, are difficult for the other character to coexist, so we're prepared to divide the build into two pieces and play it selectively. When running the library in Steam, you can choose between Human and Flame to play. We will continue to service both builds live.
If you like the play style of a human-type alien character, please select the [Human type] when running the launcher after the 0.1.6 version patch. The human-type alien character has the same play stream as the traditional demo, and it reflects the early barrier improvements, balancing, and bug fixes that we've refined over the past month.

2.Adjusting and improving graphic colors
RE:OZMA's overall gaming graphics color adjusts the visibility of the play, allowing you to play with more relaxed eyes.
3.Boss monster BUFFERRUN balance adjustment
Boss monster Bufferrun's HP has been adjusted from 80,000 to 50,000 and reduced attack power and speed by 50%. It will be easier to clear than before.
4.Add Capsule Bed Manufacturing List
Capsule beds have been added to the manufacturing list for starting points on ice planets. Moving across to play a different planet to make a capsule bed when you travel in.

It's the third week of RE:OZMA's Early Access launch!
We've solved some of the early entry barriers with patches up to the previous version of 0.1.4, and we're going to continue to improve on your feedback.
In this 0.1.5 patch, we are trying to polish the beginning of the main content.
First, we have been doing balance adjustment related to 2 major boss monsters, runes, and items, and have modified major bugs.
-The human-type character is coming back!
We are preparing to update the alien characters we released in the demo version into the early access build!
In fact, we added an actionable "flame" character to lower the barriers of sandboxes, but we think it was a choice that reduced the choices available to players who used to enjoy authentic sandboxes in the demo version.
So we're reviving an alien character with the human form and preparing to play the same version of the demo.
Now, if you're playing an authentic sandbox in RE:OZMA, you can play a fireball character if you're going to play a sandbox with a human-type, action-packed character.
However, additional development schedules are required for the two characters to coexist. As soon as the update schedule is finalized, we will share the development status.

-0.1.5 Patch Note Summary
We've prepared a total of 25 patch lists.(Go to Patch Note!) 1.Bose monster WATCHER balance adjustment. Reduced HP from 150,000 to 80,000 and reduce all attack damage by 50%. 25% reduction in the speed of movement for Watcher and Watcher Summoners. It will be easier and faster to get rid of Watcher than before.
2.Bose monster BIG STONE balance adjustment. Reduced HP from 300,000 to 100,000 and reduce all attack damage by 50%. It will be easier and faster to get rid of Big stone than before.
3.Make the runes. Random skills and weapons are obtained from the tombs of aliens. It may take a long time to get the desired skills and weapons. So we added skills and weapons to the manufacturing list.

Hello, Adventures! Is it Merry Christmas everyone? We actually couldn't find time to enjoy Christmas. steamfacepalm (We will enjoy Christmas next year!!) We've been working on patches for a week to resolve the initial entry barrier we talked about last week. Finally, We're finally hosting the 0.1.3v Patch on 27th December.
The direction of this patch is to enjoy the gameplay smoothly for an hour.
RE:OZMA is still tough, but please believe in the possibilities.
That's right. We still have a lot to polish. Many opinions and feedback make us a better game. As the members continued to play, we prepared a total of 40 patch lists, looking for bugs and improvements. Our patch will continue next week and the following week. Unless something unusual happens, we try to stabilize the service by patching it every week. The phenomenon of falling underground in the particular terrain that you have reported is being checked internally. Players that have experienced this will be able to help developers solve the problem by sending them the location of the terrain and the behavior when it falls. -Tutorial simplified the first startup quest and changed the flow to allow monsters to flock after wearing weapons(0.1.2v patch). Unfortunately, we removed NPC friends to maintain the smooth flow of the quest. (I'm sorry..... I'm sure we'll meet again next time.) The hand of Sauron is immediately given at the start of the first game and the monster is not accessible from the initial sponge area. So once you've logged on to the game, you won't be killed by a monster that's coming right away. -We added game guides to the game on game manipulation and general manufacturing, archaeology manufacturing, inventory expansion, and cracking. Finding and pressing the Question mark button in the game will solve the question!

Hello, adventures! It's been a day since Early Access launched, and we're looking at feedback. First, thank the players for their feedback (even for 10 minutes) To sum up day one situation in one line,
"Players are mostly clogged up from the beginning of the game."
We wanted to give you a good experience with our game, but on the other hand, we are very sorry for the inconvenience and limitations As we developed games, we focused on technology implementation and content completion of games, and we designed games in a hardcore way. Therefore, we acknowledge that we were unprepared for the initial experience. We don't think this is an excuse, even if it's early access.
We think we're blocking the players' access to a lot of the content we've prepared.
We will improve it as soon as possible so that those who have experienced discomfort can enjoy it. So today, we fixed and patched the most urgent things in Patch 0.1.2 that are most disturbing to the game. Next week, we will make a substantial improvement based on the feedback we have received so far.

Today we're going to be announcing RE:OZMA's BIG ISSUE!
It's about a Change of Action and Early Access!
-RE:OZMA, is it really what we(developer) want?
We've learned a lot from the demonstration and crowdfunding. We've been looking back at the time for a year and eight months. We've implemented the elements of Sandbox, we've made new attempts at combining genres. Are we really playing fun? Is our personality enough? We still think that's not enough. How do we solve this problem? So we thought back to the time when we were designing the first game. Our initial project was an accessible game that combined cool action with sandboxes. This is the RE:OZMA prototype of June 2018.
Since then, we've been developing on sandboxes, focusing on implementing classic sandboxes, "basics." And RE:OZMA evolved into a classic(hardcore) sandbox game, not a light. We've implemented multiplayer and combined genres to add our own colors. Space simulation and shooting genre combined. But what we've felt during the months of development and demonstration There's a lack of RE:OZMA-style. In the pursuit of hybrid sandbox games, did we really implement them? Of course, we combined them, but the new genre is concentrated at the end of the game content. From the beginning, users were too far from enjoying their individuality. We realized that this was not enough, and we made a big decision.
Decision1. Cool Action with RE:OZMA!
So we decided to go back to the beginning and try the game we thought we were going to play, which is, you know, the action that's going to be very quick and cool, in a sandbox. That's why it was born! It's RE:OZMA's new character!
The concept of a character in the early stages of the project was an apathetic character without a body. He was a transformative character.
The hero left alone on RE:OZMA's planet, which has become a graveyard for the dead of aliens due to the great destruction of the universe. Hero's body is all burned down, and the only character left behind is the 'spiritual' who follows the tracks of the dead aliens and explores 'infinite transformation' by combining their bodies and their souls. Early Access schedule, as predicted by crowdfunding, was Q1 2020. How many months will developers make and receive feedback? VS Will we make it public first, and keep getting feedback? We chose the latter. So we decided to boldly move forward with the Early Access schedule. What we felt this time for sure was that we were trapped and made. There seems to have been a lack of verification of 'fun'. So the reason we're developing games is to come up with fun games. We have changed the Steam Store to 'Early Access game' and are currently in the process of screening the Early Access build. As soon as the review is completed, the exact schedule will be announced again. At Early Access, you will now play an actionable character, and content roadmaps will be re-arranged.

We've been busy preparing for the demo and crowdfunding at the same time. And
It took more time than our expected development schedule, so we announced this on the last day of October. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule.

1.RE:OZMA Changes: Added new genre +1
RE:OZMA pursues change and challenges every day. The core value is to make it a game what you can enjoy unlimited fun by your choice."
We are pursuing an 'infinitely expandable game' by combining with various game genres on the basic ground genre sandbox. Planets in RE:OZMA can be 'different genre planets'. Each planet has its own genre and you can play the game to suit your purpose and taste. In other words, you can move to another game planet at your own choice, where you can play new games there, or create your own. And an important point! Items and character information obtained from the sandbox are organically linked between the planets, affecting different genres. In addition, we are planning a content plan for one year after launch, and there are other game changes. After the crowdfunding opens, we will see the changes!
2. DEMO application will open from next week!
The demo build is almost finished. Hello, everyone First of all, I would like to thank everyone for visiting the RE: OZMA store page. Thank you for your interest. I'm Kelly, CEO of Shiftrick, developer of RE: OZMA. I had a lot of worries and thoughts about writing this. I was afraid. (I wrote several times and erased it repeatedly.) I've seen some users write that RE:OZMA is similar to specific titles. It's very heartbreaking and embarrassing. Because it's not what we intended. But because we have a clue to this, we can't just watch this situation anymore. -RE:OZMA is not just a sandbox
RE:OZMA is a Mash-up genre game that combines sandbox and space simulation genres, shooting, roguelike, RPG, platformer. Recently mentioned in Dev Diary # 5, 6, 7, we are constantly looking for our own colors. The biggest reason we started the company is that we want to have fun and play games with our users. 'We want to enjoy the game together with the users, and complete it together'. And I wanted to give you a good experience.
-The big reason why we chose sandbox as the fundamental genre
The first thing we talked about as a company after we were established was that we would like to reflect our own image into our game. We wanted to put our unique and freewheeling personalities into our game. In order to create a unique and free game world, we start by searching for the best foundation for it; without being said, it is a sandbox genre. 1)It's embarrassing but it's the first prototype of our game in Jun 2018. (Our game was called 'EXTRA LIFE' at the time.)
It is our situation to challenge the indie game for the first time. Initially, we focused on the implementation of basic dungeons, random terrain, and procedural terrain. 2)2nd Prototype of September 2018
We chose the concept of finding a new life in the vast outer space, aliens as the worldview, where the user and the planet interact. (We will later reveal the hidden story of why we chose aliens and the universe.) 3)3rd Prototype of February 2019
This was the third prototype we developed in a year. We participated in the PAX EAST exhibition with this version. We brought a vast universe of space, the concept of aliens looking for new life into the worldview, where they embody the interaction between users and planets. We decided to take on new challenges through the fusion of 'sandbox' with other genres.
As time went by, we focused on researching and implementing 'sandbox' itself. It wasn't really easy. It was hard to find a sample to reference, and we started to study and find games that were recognized in the genre. Indeed, the games were very great and I don't think it's something we can compare to. In February 2019, we released a video under development at PAX EAST in March with the idea of implementing a sandbox. In fact, we think it was so misleading to disclose this too early stage.
-The biggest reason we release our past prototypes
The reason we release our past prototypes and development process is that we are ready to accept any questions or feedback as long as we can resolve the misunderstandings of our users.
-Please play first and judge our identity.
Since then, we've been studying different genres (space simulation, shooting, RPG, Platformer) following the sandbox and getting closer to the Mash-up genre. Next month(0ct. 2019), the demo version is coming out. And we removed the controversial videos from Youtube, the Steam store, and the Website. And we're eliminating or changing all the controversial parts of the game. In the future, we will show you a game containing our own colors. This is RE:OZMA's latest version of the main menu loading/Animation and character customization screen. And tutorial quest. (Added on September 5)

Today is the second Dev diary in August.
1. Our current situation
Since the introduction of "RE: OZMA's genre expansion" last month, development work has been ongoing. -Implementation of each genre: We are improving the completeness of our sandbox and space simulation genre. After this development is completed, the next genre will be developed. -Hybrid of the genre : It is a combination of six different game genres, such as sandbox, strategy simulation, RPG, rogue-like, platformer, and shooting. Thus allowing the development of the materials and items acquired by each game genre so that they can be used in other games. -Alpha Testing: The build is currently under construction and will be in alpha testing in September. -Crowdfunding: It is scheduled to launch in September and is in preparation.
2.New illustration of RE:OZMA
We have recently completed illustrations that represent RE: OZMA. We wanted to portray the emptiness, exploration and excitement of the moment as we enter a new alien civilization. We will use this illustration everywhere, on our game, homepage, in the store, on social media. And we will continue to draw illustrations to express our world and story.
3. 2D Sandbox in renewal, coloring our personality
Sandbox is the first challenge for us. The biggest reason for Shiftrick's founding and developing games is to provide "fun to play together". To do this, we're taking on a new challenge of mash-up different genres based on the sandbox. It also plans to challenge online network play and even cross-platform.
3-2. New types of tiles Various types of tiles are prepared to match the atmosphere of RE:OZMA's space and aliens. There are about 100 types of tiles currently produced, and we plan to add more in the future.
3-3. Dyeing system We're developing various unique pattern and colors to make your own unique building. Players can dye their tiles by extracting colors from all tiles and consumables in the game.
4.We are not perfect
We face new challenges every day. The biggest reason is to do what we like, and what we like to do is make fun games and share them with a lot of people. To do this, your feedback and opinions are very important. We have a lot of shortages and are never perfect. We need your feedback and feedback to make our games better and more fun. 2. About "Antimatter" in RE:OZMA space
When the players explore space, they encounter tens of thousands of scattered antimatter. The amount of antimatter depends on the location of the space. This antimatter is taken as a base material for everything that is produced in the space, such as gas, units, buildings, and so on.
And players can install defense facilities and gas stations to defend their planet.

1. What is RE: OZMA? Sandbox?
The beginning of the first development of RE: OZMA began with "being an alien, looking for a new extraterrestrial life in the space, evolving and growing and finding the meaning of its existence". We've tried to develop new attempts to combine/mix different game genres in order to develop these game design. And the first step to realizing our ultimate goal was 'Sandbox'. As we've been developing hard to implement sandbox for nearly a year and a half, we've been sharing the progress of the development of our game's sandbox genre,(It was our first time to develop a sandbox, and it was a huge trial and error. Fortunately, the result is now visible.) So, many people have thought of it as a 'RE: OZMA = Sandbox game'. It is because we have been lacking in communication about the direction and purpose of our game. sorry.
2. Expansion of RE:OZMA - Crossover game genre
We want to implement the very complex interactions there is a huge space. So, we thing that the game play pattern and aspect are also complex and diverse. As a result, we wanted to combine different game genres. This is a diagram of RE:OZMA's crossover game genre.

Users will have to defeat the Hero and his army in order to bring him to the users home planet, where he will reside. By taking full advantage of resources, mercenaries, and strategies, the hero protects the player's planet and strengthens it. In outer space, other players will have their own planets with their unique set of heroes that can be used for multiplayer activities. Users can also expand their control by conquering other players' planets. Space combat is a simulation battle, and heroes can be very useful at this time. They will defend the player's planet and possessions. In addition, multiple planets can be used to invade and attack other players and steal their possessions. It's been a while since our last RE:OZMA development diary! This time around, we're introducing RE:OZMA multiplayer.
* Development of Map Storage Compression Algorithm for Seamless Multiplayer Implementation
RE:OZMA is a sandbox and multiplayer game. Due to the nature of the genre, the map will be modified real-time and at random, so that all the connected users would update the information without any delay. To solve this problem, we have developed a method to compress map information to the maximum extent. So multiple people could join and play together. After a long period of developing, we finally succeeded in developing and now users can play crafting, building, combat, and PVP together. Of course, we'are still on our way. We have to test and modify/polish as many people as possible into the map.

1.Random terrain generation being developed
-A race against time of map generation & Random terrain generation being developed RE:OZMA game map size is huge, random terrain. Therefore, our first concern was the long time it takes to generate the map. Fortunately, we solved that problem. But we had to face issues related to mountain barriers as well as ensuring random terrains were created smoothly. Today's key theme is "to make sure that the terrain we want is created properly when we dig it. Although we originally had developed this feature, we now had to redevelop it. A persisting problem is that boundary regions are awkward and difficult to organize naturally. We are still in this state and planning to solve this part in the future. 2. About weapons
With various acquisition methods (routing and production), you are able to acquire and produce various kinds of weapons. Weapons include swords, blunt weapons, axes, pickaxes, guns, crows, magic staff, and wizard wands. For example, the grid below represents a weapon arsenal in our game, and we would like to emphasize that gamers may create their own weapon arsenals using the methods mentioned above.

Hello everyone, We are very pleased to open our first game "RE: OZMA" Steam Store 2weeks ago. This week we are going to update RE: OZMA's development progress here at the Steam Community.
1. Multiplayer
RE:OZMA provides single and IP play on fundamentally multi-play environment to maximize the fun from playing together. It provides world chat system where players can randomly meet in RE:OZMA Cosmo space, communicate and play with other players in their planet when they are online RE:OZMA supports multiplayer. You can meet other people's planets at random, or you can meet and play together. As part of that work, we are developing a UI on the world map. In RE:OZMA world, you can create your own planets, and you can see other planets at random. This is a new feature that allows you to choose whether to show your planet to another.
2. Customizing the planet
As mentioned earlier, RE: OZMA allows you to create your own planets and customize them. There are a lot of customization options already, and we are currently developing more customizations.
3. NEW monsters are coming!
We are developing new monsters that will appear in a combat system. Some monsters appear at certain events, and there are boss monsters.

RE:OZMA is our first game and SHIFTRICK is an indie game studio that was established in 2018.
We have been developing space-themed 2D pixel graphics PC adventure sandbox game RE:OZMA for the past one year, weve been trying to implement core concept and form of a game.
In March 2019, we revealed our first demo build at PAX EAST 2019. In fact, there were a lot of fears before going to the game show, Sincere interest and feedback will be a driving force for us to continue to attract RE: OZMA.
Come back to our home, we continue to develop the game based on feedback from many people. During PAX EAST 2019, we released about 10% of our overall contents through demo build. We wish we could have shared more with the users that we prepared.
Now, the biggest obstacle we have to overcome is the multiplayer feature. RE:OZMA provides single and IP plays on fundamentally multi-play environment to maximize the fun from playing together. It provides a world chat system where players can randomly meet in RE:OZMA Cosmo space, communicate and play with other players in their planet when they are online. Also if player wants to, player can Invite friend to the players planet.
Our Motto is "If you want, you can do everything". There isnt a given path in RE:OZMA. That means, it has a high level of freedom and it is a game where player create their own playing style.
If you are a user who is ready to play the game depends on players style and preference such as action, adventure, community, sandbox and others, they can all be a user of RE:OZMA. But we believe user who has the will to pioneer their own goal and path by setting their own goal will enjoy RE:OZMA much more.

The core concept of RE: OZMA is ‘autonomy’, ‘fusion’ and ‘entertainment’; it is a game where a gamer is finding the meaning of one’s being in the space while raising its character and surviving through the unknown world by meeting and connecting with other beings.
Each character gets their own unique planets, randomly meets endless stars in the cosmos and encounters many events and situations while cultivating and developing its living planet. Also, each character will run into different ‘creatures’; they sometimes live together, fight against the being (enemy) that destroys life, and conquer the planet. Players will cultivate and protect their own planets by using their full capability of survival instinct. Through these adventures, finally, the player will grow and rediscover himself.
1. If you want, everything is possible!
First when the user logs into the game, they will customize each of their characters and planets. Then, the user will enter the world map; here, there are many planets. Not only ones created by each player, but also various UFOs, metal planets, fire planets, snow planets, gas planets, NPC planets with different concepts, and event planets. Each planet is rotating and orbiting in random order and each planet’s difficulties are all different. The user can choose the planet they want to enter.2. Creating One’s Own World! "Field!"
When the user enters their own planet, they really start to build their ‘sand castle’: creating their world in a sandbox format. RE: OZMA’s planets are formed with random fields, created from random algorithm, and instant fields that are connected to the field.
-- Plays that the user can do on the field
First, the field provides Moding environment; it allows the user to collect, craft, grow, install, fish, and housing. The player can experience “Collect”, “Boast”, and “Multi-play and help” on-field contents; Also, since the field allows combat mode, the user can create their own unique game world by modifying the terrain just like building a sandcastle. Once the user builds storage, it increases the inventory space; when the user expands the house, the NPCs will visit, and the player can place various trophies in their house from hunting bosses. When other players visit the user’s world, the user can share everything with that player.
Also, during the field event, occurring under special circumstances, it will provide a unique experience and unique items that no one else has.
-- Field’s background & interaction with weather effect
Re: OZMA’s background within the planet allows the player to utilize every space: ground, sky, underground and the cosmos. The ground, sky, and underground allows the user to build and destroy anything at their will; meanwhile, space is mostly for adventuring.
Every weather effect such as snow, rain, wind, storm, and others are created to interact with the user. When the wind blows, the player will have a hard time moving due to wind’s resistance. When it rains, it will limit the player’s vision; when it snows, it will make the player hard to move due to them slipping. Also, the game environment changes based on the flow of time from morning to night and depends on the character’s behavior (ex. Use of Skill), the terrain change follows.
3. Creating One’s Own World! "Crafting"
The player can craft various items by combining hundreds of materials. Every item in the game can be used as material to build something: minerals, soil, stone, and sand from mining underground; trees, grass, flowers, and a piece of wing from a monster.
Buildings that are beneficial to the user will get targeted by the monsters (enemy); to protect them, the player may have to build terrets.

RE:OZMA provides single and IP play. Moreover, to maximize the ‘joy from playing with others’, it provides multiplayer mode and provides world wide chat. This allows players to randomly meet among RE:OZMA planets. They can trade, and the player can enter and play together in other player’s planets when that player is logged in.

RE:OZMA is inspired by the first SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) project. It was launched by the US National Radio Astronomy Observatory in 1968. Even in 2019, the ‘Project OZMA’is still on going after many trials by lots of scientists for the past several decades. We decided to call our game “RE: OZMA”, combining the word “RE” and “OZMA", because we were inspired by many people’s entrepreneurial spirit towards project OZMA and its history.
