Hey all! Before we get into the great stuff in this update, I want to talk a little about the development of SAELIG and what to expect going forward. A few updates back I floated the idea of leaving Early Access, and I received a lot of support on this. Due to that, I have slowly been shifting gears towards more of a release build. But what does that mean? It means Im focusing less on new stuff, and more on quality of life, and enhancing the existing stuff. So going forward from here you may find updates will come along at a quicker rate, but will also be less feature packed than they previously have been. Does this mean youll never get any new features? Absolutely not. Ill happily work on new features if there is hot demand for it. Even after all the polish is applied and the game is fully released Ill continue to add new stuff and release updates as normal. But for the next while the focus is on polish, optimisation, and quality of life. And now for this update! Bug Fixes
Hey, This update is purely to fix a single bug for the only person I know of to ever encounter it. Basically, a character died and while dying decided to give their businesses to their favourite child, unfortunately, their favourite child died at the same time. Then one of the workers at one of those businesses became quite upset that their new boss was a dead person so ended up hating them. Then because the worker hated their new dead boss so much they quit, but then they realised they were very desperate for a job and so took the only job that was on offer... the job they just quit... and then they kept doing this, over and over again. So yeah, I fixed that.

Greetings, I have been throwing up a few small fixes over the course of today, but this one has a couple things you should be aware of.
In some cases when loading a saved game with the old characters models in it, the new replacement characters would not be properly generated from all possibly variations, and children would have adult models. This has been fixed. If you have already loaded a game and encountered this bug and then saved again, only the child models will be fixed on load. All adult models may still potentially be affected by this bug. However these will get replaced as children grow up over time. Sorry! Me and the testing team didn't catch this.

Hi, my name is Jamie and I'm a System Administrator from small town New Zealand. I've been working on SAELIG since mid 2016, and it's been an absolute journey. I'm not going to pretend I've enjoyed every moment of it, or pretend I've handled every situation perfectly. But bloody hell I love this game and all of you. You've given me the opportunity to make the game I've been dreaming about since I was 13, and you've given me the opportunity to take my time. Yes, SAELIG is a labour of love, but it's also so much more than that. Sometimes it's the reason I get up in the morning... and the reason I've had too many late nights. I would be honoured if you nominate SAELIG for the labour of love award because it isn't just my labour of love; it belongs to all of us. We're a village of people trying to raise our baby the best we can. This post is a mess and obviously I'm not a wordsmith, but I think a lot of you would agree that SAELIG is a plethora of delights. ---- But hey, that's enough blathering from me. Here's some proper news for you. I've taken last month's sales and put it towards new software and outfits. So if all goes well we should have new character models and way more outfits coming soon! Which is very exciting. The current characters have been in the game since the beginning, and I think it is time to say goodbye to them. Also, I ran some tests one very late night and found out that SAELIG runs on iPads. Obviously I'm not focusing on this at the moment, but I very much love the idea of playing SAELIG on a touch device. So that's something else for me to consider for the future. Much love, Atorcoppe.

Well this has been a long time coming - Update 28 is here but it has been a lot of work so I've split it into two parts. This is part one.
This update meant I had to completely rewrite the system that buildings use to exist within the game, since when I first wrote it years ago the scope of the game was a lot smaller and thus the system was pretty basic. This new system though is brilliant and easily expandable, and best of all it is fully compatible with your saves!
While making this update I had some time to reflect on how far SAELIG has come as a game and how far I've come as a developer. I genuinely love this game and I love what I'm doing, and I'm so glad to have you all along on this ride with me. Thank you for everything.
I recently saw some videos from years ago when I first released SAELIG and I think it's amazing how far it has come. The first screenshot is from the release version of the game, and the second is from Update 28. That is the same town in both screenshots!

Updates to SÆLIG have been quite thin for a while now so I wanted to post this article to show you all some of the progress that has been made. Update 16 is well under way and there has been a lot of new stuff added, but we're not finished yet.
I'm delighted to be able to show off this new content.
Renting Houses
This allows you to rent out your unoccupied houses. The rent is paid to you at the end of every day and is based on the value of the house - so the more upgraded a house is, the higher rent will be, but you can also make manual adjustments.
Compare Markets
This allows you to see the stock of items at all markets at a quick glance.
New Map
A very large map with a lot of cool stuff - still a fair bit to do on this.
Wilderness Buildings
Some people will choose to live out in the forest at camps and the like. There will also be abandoned buildings. Unoccupied wilderness buildings can be claimed by the player.
New Buildings
A lot of new buildings. Houses are now way more dynamic and are randomly customised from a large pool of possibilities when you start a new game.
New Props
A lot of new props of all kinds with plenty of variation.

- General village props
Existing Map Updates
I have decided to also upgrade the existing maps to incorporate the new buildings and features from the new map. Previously I was going to replace these maps all together, but for now I will upgrade them.
Buy Already Owned Buildings
Buy buildings directly from the AI by offering more than the value. Calculated based on relationship stats.
Ducks
Most importantly of all, ducks will now swim if they venture into water.
There is also a wide range of general improvements and fixes to look forward to.
I'll try to keep you all updated on progress. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Hello, Firstly, thanks to everyone for your support, bug reports, and suggestions. It all helps tremendously, and without out you folks SAELIG would be nothing right now. Bugs Quite a few bugs, some quirky, some annoying, some fun. I just want you to know that I read every single bug that is reported and then log it in my system to keep track of them. So just keep on reporting and I'll fix them when I can. Crashes Crashes are bad and some people are getting a lot of them, and then some people are getting none. Fixing these crashes is currently my top priority. One particular eagle-eyed player noticed that their crashes usually only occur when the NPCs start getting stuck between things and inside things. As a direct result of this I am now completely rewriting my navigation script to make them smarter and to include better fail-safes in case they do get stuck. These navigation issues are likely causing other bugs too, as the world and production doesn't really function if people can't move and go about their day. Twitch I have decided to do some SAELIG related streams, but I'm not really sure of the exact content yet. In preparation I have made a twitch account, but I must admit, I've never done anything on twitch before, so let me know what you would like to see. Also, I don't have a mic, so any suggestions? These articles are a thing I will be doing once a week to keep everyone updated on progress, and to reassure people I'm still here, and still dedicated.

A small patch for you kind folks.
You previous saves will work for the most part. However, if you're looking to get the best out of this, or you have found your current save is glitched (stuck in seasons, etc), then I suggest you start a new game. This patch contains the following + more.
Just a quick update to fix some initial issues.
Here we go! So Early Access is now available, but I must stress that you should only buy this if you want to support the project and you're happy to play a game that is still heavily in development. You will encounter bugs, some of which could be very bad and break your game and saves, and you will encounter incomplete mechanics. In some cases it might not even work on your computer. :( If you don't like it or you encounter some major issues, please don't forget about refunds. Refunds are good, and I encourage you to obtain one if you are dissatisfied. Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope you like it. I think I need to go have a sleep, this has been hard.
